Satanic Sex/Sexual orientation
Posted 13 years agoI have gotten a few questions about what the Satanic view is on homosexuality. To take a few passages from the Satanic Bible-
"Satanism condones any type of sexual activity which properly satisfies your individual desires- be it heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, or even asexual, if you choose. Satanism also sanctions any fetish or deviation which will enhance your sex life, so long as it involves no on e who does not wish to be involved.
Satanism encourages any form of sexual expression you may desire, so long as it hurts no one else.
Naturally, you should avoid offending others who mean a great deal to you. However, if you earnestly endeavor to escape hurting them, and despite your efforts they accidentally find out, you cannot be held responsible, and therefore should feel no guilt as a result of either your sexual convictions, or their being hurt because of those convictions."
So putting it simply Satanism condones homosexuality andy any other form of sexual orientation. Unlike other religions who would sooner condem and burn you alive for it, we say be as gay as you wish to be. Who in this world has the right to say you're wrong and a sinner for your convictions? "No person or society has the right to set limitation on the sexual standards or the frequencey of sexual activity of another." This is the way you are and you should be free to explore it.
However "Satanism DOES NOT advocate rape, child molesting, sexual defilement of animals, or any other form of sexual activity which entails the participation of those who are unwilling or whose innocence or naivete would allow them to be intimidated or misguided into doing something against their wishes."
And on a personal note always use protection and practice safe sex.

2 Year Birth Day
Posted 13 years agoGreetings everyone Alex here (aka
) and I would like to say happy 2nd birth day to the LVF Group.
Yes it has been 2 years since our birth and we are still going strong, and that is because of continued interest and support from all of you. Thank you very much to everyone and because of you I will like to ask for suggestions for this group. What would you like to see more from us or what can we change?
One big update I would like to add to this group is the availability to submit your own artwork. To submit something leave us a note and we'll respond promptly (please keep your art Satanic related).
Also I will be submitting journals once a month with passages from the Satanic Bible. These journals will be open floor discussions for everyone to participate in.
With that I bid you all a pleasant evening and a Happy Halloween!

Which Ring of Hell are you Going to?
Posted 13 years agoI apologize for the lack of updates. My work schedule has bogged me down. I've got a few journals on the back-burner, but, until then, why don't we try something fun?
I'm a big fan of Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy. I found a quiz that tells you which ring of hell you're likely to go to, and describes that ring in detail.
I'm hoping this will open up some dialogue: what does this say about Christianity's opinion of humanity? Would this be preferable to the dullness in heaven? How might Dante's interpretation of hell differ from your own?
But, mostly, this is just for shits and giggles. :P

The Dog and the Shadow
Posted 13 years agoThe Dog and the Shadow
”It happened that a dog had a piece of meat and was carrying it home in his mouth to eat it in peace. Now on his way home he had to cross a plank lying across a running brook. As he crossed, he looked down and saw his own shadow reflected in the waters beneath. Thinking it was another dog with another piece of meat, he made up his mind to have that also. So he made a snap at the shadow in the water, but as he opened his mouth the piece of meat fell out, dropped into the water and was never seen more.”
BEWARE LEST YOU LOSE THE SUBSTANCE BY GRASPING AT THE SHADOW.
Envy is one of the Seven Deadly Sins, the things that fuel all human ambition. Without envy, we would have little to no drive to attain bigger and better things. For this reason, Satanists embrace envy wholeheartedly. At first glance, it would appear that this particular fable of Aesop’s speaks against the envious mindset, but look again: the hunk of meat the dog saw in the water was nothing but a shadow! The dog attempted to obtain something insubstantial and unattainable, and he lost everything he had as a result.
This scenario is why Anton LaVey penned the the second Satanic Statement: “Satan represents vital existence, instead of spiritual pipe dreams!” It is normal to have aspirations, and commendable to follow through with them. But the Satanist knows to keep his aspirations in check. There are goals that simply cannot be attained, either due to personal handicaps or the boundaries of reality.
This is why, as a Satanist, people who aspire to change the world puzzle me. Human nature is a constant; history is cyclic; the world turns the way it always has. Life has dealt you a hand: it is best to play those cards within your boundaries for optimal results, instead of throwing them to the wind and hoping for the best.
"Everyone is trying to accomplish something big, not realizing that life is made up of little things." - Frank Howard Clark
DO NOT REACH FOR THE UNATTAINABLE. RECOGNIZE YOUR BOUNDARIES AND MAKE THE BEST OF THEM.

"I think its going outside boundaries that got us into space!"

"Life's made up of the little things, which is why instead of trying to change the world for all animals, I'm going to change one animal's world at a time."

"I believe that things like greed and envy are good until it causes you to infringe on the rights of others."

The Rooster and the Pearl
Posted 13 years agoI’ve read through Aesop’s Fables a number of times, and each time I have been astonished by how closely each lesson relates to Satanic values. This time, I have decided to record my thinking for the benefit of other Satanists, who I feel could make the most use of Aesop’s wisdom.
Every week, I will publish a journal comparing the moral of one of Aesop’s fables to our Satanic values, starting in this journal with “The Rooster and the Pearl.”
“A Rooster was once strutting up and down the farmyard among the hens when suddenly he espied something shining amid the stray. “Ho! Ho!” quoth he, “that’s for me,” and soon rooted it out from beneath the straw. What did it turn out to be but a Pearl that by some chance had been lost in the yard? “You may be a treasure,” quoth the Rooster, “to men that prize you, but for me I would rather have a single barely-corn than a peck of pearls.”
I find it uncanny how much this fable relates to my previous journal, wherein I discussed the value system utilized by the everyday Satanist. Where our value system is subjective, the value system outlined by Aesop is objective. What in the hell would the rooster need a pearl for? It is useless to him, no matter how much the Rooster treasures it. The rooster utilizes this objective value system appropriately when he equates the pearl, a treasure to men, with a barley-corn, a treasure to roosters.
The value system we use as Satanists is indeed ours to command, but we must command it with our rationale, not our emotions. Let’s take the example of bowling with your shit friend from the previous journal: giving that activity little to no value is perfectly reasonable in the context of emotion. But what if that shit friend has something you desire, and bowling with him would help butter him up? Obviously, you would place a much higher value on that activity.
Remember: we Satanists are calculated hedonists, not creatures of brash impulse. Emotions are indeed valuable to us, but we cannot let them alone dictate our values, lest they cloud our respective visions altogether.

"Another man's trash is another man's treasure."

PRECIOUS THINGS ARE FOR THOSE THAT CAN PRIZE THEM.

Time
Posted 13 years ago"I believe every human has a finite number of heartbeats. I don't intend to waste any of mine." -Neil Armstrong
Our lives can be measured in seconds; with every passing second, we wither away.
Today's society has a fetish for making everyone feel special. As Satanists, we know this isn't the case. All humans place values on people and activities, but this system of values is suppressed by society so nobody's feelings are hurt.
Instead of telling somebody you won't go bowling with them because you consider them a shit person, or consider bowling a shit sport, society encourages us to go out of our way to make up and excuse, or to entertain the person for their sake.
The Satanist takes full advantage of the value system. Why waste precious seconds interacting with people or participating in activities we don't value? Society is quick to label us assholes for being blunt with people in terms of how we regard them and their interests.
The thing is, we have little time to be anything else but blunt. In fact, we have far too little time to care! There's a reason why jobs pay by the hour: time is the most valuable resource we have.

"Always enjoy doing the things you like, not what others want you to do or like."
"Telling people what they need to hear is for their own good, and self-betterment."

Atheism vs. Satanism
Posted 13 years agoA question I'm commonly asked as a LaVeyan Satanist is: "What's the difference between Satanism and Atheism?" These are individuals who understand what our religion is about. And to be honest, they make a good point: a good number of our core beliefs - like indulgence and secularism - are held by Atheists across the board. What makes us so different?
The difference is doctrine. Atheists have no core beliefs set in stone beyond a lack of belief in God. Sharing the core values most Atheists share isn't required to be an Atheist.
Satanists, however, follow specific guidelines, such as the Eleven Rules of the Earth. Members of our group are Atheists who fit a certain niche, both in philosophy and personality. I've often thought of Satanism as an elite club of Atheists, who are very exclusive as to who they let in.
"Not all Atheists are Satanists, but all Satanists are Atheists."

New Group to FA
Posted 13 years ago

There's a new group to Furaffinity that I believe has a worthy cause. The group is called Fursupport and their goal is to provide support to anyone who is having emotional issues ranging from Anxiety to Suicide. LaVeyan Furs is a proud affiliate of this group and is willing to provide any help that it can.

Why we call it Satanism
Posted 13 years agoMany have been wondering why we decide to go by the name Satanism. The name "was consciously designed to be an adversary to existing "spiritual" belief systems. It was the first organization promulgating a religious philosophy championing Satan as the symbol of liberty and individualism." - Magus Peter H. Gilmore
So yes, we use the name to make people question "God" and their faith (something Satan was very gifted at). It is not an open challenge to everyone of faith, it's more of an invitation to those who feel lost or are in doubt. We invite you to put yourself first and do what ever it takes to be happy.
Regie Satanas!
Ave Satanas!
Hail Satan!

The Wickedest Man in the World
Posted 13 years agoWhen Anton LaVey penned The Satanic Bible, he took his inspiration from likeminded philosophers, like Ayn Rand and Friedrich Nietzsche. Aleister Crowley, dubbed “The Wickedest Man in the World” by the press of his day, was one of these philosophers.
Aleister Crowley founded the religion of Thelema in 1920. The religion’s central scripture, The Book of the Law, contains many of the same ideas as The Satanic Bible, so much so that I believe The Book of the Law is a valuable companion to the core Satanic scriptures.
Here are some of my favorite lines from The Book of the Law.
Every man and woman is a star. (I:3)
These are fools that men adore; both their Gods and their men are fools. (I:11)
I am above you and in you. My ecstasy is in yours. My joy is to see your joy. (I:13)
Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. (I:40)
Love is the law, love under will. (I:57)
We have nothing with the outcast and the unfit: let them die in their misery (II:21)
I am alone. There is no God where I am. (II:23)

Selective Indulgence
Posted 13 years agoHigh Priest Peter Gilmore discusses indulgence in his book The Satanic Scriptures, an expansion upon Anton LaVey’s The Satanic Bible. Gilmore’s idea of what is categorized as indulgence may seem different than LaVey’s on the surface – he advocates selective indulgence, instead of indulging whenever the fancy strikes – but in actuality, it cuts to the very heart of Satanic philosophy.
Those of you who know me would know that I’ve been on a Twinkie binge as of late, keeping dashes on my page for each cake consumed like notches in a rifle butt for each kill. You would also know that I stopped the count at 40, and have been eating healthy since. I still love Twinkies, but consuming them in such volume was damaging my body. I put on a noticeable amount of weight, and don’t get me started on my digestion...
But now that I’ve “quit” my Twinkie habit, I’ve never adored Twinkies more. Consuming them sparingly has increased their value: they are treats, instead of another serving of the same. In addition, I’m healthy as a horse, especially now that I’ve refrained from drinking soda. This doesn’t mean that I feel guilt for my indulgences – I don’t think anybody should – but I have learned to choose when to indulge, and I’m better for it.
The whole point of Satanism is to enjoy your life to the fullest. But that doesn’t mean you become a slave to your vices. You are their master! By mastering your vices, you gain a life of richer quality: both from good health and the intensification of the pleasure your vices give you.
Sin responsibly. Hail Satan!

Superiority Complex
Posted 13 years agoI've noticed this for a while now. Most Christians I know seem to have a superiority complex about them just because of their faith. Every time they wanted to do something that was 'wrong' they would always say "But that wouldn't be Christian of me." and they would do the 'right' thing instead. There have also been countless times where I would hear people say "that's not Christian" or "being a Christian I..." and many other references where they would have to point out that they're Christian. Like that somehow makes them a better person in some way or another. Now I know not every Christian feels and thinks this way.
This got me wondering; how may of us Satanists feel superior to anyone else just because of what we choose to believe in.
I would like to point out that as Satanists we are neither superior nor inferior to our fellow man. What we choose to believe in (creed), race, sexual orientation or any other irrelevant trait, are not grounds to say "we are better". The only thing that should distinguish us from one another ARE OUR ACTIONS.
-Alex
P.S. This is not a stab at Christianity or grounds to start flaming anyone.
Please keep mud slinging and christian bashing out of the comments.

Karma
Posted 13 years ago4. Satan represents kindness to those who deserve it, instead of love wasted on ingrates!
This is one of the many rules I go by in my day to day life. I know many Satanists, or indeed nearly anyone non-Christian can often be labelled as being a bad person; frankly, I probably am. But does that stop me from helping others? No it does not!
So what of karma? Many times in my life I've gone out of my way to help others, the deserving, and yes I've even broken the statement above and wasted my time and effort on people who didn't deserve it (of course it did bite me in the ass in the long run). What I haven't found, however, is much of this in return. To some extent I always believed in the idea of kindness gets you kindness back; and in some cases yes, it has happened. But more often than not I'm stuck finding that karma is just a load of crap. People will constantly tell me "it's karma, it'll come back to help you, etc. etc." yet I've not seen decent returns on my deeds.
One example is of the last few days. As my grandfather was a victim of cancer, I always promised myself that I'd help out against it in some way. I'm not one for parades and stickers and pins and whatnot; so I chose to donate blood. Not only that, I've always wanted to give blood, purely cause I believe it's an easy thing to do and it helps those in need (one whole blood donation can save 3 lives).
So the other day, I head to the blood donation centre; 100% fine on all their tests except one - my pulse was too high. 4 beats too high. So because of this, my 2 hour trip on 4 buses was all wasted. I had to take the same amount and go back home, not losing more than the finger prick test's worth of blood. They also told me to go to my doctor in case of any heart issues I may have; and as I predicted and even insisted to them on the day - All I had was a slightly faster heart rate due to abundant stress. So two whole days were wasted; all because I wanted to do good for another.
Therefore, I ask; what of karma? My views on it have slipped so much I'm starting to think "why bother?" nowadays. Surely there has to be some line to be drawn here, some guideline as to the when and the why and the how much. So, ponder that as you will.
And apologies as to the lack of regularity with these journals. I will try and write them as often as I can, but yeah, life gets in the way sometimes. Take care all.

Pride
Posted 14 years agoThere's one thing I can't stand, and that's Pride. Now, I feel pride myself, and in a lot of cases, pride is well deserved! However, there are many cases where I don't agree with the pride people YELL about!
This kind of Pride is those people who post those ridiculous ASCII images of things saying stupid slogans of "FURRY AND PROUD" and all the millions of others I see.
I'm going to steal a quote from a friend of mine's Steam page, as it sums up exactly how I feel:
Pride = Accomplishment. Like that Shelby Cobra you backed into "on accident" or that dude you beat up that was twice your size. Not what you are.
Now, take into account Satanic Statement #8:
8. Satan represents all of the so-called sins, as they all lead to physical, mental, or emotional gratification!
Pride is a sin to Christians, and that is something I certainly don't agree with.
I think to sum it up; be proud when pride is deserved. You don't need to be proud of your sexuality, you don't need to be proud of your hobbies, but be proud of your accomplishment!

Xmas Holidays
Posted 14 years agoFor this week's journal, I figured I go with a topic that is somewhat relevant.
That topic is the Xmas (and other variant) holidays. I'm mainly curious to see what the rest of you during this period, and how you feel about.
As for myself;
I feel that this time, like all times of the year, is pretty much the same as any other. The only difference is the mass shopping hysteria. Honestly, I like the sales (it means gift giving is a loooooot cheaper). And as for how others act... It all seems phony to me. I often hear the phrase "it's a joyous time of year, so everyone should act that way"
I often wear a fake smile myself, but when I see others do it purely for this holiday.. I dunno, it kinda gets annoying at times.
The one thing that I know I appreciate about this holiday season, is that my family and I get along a lot better than usual.
So, what about you guys and gals? Thoughts?

Posted 14 years agoRules of the Earth #3
Posted 14 years ago"When in another's lair, show him respect or else do not go there."
This journal is going to be a little life story that I'm currently living.
So as some of you may know I come from a very Christian family who is overflowing with the holy spirit. Due to recent misfortunate events they believe that the devil is personally attacking our entire family and has come through a gateway in my room because of all my Satanic material. This was cemented in their brains by a pastor who said that in order to get rid of this devil we must rid our home of all things related to Satan. My parents asked me to get rid of everything that I own that is Satanic and in accordance with Rules of the Earth #3 I must comply with their demands. I am following this rule, despite the fact that I live here, because this is still my parents' house. Am I upset that I had to get rid of all my books and even my Baphomet pendant? Only a little bit. But I simply remind myself that they are only material items and that the teachings of Anton Szandor LaVey reside in me and not just in books and jewelry.

Halloween Upcoming + Small Update
Posted 14 years agoSo guys and gals, Halloween is inbound! What will you be doing on this desirably dark holiday? As for myself, I'll be heading to a party tomorrow, and for the day itself I'm not too certain yet. Ideas anyone?
I also wanted to let you all know that, no, I haven't forgotten about here. I'm currently in the process of moving, among other things, which often distract me. Hopefully within a few weeks it should be sorted and I shall be able to start updating here more often with some journals and such~
Until then, enjoy the holiday!

One Year Later
Posted 14 years agoIt's hard to believe it's been a solid year that this group has been around. We've had our ups and our downs, supporters, haters and trolls. I've done my best to keep this group as active as possible but I think things could still be better. So I've decided that I need help to get this group going. If anyone is interested please leave me a note; I'll add you to my Skype so we can talk first before I decide if it'll work out or not.

Feedback please
Posted 14 years agoI'd like to apologize for the 2 months of inactivity here, those of you who've been members for a while know I try to post one at least once a month. So far these past 2 months have been very quiet and uneventful for me. That's both good and bad: good because nothing bad has happened and that's always a big plus, bad because it gives me nothing to talk about. That's one of the down sides to running a group all by yourself I guess.
So now onto the reason for this journal, next month Celebrates LaVeyanFurs' 1 year anniversary and I'm wondering what I can do to make this page better. Please let me know, I'll be most appreciative for the feedback.

Respect
Posted 14 years agoThe other day at work a customer came up to me, this man was about 6' 4" and 250 lbs and in his mid 30's. He didn't have a hostile demeanor but I could tell that he saw my pentagram and wasn't too thrilled about it. So he came up to me and said "So you're a Satanists huh? Mind if I ask you some questions?" I let him know that was fine and with a relaxed stance waited for the interrogation. His first question was what would I do if he were to grab my pendent and rip it off my neck. Honestly I was expecting him to try it or something, so I told him that I would call security and have him banned from the store. He simply nodded and proceeded to asked more questions like: What is the big deal about worshiping Satan, do I have a problem with other people of faith and what my parents thought of it, and why I wear my pendant out in the open. (At that time he also announced that he was a devout Catholic, more reason for me to expect things to get ugly.) So I simply pointed out that we don't worship the devil and that I have no problem with anyone who believes in anything different than me. Finally I did let him know how my parents feel about my choice of faith and that I have just as much right as anyone else to display my belief. By the end of our conversation he simply nodded, shook my hand with a firm grip and said that I had earned his respect.
The point of this story is to show that as a LaVeyan Satanist if you want respect form others you have to give it first no matter what. This man had it set in his head that we were bad people but because I treated him with respect, answered his questions fully and honestly he now thinks a little lighter of us. Now if people come up to you and start asking you questions about Satanism you don't always have to answer them, just let them know that you're not comfortable with it. I choose to take the time to answer people's questions and 90% the person will thank me for it and walk away with a little more understanding about us.

Other Religions
Posted 14 years agoSo recently I've been enquiring about other religions; how they practice, why they do what they do, things like that. Right now I'm currently reading up on Buddhism and have to say it's very interesting. So I'm asking everyone to talk about their religious practices and what they entitle.

Gift from strangers at work
Posted 14 years agoJust wanted to share this with everyone. Today at work I was given a gift form a customer that I had a "discussion" with over a week ago about my pentagram. Well it wasn't really a discussion, like most encounters I have, this was me having to listen to them preach while any attempt I make to talk is ignored or denied. So any ways I was given a Christian comic by The Crusaders publishing group. This comic book is absolute nonsense and filled with completely ridiculous notions of what Satanism is. There's a scene where they "good guys" find a homeless man rambling incoherently on the street eating human fingers and they say "This is Satanism at its worst". Then later on when they come upon a "Satanic" ritual sacrifice they invoke Jesus' name and cause all the "bad guy satanists" to throw up. Yeah utter rubbish if you ask me.
