Put your title as "I'm --% Furry"
So this is garbage. Like, not even worthy to be an internet quiz. "You look for edible stuff often?" Literally every human ever has looked for edible stuff often. That has nothing to do with being a furry. "You enjoy scaring birds?" This question might help determine if you're a sociopath who is cruel to animals, but again, has nothing whatsoever to do with being a furry.
"You like to eat grass."
Really.
Actually, this is another "check the box if you are a human" question because the majority of all calories that humans eat comes from three species of grass--rice, corn and wheat. So, yeah, I do like to eat grass, or part of it anyway... this makes me a furry?
What most of these questions are really asking is not "How much of a furry are you?" but "Do you try to act like an animal in real life?" The two are not the same. For an actual internet quiz of your furryness, I suggest something like the following:
[ ] The aesthetic of an animal with human characteristics or a human with animal characteristics appeals to me.
[ ] I enjoy stories with anthropomorphic characters, whether in movies, books, comics, or other media.
[ ] In stories with anthropomorphic characters, I tend to identify more easily with the anthropomorphic characters than with human characters in the same story.
[ ] I often daydream about anthropomorphic creatures or characters.
[ ] I sometimes wish anthropomorphic creatures existed in real life.
[ ] I wish I could be an anthropomorphic creature in real life.
[ ] I enjoy looking at furry art.
[ ] I have drawn, written or produced creative work that could be considered "furry."
[ ] I have an account on a furry website like Furaffinity, sofurry, weasyl, etc.
[ ] I have paid for furry art, whether a commission, print, magazine, book, etc.
[ ] I have attended a furry meetup or convention, or I would like to.
[ ] The furry community is important to me.
[ ] I own or have worn a partial or full fursuit, or I would like to.
[ ] I don't aspire to wear or own a fursuit, but I appreciate those who do!
[ ] I have a fursona, or furry identity I use online/in the fandom that is different from my legal name/identity.
If you want to add up a total and compare it to others you can, but checking any of the above boxes qualifies you as 100% furry if the following is also true:
[ ] I self-identify as a furry.
Pass THAT around and post if on your wall! Feel free to suggest questions I may have forgotten. :D

Free Advice for Furry Raiders Regarding Embedded Symbolism
General | Posted 9 years agoSome free advice for
furryraiders regarding their symbol: you can't escape from the embedded symbolism of certain things. For instance, if your symbol was horizontal red and white stripes with a blue box in the upper left corner and a white paw in the box, people would look at it and say, "Oh, so you're some kind of "American furs" group?"
You might insist that no, this is an original symbol that you created to be a general representation of furries that has nothing to do with America or being American, but that would only confuse people. "Then what's with the "stars and stripes" theme?" they would ask. That pattern is so universally tied to the idea of "The USA" that you simply can't use it without implying a patriotic USA theme.
So you have a black symbol in a white circle centered against a bright red background. Worn as an armband. Sadly, someone else already did that, and they ruined it forever.
Of course you're not Nazi's. But your symbol implies that you're some kind of... I don't know... WWII/Furry Third Reich Role Play group? (Which would be weird, btw.)
If that's not the case, then you should change your symbol, bro. :)

ROAR Volume 7!
General | Posted 10 years agoHey, furries. Guess what? I just sold a story! My short story, aptly titled The Roar will appear in ROAR Volume 7 out this summer from FurPlanet! (Probably July.) The theme for the stories in this volume is "legend," and what could be more legendary than the mighty Tyrannosaurus rex? You like talking dinosaurs? Of course you do! Pick up a copy this summer! :D
9 is the Minimum
General | Posted 10 years agoNine is the smallest number of journal notifications that I can have. If I nuke the journals, the top right corner of the page still tells me I have nine.
0 = 9.
Not a big deal, it's just weird. Is it like this for everyone?

Zootopia
General | Posted 10 years agoI guess we'll have to endure a steady stream of Zootopia porn for the foreseeable future (and by "endure" I mean "feverishly jack off to.")
Work-arounds
General | Posted 10 years agoI knew there was a fur meet happening last night on Pearl St., and I also knew I wouldn't make it, but I was on Pearl later, looking for a still-open coffee shop as I do, and I wondered if I would see some lingering furries by chance. As it happened, I was reading in Star Bucks (not ideal, but it was still open) when a group came in sporting some tails and a feline head. They were hanging out and I was over in my corner and I thought about going over to say hi and ask how the meet was, but I also knew I wouldn't because shyness. So I thought, maybe if I get on FA and angle my tablet like so, they'll notice and come say hi to me. I knew they wouldn't -- why would they? You can't expect other people to overcome your barriers for you. But still, a man can dream. So it was a surprise when this latest crazy shyness-work-around actually worked. A friendly, obviously lutrine fellow asked if I was a furry and then high-fived me and then I got to meet/hang out with
kodywulf and crew for a while. Yey for extroverts! And stupid shyness work-arounds, I guess.
kodywulf and crew for a while. Yey for extroverts! And stupid shyness work-arounds, I guess. she looked right into my eyes
General | Posted 10 years agoI had a dream this morning where I was at a fur con, and I was at some panel on fur suit construction. My friends were there, in the back row (I was in the front) and I was somewhat concerned that they would figure out that I'm a furry (how they accompanied me to a fur con without knowing this was not explained.) There was a sort of hands-on component that had to do with attaching earrings to costume ears and it involved molding some clay onto the ear for some reason. Anyway, I did it wrong, and this girl that was running the panel took mine from me and showed me how to do it right. She had blond hair and blue eyes and she made deep, meaningful eye contact with me while she demonstrated the correct technique. I loved her.
I rarely make direct eye contact with people in real life (I actually try to avoid it) and maybe that has something to do with how, whenever eye contact happens to me in a dream, it feels very meaningful and emotional in a way that I still remember when I wake up. The climax to the best dream I've ever had was making eye contact with a wolf after wrestling with it violently. Eye contact is always positive and soulful in my dreams... I wonder why I shy away from it in real life.

Shyness
General | Posted 10 years agoSometimes when I drink it seems like I can get the shyness drunk and sneak past it for a while and have fun before it inevitably catches up to me again. Other times it doesn't work and I just spend all night thinking about how I'm way too fucking shy to say the things I want to say or do the things I want to do. Can't talk, can't dance, etc. This was one of those nights, unfortunately. Foxtrot was cool, I just wish I could have been there as more than an observer. I wish I were not a prisoner within myself.
No Subject
General | Posted 10 years agoI'm too shy to live. I could be dancing *right now*. I wish I could interact.
No Subject
General | Posted 10 years agoI don't want to just hang out around furries, I want to hang out *with* them. I wish I could talk.

Pearl St. Furries!
General | Posted 13 years agoI saw a pair of furries on Pearl St. in Boulder today, or at least one furry and her handler. I gathered that they were raising money for a new fursuit. It's always fun to see furries out in the world.
Nakoo's raffle

It's a picture of a male dragon getting sucked off by a female Argonian. I'm usually more into furry than scaly things, but I was really impressed by the "realistic" anatomy of the characters here, and their emotive faces. The size difference and feral nature of the male are fun, too. :D

I'm a patron of the (furry) arts!
General | Posted 15 years agoSo I'm not an artist. I wish I were, but I'm not. But if I can't make art, at least I can pay somone else to do it! As long as I've been looking at furry art, I figure it's only right that I finally pay for some. I ordered my first commissions last week at RMFC from the likes of Heather Bruton, Wolf Nymph and Rukis, and the results, now posted here, are even better than I hoped. If you like furry art but haven't commissioned any yet, I highly recommend it.
Male fans, Female artists
General | Posted 15 years agoSo I noticed at the Rocky Mountain Fur Con today that many or even most of the artists present were women, while a large majority of the fans in attendence were guys. Why would that be?
