Art Plans and Thoughts (19/10/25)
Posted 3 days agoHas been quite a while since I did a journal entry, so I decided to write down some of my art plans and thoughts.
In general, I want to flesh out and draw my characters living their lives and interacting with others in their world.
To be a little more specific;
- Reiya being a 'Courier', who delivers to a variety of monsters in different locales.
- Yin being an 'Alchemist/Doctor', who makes concoctions to aid Hunters, regular citizens, etc.
- Grey being a 'Chef', who serves those dining at a Canteen (and occasionally passes on his Retired Hunter's expertise).
- Agnis, Sumire, and Luna being 'Hunters', who have differing approaches and tendencies to 'Hunting'.
- Margaret being a 'Librarian', who provides guests with a variety of books to read and/or borrow, as well as other services within her Library.
Additionally, I intend to continue sprinkling in other stuff that I am interested in, along with occasional practice/study doodles (probably excluding my traditional practice sketches, since I don't have any intentions to post those for a while).
Furthermore, I would like to pick up animation again since animating was quite fun to do, and see the progress of animation being slowly drawn into completion (even though animation makes my head spin a little from having to keep track of all of the frames in separate layers).
Would probably dedicate another month to animation again since I kinda want to eventually achieve a level where I am able to draw half-decent short, animated scenes involving my characters.
Although, since it is Spooky Month, I think I'll draw up some "thematic" artworks before I really start get into doing these plans (ignoring that half of the month has passed already).

Art Plans and Updates (09/05/25)
Posted 5 months agoAfter the FurAffinity maintenance, I decided it would a good time to make another journal entry regarding some plans and updates!
My current plan is to spend this month (or at least a while) on learning how to draw faster since I have been getting a little frustrated with my drawing pace (and it is also one of my art goals to draw fast and well) ~ I have already started doing this for a couple of days, but FurAffinity was on maintenance and couldn't post them.
I don't intend to post them now, but I do intend to post the upcoming practice doodles now that FurAffinity maintenance is over.
Also, I will also be closing commissions to focus on this practice, yet I will still accept "Pageful of Doodles" commissions.
As for future plans (next month, or once I feel like my "speed drawing practice" is sufficient), I intend to spend a month (or a fair amount of days) to practice animation since that is an art skill that I want to learn and found fun to do (yet I have been neglecting) ~ However, knowing my past experience with animation, I might not be able to post the animations on FurAffinity since I did had a past issue regarding the files being too big to post (yet maybe exporting animations on Krita will fix that but I don't know for sure until I actually get to doing it next month).
To summarize this journal entry:
- I am focusing on drawing fast for probably a month.
- I am only accepting "Pageful of Doodles" commissions in the meanwhile.
- I intend to focus on practicing animation next month.

Upgraded Art Equipment and Art Plans (07/01/25)
Posted 9 months agoI decided to finally upgrade my art equipment slightly and got a drawing tablet for my PC.
Despite not being used to drawing on PC yet, I can already see the MANY benefits to being able to draw on PC ~ But the notable benefit is that I can actually consider animating again without having to deal with massive layer restrictions and lag!
Yet... I will need to learn how to use my drawing software on PC (e.g. Krita) first before I can even start animating, and there are also a few other things that I planned before that might be too difficult for me to animate.
Regardless, I am generally planning to build on my characters and the world they reside in, as well as draw characters from other games (and elsewhere) that I am interested in. Furthermore, I want to also improve on my weaker but relevant art skills (e.g. backgrounds, clothes, etc.).

Art Plans and Slight Update (06/12/24)
Posted 10 months agoHas been a while since I did a journal entry, but I have something notable to put down for a journal entry.
I am planning to spend some time to practice on my art skills because of three reasons:
- I felt that my art skills have kind of stagnated and want to make a shift in my usual focus to fix that.
- I want to speed up my art process and want to try learning a method that better enables that.
- I also want to learn how to draw animals since I have been in the mood of drawing animals recently.
I have already started to post my art practice where I am learning to greyscale, lineless, and draw non-anthro animals simultaneously, in which I am planning continue those and eventually delve into other subjects for art practice.
Hopefully with this move of spending more dedicated time to practice on my art skills, I will feel that I am improving in my art skills again.
On a different note, I have significantly dropped the rate of posting traditional art and well... I honestly don't think it will be raising any time soon.
On the other hand, I have been doodling a lot more digitally and posting those as compensation (although, I have been slacking to post those on FurAffinity)

Another Lengthy Update and Self-Evaluation (26/09/24)
Posted a year agoFelt like it was time to write another journal entry to overall talk about my experience of posting art online, as well as other things that I feel like talking about.
(WARNING: I have a lot to yap about)
[Social Media π±]
Recently, I have made and started posting on Pixiv and Kofi for different reasons, and I also want to state the differing uses of my other existing social media.
Pixiv:
- Basically will act as my portfolio (and eventually main portfolio) where I post only my completed artworks that I am satisfied with.
- I like the interface and performance a lot more than the one I experienced with Instagram and Facebook (though I need to get used to providing tags in Japanese).
Kofi:
- Posting extra art stuff that I didnβt feel like posting for a variety of reasons in exchange for a bit of money ~ However, I am figuring out what to add more on my Kofi to make the money spent worth it for my potential payees.
- It is also a way for people generous enough to donate or tip money to support my art.
Twitter (X):
- I post anything here, and is my main way of communicating with my followers (and non-followers).
- I sometimes post quick one-off doodles that usually donβt appear anywhere else.
FurAffinity:
- Similar to how I use it for Twitter (X), except I often provide more personalized and detailed descriptions for my posts.
- I also occasionally do these journal entries talking about my art experience online and/or giving updates on my situation.
Caard (My Website):
- My commission details, and slight portfolio.
- I need to replace some of the art on there, but there isnβt any rush to do it really.
[Personal Art Experience Online π¨]
Despite what I have heard about Twitter (X) (and other social media), it has been an overall pleasant experience. Specifically;
- All of my commissions with many different people have been pleasantly cooperative.
- The comments towards my artworks have all been nice to read.
- People have been respectful towards my decisions despite I initially saying I would draw something for them.
- There have been some odd messages here and there, but even they ended pleasantly.
[Plans π]
Iβve already said some of my plans in the previous sections, but in short, I am posting stuff on Pixiv and Kofi now.
As for the other plans, it is the following;
- I am continuing with my usual stuff of drawing digital and traditional art of whatever I want to draw (although, it is usually Monster Hunter).
- However, there is less traditional art due to me using it for a specific kind of practice. Specifically, replicating other artistβs artworks to learn from it, which I do not want to post out of respect.
- I also have been doodling a lot more digitally, which further reduced my traditional art posts.
- I want to do more animations, but I keep getting distracted with other things.
[Miscellaneous βοΈ]
It is very interesting to see what performs well and not between different social media platforms. The following are my observations;
- People generally prefer my Monster Hunter art, which I am glad since I also prefer drawing the monsters from Monster Hunter.
- People seem to specifically like my cute and timid Mizutsune boy, Yin, where he is involved in breaking multiple personal best performing artworks (which I get).
- Although, Dragon Priestess, Florissax, is my current best performing artwork on FurAffinity (which I also get).
[Final Thoughts π§]
There may be some things I forgot to include into this entry, but these are the bulk of the things I wanted to write about in this journal entry.
I mainly write these for myself, but if you are still reading this (or have scrolled all the way down here), feel free to ask any questions about this journal or my stuff in general.

Thoughts and Updates (18/08/24)
Posted a year agoI have finished up the sketches I did for my 200-Follower Milestone on Twitter (X) and am currently taking a slight "break" before I re-open my commissions.
As a result, I think it is a good time to write a journal entry talking about my thoughts (and give updates) on my art things.
[Social Media π±]
I'll keep this short:
- I stopped posting on Instagram and Facebook (but still has some past art)
- Now only actively posting on FurAffinity, and Twitter (X).
[Comic Plans π]
It has been about a month since I posted a comic page.
Unfortunately, I don't think there will be another comic page any time soon, since I am putting this comic on hiatus (and maybe even permanently).
There are multiple reasons for this, but to put it very simply, I just don't want to draw comics, and there are a lot of other things I want to draw.
It really sucks that Chapter 1 had to be halted halfway, but I don't want to draw the comic feeling that it is chore to do.
[Art Plans π]
While I don't plan to draw comics anymore (or at least, for a very long while), I am still continuing to work on the world (and its characters) that takes place in the comic!
I also picked up another art interest, which is animation!
At the moment, I am very much a newbie in animation, but I really liked animating and want to want to learn how to do it properly, and it also aligns with a lot of my goals and interests in drawing! ~ But the main thing is that I absolutely love seeing my creations come to life!
I already knew animation takes a lot of time to do, but seeing it firsthand definitely solidifies that fact I had! ~ Even though it will take a lot of time to do and learn, it is something that I really want to invest in!
On the other hand, I am still continuing to do regular illustrations, as well as the traditional sketches.
Although, for traditional sketches, I have recently been observing and trying to learn from other artists that I admire, in order to integrate this into my own art skills and improve as an artist.
However, these sketches will not be posted since they are heavily referenced from the artists that I am trying to learn from. As a result, traditional drawings might slow down in post frequency from here on.
As a result, I think it is a good time to write a journal entry talking about my thoughts (and give updates) on my art things.

Quick Update (16/07/24)
Posted a year agoHave been busy with drawing a lot of sketches for my 200-follower milestone sketches on Twitter (X).
As a result, I probably won't be posting on here for quite a while (until I am finished with all of the sketches, or I want to end the event)
I have been posting sneak-peeks of the sketches on Twitter (X) and could post it on here as well ~ But to be frank, it feels awkward to post those kinds of sketches on here (so I am not going to).

Simple Commission Update (02/07/24)
Posted a year agoMy commissions have reopened, and you can find my commission details here.
At this point, my commission sheet is pretty outdated so make sure to refer to my website for the most updated details!
Also, I decided to raise the prices for my "Pageful of Doodles" commissions from $5 AUD to $10 AUD, since it didn't feel worth it to do at the former prices (even though I was willing to be underpaid for those type of commissions).

100-Follower Twitter (X) Milestone (27/06/24)
Posted a year agoI hit 100 followers on Twitter (X) and wanted to do a little something for my followers ~ Where I am drawing a "quick" character sketch for all participating followers!
However, I also decided to give an opportunity for my watchers on FurAffinity to join in too.
Adjusted FurAffinity Rules:
- Watch me β¨
- Comment an anthro character (or an animal to anthromorphise), and a color π¬
This will last until the start of July!
I have finished drawing all of the characters for each participating follower, but now I am just fetching the names of some OCs that I haven't gotten yet.

Slightly Late "Heads-Up" (22/06/24)
Posted a year agoForgot to give an update on FurAffinity, but I have been taking it easy for the past few days to sink my hours into the Elden Ring DLC.
Posting traditional doodles should still be fairly normal, but digital artworks have halted until I finish the Elden Ring DLC (or once I feel satisfied with playing the Elden Ring DLC)

Self-Evaluation Full Stop (25/05/24)
Posted a year agoI haven't really done this before, but I think I will write a public self-evaluation on my art (and social media) journey so far because yes.
I'll probably discuss other things as well (e.g. my thoughts and plans).
[Art and Social Media] π¨
It has been a little over 2 years since I decided to pick up a pencil/stylus, and a few months since I started posting my art on various social media (e.g. FurAffinity, Twitter/X, Instagram, & Facebook).
FurAffinity and Twitter/X have been quite a pleasant experience and I honestly did not expect to get pretty decent traction for my art, as well as interact with a fair amount of well-mannered individuals here! (and I am very grateful for that!)
Instagram and Facebook on the other hand... they have been a bumpy experience and only seem to be getting worse in many aspects that I won't explain since it's going to be a whole essay if I do write them.
Regardless, I am grateful for the people who see, like, and/or comment on my art posts, and I am especially grateful for those who actually commissioned my art and had such a positive experience with!
But even though all of the commissions ended with a very satisfied client, I want to make better art that I am truly proud of and further satisfy my clients and audience, as well as potentially appeal to a wider (yet suitable) audience!
And to do so, I am trying to experiment with the tools I have and create the ideal art that I want that caters to my preferences, yet also hopefully improves the quality of my art.
[Thoughts and Plans] π
I have thought about setting up a Kofi or Patreon so I can give exclusive perks to my audience (and honestly receive donations to fuel my art motivation) but I am nowhere near big enough of an artist to start one, and it doesn't feel right for me to set up one.
I have been figuring out how to continue the Monster Hunter "comic" I drew a while back on whether to continue it on digital or traditional.
There are a lot more tools I can use when doing digital and the comic would benefit from an overall upgrade, but drawing the comic digitally also doesn't "feel right" to me that it is pretty dang disruptive, while traditional has the opposite issue.
I honestly think I'll continue the comic traditionally since I also like to draw other things digitally. It feels so much more natural and "easier" drawing it traditionally (If only I could draw cleanly traditionally, then this wouldn't have been an issue).
I'll probably discuss other things as well (e.g. my thoughts and plans).

Self-Evaluation of the "Comic" (27/04/24)
Posted a year agoContext (for those who may be interested in reading this journal entry): π
I have been drawing a scuffed traditional "comic" revolving around one of the ideas/concepts that I've thought of. Specifically, a concept around Monster Hunter where Royal Ludroth has a harem.
However, this "concept" stirred up like crazy in my head, and now it developed into a Royal Ludroth's expedition to rescue her kidnapped Ludroth from a Valstrax (to put it simply), yet I never really put it down on paper (until the last month after some deliberation and suggestions).
Now, I finished drawing "Chapter 0" and I am going to write a "shitstorm" about my thoughts and experience about this.
(Also note that this "comic" doubles as my art practice and is basically a draft).
Experience: π±
I felt like I significantly lacked the required skills for curating a "comic". Specifically, my current art skills restricted the number of poses/angles I could've gone for to better portray my intentions for the "comic". Additionally, I have no real story-writing experience and relied on my knowledge of what I heard "makes or breaks a story", as well as what I observed that made a story "charming" or "lackluster".
Even with all of those "lack of required skills", I think I managed to portray my intentions for the "comic" a lot better than I thought I would initially when starting this "comic".
That doesn't mean that there isn't anything I would improve on, there is in fact, a lot I would improve on that I would like to take into "Chapter 1".
Potential Improvements: π οΈ
There were numerous times when I felt like another pose/angle would be better suited to portray the "comic", yet I felt incapable of drawing it without it looking wack. So, I made a lot of compromises to the poses/angles to still portray my intentions for "comic" but also better suited my current art skills.
However, some poses/angles did best suit my intentions and were also in my comfort zone, yet they didn't achieve my standards (but I think this is just something that will get better over time, as I improve as an artist).
As for the narrative I intended to portray within the visual side of the "comic", I feel like the flow was a bit "choppy" and that I could've extended some of the pages to make it flow a bit better.
As for the "text" side, dialogue was spoken through "visual speech", which the summary for each page's post would try to interpret broadly. Regarding that, I feel like some of the dialogue could've been better drawn to better match the summary (although, some dialogue was difficult to portray through "visual dialogue" alone). Alternatively, I could've possibly achieved a particular narrative dialogue by planning the pages better.
Speaking of "planning the pages", I need to plan the pages better so that it doesn't have an unnecessary amount of space that I could've utilized for the "comic". On top of that, I need to have a standard set of panel frame designs that I can utilize to portray particular panels since the ones I used were inconsistent.
Lastly, backgrounds ~ They are the weakest part of my usual art arsenal, and you can see it if you pay attention to the backgrounds across the pages.
Inconsistencies: β
A good amount of the backgrounds for the "comic" are quite inconsistent and do not make much sense if you try to combine the backgrounds between connected panels and pages together. I honestly cannot understand how to do consistent and good backgrounds, but I would like to improve on this.
The sizes and designs between characters are also inconsistent, but I can at least understand how to improve on this over time.
A few "dialogue" and "summary" for each page are occasionally inconsistent but I already addressed them within their respective page, except for one broad one. It revolves around the proposition from the Valstrax to Reiya (the Royal Ludroth) where they give her an opportunity for a duel to rescue her Ludroth. This is a wrong choice of words and should be "a fight", as it is inconsistent with the related dialogue with the other characters (the pages should be changed accordingly, but this is just something I wanted to address).
Other Thoughts: π
Drawing (and planning) this "comic" traditionally was a pretty fun experience but also a tiring one, so I'll probably take a break from drawing the "comic" for an unspecified amount of time to do other things that aren't as tiring to do.
However, there are also things I still kinda want to build on and/or address in the universe set in the "comic" and the following are some of them:
- "How do you know the kidnapped Ludroth will be alive before they are rescued"?
- "What is the relationship between the characters"?
- "Why should you care for the kidnapped Ludroth"?
- "Where is it set in"?
I am sure there are a few other things I haven't discussed regarding the "comic", but these are the bulk of it.
Non-Comic Notes: π
I didn't expect to grow to this level within about 3 months of starting my FurAffinity page, but massive thanks for liking and keeping watch of my stuff (whether you are active or passive!)!
I hope you will stick around to see me gradually improve as an artist and become one of the "amazing artists " that I strive to be!

Updates and Thoughts (25/03/24)
Posted a year agoSo it's been a bit since I've opened my commissions, and well... I haven't been having any luck with getting any commissions, which is a little unfortunate.
But at the same time, it gives me the time to draw whatever I want to draw so I honestly feel pretty good even with the outcome.
However, the artworks I've been posting after opening my commissions, I have taken a liking to drawing backgrounds and it kinda makes my commission sheet kinda outdated, which is unfortunate and I probably need to create an updated commission sheet some point in the future.
Shifting to a different topic, I decided to start using Twitter (X) and Reddit.
Specifically, I am posting my digital artworks on Twitter (X) similarly on here (FurAffinity), Instagram, and Facebook (except I am probably not going to post my traditional artworks).
As for Reddit, I am probably going to use it to actively seek commissions and critique for my artwork (though I am already juggling quite a bit of social media, so I am not as attentive to this one).
I am going to continue drawing whatever I want to draw and posting it on my social media, but I am honestly curious about hearing what you would like to see for my future artwork (I might vibe with the suggestion and act accordingly).

Back from Vacation (17/03/24)
Posted a year agoI am back from vacation and can finally resume doing art.
To be completely transparent, I have been posting on my other social media (e.g. Instagram, and Facebook) during vacation but only for art that I have already created and posted.
On the other hand, I have been traditionally sketching almost every day during vacation and will be posting them periodically so as not to flood the inboxes.
Additionally, I also created my commission sheet to promote the opening of my commissions, but I am a little nervous about opening them now and might open them on a later day once I warm up to creating digital art after 2 weeks of inactivity.

2-Week Vacation (04/03/24)
Posted a year agoI am off on vacation overseas for about 2 weeks, so I will be stopping my art posts and responses until I return from vacation.
However... I am lowkey addicted to drawing so I might still end up posting and responding even when I am on vacation (but don't count on it).

Untimely Art Commission Setup + Other Stuff (29/02/24)
Posted a year ago[Commision Stuff]
I think I have finally set up my commission details sufficiently enough that I can start doing commissions for those who may be interested in my art!
However, I'm about to go on a 2-week vacation overseas soon, so I can't open my commissions yet.
In the meantime, you can check out my website which contains my commissioning details via the "Terms of Service" and "Prices" sections.
Once I return from vacation (I'll make another journal entry when I am back), I plan to start advertising my commissions being open through my social media and potentially start experiencing the art commission experience.
Technically, you can already send me a commission form to be put on a "waiting list" (but it's probably best to just wait until I return before you send the commission).
If you have any questions or thoughts about my commission details, feel free to leave a comment here or send me a note.
[Other Stuff]
For my posting frequency, I'll broadly say that I will post whenever I have the time to draw something.
Also, I intend to be a little more responsive to the comments I receive for my artwork.
To provide a reason for why I don't respond consistently, it's a little hard for me to find an appropriate response to the comments and I'm quite busy (honestly, I probably don't need to feel obligated to respond but I still want to try to respond as much as possible cause I appreciate them!).
On top of that, timezones are a thing so responding to comments on time is probably always going to be an issue.
[Rambling about a Potential Art Competition Hosting]
I've thought about maybe hosting an art competition where instead of making the best art to win... you would have to create the shittest art to win a prize.
I love seeing art that is so bad that it becomes a masterpiece, for which I legitimately would reward a good amount of money for (hence, the idea of hosting this art competition).
I've thought of 3 prize categories; "Objectively The Most Shit" (it's just genuinely really bad), "The Shitty Masterpiece" (it's bad but it has a lot of charm to it), and "Unironically Kinda Good Shit" (it's honestly kinda good but it's a little rough around the edges).
"The Shitty Masterpiece" would give the highest reward (as it is the reason behind this art competition) and the other prizes will serve more as consolation prizes.
Further reward categories could be added by separating the host's and community's judgments.
As for the rules, you would have to draw something based on a prompt so you can't just draw a bunch of incomprehensible scribbles, and of course, submitting good art is automatically disqualified (or at least, you won't be winning anything).
There may be an issue with publically labeling someone's art as "Objectively The Most Shit" but again, this is an art competition where the goal is to make shitty art.
There is probably someone who already did an art competition like this out there, but please let me know of any records of these because I can't find anything for this.
As much as I like the idea of hosting a shitty art competition, I don't think I have a large enough community to successfully host something like this (nor do I have the money to give out prizes freely).
If you actually read through all of this rambling of mine, I give you a metaphorical gold star.

Updated Art Plans (21/02/24)
Posted a year agoI have been attempting to set up my art commissions, but I have realized there are a lot of things that run under art commissions.
As a result, I will probably slow down my art posts to figure out art commissions (and hopefully set up my own where people interested in my art can potentially commission me).
By "slowing down" my art posts, I specifically mean that I probably won't post digital artwork as frequently (might not apply to traditional artworks but don't count on it).
Once I finally figure out how to set up my art commissions (or give up on it), art post frequency should return to normal (or it might shift, but that won't be confirmed until then).
Additionally, I think I'll just not state what I feel like drawing at the moment, and keep it broad where I'll just draw whatever I feel like drawing at that moment (as my interests fluctuate too much and too quickly).

Art Plans
Posted a year agoI think my Monster Hunter drawing phase has faded down where I don't intend on drawing anthro versions of the wyverns from Monster Hunter digitally for quite a while (maybe).
I want to draw more wyverns from Monster Hunter traditionally, but I am juggling a lot of other art pieces I've been posting on other social media. Hence, I think I'll take a slight break from drawing Monster Hunter for now.
As for what I am going to draw digitally now, I might focus on drawing my OCs, or other existing characters on the internet (but I don't know for sure).
Also, I may post past artworks of mine if I feel like it.
