So I've been having problems with my scanner ofr years now, almost since I got it. My LiD60 was my companion since 2006, but it was time to retire her and get something a bit more modern. So I pony up the big bucks and picked me up a all in one. It's a Brother brand, so now I have a desk Bro. As you can see in my recent submissions it's working nicely with my PC instead of arguing all day before it would scan.

I'm off school Dec 15 for THREE WHOLE WEEKS. That means it will be commission time. I'm sort of putting my feelers out for interest now. I expect to have enough time for Five commissions done by Christmas. Considering I will have seven "Child Free" days where I can just watch scrubs and draw you filthy porn.

In one of my previous posts I did say I will be raising my prices a bit.

Old: Colour $20 + 5 per extra char

New: Colour $25 +10 per extra char

Not too outrageous I think.

Now right now I'm not taking commitments for slots, but I do want to get an idea of how many people are interested. A comment, or a note (if you want to keep it a Christmas surprise/miracle/present), will get you preferential treatment, which means you'll get a note December 1st asking if you are still interested. So far this year has been a mixed bag. I know I've been really flakey and kinda retarded, without any real explanation why. I know I've shared a bit of it off site with some close friends, but mostly it's personal, and family stuff that doesn't need to be on FA for the world to see. FA isn't my pity train.

So what's going on with Laine right now that she can share? Well I got into post secondary! Just yesterday I got a call from NAIT saying I got accepted into their business program. So now I'm scrambling to get all my financial stuff in order. With any luck I'll not have to take out student loans, since I has the first year nearly payed for. Well save for books. I'll know more on friday.

I'm not going to be opening for emergency commissions for this.

I expect to be open for Christmas commissions in November though.

I'm going to be working part time through school too, my boss has assured me I'll be able to keep my weekend hours through the school year, so I'll be keeping afloat.

I will be doing the Etsy thing though. I have many buttons just gathering dust around here, and a few other hand made crafts that need a new home. When I have that sorted I'll post a link up.

So my man just got his preorders for both Duke Nukem AND the new Alice game. I still have 10000 things to do becore AC. It's hard because we bith want to play but when I am making the art video games make me pukey, and the living room is the only place for arts right now.

Friday and saturday I'm headed over to the Utopia Music Festival to see Ani Difranco. That woman kept me sane in my emo because I'm a lesbian days and the chance to see her live just makes me pee myself a little. I just hope it doesn't rain on me all weekend.
