And, thanks to a page i rather like, called
FACCC, so do other furs too!
SO.
I'll share with you all a recipe, which I MIGHT send to that page the next time I make it... And I'd like you all to consider sharing a recipe with me in the comments below!
Now, I generally don't measure ANYTHING... like... ever...
For measurements, just look at it. If it looks right, then go for it.
Here's my Tortellini el Brodo recipe! (Tortellini soup)
Take some generic chicken broth (for a vegetarian friendly option, vegetable broth works well too!) 2 cartons
A package of EITHER Cheese OR Chicken tortellini... Tri-color versions of these work well too. DO NOT USE BEEF/SAUSAGE TORTELLINI. It does not turn out very well... (NOTE: I favor bertolli's chicken herb tortellini, but any of the approved kinds will work. note that packaging sized vary)
Salt (sea salt will work, and it's better for you than generic table salt... you'll only need a pinch anyway)
Black pepper
Parsley (chopped fine- either fresh or dried will do)
Snow Peas (optional, but i HIGHLY suggest adding them... they make it surprisingly sweet...)
H'OKAY, SO... if you bought dried tortellini, cook them as per the directions most likely on the packaging... pasta is easy anyway. Then, pour your broth into a pot. I don't have sizes memorized, so just kind of guess what should be about big enough. Cook broth under medium heat, then add the tortellini. Stir in a few dashes of black pepper, a pinch of salt, however the fuck much parsley you want, and- if you want, a good amount of snow peas (REMEMBER TO REMOVE THE POD IF YOU GET PODS OF PEAS...). Cook on medium to high heat until it comes to a rolling boil.
Remove from heat and serve.
Serving sizes depend on how hungry you are.
Sorry this wasn't very detailed... but i never stop to measure things... well, okay, i do sometimes, when i use a cookbook, but mostly i just eyeball it and COOK.

I had a nightmare...
Posted 12 years agoI just woke up from the most terrifying nightmare...
It started out in an oddly, yet comfortably reshapen version of kenosha that seems to have been formed in my mind, in one quiet little corner where an elderly women had set up some elaborate, warehouse-like playhouse for her pet (which I think was a freaking hamster or something). I was getting paid like, $20 or something to go in and try to clean a few things up, as the woman was far too old to go in there, and hadn't for years. I entered to find an alarmingly elaborate two story outdoorsy looking area with small tubes for the pet to crawl through and a large river going through the middle... However, I also found that it had been inhabited by a neo-nazi terrorist gang who kidnapped me, only for me to escape and go on a tense fight trying unsuccessfully to find a way out, and being forced to fight them all to the death to escape, first with my pocketknife, then their own guns, bats, and the room itself, and finally, the last two, with a grenade... i fought them by hand and pushed one on top of the other, putting the grenade in his mouth so i'd have time to run after pulling the pin, but the handle got stuck! i went back and to release it, but it gave them time to get up before the grenade went off... then i was suddenly being chased by two horrifying neo-nazi monstrosities with chunks of their heads missing through an indoor forest grotto thing, so i jumped off the mini waterfall and slid down the river until i found a tiny tube that lead outside, i forced my way out and into a tiny varmint cage that i managed to push out of the way, seeing the oblivious old lady right before feeling a weakening hand grasping at the heel of my boot-
...and then I woke up.

Posted 12 years agoSo the other day somebady stole my pants out of the laundry, or at least I assume as much because I CANNOT FIND MY ONLY WORK PANTS ANYWHERE...
So tomorrow I'm going to have to go and buy new pants for $30... Knowing that the only ones I can buy around here will rip in about two weeks anyways...
So... People keep telling me that the more hardships I endure, the better things will be later...
WHEN THE FUCK DO I GET MY DAY IN THE SUN?
SERIOUSLY, I live in a city where everyone around me is rich and happy and I'm living in poverty...
It's like whatever greater power in the universe just shits all over me while giving blessing after blessing to all those around me...

I woke up at a comfortable time in the later hours of the morning and lurked on FA for a bit, just the usual generic everyday stuff.
Then I went to a follow up appointment with my doctor who had prescribed me something for my frequent bouts of extreme rage and constant anxiety attacks. Everyone was glad all around at my MASSIVE improvements over the past few months, and I got home after a very brief and pleasant chat.
I relaxed, lurked around online, sat around a dead chatroom on F-List... Same as any other day...
And then I checked my Email.
Mostly random stuff, like facebook page updates, automatic emails from shopping sites i've only used once... and for some reason an insufficient funds notice from my bank... Naturally i was confused, seeing as my bank account (which i can view online) showed that i had a low, but positive balance after my last purchase...
Apparently the online display and what was in my account were very, VERY different, because when i checked the notice, it said that my last four purchases (some chips and salsa, a few pizzas that were on sale, more chips, and a song on itunes) were somehow registered in the account as overdrawn purchases... Despite my account having been positive after buying them.
Unfortunately, these purchases each slapped my with a $35 overdraft fee... My balance is -$180 and some change...
Looks like that doctors appointment was one day too soon... So much for no more rage and anxiety attacks...

Posted 12 years agoGod... My life is spiraling out of control... I'm at a dead end job, I have no energy and my health is going to shit, I'm surrounded on all fronts by time/money hungry vultures of relatives, friends, and everyone fucking else... god damn... not to mention that it feels like everyone's abandoning me as a friend. I haven't even drawn anything of my own in ages and I'm so out of practice that every attempt is met with nothing but slur and insult. I'm spiraling into depression again, and I've been at a creative loss for a year straight. My tablet isn't working, along with just about everything else I need to make new art, and all of my old, brilliant ideas have already been copied so much that if I tried restarting my old projects, I'd just be hailed as an uncreative knock-off artist...
Why is this happening to me?

Starting my new job today.
Posted 12 years agoI got hired on at a Publix grocery store as a front service clerk (bag boy). I'm nervous as hell... Seriously, Publix is so focused on providing a good shopping experience that I'm worried that I'll screw something up. Because I'll be working the front, customers will be expecting the same level of customer service from me as from someone who KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING!...
I'm scared.
I don't even know the layout of the store I'll be at. I never shop there because it's so far away... I don't know where to clock-in, or what to do for most... things... God, I'm so nervous I'm having a hard time explaining WHY I'm nervous...
I'll be making minimum wage for Florida... (which I think is $7.79), and I'll be working around 21 hours a week (ish)... So about $160 or so a week. Eventually I'll get benefits... as long as I don't screw this up... And I mean HUGE benefits, like a retirement plan and stock options. That's all a long way off and I hope to god I don't get fired for being a failure...
