The reason also why the price is higher for these badges is again, third party printing. I pay for the shipping and production costs, and pay for shipping back to you.
These Acrylic badges are high quality plastic, the image is printed directly onto it and hang quite nicely unlike laminated badges that fly in the wind. The weight of these isn't heavy on the neck, still quite light, but are more durable than lamination are. Wear them back to back for dual sided badges, or use one and keep one as a keep sake.
I'll possibly be doing a round of wooden badges at a discounted rate later to test them, though I would say those are purely for display purposes only, I would not use the wooden ones as badges and heavy use in case of splintering. (I have wooden badges that I've purchased from another artist and I'm too scared to use them properly, but they make lovely keep sakes!)

I keep seeing a ton of journals of artists who have decided to join in on Pateron. I'm not going to condemn anyone for using it, that's not the purpose of this, but I'm wondering what your thoughts are on it. I think its a fantastic idea for people like
rickgriffin as he was the first person that I saw used it - but being a funded artist by his fans for him to produce his comics is what I consider a perfect usage of the website.
I'd love to have the ability to completely work for myself and have people enjoy it enough to chuck money at, but I feel the only thing I have to offer is to work for others and be completely commission based without use of the site.

I'll be finishing CKK and Fenris's art for badges today, and then taking a bit of time to draw myself something. I suppose its a gift to myself? I hardly get to draw Kalin, so I'll do something for her, haha!

The final day of my 20's
General | Posted 11 years agoTomorrow is the day I've been dreading. I know that I wont feel any different than I do today, and I won't feel any different than I do today, the day after tomorrow.. and so on.
For the last Decade I've gone and done some bonkers things, most things people wouldn't get to do in their entire lives. I've made some horrible mistakes and made some good choices that have shaped who I am, and who I want to be. I've made friends and lost some, have done some horrible things to people, and have had horrible things done to me. I know life is all about learning. All of the goals I wanted to accomplish in my 20's, some of them were unachievable to no fault of anyone really, the circumstances just never appeared. In my 30's I want to get better at what I do in art, learn new techniques and expand my style; get my fluff back off, get my drivers license here in the UK once I've saved for lessons (the only thing holding me back is honestly I can't drive manual, but I don't want to limit myself to an "auto only" license. :|, and for the record I -can- drive, I just hold a US driving license). Save for my first UK car, and then save for whatever comes in the future. I've been incredibly lucky that I don't have any costs or debts here in the UK, so I'll be able to start stuffing my nest egg and truly work out my finances and how to make whatever I make go the farthest that I can.
I've learned life isn't easy, and all of the lessons from my teenage years has been thrown out the window. I've learned more about how to survive in my late 20s than I ever was taught growing up. My parents did what they thought was best, but life lessons that I needed were never there. As a parent, I want to equip my children with knowledge about life, and living. I have had more fun in the last few months than I have in my entire life. I can easily say that this has been the best time of my 20s and with my family here, my 30's will be awesome. My depression has lifted, my stomach is better and I'm filling my time with healthy things rather than locking myself in my office and working nonstop. I know it's taken a major hit in my friendships here on FA, Facebook and my stream family, but I'm thankful that all of you were so understanding of what was going on. I'm normally a bubbly and happy person, but when stress hits and depression settles in, I go from naturally happy, to a forced smile to try to make sure no one knows what I'm going through. Suicide was very heavy on my heart and mind last year, which hasn't been the case since the early 2000's, and knowing how far gone down into depression I was still aware of what I was thinking and knew it wasn't right. As the days got worse, none of the right people would listen to me, so I had to try to find alternative ways of pulling myself out of it. Work and art kept me going. You guys on here and in stream kept me going. I was able to find my safe place and have turned my life around completely.
I feel like me, the same person who left the States. I don't feel like I have to meet anyones expectations, or that I've done anything wrong. I'm happy, I'm healthy, and I can finally say bring on the 30's. I know tomorrow is a new chapter of my life. A new number, a new start.
Thats the outlook I'd like to have, and I'm sticking to it. No more sadness, no more depression, no more poorly stomach. Just forward.
Thank you guys for not giving up on me, and cheering me on over the last 2 years. I'm so happy I have you guys even if I've become aloof on the internet.

So it finally happened =)
General | Posted 11 years agoI've been quiet about it here on FA to let my insides calm down a bit. I'm just excited that these last two years, a huge weight has now been lifted off of my shoulders and I no longer have to worry.
I am now officially a resident of the UK.
My heart pounds when I think about it, but it happened! I came home to find flags plastered everywhere and a wonderful welcome home from Oss's dad. He pulled out as much bunting as he had and decorated my office.
So for those wondering where I buggered off to... that where I've been.
It's such a surreal feeling knowing that even though this country feels like my own, I choose to be here. I want to be a Citizen of the United Kingdom, and I've done it in such a way that I help the economy grow, haven't stolen any jobs, and am a productive member of society. Now to let time pass before Citizenship becomes an option, and I'll pick which way I swear my allegiance. To Queen, or to Country.
Though to me its an easy pick. I'd swear my oath now if I could to the Queen. When the time comes, I'm sure there will be a massive party when I'm given the option of Citizenship. I'd love for all of my good friends here in the UK to be there to let me share it with them. =) Should be a year from now. \o/

General | Posted 11 years agoMorning! I wanted to give a headsup that I am now home. We aren't planning much this weekend as a nice quiet weekend really is in order. I've been working straight through from the end of April through to last Sunday, and have been trying to get myself back into a normal sleeping pattern but at least I'm waking up at 6:30 now instead of 5am. XD Close enough to a sleep in for me.
Confuzzled went well, but now I am playing the catch up game. Sketchbook to complete for my winner, my raffle winner from CF, and eventually when the winner of my art auction piece comes back, I'll be doing that piece. But for now, I have a sketch and some badges to complete and a sketchbook to get cracking on. \o/
Please dont note me about when I'll be opening my commissions. I cant give anyone a definite date, as I may reopen my badge commissions for those who would like one. I am also thinking of tailoring my badge style to be a fairly generic badge - so those who are either attending conventions or aren't can still wear it without thinking of CF. XD
Next year however, my badges will probably be all over the place. Wonderland theme! So excited already.
I've decided not to participate in the dealers den next year. I'll do my badges and sit in the lounge front to make it easy to find me to deliver. Aside from that, I want to enjoy the convention! The stress of preparing for a full month I don't think I could do again.

I do drink, yes. I will smoke cigars in the evening, so I can shower afterward and relax.

Table #11, Lapres - Box Owl - throw money there if you want! I stick to what I normally say. If you can't afford it, don't strain yourself to buy something. :| Same goes with commissions. People struggle unnecessarily just to get spiffy things. Makes me quite sad. T_T

Sure! I'm busy Saturday night, but aside from that I dont mind hanging out with people! I'm pretty open to wander around and love floating around the place. I hope to finally get to see some of the convention where as last year I only saw the Den the entire time.

A. Weird Accent thats slowly dying and not as thick. B. Might have my Kigu, Owl Suit, or Baseball Jersey on. Trust me, you'll know its me. XD Aside from that, Im not sure how my hair is going to look as I'm getting it cut tomorrow. XD;; We shall see!

Den, honestly. My room is just to sleep and I think most of my stuff will be in random rooms haha! Mostly holding my bottles of flavoured water, and snacks to keep me going in the den.

No one, thank goodness. I can pass out whenever I want, sprawl across the bed, and make an absolute mess and not care! XD

General | Posted 11 years agoI havent posted up who I am doing when because Im doing a bunch of stuff at the same time in preperation for CF. For those of you who ordered a badge, I am having to order you roughly like this. A few of you will be done in random order, but all of these will be completed for CF. I am behind in everything I wanted to do, and am slowly yet surely checking everything off of my list. I've been getting a lot of help here as well from Ellis and its made my life much easier by packaging and getting some of the stuff I need done out of the way.
So here are the badges to be done before the 23rd:
(I am erasing names as I go down the list, and updating the progress constantly)

And the mailed or Digital Only badges - I will have to do these as soon as the convention is over with. Im really sorry that I might not be able to get these completed right away, but I will be tackling them as soon as I can and get them out asap.

Guide Dogs for the Blind Charity Event from Outputt
General | Posted 11 years agoOne of the fantastic artists here on Facebook is holding a live stream event on May 17th which will be a 24 hour livestream illustrating what she hopes is 100 different dog breeds to raise funds for Guide Dogs for the Blind Association. Shes already raised above what she hoped for and the stream is no where near starting yet. Help spread the word and give her a boost. =) And go for a visit on the day. <3

Badges Closed - and 2 discounted EF Tickets for sale
General | Posted 11 years agoFirst off, we've decided not to go to EF this year. Financially Im going to be too strained to do CF and EF this year. Next year I plan on being a dealer at both conventions, and hopefully doing more than just that. I'm wanting to start saving for a car of my own, and that takes priority over EF this go around. As such, I am selling our tickets as I was given the OK from the Eurofurence staff, all I have to do is transfer someones name onto the tickets and they have tickets then at that point for registration.
As there is no refunds, its the best I can do. There are no rooms associated as I've canceled mine through the hotel. However prices are incredibly reasonable around the area, and I HIGHLY recommend the Novotel right outside of the Tiergarten. Stayed there previously and loved it. Wasn't expensive either and incredible location if you want to go sight see as well.
Selling them at 70 Euro a piece, so 140 Euro total.
I know its a trust system thing for this, but my reputation is obviously on the line if it fell through for any reason, and I like having a good name. :P
Being ran by volunteers, theres a few spelling errors in this, but I do have the legitimate e-mail if you're worried about it from the proper EF team found at the email address below.

That said I'll be working Saturday and Sundays now to ensure that I have everything finished in time and hopefully get destressed before the convention.

I completed 5 yesterday, 4 couldn't be posted at the purchasers request, and if I kept that pace up I'd be finished by the end of the week, but it may take me a bit longer to get through them all as orders are still coming in. I'm now closed for mailed badges that arrive to the commissioners before Confuzzled, so if you are attending, I will be bringing the badges with me to the convention. I don't want to mail out any other badges aside from what has already been ordered just in case it doesn't arrive before you go to travel.
The next badge batch to be mailed will be this week. 2 more badges need to be drawn to be mailed, so I'll have both of those finished today and try to get them all printed and laminated this evening, packaged up, and then out the door asap. Luckily I have most of the stamps this go around, but if you're in the UK, dont judge my olympic stamps! When moving I came across 1st class stamps from 2012. I'll take it! :B
