Posted 15 years agoAs some of you may or may not know, i used to serve in the British Army for 4 years,
And in an amazing Battalion, The Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders (Based in Canterbury)
I went out to Afghan in 2008, front line fighting / peace keeping.
A few days ago, on New Years Day, one of my close friends was Killed on Patrol in Afghan by an IED hidden in a compound wall.
He was 24, a big friendly giant, he leaves behind his wife and kid. completely amazing guy.

So please, next time anyone see's a Soldier, just stop for a moment and think about exactly what they do and go through.

Posted 15 years agoRight well basically, ive entered a competition, to meet the man thats responsible for getting me into reading, i was 17, never read a book in my life, and i given Cirque Du Freak, by Darren Shan for my birthday, since then ive ready every book he has and many more by other Authors.

Posted 16 years agoRight, after ages of watching other people draw, seeing the art that people can produce, jelously has gotten the better of me.
Im trying to start up drawing, but i have little to know talent for it.
Im trying constantly but failing, i have the imagination for alot of idea's but i just cant put it to paper.
If anyone has any good tutorials or hints and tips please send them to me.
Because its killing me that i can't draw all of these ideas swimming around in my head.
I really wanna draw so badly, my spraypainting is limited to hot windy days and lets face it, the UK isnt the best for that.
Please any help would be welcome.

When i first became part of the fandom as a straight male, i knew what to expect, so yea loadsa gay here.. a bit of gay here, lets click this link.. Oh! more gay, but i knew it was part of the fandom, so it didn't bother me, untill today i saw a picture done by Zen of Simba.. one of my all time fav disney characters, not just because im a Fur, but because he's a MAN! a man that FIGHTS! pulls CHICKS! etc he was sorta my wee idol when i was young, i used to play as simba when i was small when me and my brothers and friends played games... but... in this picture it shows Simba being taken... yes by a penis... that nearly every gay fur was fapping over..
No.... just no please.... no.... NO!! SIMBA IS NOT GAY, HE IS A STRAIGHT MALE THAT KILLS SHIT, ARM WRESTLES, DRINKS STELLA, DRIVES FAST CARS, BLOWS STUFF UP, AND LIKES TITTEH'S STOP TURNING EVERYTHING WITH 4 LEGGES GAY PLEAAASE!

After hearing that many cities did not want to offend other cultures by putting up Xmas lights, so DIDN'T!
After learning that the British Red Cross shops were instructed not to display Christmas decorations lest they cause offence. (A move which cost them my support thereafter.)
After hearing that the Birmingham council changed its opinion and let a Muslim woman have her picture on her driver's licence with her face covered. You try it!
After hearing of a Primary School in Birmingham where a boy was told that for PE they could wear Football League shirts (Aston Villa, Birmingham, West Brom etc.) but NOT an England shirt as it could offend others!
This prompted the editorial below written by a UK citizen.

Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on London, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Brits.
However, the dust from the attacks has barely settled and the 'politically correct' crowd begin complaining about the possibility that our patriotism is offending others.
I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to Britain. However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand.
This idea of England being a multicultural centre for community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Britons, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle. This culture has been developed over centuries of wars, struggles, trials and victories fought by the untold masses of men and women who laid down their lives and of the millions of men and women who have sought freedom.
We speak ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language!
If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture. If St. George's cross offends you, then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet.
We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this.
But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our National Motto, or Our Way of Life, I encourage you take advantage of one other great British freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'.
We didn't force you to come here. If you don't like it GO HOME!!

Posted 16 years agoOk so where to begin... I hate everything yup... indeed i do,
Im part of a fandom thats corrupt with and people with soo many problems, but woah! wait a minute, im Furry, so i guess I need have a problem too... I guess my problem is, i don't see why if people have a specific problem, they tell the whole fandom about it.. FUCK i am contradicting myself here and doing it myself, so god yes i must be Furry.
But seriously, some people do take it personal when you talk about your problems..
my own personal one is people that talk politics to a soldier thats been to Afghan and Oil, about how that is the whole reason we are in these countries, I done alot of special work in Afghanistan, alot of that shows just how much shite politicians talk.
through out my tour apart from upholding the security of the country, or as some "political people" call it, *justifying the right to kill people* BULLSHIT
i did kill people but they were firing at me. so fuck'em yea i killed some Taliban,
working with Tacitcal Intelligence, which i wont go into. also building wells, interacting with the local nationals, their country is underthreat from the Taliban, we are not there for Oil,
As a small example, Afghanistan is a house.... the Taliban are bandits... they have just broken into that house, who do you call? thats right the Police, the ISAF are there to help build the securty of their country, and i take pride in that, yet i come home and im told by people because they have done politics, or like 50% of the fandom think they know it, that im there dying for no reason?
But dont listen to me, im just a silly soldier that knows nothing about the world.
Just show a bit of respect to the people that do believe they are doing somthing good.
Someone once told me "Haha your just there dying for Oil and control"
That comment hit home and sunk in deep, if thats what the general public think we are doing there.
Woah.. this journal thing is wierd.. i ranted on for quite a bit.
Apologies to those i may of offended in this speel of mine, but for those that still think we are there for no good reason, or for oil etc.

Need help with my first Con Badge D=
Posted 16 years agoRight guys, ive been completely blowing out the art for quite some time now, due to work, car and drink, going to my biggest meet yet, in London on the 5th for the Xmas party, and i realised...
I don't have a con badge!
And im terrible at the whole networking thing, so i dont know of many Artists apart from those that are held in high views by the furry comminuty.
So!
I get paid on monday, and i was wondering if anyone fancied doing a con badge for me, to be ready before the 5th of december.
Or if anyone knows of some great artists that dont mind that sort of quick work.
