Posted 11 years agoHEY GUYS IT'S SPRING BREAK :D This means I get to actually exist for about a week! ;D
ALRIGHT first event of the break, I'm offering a private 2 person digital coloring class :o) If you'd like to snag one of the $35 slots, please post here or shoot me a note stating so! If my schedule works out, I'll try to do a second one as well, but for now, count on just one!
I explain and demo some color theory, including color schemes, digital color wheels, and how these apply to value ("shading") in coloring and painting, including different types of lighting.
Then I walk through my process coloring skin and fur, hair, and eyes, applying what we learned before.
In a nutshell, this class will teach you how to choose colors that work better together for a desired effect, and how to better create value, depth and form in your works, and, how I personally enjoy coloring the most.
Every range of experience with color theory and value welcome, beginners to more advanced.
Preferably someone who has experience with digital art enough to navigate their program, drawing "skill" doesn't matter at all though.
I will be using Paint Tool SAI, so please bare this in mind. You are perfectly welcome to use another program for this class, but results may be different when we talk about my coloring style the second half of the class.
This private lesson is for only two people at a time. It costs $35 each, and includes scheduling at your convenience, and skype call with me and my lovely assistant Pinku ;D. I will give my lecture and then ask for questions. Then I will send you each a lineart over skype to color with me, step by step. You can send me screenshots of your progress as we go, which is really helpful if something is confusing or not looking quite right, and just to make sure things are going correctly. Additionally, after the class, you have some 'homework' (you can opt out if you want XD), to color one of your own works applying everything you learned from the lesson, and I will critique it based on the syllabus. This class is 4 hours long with a small break in the middle - if this doesn't fit your schedule, we can break the class up into two 2 hour sessions.

spring break: pinups and coloring class?
Posted 11 years agohey guys! it's finals week and i'm up at 1 am dreaming about spring break next week instead of studying ! (makes sense, right?)
i'm hoping to do some more pinup commissions, and maybe some icons, which i'll probably open later this week
but what i really wanted to give you heads up for is i'm going to teach another coloring class over the break!
for those who don't know, in my coloring class I go over my coloring technique and some color theory to keep in mind for choosing palettes :o)
they are small private classes, just two students, my assistant pinkushika and myself
the four of us enter a skype call and i'll screen share with you guys for a 4 hour class with a small break in the middle! I'll post more info about this later in the week and open the two slots :o) each is $35

Here is just an update on everything!
Been super busy but super happy for the most part! :o) Great classes great teachers great work (some poor health has complicated things, but I'm getting back into the game)!
This summer (or a little earlier), I plan to start offering more traditional work, including copic markers, watercolor paint, and some other supplies I like to use as well!
And I will start working on my secret project for koronous owners this summer, as well! ;)
For now though, I am almost caught up will all previous commissions, and plan on opening a couple slots soon after I get all caught up on schoolwork too!
What kind of slots do you want to see? Icons, chibis, YCHs, koronous customs?
Just let me know if you guys have a preference!

FIRST, a quick update/reminder! As you may or may not know, I'm going in my 7th week of college now. I thought despite this my schedule would not be too busy, but boy was I wrong! Monday - Thursday, I get up at 6am to go to school, get out of class at 4pm, work from 4:30 - 9 pm, and then usually do homework until 3 am. By the time Friday rolls around and I don't have class, I'm dead tired and I end up sleeping all day until it's time to work. Then I spent the weekend working, doing homework, and, with what little time is left, arting and maybe sleeping. I've been fighting my managers trying to get three days off rather than one, and finally this next week it will maybe be fixed, giving me more time to do, well, anything, including art -- SO I just wanted to slap a big explanation and a big apology out there for anyone who has had to wait patiently! And thanks so much, for those who have been patient and understanding. :)

I STARTED COLLEGE yup made it through day three just now
this is good and happy but also sad because I've been SOOO busy and I have 203948 homeworks and hours of shit to do
so I just wanted to apologize for being pretty slow these past few days while I adjust to college life! I still try to reply to notes and comments asap from my ipod on campus, but actual drawing is going much slower than before
fortunately every friday and saturday I don't have much to do, so I will be able to sit down and art for 48 hours before getting back to school (:

ps. is anyone interested in seeing work I do for projects at school on my fA, or just commission stuff? I don't really mind either way, just someone suggested posting school projects here as well but I want to make sure that is even something you guys would be interested in before boring you all XD

Color Theory and Value lessons (How I Love to Color! :D)
Posted 12 years agoHello, everyone! I've been developing a syllabus for a color theory and value class, which is now complete, and I've done a run of the class with some friends to work out any last bugs and make sure it's a useful class!
I explain and demo some color theory, including color schemes, and the digital color wheel, and how this applies to value in coloring and painting, including different types of lighting.
Then I walk through my process coloring skin and fur, hair, and eyes, applying what we learned before.
In a nutshell, this class will teach you how to choose colors that work better together for a desired effect, and how to better create value, depth and form in your works, and, how I personally enjoy coloring the most.
Every range of experience with color theory and value welcome, beginners to more advanced.
*(This applies to the private class only): I do ask however that you already have experience with your drawing tablet and art program (I will be using SAI).
There are two ways this will work:
I will offer very exclusive, PRIVATE lessons, as well as more public lessons.
*The private lessons are for only two people at a time. They cost $75 each, but include scheduling at your convenience, and skype call with me. I will give my lecture and then ask for questions. Then I will send you each a lineart over skype to color with me, step by step. You can send me screenshots of your progress as we go, which is really helpful if something is confusing or not looking quite right, and just to make sure things are going correctly. Additionally, after the class, you have some 'homework' (you can opt out if you want XD), to color one of your own works applying everything you learned from the lesson, and I will critique it based on the syllabus. This class is two sessions, each two hours long.
Public lessons are for about 10 people at a time or less. The slots are only $20 each, but it's set at a specific time based on my schedule, and I will lecture with my voice on LS, but no voice calls from anyone attending - though of course you can still type things. I will give the lecture, and then give the walkthrough of my process coloring skin and fur, hair, and eyes, and take questions at the end. It's much less hands on, but you still get all the information for a fraction of the price. This class is one session, about two hours long.
As many of you probably know, I'm a fairly busy person, and with fall term starting up in just a couple weeks, I will probably only do these every so often. I will try to do one of each type (private and public) in the coming weeks, before classes start! I just need to get a good mic, and then I'll post, opening slots for the classes! :D
