MOVING ACCOUNTS > CatSidheSilvie update
General | Posted 5 years agoMigration to my new account is complete! Just my favorite and most recent artwork is in my gallery now. I cleared out anything I wasn't crazy about and a bunch of the old refs.
I also included a lot of my pokemon and digimon fanart because even though it isn't furry, it seems to be popular here anyway.
It also includes my mature artwork (properly tagged of course).
So go follow me there!

catsidhesilvieMOVING ACCOUNTS > CatSidheSilvie
General | Posted 5 years agoSo, my friends, I have decided that I would like to move accounts. I've been using LadySilvie as a name for more than a decade at this point! Dang. But....... of all the people I watch and follow, the VAST majority are dead or deactivated accounts. I have old art I don't like and while I don't mind the LadySilvie username, I compete with a cam girl to get it on new sites haha. Plus, CatSidheSilvie sounds better since Lady has become kinda overused lately and doesn't give off the medieval vibe I was going for anymore. I've already been using that name on Tumblr and Telegram so it will be easy to switch.
I also had a separate mature login but I'm an adult and don't really care to keep them separate anymore. So.
CatSidheSilvie is my new account! I'll be spam-uploading things there for a while, but will be switching to that username going forward. This account will remain here as-is because it will stay totally SFW and as a sort of archive.
If you are interested in following me going forward, follow me there <3 I'll post again once I'm fully migrated so that if you'd rather jump over after all the notification spam is done, you can lol.
Some accounts/links will remain as LadySilvie just because they don't allow multiple accounts and/or they are just too messy to relink everywhere. So. Yeah. Namely, toyhouse will stay LadySilvie because I have a ton of characters and am NOT reuploading all of them and recoding stuff haha

LadySilvie Struck Again - and new Telegram
General | Posted 5 years agoSo, if you aren't aware, I've been using the username LadySilvie like everywhere for more than a decade. I've never actually ran into anyone else who uses the name Silvie spelled that way! It's been unique and close to my real name and I love it.
And then.
This lady. Starts using it. Just a few years ago.
And she does cam porn apparently? Not sure, maybe she is just spam.
But so her profiles have blown up and people have asked me if I'm her lollll
It's like when Silvie was a maned wolf and then maned wolves became popular and people started suggesting that I was inspired by their characters xD I got annoyed enough by it that I just changed Silvie completely haha.
With this new Silvie flaunting about, I've had to adjust my name somewhat on some sites, so far LadySilvieArt on Twitter and LadySilviesPets on Instagram, where I post pictures of my very full household of pets and foster pets.
Anyway, looks like I couldn't snag the name on Telegram, either, so. If you want to add me there, I'm CatSidheSilvie. Feel free to solicit conversation.
In other news, starting to do some commissions again!
Working tonight on commissioned ref sheet updates and have new ref sheets for the family coming out once the commission is done :)

Species Troubles
General | Posted 5 years agoSo, Robert (
robertvarulfur ) has admitted the reason he hasn't liked my furry art as much lately is because he didn't like the character I designed to his specifications...
YEARS AGO
That I redid a lot of our old artwork with x'DDDDD
And I don't draw when people I draw for don't care about the art lol
So, I'm bringing back the design of Patrick (his grey wolf character) and will do away with the grey fox design.
This also means I need to redo our hybrid daughter's design haha.
While I'm at it, I'm wondering if I should change Silvie's design again. She is still a black cat primarily, but since I have her original form as a silver fox, I question if I shouldn't just bring back an updated version of her red fox form instead. I don't want Silvie and Robert's colors to clash since that's how they get drawn most of the time, and Robert's grey matches Silvie's red color better than her greyscale.
So much art. So little time. Bleughhlhjfslkdjf.
So I guess, what is your opinion, person who reads this? Silver Silvie ( https://www.furaffinity.net/view/28916934/ ), or red silvie ( https://www.furaffinity.net/view/22697765/ but more foxlike with a long tail, etc)?

Reccomend Artists to Commission!
General | Posted 6 years agoLooking for the $20-50 range, maybe a wee bit higher if they're really good. Cutesy stuff, medieval stuff. Chibis fine. Looking to have cat Silvie drawn so hopefully good with cat faces <3
The last commission I bought was in February of last year and it still hasn't been delivered, so I'm kinda cutting my losses lol. I like throwing any money I make from art back into the art community and want to hear what artists you've had great experiences with :D
I do find it ironic that the second I change my fursona to a black cat, she gets the bad luck to not get a single commission of her drawn because I've been waiting on the first lol

Happy Holidays and New Year!
General | Posted 6 years agoWhat a year. I'm quite ready for 2020, let me tell you.
I will be working on some art trades and such tomorrow so you can expect some more art this weekend. I've been so crazy busy with cat rescue nightmare scenarios back-to-back that I haven't had any time for art lately. I had this week off work to watch my daughter while her daycare is closed for Christmas (it's in a church so they shut down all around every Christian holiday), but I ended up getting the flu from Sunday until today haha. So a week's worth of cleaning, celebrations, and owed art must be compressed into one weekend xD
Here's to hoping that 2020 will be much better than 2019 for us all. Cheers!

Happy Halloween/Fall Holidays!!
General | Posted 6 years agoAnd blessed Samhain to those who celebrate that... and feliz Día de los Muertos as well.
My favorite time of the year aaa
Of course, it is under 30 degrees tonight here and a freaking church is having a "harvest festival" trunk-or-treat 1000 feet from my house so we never get any trick-or-treaters *shakes fist angrily* but I'll be waiting at the door with full-size candy bars for anyone who dares to brave the cold to this witch's house. In three years we've had *1* trick-or-treater, but I will never give up. I specifically agreed to move to the suburbs ONLY because I wanted and was so excited to have trick-or-treaters again. Freaking churches ruining everything.
Tomorrow I have to work/judge a chili cookoff fundraiser for my cat rescue. I hate chili so it will be... fun. But hopefully we will raise the funds to help more kitties! Saturday I'm taking one foster to the vet, then a potential adopter is coming to my house to meet another. I'm going to be so freaking sad when she is adopted, she's my one-eyed previously-abused tabby who had stunted growth so she's like an eternal kitten. She's the sweetest and really bonded to me so if I didn't already have too many cats I'd have kept her in a heartbeat. Fingers crossed this adopter works out well.
And next week is my birthday :D I'm working on it, but at least I get a three day weekend due to veteran's day the following week.
Anyone have fun fall holiday plans??

Interest in Stories?
General | Posted 6 years agoSo those of you who have followed a lot of my art for any amount of time are probably aware that Silvie and all my other characters (and my husband
robertvarulfur's characters, also) have a canonical universe/story and then my modern AU where they are more self-representative fursonas. I've described the backstories a bit in ref sheets or one-off drawings, but it's never been written anywhere.
I'm a professional technical writer/editor, but haven't given fiction writing a try in a loooooong time and have been feeling the itch since a few of my co-workers have been published. I don't expect to be great at it (I am a nonfiction writer for a reason lol) but it might be fun!
If I write up the story in chapters or slice-of-life one-shots, would any of y'all be interested in reading it? It will be primarily a romantic medieval fantasy starring Silvie and Robert, along with their albino bat friends and other minor characters. Silvie will be a little bit of a mary sue just because some of the stories will likely be based on myself and Robert's actual stories (the reason Silvie was a were-bat was because I got attacked by a bat on our first date), but who cares since this won't likely ever be more than cutesy little stories haha.
If there is no interest, I just won't post it if I do it. No need to spam people. But I thought I'd offer :D

Streaming Options? (Stream Saturday!)
General | Posted 7 years agoWe're gonna have a baby-free weekend (Rosie is staying with her grandparents), so I thought I'd stream some stuff! Maybe a few freebs while I work on digital sketching again??
But, I have two options. It seems like Picarto and Twitch are the main streaming tools artists are using nowadays (sob last time I did it was livestream).
Which do you prefer? I got OBS to work for either, so it really comes down to where more people are. I know Twitch is MASSIVE but it does cater more to gamers.
Thoughts?

Cat Digital Watercolor Drawings for Charity
General | Posted 7 years agoIf you haven't noticed, lately I've been posting cat drawings like these --
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/30677811/
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/30677773/
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/30503863/
The proceeds of these commissions are going at least 3/4 to the cat rescue I am on the board for! Stray Animals Matter. We are an organization which focuses on Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) in the rural areas between Springfield and Joplin, MO, USA. Animal controls do not help cats in most of these towns because they are so overpopulated :'( So we are trying to catch and fix/vaccinate them to help reduce the spread of rabies and kittens. When we catch cats which are clearly friendly but abandoned or need medical attention, we take them in and rehabilitate them until they can be adopted out.
I personally plan some fundraisers, edit text posted by the founder, do grant applications, and act as a foster for cats, specifically cat mamas.
Just this month I started doing these commissions, and they've already earned $60 for the organization!!
They are a new type of commission I'm calling digital watercolors with simplified backgrounds.
They are $17 for one cat, $25 for two cats in one picture. Flower background of your choosing.
Of the $17, I'm just keeping $2 so it eventually adds up and I can get a pizza lol. I keep $3 of the 25.
If anyone is interested, let me know!

Eeek -- tattoos and new years
General | Posted 7 years agoSo I'm actually getting that cat tattoo on the 12th!! Hoooly crud. I'm excited and scared. A good way to start the new year haha.
My friends took me to meet the artist who did all their tattoos today and I showed her the drawing and asked about how well it would translate, and she was super excited about it! We talked for a while and she took my notes so she could translate my piece into something that would work well for skin. Essentially, the only thing we're doing is cutting the number of lavender stalks in half so the watercolor shines through the back and the stalks won't blend together as the tattoo fades.
She also really liked the crow one I designed! I want to get that one on my opposite arm. I'll do it if I survive the cat one lol.
Happy new year, everyone!!

Can you tell I went and saw an AWESOME KT Tunstall concert last month for my birthday? Haha. That lady is something else live, if you ever have the chance you should definitely go ;v;

Happy Holidays!
General | Posted 7 years agoHope everyone out there is having a good day/week/month :)
Been crazy here. First year with Rosie and of course that requires a lot of travel for the holidays. Yuck. I leave the house 10x more than before she was born, it sucks. Being an introvert and a parent is not very compatible, lol.
I recently became a board member/team lead for a new animal welfare group!!! It's pretty awesome. I've mentioned before how many stray and feral cats there are in my community -- we have taken in and fostered over a dozen in two years, out of our own pockets. Even when I was 9 months pregnant, I was diving under old houses to catch sick kittens lol.
I finally found some other women in the community who were doing TNR (trap-neuter-return) and fostering, and they had JUST applied for nonprofit licensing. They let me join their group and I have taken over the role of editing and doing what web design I am permitted to with their provider (ehghhh). I'm doing grant writing, sponsorship letters, and all sorts of other stuff.
But it's so cool :D Now that we have our 510©(3) status, we can really start asking for donations, and we'll be able to help a lot of the abandoned cats in our area. I'm going to donate a few pet portraits for auctions later in the year, so you can expect those eventually!
If anyone is interesting in donating to a rural community's TNR and fostering efforts, let me know and I'll give you the web link.
So between that, the baby, Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns, and Pokemon Let's Go Eevee, I've been pretty busy haha! If you want to see uncolored sketches related to those things, I've been posting them to my Twitter. What have y'all been up to?

*Where Else to Find Me*
General | Posted 7 years agoI posted this everywhere else but forgot to post it here haha!
Since FA seems to be a little less active than it once was, I created accounts on most of the other furry art sites so I can see if one is more active/if I prefer one of those. I'm using a multiuploader for most of them, but log in once every week or so to make sure I don't have any messages <3
I updated my userpage here to have direct links (under my journal), but if you want a quick list:
LadySilvie on DeviantArt -- also includes non-furry art
LadySilvie on Toyhou.se
LadySilvie on Weasyl
LadySilvie on Inkbunny
LadySilvie on SoFurry
LadySilvie on FurryNetwork
LadySilvieArt on Twitter (someone stole my username ;v; aaand she's apparently a sex cam worker...) -- sketch dumps
I also have mature accounts under CattheMarquise on most of those sites. Not very active, but I figured I'd give it a shot because why not :B
Since I can use a multiuploader, it doesn't take any more time to upload to all of them rather than just one or two, so I should be able to keep most of my favorite pieces up-to-date on them all. But, if you want a fast response, message me here or on DeviantArt since I'm most established/most active here C:

Late Summer Update -- Baby and Kittens :D
General | Posted 7 years agoHellooooo lovelies!
Ooooh boy what a few months it has been!
Rosie was born perfectly healthy on 7/16!
Birth details (no gross stuff):
I had been struggling with frequent bad migraines the last month of my pregnancy (which makes doctors really nervous since you have an increased risk of blood pressure/blood clotting issues when pregnant), and even though they are normal for me, every time I got one I had to drive over an hour to go to the hospital so they could check me out and make sure I wasn't dying. Spoiler alert, I was fine, thankfully! It just kept me from being able to draw/write/read/video game much at all in the last month, and it made it really tough to focus on my work computer, so I was very very bored and SUPER ready for her to get here. Due to my lack of natural progression they decided to induce me on 7/16 -- her actual due date was 7/17, but she was fully ready to come, apart from my body not wanting her to leave I guess haha. But, at 7 PM on 7/15, I got a horrific migraine, the worst of my life -- my arm and half my face went numb, I lost vision from one eye, I got dizzy, etc. Then crazy head pain. Those are normal symptoms for my migraines but they were like 5x worse. So, we loaded up the car and headed into town to be checked out. By the time we got to the hospital, my migraine was gone, but they still took three hours to make sure everything was okay, and then at 10:00 PM they told me I could go home to get about three hours of sleep before we'd have to turn back around and drive to the hospital for my induction in the morning. Rosie decided to make things convenient for us, though, and when I stood up to get dressed again, my water broke naturally, haha. So they said I wasn't allowed to leave and I wouldn't have to be induced! Woohoo! It was 15 hours of labor, but I still wasn't progressing naturally so they ended up giving me the drugs to speed things up so we wouldn't get an infection. That made it SUPER BAD to the point that they basically begged me to take the pain meds so I wouldn't pass out and need surgery. As soon as my meds went into effect, the rest of labor was a relative breeze. Within 3 hours of getting the pain meds, she was born! She had lots of curly brown hair and an average number of grey eyes. She passed all her health tests with flying colors, and so did I. I can already fit back in my pre-pregnancy clothes :D
She's nearly 2 months old now and she's been super easy for a baby -- she is sleeping through the night with only one 3-am feeding, she cries relatively quietly and always for a reason, and she hasn't had any allergies/sensitivities, which is a relief. I had to go back to work after 6 weeks of maternity leave (which isn't nearly long enough), so she is going to daycare and doing great there. Apparently all the little old ladies at the center like stopping by to cuddle her because she is the only one under 7 months who goes there and she is the only one who is usually happy haha.
Honestly the hardest part of my maternity leave was the struggle with the kittens. I'm thankful it all happened while I didn't have to worry about work, at least. We managed to catch the two sick feral kittens that were right in that construction zone in front of our house, the week before I went into labor. I spent ALL my free time with them to treat them for respiratory infections, fleas, etc. They were on eye antibiotics, oral antibiotics, and I was supplementing them with kitten formula. Both were pure black, the little boy was shorthair and the girl was longhair. They were both adorable once the mats were out of their fur. They started out terrified of people and the little girl would hiss and skitter away if you got too close, but after three weeks, both had become the sweetest little things. While I'd be nursing Rosie, the two kittens would curl up to sleep and purr in my lap, and they'd follow me around like a mother duck when I walked around the house.
Unfortunately, very, very suddenly, the girl got sick when they were 7 weeks old. They had finished all their antibiotics a week previous, but I noticed one morning that she had a slight limp. When I tried to get her to play with a toy, she wouldn't go for it. I was terrified she'd broken her leg or something so we rushed her to the vet, who said she was fine but had a fever of 104 :(( They gave her an antibiotic shot, and we got oral antibiotics, and they said she'd be fine in a few days, but it would take 24 hours for the antibiotic to start working. They also warned me that her brother had definitely been exposed to whatever it was she had since they'd been together their whole lives, so I was supposed to keep them together to keep her stress levels low. By that evening, though, she couldn't stand and her brother was desperately pestering her, trying to get her to play with him, so I had to separate her into a carrier. I spoon fed her kitten formula and water that she would weakly lap up as she laid on her side. The next morning she seemed to be improved, able to walk a few inches to eat/drink herself. But a few hours later, as soon as our regular vet closed for the day, she was even worse than she had been the night before. She couldn't move, couldn't lap up anything from a spoon, couldn't make a noise, and was wheezing. When I gently stroked her favorite spot to be pet, she'd purr gently, but you could see she was struggling. We ended up rushing her to the emergency vet, where they found her temperature had dropped to 96, and her lungs had filled with fluid. They recommended we put her to sleep to save her suffering, so we did. Of course I had to take Rosie with me to the vet since it was a rushed emergency, so rather than being able to stay with our little kitten while she drifted away, I had to sit in the car and nurse the human baby :(
About a week later, the boy came down with the same symptoms -- sudden limping, but I attributed it to the fact that he had just started climbing on stuff and wasn't the best about jumping from the top of them. I took him to the vet for his second round of shots and the vet took his temperature after noticing he was a little warm -- and it was 104 :( The vet was shocked he was still standing and eating regularly. He got the same antibiotic round that his sister had, but our vet gave me his personal phone number and told me to call him and leave a message anytime over the weekend if the boy's condition changed. The girl had weighed a full half pound less, and was obviously the runt, but the boy was huge and just a few days before had been perfectly healthy when we took him for his first round of shots. The girl had also had the worst of the flea problem when we first caught her, so there was a good chance she had been weakened by anemia even though the fleas had been gone for a while. The vet gave him a 70% chance of making it. By that evening, he looked the same as the girl had the night she had first got her antibiotics, and I was having a near-panic attack that we'd lose him too. It took less than 24 hours from the point the girl showed any symptoms to the point she was hypothermic and beyond help. I slept on the floor with the little boy and all the time I wasn't with Rosie, I was spoon-feeding or petting the kitten. He was so lonely without his sister, he'd try to cry out when he was alone, and even though he could hardly walk, he would drag himself into my lap before collapsing anytime I sat next to him. It was so bad that next day that I called the vet and left a message, and that evening at 7, just a few hours later, he called me back and told me to come by. He lived in a house attached to his office, so he opened the office just for us so he could look at the kitten and try to save him. We got there and his temp was still 104, and he was starting to show neurological effects of the prolonged fever -- his head wobbled and he was drooling. The vet said the inability to walk was probably because the fever was attacking his joints. The vet gave him another antibiotic injection and then gave him a full, cool IV bag to drop the temperature. It was horrific looking, the poor kitten got all swollen from the IV :( But the vet said the cool fluid would for sure drop his temperature, and hopefully buy him time for the antibiotics to start to work. He had about a 50% chance of making it. That evening, I went in to check on him, and he actually meow-trilled at me, and got up and teetered over, purring! I nearly cried with relief. He still was in pain, and his breathing was a little harder than it would be normally, but his lungs were clear and he was obviously feeling better. His temp was only 102, which was a liiitle high but not nearly as bad. The next day, he was even better. The IV definitely saved him, and I'm so thankful to our vet. He only charged us $20 for that emergency visit. We had paid $300 for the visit where the other emergency vet just put the little girl to sleep :( We ended up naming the little boy Corvus because he is as troublesome as a crow now that he is feeling back to normal, haha. And we foster-failed him, after all the crap we went through to save him, and he ended up getting along amazingly with our other two cats. After about two weeks, his drooling and limping went away, and he has been wild and crazy kitten since <3
We also ended up trapping his mama, Agatha, who we had set out to TNR months before! We took her to be fixed but she had a terrible URI also, likely the same disease her kittens had. The all had tested negative for the major stuff (FeLv and FIV), and since she was much bigger, the vet wasn't concerned as long as we could get her to take three weeks of antibiotics. Without antibiotics, she could die of pneumonia. Robert and I just looked at eachother and were like.... you expect us to give this FERAL cat ORAL ANTIBIOTICS 2x a day for nearly a month?? Haha! We decided we'd at least try, so we transferred her from her trap to a medium-sized dog kennel in our quarantine room, with a litter box, water, and food. She was very wary but she took to being in the house really well. The antibiotics did freak her out, but fortunately they were flavored, so other than having to corner her in her crate and grab her head while wearing leather gloves to protect ourselves, she didn't mind the actual medicine. By the end of the three weeks, she was actually tame(ish)! and she was better. So we decided to try introducing Corvus to her. They instantly recognized each other and they spent the whole day playing together. It was fantastic. And when Agatha saw Corvus coming to me for affection, she followed and actually came for head-scratches! I managed to get a collar on her, and introductions to our other two cats also went incredibly well. Our cats usually hate other cats, so I have no idea what it is about Corvus and Agatha that they were okay with -- but I'll take it haha. Since Agatha was no longer feral, it would be cruel for us to turn her outside, especially since she had her baby back and they were clearly bonded. So, she joined the family, too. So now we have three black cats, along with my husband's huge tabby haha.
All the kitties seem to actually like Rosie, even Agatha! They come over and sniff her head, and Corvus will curl up right next to her anytime I let him. We want to avoid the cats laying on top of her and smothering her, but so far they've been really good about not actually touching her unless she is in my lap.
So, things have calmed down!! I've gone to work for two weeks and got the routine down, and kitties and Rosie are doing great, so I am ready to start finishing the sketches I've been doodling... but my Surface Pro 4 was of course one of the like 5% that was bricked by the July Windows Update. Fortunately, they are replacing my surface out of warranty with a new model since it was Microsoft's bad with firmware. So today I'm shipping my non-working one to them, and in 5-7 days they should mail me my new one. I'm so antsy!

Midsummer Update C:
General | Posted 7 years agoHellooooo lovely people <3 Sorry for not being too active. Life has been crazy. Tomorrow we're headed to the hospital for an induction to get little Rosie to come, since she is too comfortable to come on her own :x Wish me luck. I'm very excited (and SO READY TO NOT BE PREGNANT after 40 weeks!!) and so is
robertvarulfur -- but so is EVERYONE ELSE holy crap. You'd think we were social people with how many texts/calls I've gotten daily for the past three weeks asking if Rosie is here yet, omg. Over the past months, every bit of free time has been spent with SOMEONE visiting or demanding we visit.... along with planning my maternity leave for work. You'd think with only getting 6 weeks, it wouldn't take months and months of training my replacement.... but I've spent 6+ months and am still anxious about what is going on in my stead x'D
One other exciting thing is that we have another litter of foster kittens!!! And these are all pure black which is my favorite ;v; We started feeding feral mama cat (a very young black cat with mint-colored eyes) four months ago to try to get her tame enough to TNR (trap/neuter or spay/release), but then construction suddenly started on our street. They DESTROYED it and it was horrific. We had to park more than a block away and walk through the 100 degree+, muggy weather, past bulldozers and over huge trenches directly blocking our driveway for more than two months. When the construction started, the mama cat (who I've been calling Agatha because she looks identical to my indoor kitty Tabitha) was terrified and stopped showing up for a while, and when she showed up again she was very pregnant and had kittens under our neighbor's porch (though we didn't know where she had them so we couldn't get them). We couldn't catch her and leave her very young kittens to die, so we've been searching for the nest and trying to gain Agatha's trust for the past month.
Finally, two weeks ago, we found where Agatha was going and got permission from the neighbors to do whatever we have to to get those kittens out before bulldozers ran the kittens over/they became too wild to find homes for. Yay! So we watched for a week and were getting really anxious because we didn't know where under the house the nest was, and their house is so old that their crawlspace is...... not navigable, to say the least :x I'm frankly amazed that house is still standing/hasn't burned down from all the crap someone stuffed down there and how many broken boards there were. I was of course 39 weeks pregnant, so crawling under there is literally impossible for me, but Robert tried and had to give up.... so our only option would be to wait and hope we could catch the kittens when mama started bringing them out of the nest. We were praying she would bring them to our house to eat since we have been providing for mama.
Then, that Friday, I glance out the window and go "HOLY SHIT THERE'S A KITTEN!!!!!" and we both bolt out the door xD We carefully go over and Agatha, who is used to me enough that she won't immediately bolt if I get within 15 feet, is laying about a foot away from the groundhog hole that goes under the neighbor's porch. And laying right in front of her is a little black floofball. Robert circles around to distract Agatha and I crouch/crawl up to the baby, only to see that he is very sick. His eyes are so infected they are swollen and literally glued shut with green pus. He was also wheezing, and when I gently picked him up, he didn't fight me at all. It was just awful :(( I felt terrible to take him from Agatha, but it was clear he wouldn't survive otherwise and I know we'll be able to get him a great indoor home where he won't be at risk of being poisoned by one of the less-kind individuals in our town >:(
When I grab the little one, Robert has gotten close enough to Agatha on the other side that she decides to call it and go down into her burrow, but he is able to spot there is another kitten just sitting in the entrance. Her eyes were also bad, though not as bad as the boys, so she could still see and she started to run. He dives onto his belly and reaches for her but only managed to grab her foot, and for fear that Agatha would come back and bite him/he might hurt the baby, he has to let go and the second kitten disappears under the porch. He was heartbroken and we worried that we might have lost our chance.
Over the past week, we took little boy kitten to the vet and he had a full work-up. Worming, two types of antibiotics for his eyes, oral antibiotics for his lungs, and we used a special kitten-friendly flea bath on him and spent hours combing nits out of his fur. After a few days, his eyes were able to open and he started following me around, then after a nice, long flea combing where he fell asleep, he decided he should indeed be an indoor cat xD He is the sweetest little thing. He sees us and starts purring, he cuddles anytime we let him into our laps, and we have four friends fighting over who gets to take him once he's weaned off our milk replacer and we have the chance to test his mama for FeLv once we catch the other kitten and can TNR Agatha.
A week went by and we didn't see the other kitten, though Agatha kept coming to us for food. We were so worried because on Thursday, construction started up again after they took a two-week break for the 4th of July, and they had the serious machinery out and were flying up and down the road. Friday they planned on paving and I was so scared kitten would either be moved to another nest site or get run over. Friday was my husband's birthday and Friday the 13th, and I was 40 weeks pregnant, so pretty much everything was working against us distraction-wise xD But then, as I was giving boy kitten his last dose of nightly antibiotic and glanced out the window, I see Agatha and another little black floof sitting on the neighbor's porch!!! I gently put kitten #1 down and call for Robert, and we bolt outside again. We are so excited and anxious our hands are shaking as we discuss what the best option is -- to try to bribe them with food (the paving that morning made Agatha wary enough again that we were scared she would ignore the food until we left), or to try to sneak in and grab the kitten like we did last time. I made the call to try to go after the kitten directly again, so Robert goes around the other side of the porch to distract Agatha again and I go up to the kitten and get it cornered. Her eyes were much clearer than before (still gunky as heck) but she was SO SKINNY and small, half the size of her brother and her fur was patchy from a horrific flea infestation. But she was a lot more feral and immediately starts hissing and trying to get away from me. I crouch down and reach for her and have to dive before she makes it back to the nest hole, but I catch her around the waist and wrap my shirt around her. Aaahh the adrenaline xD Enough for this year, I'd say.
Yesterday I took her to the vet first thing in the morning and he was so happy we'd been able to get her because, like her brother, she'd probably have died if we didn't. She did have a bad respiratory infection, though not as bad as her brother, but she was emaciated from the fleas. There were so many eggs it took us more than an hour of combing to get out most of the nits, though we were able to at least kill everything with my flea bath stuff. (Side note, all hardwood floors is the best thing ever if you ever plan to foster because we have never had to deal with an infestation despite all our strays :DD) She got wormed and is on the same antibiotics as her brother, and the vet said he expects her to come around and fully recover and be adoptable in a month or so. Yay!!
Once we got home, we introduced the siblings again, and while sister was wary, the brother was instantly ready to play with another kitten. She would panic and curl up in her dark crate with her heating pad and he followed her in and would curl up next to her, and eventually started grooming her. When she came around to it, he tried for a half hour to get her to play with him by batting at her and pouncing around, lol.
By the end of yesterday, she feels comfortable enough around me and her brother to follow him everywhere, including straight up into my lap!!! And this morning when I laid on the floor in the foster room, she came over and curled up to sleep on my side until her brother decided it was playtime and pounced her haha.
I'm so happy they are doing so well now and they were caught before Rosie arrived/someone poisons them or they get run over/eaten by a hawk/etc. Now we just have Agatha to worry about post-Rosie.
Agatha wasn't happy losing her babies and I feel so terrible separating her from them, but now that there are no more kittens we can catch her next week after my maternity leave starts and bring her to be fixed/vaccinated/treated for fleas. We will release her into our foster room for a week or so and if she shows us any signs of being willing to tame down, we'll keep her and possibly rehome her once she is much calmer -- if not, we'll open the door that goes outside and let her back as a true TNR kitty.
So, yeah! Lots of stuff xD Wish us luck!! I hope you all are doing well, also :D

Happy New Year!
General | Posted 8 years agoHappy 2018! Hope you all had a lovely holiday season and are recovering well!
It's gonna be a big year for
robertvarulfur and me. Our little one, Rosie, is due in late July, and that'll be fun and keep us quite busy.
Work is going well, albeit stressful and busy. But that's work, haha! Robert and I have managed to have a day off at the same time every few weeks which is awesome. We've visited family, had date nights at the movies, gone ice skating, and reorganized the entire house. We also finished the nursery waaay early!
Unfortunately when Rosie gets here, we'll go back to having opposite schedules so we don't have to worry about childcare, but hopefully we'll still get at least one day off together per week or at the very least, once per month. Either that or I will have to start doing a ton of commissions to afford childcare, ha :B
Art-wise, I'm hoping that I'll be able to do more doodles over the coming months since I will be working from home more often and once maternity leave starts, I'll have 6 weeks of being home alone with Rosie while Robert works. While she naps I might have doodling time, we'll see xD Fingers crossed she'll be like me. I was apparently a very easy baby and my mom was able to leave me alone for decent chunks of time while she got stuff done around the house. Meanwhile, Robert was apparently a nightmare. We'll see who she takes after.
Here's to a fun-filled, low-stress year for us all! :D

ROBERTVARULFUR'S BIRTHDAY TODAY!!! And everyone loves cutesy sappy crap, right? Otherwise you probably wouldn't follow my art haha.
Stolen from
imogeneyre -- if you don't follow her already, you should :)
1. Who eats more?
Probably me. Robert lives off of baked potatoes and is a stick.
2. Who said “I love you” first?
Technically me, but it was an auto-correct/sleep deprived typo (meant to type "I love taking to you") while we were texting at 2 AM while we were dating long-distance (after only a few weeks) and I didn't mean it HAHA. He responded back that he was taken off-guard but he loved me too :D So... both?
3. Who is the morning person?
Neither. We kind of rotate. He woke up really early for work for a while but I generally fully wake up faster than he does/I'm not as grouchy.
4. Who sings better?
We both are terrible. He says he likes my singing though.
5. Who’s older?
Him! By just a couple months, but he was a grade ahead of me in school. My birthday is in November.
6. Who’s smarter?
We are equal, but he's more into debate and studying truly random things just for the sake of knowledge. He is more "practically" smart. I got slightly better grades/scores in school and college though.
7. Whose temper is worse?
I get grumpy at technology being annoying and yell at my computer a lot but it is just cathartic/I'm not really "angry" more than annoyed. He gets hangry if he doesn't have his baked potato on time more frequently xD
8. Who does the laundry?
We do our own. He has fewer clothes than I do, so he does his more frequently. I would never trust him with anything delicate haha.
9. Who does the dishes?
Usually him. I hate dirty dishes.
10. Who sleeps on what side of the bed?
I'm on the right, he's on the left. He is VERY attached to his spot on the bed and gets very offended if someone is in it (me or the animals)
11. Whose feet are bigger?
His, but he has managed to fit them in my sandals before in a pinch haha
12. Whose hair is longer?
Mine is halfway to my butt, he could only dream of his being that long xD
13. Who’s better with the computer?
Probably me? I worked as a Microsoft expert for a few years and now I write computer manuals for a living. He isn't "technologically illiterate" though.
14. Do you have pets?
Yep - 3 rats, 4 axolotls, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 4 goldfish, 9 guppies, 2 domestic pigeons, and 2 ball pythons! We're big on rescue and I love aquascaping big aquariums.
15. Who pays the bills?
Joint accounts. I pay most of the utilities since I signed up for them, but they are under both our names and he pays his student loans.
16. Who cooks dinner?
I usually do, but we do Blue Apron together when we can afford it.
17. Who drives when you are together?
Robert haha. I hate driving and he's scared of my driving. I drive perfectly well and do to work twice a week, but he thinks I'm overly cautious.
18. Who pays when you go out to dinner?
Joint accouuunnntsssss but I let him swipe the card because in our southernish town, the servers/front desk folks obviously look down on him and judge if it looks like I'm paying HA
19. Who’s the most stubborn?
Probably him.
20. Who is the first one to admit when they’re wrong?
We aren't wrong very often. It's usually just a misunderstanding because we couldn't think of the right word, so further explanation means neither of us were really wrong.
21. Whose family do you see more?
His because they are only 1.5 hours away while mine are 3 hours away. Lately we've seen a lot of my family, though, because of the pregnancy/funeral.
22. Who named your pet?
Both of us, but I usually get naming dibs on critters I take care of. Robert only named one of the cats.
23. Who kissed who first?
He took me off guard and kissed me before we were dating, back when we were just best friends visiting! I was apparently a brick wall because I was so surprised haha
24. Who asked who out?
He kissed me. Then I kissed him back and we were pretty much dating xD I don't think he actually asked me out.
25. What did you do on your first date?
First date once we lived in the same city was to the local park, which has a huge cave. There was an endangered bat migration going on and we were watching it (like everyone else, it wasn't against the rules or anything and they had park rangers around), but one flew into my arm and I had to go get rabies shots xDxD Hence Silvie's werebat origins.
26. Who’s more sensitive?
Probably me.
27. Who’s taller?
Him
28. Who has more friends?
Him -- everyone at my work is pretty much at least 10 years older than me and has kids. My old friends from high school are in different cities doing different things. So.... not much socializing for me haha. I have my animals instead and spend all my time taking care of them!
29. Who has more siblings?
We both have one sibling. He has a sister, I have a brother. Same ages!
30. Who wears the pants in the relationship?
Neither. He is more strict with money and saying no to new foster animals (usually), but I am more practical when it comes to paying bills on time and moving forward in life -- i.e. after we had waffled and hinted to each-other about them for some time, I directly brought up getting engaged, picking a wedding date, buying a house, having kids, etc. and we went from there.
Now go spam his page with birthday messages xD
This year I got him the collector's edition Spice and Wolf collection. It's super pretty. And he has one more gift he hasn't opened/that hasn't arrived yet, stupid Amazon.

Happy 4th! + what is your go-to inspiration?
General | Posted 8 years agoLike the title says! Happy 4th to my American friends here :) We went to
robertvarulfur's home this year. He has always loved fireworks while I've always been terrified of them, and I got my I-told-you-sos in this time when the biggest multi-shot firework started launching out the bottom and hitting our cars/flying at people. It was all in good sport, though, and I'll still go next year :B I'll just bring a shield and keep a bucket of water on my person haha.
I was doodling a lot over the past month or two, but most of it is stuff I don't really want to post yet because of the subject matter. Now I'm kind of to a point where I have energy I want to expend drawing, but I don't have much inspiration. I'm going to hold off on commissions for a while because I don't want to force myself to put out anything I can't put all my energy towards.
So, I thought I'd put this question out there:
What are some of your favorite things to draw/ what always inspires you to want to draw? I always love reading when people write about what they are passionate about. Links to pictures, song/artist/tv/movie suggestions, artsy memes, etc. are all welcome :D
Personally, my inspiration usually comes from relationships, as you can probably tell from my gallery haha! I definitely do have doodles that were just "for fun" or based on media, but most of my most popular and personal favorite drawings stem from a particular conversation with my husband/friend/ex/family. I both love and hate it because, looking through my gallery, I can see a drawing and remember the exact place in life I was at when I drew it -- sometimes even the exact conversation and the feelings behind it. It's like a little window into my past and they help me to not only express emotions when I'm going through them, but also to remember things I'd probably otherwise forget.
For instance, I can look back at This picture and remember the time I was texting
robertvarulfur before we were even dating, and we were talking about how much we hated dancing. That was just before he offered to take me to my senior prom as friends because I had just broken up with my then-boyfriend :)
This is also annoying when some of my most popular drawings come from an old relationship that didn't end particularly well. Nothing like getting a "cute couple!" comment on a drawing of you and your ex from seven years ago, haha! But I try to keep those drawings out there and on my hard drive because I can still appreciate the memories and, if not the memories, the art and the effort I put into it.
To help this, I moved from my oooold account
silvermoon93 to here. So if you want a laugh, look through my art there xD
At the same time, I sometimes feel like some of my best pieces are very personal and worry about putting too much "out there" when I share them. I always love seeing those pieces from other artists, though, and I feel silly just leaving the art sitting in a folder, so I usually end up sharing them anyway.
Because of this, I'll probably eventually end up sharing the other drawings I've done in the past few months, but IDK when the right time will be. We'll see :B

RP Comfort Meme (Also, I have Telegram now)
General | Posted 8 years agoA few people have posted this, and I figured... whyy not? I'm feeling social ahaha.
I was talking with
robertvarulfur a while ago about RPing and I remembered that it has been for freaking ever since I did! The last time I RPed with anyone was back during my DeviantArt Digimon days with Tabitha and Floximon haha! And when he and I first started dating, which was around the same time. Since then everything's been too busy... but it was fun and I'd love to start it up again :>
I am comfortable RPing as:
*Silvie (Ref Sheet) (Toyhouse Info) -- default character because she's me ;3 Generally mild-mannered but socially anxious.
*Noire (Ref Sheet) -- only in RPs with Silvie, or if you want to be creative. She only speaks a magical witchy language/is otherwise silent and not overly friendly :>
*Stella (Ref Sheet) -- a sweet and friendly ferret/fox (ferrox?) who loves romance and girly crap.
Tsura (Toyhouse Info) -- wary and mischievous, but willful and devoted to those she cares about.
Dyanne (Toyhouse info) -- interested in moving-up the social and economic scale, high-class anything, and a schmoozer. Not very genuine.
*Cara (Toyhouse Info)
If you see a character of mine you are interested in RPing as, let me know. The ones in the above list with an asterisk are ones I have personalities fairly set-in-stone for, the others (and any not listed at all) are less pinned-down and therefore might not be as consistent haha.
RP Universes:
I am comfortable playing in the medieval fantasy style of world Silvie and Patrick are from, or in a more modern context. You are more than welcome to set the scene because it's been a few years and I am out of practice haha. If you pick Noire/Dyanne/Tsura and don't suggest any scenario/RP universe, I will lean towards something medieval.
Locations
I am comfortable doing:
- Comment
- Notes
- Telegram (I hopped the bandwagon haha. And this one automatically opens when I'm on my computer so I won't forget to log in like with discord x''D I'm LadySilvie there, too! Still working on Silvie stickers eerkk)
Participants
I am comfortable with:
- One on one role plays.
- Up to four people.
Post Length
I usually write about:
- One or two sentences.
- One or two paragraphs.
I am comfortable role-playing with people who write:
- One or two sentences.
- One or two paragraphs.
- Two to five paragraphs.
- More than five paragraphs.
- A few pages worth.
Role-play Requests
I like getting requests from:
- Anyone and everyone at any time (as long as you aren't creepy haha)
Romantic Relationships
Shipping
I am comfortable shipping my fursona, Silvie:
- Never, unless you are
robertvarulfur
I am comfortable shipping my other characters:
- Only if they are single/poly, and only if it isn't in a creepy way that seems more directed towards me than my character.
If you want to ship with my characters:
- Talk to me about it once our characters know each other.
Speed
When shipping my characters, I like the romance to happen:
- My relationships know no speed. They happen if they happen, but generally it takes getting to know each-other first.
Smut
When my characters gets intimate, I prefer:
- To write the build up, but skip the act.
Romantic Artwork
When it comes to artwork depicting our relationship please:
- Post it if it is cuddles and hugs.

Violence
When it comes to violent situations, I am comfortable with:
- I'm fine with verbal arguments!

If you are going to do something violent, please:
- Don't do it at all.
Dramatic Artwork
- Post what you like!

You do have to understand that if we RP, I have the right to draw your characters ;3 No guarantee, but I get inspired that way sometimes!
I was talking with
robertvarulfur a while ago about RPing and I remembered that it has been for freaking ever since I did! The last time I RPed with anyone was back during my DeviantArt Digimon days with Tabitha and Floximon haha! And when he and I first started dating, which was around the same time. Since then everything's been too busy... but it was fun and I'd love to start it up again :>I am comfortable RPing as:
- Never, unless you are
robertvarulfurI am comfortable shipping my other characters:
- Post it if it is kisses.
- Ask me before posting if it is anything more.
Dramatics
Violence
When it comes to violent situations, I am comfortable with:
- I'm fine with verbal arguments!
- Some violence, like a paper cut, or an accidental elbow to the face. Nothing aggressive.
If you are going to do something violent, please:
- Don't do it at all.
Dramatic Artwork
- Post what you like!

Tarot Drawings -- A reading and art! (Commissions Open)
General | Posted 9 years agoSo, while pondering my Medieval Furry Tarot, I started looking through all my decks... and went, "gosh, I miss doing readings for random people."
When I was in college, I used to take my new decks to the student union so I could go through them and admire the art while I was between classes, and about half the time, someone COMPLETELY RANDOM would approach me and ask for a reading. As the timid person I am, it was super weird at first, but they were always so nice and it was really fun. We laughed at some of the tongue-in-cheek responses my cards gave, and one lady even shed a few happy tears when the cards gave her some very specific symbolism that gave her a happy answer for her question (that I wasn't privy to).
Whether you believe in the "magic" of tarot or not, it is fun to see what the cards say, and they are a great psychological tool because your mind will interpret the meanings I give to show you the answers you already know, but just needed confirmation on. So it's usually fun and pretty spooky!
Then I thought -- hey, that would be kind of a neat combination -- a tarot reading AND a themed drawing!
So I thought I'd open some little commissions based on this before I launch into my actual tarot art! And thus, "Tarot Drawings," named because using the phrase "draw" in this journal has been very confusing because homographs.
The base price is $13 USD because of course ;3
If you get one of these commissions, you will receive a real, 4-card tarot reading from one of my decks, and a flat-color fullbody picture of your character of choice. They will be drawn holding the card that is pulled to represent their future self, and the mood/theme of the picture will be based on the card. I will also try to incorporate the predicted cause of the situation your future self is in if it can be done well. In the description of the drawing once it is posted, I will include each of the cards drawn and what they represent, along with a possible interpretation if you gave me enough information to do so.
IF YOU WANT THE DRAWING/READING TO BE PRIVATE (not posted online), LET ME KNOW AND WE CAN DO THIS VIA EMAIL. You also have the option for me just to post the art and card descriptions without your original question or interpretations. THIS MUST BE REQUESTED BEFORE I START DRAWING.
The card spreads will be [Past Self] - [Present Self] - [Future Self] - [Contributing Cause to Future Self]. I will pick the deck that seems to fit your character best.
For an additional $2, I can do a different reading type of your preference. Options include but aren't limited to:
-Relationship reading between two individuals (romantic or not)
-A 12-month outlook reading
-General advice on a problem (you can give me information on it or not, but if I know what the problem is it helps me to interpret the cards in a way that makes the most sense)
These are basically wing-it commissions based on what cards you get, so you do not get to see/approve anything before I post it! Take at your own risk, because some cards are nice, and some aren't... *wiggles fingers while making spooky noises*
That said, if there is any situation you do NOT want me drawing your character in (I won't draw NSFW or gore or anything like that, but skulls, swords sticking out of backs, etc. are fair game), then say so upfront and I will draw some other part of your reading.
Payment must be made before I begin drawing. I'll take 3 slots of these right now just to try them out. If no one jumps on these right away I'll use
robertvarulfur as my test dummy and draw up an example xD

If you are interested, fill out the following form and post it in the comments! First come, first served.
Character/ref sheet link:
In case "The Lovers" appears, preferred romantic partner? Or, prefer male/female/etc. random partner?:
Anything you WOULDN'T want drawn (bones, non-gore injuries, romance, etc.)?:
Regular reading or more complex for +$2?:
Can I post all the details, or do you want this to be semi/completely private?:
After I note you with my paypal address, send either the $13 or $15 over and I will get started on these this weekend. I'm going out of town until Sunday so these won't be finished until next week, but I'll have time to draw the layout and do the actual readings while I'm away :)

Medieval Furry Tarot? Tentative Commissions?
General | Posted 9 years agoOne of my favorite things is collecting tarot decks -- it is a fun way to support artists and you get 20-80 individual art pieces each time you buy one! Over the past decade, I have acquired (via gifts, kickstarters, amazon, etc.) 19 decks. I only read from two or three but I love looking through the individual cards and admiring my hoard haha. As far as collections go, it all fits on a shelf and you get a lot for your money, so I'm pleased with it haha.
As such, the major art project I have wanted to do for many years is create my own deck. I found a site that creates them and can ship them individually for ~$30/deck, so even if no one else wants to buy one, I could get it made for myself.
Lately, I've seen more and more artists here and on dA actually doing commissions for each card, which would help to provide the variety of characters/themes that my previous attempt lacked. There are also a good number of anthro decks, so I would be able to draw in the style I liked without worrying that it would look weird or out-of-place.
I'm getting back into the swing with art now and feel like I'm caught up enough I can start doing restricted commissions like this again without feeling frustrated with my work quality, but I'm hesitating to open them officially for whatever subject matter/characters anyone wants unless people express interest and I like what they want me to draw. I still want to focus on doing art that I enjoy since I won't make enough money for it to be any sort of real income, but a project like this shouldn't make me burn out since I will be picky on characters.
Most of the money from this tarot project and any future commission would go straight into commissioning other people xD I forgot how addictive art was while I was away.
This would be a long-term project (my goal would be to complete it in 1-2 years, which with 72 cards would mean one card each week, give or take for vacations/injuries/if I get really into it), and I would not take orders for the actual deck until I was certain everything would be completed and available.
I would probably charge $25/minor arcana card and $30/major arcana, with different prices for multi-character cards, and it would be in the style of this drawing here, with the fine lines and individual hairs (or scales). If you wanted the actual deck if/when it was completed (if I get a few commissioners, I would definitely complete it), I would contact commissioners of the cards when it was available/list it on my sites and you could choose to purchase it then, or choose just to keep your card only and not buy the deck.
The theme of the deck would be based in the medieval fantasy world canonical Patrick, Silvie, Tsura, etc. are from. More information here.
As such, everyone would be drawn in medieval-styled attire suiting their role in the deck. Backgrounds would be limited but also of that era. Commissioners would be able to suggest outfits (armor/dress style, colors) and buy however many slots they want, but each card would have to contain a different character (apart from the major arcana cards that would contain our canonical characters).
The rules for the characters would be the same as are listed in the informational link above, but I will copy them here for clarity:
*No humans, taur, ferals, or anything with a specialty bodyshape.
*No characters with really unnatural designs (bright accents of colors like Tsura/Dyanne's hair or tattoos are fine, but no hot pink wolves with lime green hair/etc.). I would be willing to adjust designs to make your character fit into the world if you wanted, within reason (i.e. making your character's striped hair into a more solid shade, changing
*No excessive hybrids (2-3 animals in an understandable design/adding wings to a normal character is generally fine, but no wolf/lizard/sharks with wings and 3 different tails)
*No excessive muscles (I'm not good at drawing macho characters and I don't want to make your character look bad!)
*Characters can have magic (depending on the card), but it can only be one color (no awesome rainbow magic) and minor.
*Characters can be noblepeople, but no high royalty.
You would be consenting to me selling this deck if I eventually felt it was in a good position to sell. I would not claim the characters as my own and would keep a list in a journal here and in each submission of who owns what character.
Would anyone have any interest in something like this? I can post a journal where people sign up later if enough people express interest.

One of my side activities - crisis counseling!
General | Posted 9 years agoI thought I'd share one of my side activities with you all, because it's such a cool thing, and the furry community is one that is fairly open about mental health.
I have my first shift as a crisis counselor tomorrow evening!!
If you've followed me for a while, you know that I originally went to school for social work before switching to technical writing because my school's program was terribly outdated and I was literally told to get out while I still could by half a dozen active social workers I shadowed/talked to at events... ha.
Since I switched, I stopped a lot of my volunteering because I didn't have time between my full-time job, part-time internships, and full-time education. When I finally graduated and got a real job that has regular hours, I moved with
Robertvarulfur to a house in the middle of nowhere, an hour away from a city large enough to have real volunteer opportunities outside of the 7-5 workday. I felt really guilty/sad/a little worthless for not giving back to the community, and it almost felt like I had picked money (even though I don't make that much... ha) over helping people when I switched career paths.
But! Then I found Crisis Text Line -- which allows you to volunteer pretty much anytime you want 24/7. And it has such a great format. As someone who suffered from anxiety and depression since I was tiny, I never could have called a hotline because I was terrified of speaking to people. This program lets people text in, which makes a huge difference.
Here's a cool TED Talk about it -- https://www.ted.com/talks/nancy_lub.....isis_help_line
I'm anxious but excited to start. They had several months of training before they let me jump in, so I feel prepared, but it feels so good to be able to use the stuff I learned in my social work classes.
If anyone is in crisis and feels like they need to talk to someone, definitely use the line. I've seen some of the conversations live, and people seem to really benefit from being able to talk with someone.
Also, if you ever just need to talk to someone and don't want to text/call a hotline, feel free to send me a note and I would be happy to listen and chat in a nonprofessional setting.
If you are interested in volunteering, I highly recommend this place :> You get to do it from your home computer and it's just 4 hours/week.

I'm baaack from the deead (and a sketch question)
General | Posted 9 years ago...again
So I got married to
:DD and then I graduated from college and got a job and we bought a house! All in the past year haha. It's been crazy.
But not having to work 3 internships + a job + college has significantly improved my ability to draw. I am doodling almost every day now, though I've only actually scanned in a couple. I will be working on them more often now though :D
I decided to stop offering commissions entirely for a while. Stopping my art when I got really sick a few years ago made me regress and I don't feel like I'm good enough to charge money anymore.... plus, with how long it takes for me to finish something, at the prices I used to charge, it would have only been paying $5-7/hr if I rushed. So I'm going to try to stick to drawing for myself, Robert, and friends. I will still do art trades, but I'll be pickier about who I do them with and won't be able to guarantee an immediate turn-around. Same for collabs. I might open again after a while but it won't be the same as before.
But it's nice to be back! I have tried to log in a few times in the past year but apparently my account got locked or something and I couldn't find my email address I used to sign up, so resetting the password was more effort than I thought it was worth. I did finally get around to it now, though!
Now onto the question...
Is anyone following me still active? It's been long enough I have no idea who is even still here, haha!
If you are, would you like me to start using my scraps to upload all the stuff I've sketched in the past few years? Should I do them individually, or cut/paste everything onto a huge sketchdump canvas and submit it all at once? Should I do individual themed sketchdumps (Patrick + Silvie, Silvie alone, one-off characters, WoW characters, etc)? Or, if I do the mega-submission with everything, should I put that in my actual submissions and not scraps?
If no one responds, I'll probably just start posting completed, new artwork here as I finish. I just thought I'd get an idea of what people were interested in nowadays :>
Now you go -- what's been up in your life for the past year?? We can talk if you want! Tell me cute stories or things that make me want to draw!

And it pretty much started here on FA. We met through a mutual friend in 7th grade but only became close through commissions and other art talk, eventually finding out we'd be going to the same college. We've lived together for a while now and he popped the question last month c: I figured as such I might as well let y'all know!
I got a purdy silver and topaz claddagh ring as a nod to our mutual Irish heritage C:C: I'll post a pic in my scraps eventually.
