I'm doing the artwork for Garden State Fur the Weekend (GSFTW), a 2024 furry convention in New Jersey! I'm working on a diner-themed poster for the convention which is featuring 10 YCH slots that you can bid on! This is an exciting opportunity for you to be in the convention artwork. It's Raccoony's 20th anniversary!

Many folks loved Raccoony, a formative slice-of-gay-life webcomic I created in 2002. I’ve been thinking about how much it still means to me and I'm happy to announce the story will continue with new strips starting in Fall 2023! 🎉

I am regretful that it's been so long since I've uploaded artwork. I don't want to sound too whiney, so suffice to say that life has been a roller coaster and I had my own set of personal issues that prevented me from being very productive. I really hope to get back into the swing of things. Creating this page was a lot of fun, and that's a good sign for future artwork. :)

I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know about some updates to my social media stuff. I have been using TWITTER to post sketches, works-in-progress, personal tidbits, and other Twitter nonsense. I'm not spammy, so please add me if you are at all interested! I do art because I love it, and because I want to make people happy. I don't expect any money for it. It's been so long that I feel like I forgot how to draw. But a few weeks ago, I started sketching again. So I'm clearing the cobwebs and trying to kick this artist's apathy.

In other news, I've been studying music lately, with as much vigor as I can muster. I'm considering converting my old FA account, "jeffkun", into a music-post-type account, since right now it's doing nothing.

Is there a way to filter out all the YCH auctions on FA? Like an adblock for YCH uploads. There are so many of these friggin things and they are not art, they're usually barely even sketches.

Hmmm, I had the wrong Twitter account up here for probably years now. It pointed to some other leafdog, obviously an imposter. My real Twitter is "leafdubois", can't believe I screwed that up for so long, and I'm a tiny bit surprised that nobody ever mentioned it. :) Ah well, fixed now.

I'm fishing for digital camera recommendations. My trusty six-year-old Fuji FinePix E900's power subsystem seems to be destroyed, it will gobble up a fresh battery within two or three shots. The right camera is different for everybody depending on their skill and preferences. Here's a bit about my situation.

- I don't want an SLR. This is for casual photography, like taking on hiking trips.
- I want point-and-shoot with some manual features.
- I want a decent quality lens and CCD. Doesn't have to be tops, but don't completely skimp.
- Low-light performance should not be horrible.
- I don't give two shits about the megapixel count. Most of the cameras in this range already have too many megapixels relative to the quality of lens/CCD.
- Should not take forever to boot/focus/shoot. At least it better not be slower than my 6yo Fuji.
- 720p video is nice but not necessary

As for price range and feature set, I'm considering Canon Powershot G12, based on one recommendation and the fact that I had the Powershot G2 many years ago and was very happy with it.

I got a PM from someone asking for financial help on behalf of a Georgia fur who needs 16,000 dollars before he can have heart surgery. He's already raised over $8,000, but he has a long way to go. I do not know him at all, but he has a young child to support and I think if we pitch in, we can really make a difference.

It looks like one of my readers decided to sign up for www.thewebcomiclist.com for the sole purpose of leaving me this insightful review for ClosetCoon. This has probably been there for years, but I just happened across it today. This is the only comment that this user has left anywhere on the site:

"nice comic, however sometimes it takes up to 3 months to update a single strip, and the plot is boring."

It's fine if you don't like it. It's fine if you feel so strongly that it's a bad comic that you create an account just so you can tell everybody that it's lame. But what gets me is that if the comic is so shitty that it gets the worst possible rating, why bother to start your review with "nice comic"? If by some freak chance he meant that the comic is "nice" except for points A and B, that is what the continuum of 1 to 5 stars is for. 1 to 5, not 1 or 5.

How about this equally logical review?

"nice restaurant, however sometimes I get food poisoning and everything tastes disgusting."

It's a slice of life story, and life is boring. There are no mecha robot invasions, no lost cities of gold, and no time traveling to kidnap foxes from the past. There probably would be a robot invasion if I could draw robots well.

I don't mind if you criticize my work, but be logical about it! LOGICAL!!!!!!

The best thing is that it's not full of cocks and jizz. There is a time and a place for cocks and jizz, and no, it is not all the time and every place. You can hang this calendar up anywhere, even at the office. The drawings are tasteful and they're all really cute. Plus, I was born in the Year of the Rabbit so I'm partial to rabbit year things. ;)

What kind of furs do you like best? I.e., twinks, athletes, or bufos? By "furs" I mean fantasy furries such as those you may see drawn on FA.

Just curious, do you guys like the sketchy stuff (like my last 2 sketches of Fox McCloud and Komamura Sajin) or would you like colored pics better?

The tradeoff is either fewer colored pieces, or more sketchy pieces.
