General | Posted 16 years agoI don't even know any more. I've been sick since saturday night, well friday morning but that was a hangover and that went away.
Urf my stomach is doing some horrible things to me right now. With the pain and the dizziness and wanting to puke. It's like the 6th already and I have work to do.
Atleast I'm vertical today, because I can't stand one more day of laying around not puking.
I'm going to be finishing up all the outstanding commisions I have. Then I'll be opening up for a bunch more, watch for it.

We also have lots of christmas presents to buy grandparents.

You send how ever much over paypal to laine(dot)nyah@gmail.com (preferably over $1) and post a simple description here (character + theme). My little helper and I will then collaborate on drawing you the best piece of fridge art you've ever seen.

General | Posted 16 years agoSo I've been spending a bunch of time on my super sekret project, that you'll learn more about on it's launch in January 2010. I might post some teaser art up here, but we'll see.
I'm still struggling to get my domain name. I'm probably going to have to wait till it expires and re purchase it under my new host. (I do not want to have to change my business cards again so soon).
Commissions: I'm planning 5 arts a week till just before christmas. Get some presents and stuff. Badges and 6x9's only.
Badge: $15 (3x4 comes laminated)
6x9 coloured: $20
+ $5 for extra characters to a max of three extras
Payment through paypal, or cash in person (for all you locals).

Fursuit realization
General | Posted 16 years agoWith the complexity I'm going to require from this thing, I'm not going to be able to do it myself. That being said my top choices for the job arn't taking commission in the time frame I'm looking for. I've sent out some email feelers to some of the other suit makers, but I'm not sure if I'm going to get any bites back.
The suit I said if going to be kind of complex, and I'm a bit picky on how I want my head. It's going to require some spot sewing, an knowledge of blending different furlengths together. Plus a short muzzle . If you know some one who's taking fullsuit commissions, that can work that, let me know!

General | Posted 16 years agoI got asked by one of my Christian friends if what he's heard about furries is true. Now I wasn't sure what he'd heard about furries, but it was safe to assume the answer was "yes".
Then I proceeded to shock him with strange details, thinking it was just Internet gossip, rather then just that CSI episode.
I in vision doing this again, and chuckling about it just like I did the last time.

Little Girl Starting School + Burn Out
General | Posted 16 years agoSo my daughter is starting school on the 31st. It's pre school, but still a big first for her. She's very excited. Another thank you for all the business at Athon that's making this possible.
With Pre-school I'll have a nice couple hours to get some work done at the library or the second cup down there. But Right now that's the only place I'm going to be doing work.
I'm feeling a bit burnt out right now. Well scratch the bit. I'm not really sure how to explain it.
I've been going nonstop since Feburary with art and furry and conventions. I love that. I love the people and the travel and yeah the bit of money I make too. But it's turned into a job rather then something I like to do, and I want it to be both. At least till I go back to school in 2012. But this constant state of stress and deadlines is really dragging on me. I can't enjoy it when I have a whole bunch of people counting on me to finish things for them, plus the million things I need to do for myself right now. I guess I over estimate my time.
Right now I've been trying to work on A-thon commissions and the few others I have but every time I pick up the pencil, I get all guilty about all the work I have to do and I just seem to obsess over all the work I need to do rather then doing it.
I think it's partly World of Warcrafts fault I think. I've been out of the game since May when I let my account expire. I've been playing since release and since BC I've been Main Tank in our small but determined RP/casual raiding guild. A lot of my RL non-furry friends are in the guild too, and I've made some amazing friends in the states though them too. This year we've had seven different guild mates come up and visit us edmontonites.
But I have a lot of responsibilities in game, including to come back and do that thing I do so the raid doesn't die a fiery death. Plus my inability to stop gaining achievements, and preparation for RP story lines leading into the new expansion.
I've told everyone I'm coming back after I finish my current commissions, but I think I'm dragging my feet a bit. i don't want to have to jump back into all that responsibility again. But I will, I just need some time to myself.
TLDR: I'm burned out. Commissions are going to be worked on, but at a slower pace. I'm explaining why so I don't feel as guilty about it.

I'm not going to be able to make it again this year. 95% of my animethon profits went to my daughters preschool for the coming year and as much as I well over reached my goal I 'm still not going to be able to do either of those cons.
I will be at Bellerose Con in St. Albert on October 24 though, making it my last convention of the year.
