Ratties little guide to... himself
Posted 13 years agoThis an attempt to explain my personality in terms of my fursona, Rattie.
Rattie loves the world, and Rattie loves the life. Unsure when, but at some point Rattie made an oath to always to pursue the good. Do your best to make others happy, and when you can, bring some joy and happiness into the world.
In Ratties eyes, this is exackly what is missing: kind words and passion. People don't care about anyone but themselves. Rattie, on the other hand, cares about the people around him. He do realize he has to take good care of himself too; to be in good shape in order to be there when needed.
To Rattie, every day brings new opportunies to do good, and with that, the commitment to do so. Rattie don't do this because he must, but because he feels compelled to. It's like there's an internal flame that burns within him. His heart is boiling over the top with love and compassion, to a degree that feels like he is about to burst. Like a pressure boiler, his shedding love everywhere is a means of letting of the steam, in order for him not to explode in a cloud of crazy happy emotions. He must share this with the world, because he simply can't keep it in.
Rattie is too playful, silly, and very mischievious. He likes to play pranks and jokes and to tease those around him. Especielly the ones he loves. The more he loves you, the more mischievious he will get when you're around. But he will never make you sad. He will look you right in the eyes, and with a caring, yet playful smile tell you: "I am teasing you, because I love you".
Bound not by rules, but by his own conscience and moral codex, Rattie threats every single situation indiviadually. To Rattie rules are nothing more than a mere straightjacket, especially when the rules do not make sense, though you you'll find him play along, in order get where he wants. Rattie wishes to break those kind of rules, but he will refrain from doing so, if the rulebreaking would cause harm to others - no matter how stupid these rules might seem.
If there's something Rattie is missing, it's the recognition of his own worth. In his own mind, he is no better, than what people tell him. When people are ignoring him, he begins to feel invisible, and he slowly starts to question his own qualities. That's why he needs to act, do more and more good deeds, in order get that positive feedback he is so desperately seeking and craving.
Rattie recognize his place in this world. He recognize the role he plays, well aware of his personality, and he indicates this by wearing a collar. Though you theretically could put him on leash, he is ANYTHING but submissive, and you should think twice before even attempting! Ratties friends can play pranks on Rattie as well, in fact he finds it amuzing when people teases him back. Unlike ordinary pets, Rattie has the privileges to pick his own owner, in case he wants one.
Rattie really loves his friends, and among them, there's a selected few he blindly trusts not only with his life, but with his mentally wellbeing as well. The few who gets to this level of relationship with Rattie will experience what ratlove really means. That is when he start writing you poems, give you special gifts that pleases your heart, and he will tell you how much you mean to him, how valueble you are and how much he loves you. In very explicit words. He will do so, over and over, just to get your attention. And tell him a few kind words, and he will start to dance and jump around in happyness. He will do so, because he TRULY loves you, the way only a rat can love you. Forever, and unconditionally. He really just wishes to see you happy, because this makes him happy too!!!
