Also in sad news....Corin Redgrave died today. He was a lovely man and I had the good fortune to occupy the same space as he and his sisters a few years back. He was a kind, smiley person and he will be missed.

My parents got me the most amazing birthday gift ever...

Next Wednesday my dad and I fly to Tokyo, Japan for 5 days as he has a bit of business he needs to attend to there and I have always wanted to go and then we both fly to Beijing, China where he also has some business for nearly a week.


I'm going to Japan and China! I cannot wait....so many things to see and do and soooo little time.

So glad that my dad's work is allowing me to go and that my chinese visa came in on time. Yay rush delivery!!

Yay tomorrow is my birthday!! So excited...my grandma is in town visiting so it will be a good day.

Also today about an hour after I left the house, one of the empty rental homes in my neighborhood (about 3 blocks away) exploded. Apparently the electric and gas were left on and there was a leak and the place exploded. I drove past it twice on my way to the airport and back and it seems to have been a pretty contained explosion in the sense that the house is totally destroyed but bits of it weren't scattered everywhere.

So whatever you do on my birthday whether you fool people, play practical jokes or just sit home...don't let your house explode.

My birthday is on April 1st and I am sooo zazzed!

I'll be 26.

I already have some of my gifts but my parents are planning some neat things so I can't wait to see what they come up with.

I'm going to try to finish my thesis by July...completely finish it. I'm in therapy to help me get focused and what not so goals are good. Plus I get a bonus if I finish before I leave for Otakon again.

Welp I've been crazy busy lately with some doctors wrap ups and I went to Baltimore for Katsucon so I was gone for one heavenly week and now it's back to thesis business and other stuff.

I've lost like 6 lbs so I've started exercising so I can keep it off and I am lovely the wii again....so hard to love it when you don't play for ages but it really is a fun way to get fit.

Current projects that I'm very behind on around the house are putting some photos I got from grandmother into a photo album (some of them were taken by my grandfather in the south pacific during ww2 so i'm zazzed to get those into an album). Also I need to have 7 pictures bought between 2 cons framed...i have them in protective bags but the adhesive from one back marked one picture so I should remeasure it and maybe find a slightly smaller frame...or not worry about it as it's a print not an original.


Anywho...I'm around but I may be lurking so if you need me...just note me or write on this journal.

Considering I"m on bed rest for the next four days...see previous journal if you don't know why I'm in such bad shape...

Thanks for all the support thus far.

I woke up from my surgery around noon today to find that my outpatient surgery had become inpatient.

My skin infection spread across my mesh and it had to be replaced. They replaced it with something that isn't gore-tex so I have experimental fabric in me. If I had needed to go straight to a new gore tex patch they would have had to remove muscles from my back and transfered them to my front side.

That would have had me in the hospital for at least a month.


So hoping that my infection is gone now for good so this mesh doesn't need to be replace.

Also hoping that the experimental fabric doesn't need to be replaced anytime soon.


More prayers would be appreciated as I'll get out of the hospital tomorrow but have to stay in Florida until at least Wednesday. Plus I have a few important tests that are being processed so I could use some prayers that they come back without irregular cells.

Life has been madness since Christmas and i"m sooo behind in everything I was meant to do.


It must all wait though because tomorrow I leave for Frozen Florida for my surgery. i'll be back Saturday or so....no guarantees to when I'll be fully conscious though.

2009 has been another rough year for me but I'm still holding out hope for the next year.

Bright moments of this year included: Otakon (omg cons rule!), going to Australia (<3 the land down under), going to NYC for my birthday (woot best city in the world) and I've received some really epic art this year.

Dark Moments: Loss of some friendships, realizing some friends were using me, surgery in Feb, having to schedule another surgery (Jan 8th of 2010), my grandmother going mental in her grief and trying to sell everything she owned so she had to be watched like a hawk while she moved out of her house, family friction, revelation that my uncle has only a few months to live b/c he has pancreatic cancer that has spread and what I'll call "Failure to Launch" syndrome.

Still, I have been blessed to have found several true friends IRL and on the net and I'm about 37 pages from finishing my thesis (probably a bit less) so I'll try to be optimistic for the new year.

That's right tomorrow afternoon I head to the land down under for just shy of 2 1/2 weeks.

I plan on having a blast despite developing another dangerous skin infection near my surgical site. Can't let that keep me from the land of Oz though.

Hey all..

 shizuki who did my line arts of Tenshi and Mira is now selling line arts with some color *limited time only* for only $10.

It was a fantastic deal when it was just the line art but with color it is out of this world! What are you waiting for....why aren't you going and commissioning her?

Now that I have my two new characters up (Tenshi and Mira), Tune has disappeared from the front of my gallery. Glad you can still see Lady but need to post someone's art that they did for Tune...quite a few options to choose from.

But until I get a chance to post new art of her...all you furry fans don't forget...I have a cat character...and she's the bees knees as well.

Gosh I never update these journals...this time I am looking for a very specific crowd.

Recently I acquired two characters from a friend of mine and I have a third character that is in my head. With my current 2 characters that have ref sheets and art...most of those came through catching people who offered requests or dear friends who decided to gift me with art.

I would really like to expand my circle to include my 2 new characters (1 fox and 1 winged wolf) and the one that is in my head (a chihuahua).

If you want to help me realize my characters or help me at least welcome the two new ones into the fold I would be grateful.

I will accept any skill level and any rating for any of my characters just no baby furs, scat or watersports.

Requests or even very cheap commissions...if you offer them, if your friends offer them, if you know someone who knows someone...let me know.

I am easy to work with and don't expect art that is free to be done on any sort of schedule although if I do throw a few bucks at it I would like it finished in a reasonable amount of time. Again I have a basic ref for two of my characters and the third I just need help developing over all.

So I finally got my summer organized and to say I am bouncing off the walls happy is an understatement!

Going to my grandma's to help her get her house sorted...she's planning on moving to an apartment sometime soon and her house is huge so she'll need lots of help.

Then I'm acting as a counselor for a media camp...I get to crack the whip so my team of students gets their short film done on time.

Then I'm doing some stuff with my life group...frisbee golf and what not.

Then I'm going to Otakon which is soooooo exciting and then back to grandma's house.

YAY for the best summer plans I have had in a long time! Woot!

I've been cutting down on my online time a bit to try and reach my newest goal, which is to finish a complete rough (well, ehm, very rough) draft of my thesis by the date I graduate (I can graduate...I just get the actual degree in the mail when the thesis is finished) which is May 30th.

Last week I managed 20 pages *cheers*.

And this week despite having a hell of a rough time getting motivated I am shooting for 15 by the end of the night. I'm currently up to 6 1/2 pages. 3 1/2 of which were done in the last hour so I'm on a roll!

Hard to believe that by next Saturday I should have at least 50% of my rough draft done.

Not bad for having changed my topic like 4 weeks ago.

YAY!

I have messages proving that my ex-SL friend was cheating on his mate and used an argument with me to break up with his mate so he could date his guy on the side full time without guilt.

Now everyone thinks I'm an arsehole.

Thanks for all the comments on my last entry. I appreciate the birthday wishes as well.

Lately I've been having some issues on the whole. I'm not as sweet and wholly empathetic as I once was. I've become more blunt about things. And it's costing me friends.

I need to put this out there though as I don't ever tell anyone anything. This may sound like old news but having major health issues really changes your ability to handle certain things.

Like in the blogs I read elsewhere one girl is complaining about how she is overweight and doesn't have a boyfriend but she drinks like a fish and is beyond insane on the dating front. It is everything within me you guys to not leave her a note saying "Quit your drinking and maybe you'd lose a few fuckin' pounds and stop dating nice guys but dumping them for shit like they forgot to bring a toothbrush with them on a date that turned into a one night stand".

Almost dying does clarify things in the cold light of day. Having a best friend doesn't mean that you necessarily have someone who is with you through thick and thin. Whining about not having any money when you blow your paycheck on a new wardrobe every week is stupid and makes you look stupid.

Some things and people that we think we need or think we like or even think we love can poison our souls and rot our minds and yet very few people seem to care until the damage is done and can never be repaired.

Now of course with very few exceptions I keep these things to myself and the few times I let them out with people I cared for...its bit me in the ass.

But I can't keep myself up at night until the wee hours of the morning worrying about people and crying over people. It's enough to cry over myself.

It's rather funny how much emphasis you put on how people perceive you on the internet and perhaps what is more distressing is how easily that perception is tarnished without your ever having to do something wrong.

But honestly that isn't what's bothering me..

What is bothering me is that Wednesday is my 25th birthday. I always thought that at 25 I would be two years into my PhD program. Instead I'm on social security, living with my parents and generally disillusioned with things.

For my birthday I am going to NYC with my mum to see some shows and hopefully forget about the fact that my life got derailed by my poor health.

Second Life friends...love you all to bits. Thanks for the laughs and smiles in dark days and I will see whom I see when I return. Til then...think of me fondly.

So I zoned out in front of the TV while watching Skunk Fu and all of a sudden spanish subtitles turned on. However, it wasn't the subtitles for Skunk Fu....so after reading the subtitles for a bit I finally hit on a phone conversation where someone announced their name and job. So I looked it up and I have to say....


why on earth is my cartoon network showing spanish subtitles for the show Big Shots?!

I mean I love Dylan McDermott as much as the next person but honestly!

and the interwebs threatens to explode!
