I don't have one yet, and probably won't be able to afford one for a little while still, but I'd like to start looking around and am not aware of very many makers. I know of Uru and OFA. Beyond them... I'm at a loss of where to even start. I know OFA is way out of my range considering how expensive they get. If you can link me to some suit makers it would be VERY much appreciated. Thanks!!

General | Posted 11 years agoThe main thing to say about it is I've started down a road where I could potentially make some very good friends. I didn't get to know very many people very well, because I spent a lot of time wandering around aimlessly in between sleeping and eating.
There were a few small things that really made it something special though.
Reggie, you're my master and my closest friend. We didn't get to spend a lot of time together during the con, but I cherish the moments we did. :) You've always done your best to put up with me and my crazy brain. Once again you proved to be my rock of solidarity. Without you I would have been a mess.
Xaff, this was the first time we've met in person! I've known you for years through Reggie and have looked forward to meeting you, my masters husband. I'm very thankful for how graciously you allowed me into your and Reggie's life. It means the world to me, and I now consider you one of my closest friends.
Mavi, we have had our differences in the past and it was a concern of mine going into this that they may resurface. I'm very glad and grateful that we were both able to get along so well and hope it means the beginning of a good friendship.
Lakota, we didn't have any real history or knowledge of each other before rooming together. I'm really glad we got the chance to talk and hang out a little! I could tell immediately you are a very sweet, and sincere guy. Those are rare qualities lately so don't let anyone change you for anything.
Blue, your massages are amazing!! I'm really looking forward to seeing you without the crutches next time :) You seemed like an amazing person with a fantastic personality to go with it. I really hope we can become good friends in the future.
Tao, we only had a few interactions personally, but your ability to tell a story and captivate the people around you is commendable. You were a very kind host and it was fun dancing in suit with you for a bit.
Ash, you were the person who held everything steady for me. Whenever I was feeling lonely or lost you were just there to talk. I really appreciate you listening and I had fun roaming the hotel with you Monday morning.
Tig, unfortunately we did not have very many interactions.. Bit as you're a roommate to my master and his husband, I'm sure we will have plenty of time to get to know each other.
All said and done, I was very close to regretting coming to the con. I was having some personal issues dealing with some things going on around me.. But looking back, it was a good experience. I got to start building some relationships that will hopefully continue to grow through the years to come.

General | Posted 12 years agoSo, as of this moment, I am OFFICIALLY going to BLFC this year. Yes, it's less than a month away, and yes, it's last minute... and yes, it took some crazy diplomacy to make happen (mostly on my masters part!!) but it's actually going to happen!
I'll be staying in a room with my master

I'll probably be sleeping on a spare/rollaway bed for most of the con since there was a little bit of a mix-up. But I'm honestly just happy to be going at all! :)

General | Posted 12 years agoI'm SO excited today! I've been in and out of interviews the last three weeks aiming for a promotion and I finally got official news today that I got it!
You're now looking at the soon-to-be Assistant Manager of a local department store that I already work for. It comes with a $2 an hour raise and a guaranteed 48 hours a week, meaning 8 hours every week of overtime! :)
It'll be hard work, learning the new position in a new store, but at least I already know the company and its policies really well. I've been working for this company for 2.5 years. Started out as a cashier and have clawed my way up to this point.
It'll help me get my debts paid off that much quicker and then once that's done, build a small savings and finally move in with my master in Oregon! :3
Just a matter of time now, and I'm counting the days!

After a few days off from work that were very much needed, I came back to a PILE of things that needed done. Oh, and btw, the DM is coming tomorrow so it needs done RIGHT now.... *sighs* I actually managed to get it all done... I think? I hope anyway. I didn't have even 3 minutes to stop and think about what to do next. Between my huge list and customers, I actually got out of work about 20 minutes later than usual. Exhausted...
Now to go into work either 2 or 3 hours early tomorrow all dressed up and smiling ready to take criticism that there's still a whole other list of things that need done better... Soul crushing to put so much energy into something and never get recognition for it.

Random Update: Books, Video games, and moving plans
General | Posted 12 years agoWell, It's been a while since I've said much or done much even on here. I was actually on here all of last night, reading through all the updates of "Camoflauge" by Kyell Gold. If you haven't read his posts of it yet, I REALLY recommend it. He's a fantastic author who really knows how to capture an audience and tell a story. I always find myself so drawn into his settings and captivated by the characters... I get emotionally attached to the events quite easily and find myself bubbling with emotion not long after I start any of his books. I also just finished his second book in the Dev and Lee series. "Isolation Play", again... FANTASTIC! I really took my time with it, and my master actually got a little aggravated with me about how long I was taking >> But totally worth the read.
I'm looking forward to getting started on "Divisions" which is the third book in the series, and the first of which that can't actually stand on it's own. I'll probably have to wait till I get paid in a week before I can buy the book, but I'm still really looking forward to it.
Otherwise... yeah, I've been absent a lot lately because of the release of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. It's a great game... and I have to admit I've become hopelessly addicted. So much so that master has placed restrictions on my gametime... Something that needed done no doubt.
Beyond all of that, I've been working as much as I can. I'm paying off my bills as quickly as I can with any money I get. It's looking like I'm on a 2 year plan till I can finally be living in Oregon with my master, his mate, and their soon-to-be roommates. I can't even START to explain how excited and anxious I am about that. It's been a long time coming and even if I do have to wait a little longer... it'll be very worth it! I love my master very much. :)
Ummm.... I think that's all? I can't think of anything else lol. So... yeah.

Kyell Gold is an incredible author and you should read everything he's published ever.

I'm anxiously counting down to when I can finally live with my master.

CNA Training!
General | Posted 12 years agoSo I've started really looking at becoming a CNA here in my town. There are two main homes here that I can go to. Laurelbrooke Landing and Jefferson Manor. I have friends who work at both, and both sound like great opportunities! I filled out applications today and did some phone calls. I have a REALLY good chance of getting in at Laurelbrooke Landing. Jefferson Manor wont be doing another class for three months... but Laurelbrooke has one in August and another in September. They're being really helpful already and I'm getting pretty excited about it. Wish me luck!

Really upset about this. Going to be shopping around for better income places to work... maybe a lumber yard or something like that. I know it's going to be manual labor, which I usually try to avoid places like that because I won't fit in... but yeah. I'll totally deal with that to make this just be over. Either that or getting a second job again... if I do that, i'll be barely sleeping again... and hating life... but i'll be paying shit off a LOT quicker...

Finally tonight I just kinda let it all out with him and he basically just smiled and told me exactly what I was hoping to hear. He knows exactly how to make me smile, and make everything better..

General | Posted 12 years agoWell... I've finished my very first con. Furry or otherwise. I loved it SO much... the people were amazing, the stories were fantastic, the energy was incredible! *whimpers* I miss it already.
I got to tap into a part of myself that I didn't even know existed before this con! I was so hyper and bouncy and excitable that I could barely keep up with my own brain! I had so much fun I can't even explain. But I'm coming down, feeling the PCD I guess.
Getting upset that I have to put that happy puppy back in a box while I rejoin the real world :(
I'm going to be trying to make an effort to keep part of that husky alive, keep me in a better mood and more energetic. I love that part of me :)

Ummm..... IF I can make it out next year, I'm definitely getting a hotel.... As much as I completely appreciated and loved a friend putting me up for free, I feel like I missed a lot of the experience by not staying AT the con.
I was SUPER excited to run into a few people I actually knew! One of whom was actually in the same fraternity as me in college! He's not actually a furry himself, but he's in a furry band you might have heard of... "Look Left" I actually sponsored him into the fraternity. I also ran into a friend that I've talked to online for a long while now

Veralapsa She's an awesome lady who is SUPER friendly! Thanks for hanging out with me the first night here It was great having some conversation and learning more about the con itself from a veteran! I got a few pictures of stuff and will be downloading those to the computer soon. I'll be posting a lot of them on here and facebook when I've got them all gathered together from the weekend.
This is the first time I've actually felt 100% completely free to just be me... no reservations, no holding back... no boxes that I have to fit in... Just. Me. And I still feel like there's a part missing though. I know once I get a suit, or at least a tail (i really want a partial suit. legs, paws, tail and head) I'll be able to TRULY feel like the me I am.
I'm just.. GAH! Sooooo happy right now to be here and experiencing it all.
