I haven't been following this too closely but I am big on internet and digital archiving in general and this news is... less then fun to hear. I'm really hoping they can stay online in one way or another and keep their archives active but we can't know for sure so I highly recommend any of ya'll who know rare or obscure stuff there (ESPECIALLY abandonware and found media) to start backing it up sooner rather then later. This does include the Wayback Machine which, if lost, could be DEVISTATING for groups like lost media hunters and internet journalists. I'm really hoping they don't shut down but I can't guarantee anything. Just a PSA for those interested in the subject like I am.

Finally got an office chair recently to go with my new desk from a thrift shop and sure enough it has a slight sinking problem that happens over a couple days. I don't want to replace it already and replacing the piston would cost more then I spent on the chair itself so... uh... how do ya'll deal? just keep buying new chairs? this feels like it always happens after a couple years even when buying new...

who would have thought that getting rid of my old desk that I had been using for a whole decade would absolutely fuck my ability to consistently draw anymore but here we are. After almost half a year of trying to get a current setup working involving balancing a floor chair on the side of a mattress and a coffee table and only getting extreme wrist pain some meager commission progress, I think I need to just bite the bullet and actually get a real desk.

it's going to be tricky because I currently live in a studio with one other person and our floor space is incredibly limited here, but I might aswell plan ahead. any of yall got any recommendations? something stable that can handle a keyboard, mouse, and drawing tablet that ain't going to break the bank?

so I've been seeing several "snoot game" related material show up in my inbox here over the past couple of months. I've been keeping my mouth shut considering it's a 4chan game and generally speaking, the sort of people liking that game aren't likely to be the kinds of people I would have a pleasant conversation with it on.

For all of you who don't know, it's a parody game of a graphic novel(?) game that was in development hell recently and a major part of it involves the main character, who is Non-Binary, De-Transitioning and "reforming". I know there's a lot of people who like to argue over how "Anti-Trans" it is but I don't know, after being shown some screenshots from the developer straight up saying that this was meant to be an anti-trans message or however they worded it, I don't know, just seems really fucked up to take someone's trans character and de-transition them for a fucking joke. not really the kind of shit I would like to ever see in my fucking life, not something I ever want to imagine people I support encouraging. let's just say that anyone I've seen draw fan art of this shit, I've already unfollowed at this point. The whole thing is just fucking gross and shitty and not something I want to associate with in the slightest. If you want to spread the word, I wouldn't mind in the slightest. The whole thing is just been making me feel sick to my stomach lately and I have to remind myself that most people aren't this shitty. deep breaths.

fun fact, the same developers went on to make "I want to /hug/ that gater" or whatever. Don't know if there's anything shitty in that game, don't care, not interested in giving these people money.

edit note: No, I haven't played Volcano High yet, I don't know when I will, everyone I know personally who played it liked it, and people I don't know say that it's apparently shit. honestly it doesn't matter because even if you fucking hate that game transphobia is still transphobia.

So I'm searching for a old demo disc iso that I had as a child and still technically have in a storage locker two states away. I can't remember much about the disc but one major thing I remember was a music video of Marilyn Manson's cover of Person Jesus being on it. it was on the main menu, the second option as soon as you booted the disk iirc. I'm downloading what I THINK was the disc atm (04 holiday disc) but it's taking a bit. I wanna say it was around the 2003-2005 era.

One of which having paywalled Tweetdeck which was what I used to post on my desktop so I'm kinda taking it as a sign to start migrating away from there completely. so apparently one of the biggest slave profiteering dick shits acquired one of silicon valley's biggest deadweights and a lot of people are panicking, naturally. Just letting everyone know that I have a discord that I don't use as much as I should that's tied to my Patreon. I might make it public depending on how bad that site gets, but I could definitely use the money since I'm in a new town and can't really do any art until I have my computer up here.

that being said, I'm probably going to do some sketch commissions that I can do via paper just to have some food money in the foreseeable future. keep your eyes peeled for that.

So I mentioned before I was gonna be moving again and said move date has come up. I'm gonna be leaving California for the PNW later today and might be without my desktop for a while. I'm gonna try and have all my commission drafts made and sent out before the flight but it's not a grantee with the crunch. This is gonna be a bit of a hectic process but I'm hoping things ultimately change for the better. It's still really surreal and kinda scary ngl.
