Fried the Motherboard... Got it Replaced!
Posted 6 years agoA few days ago, my motherboard decided to give up the ghost and get fried. Thankfully, a friend of mine was able to help me with the situation by guiding me through the process of replacing the motherboard as well as some of the memory cards. The new motherboard is running nicely and I will be sure to keep this bad boy running as best as I can.
Smurfette Pictures on FA?
Posted 7 years agoThis is just something I've been noticing as of late. Apparently, Smurfette from the Smurfs has been recently getting a few more pictures than usual. Is there something happening that I wasn't aware of? Something like a remake of the cartoon or...?
Attention, Cosplayers!
Posted 7 years agoIf you are an individual that partakes in cosplay, you might either make your own costumes or order them from other stores. A user named
o0Reika0o had recently ordered a costume from a website called Cosplay Shopper. However, it appears that the website has burned her bad. She has recently made a post explaining what had happened here:

WTF Moment At Work
Posted 7 years agoYesterday at work was a WTF moment for me. Here's what happened...
It happened around 7:10 PM. I was working the register with the head cashier (we'll call her B) since the other cashier was out to lunch. I had finished a transaction and I was about to head up front when I heard someone at Brenda's register shout something with the word "f'ing". Naturally, I turn to look...
At the register was a bald guy with a baseball cap and jacket on. He had an elderly woman with curly hair, glasses and a burgundy shirt on. They had a cart of wood and stuff next to them including a door. The guy is red in the face and screaming at B. I had only looked for a couple of seconds when he points at me and shouts, "DON'T YOU F'IN' SAY ANYTHING!"
I raise my hands up, shocked that he'd be yelling at me as though I had a hand in the terrible time he was having. However, I had done absolutely NOTHING to antagonize him. He then goes on a ranting tirade saying "I SPEND $11000 IN THIS STORE AND I AM NEVER COMING BACK HERE AGAIN!"
He storms out of the store with the elderly woman and a young guy he had with him. The bald guy goes and flips a couple of shopping carts in our lot over in anger before storming over to his car and slamming his stuff in it, possibly damaging the merchandise. I as well as B and a second head cashier am watching the spectacle in case he tries to damage anything from our store.
And... All of a sudden, he bends over and pulls his pants off, mooning the three of us. And the thing is... He must have either gotten fat around the backside or had really small underwear because it looked like he had a thong on. After that disturbing image, he got into his car and drove backwards to try to avoid getting his license plate on camera. He backed all the way to the lumber department (probably to try to knock more stuff over as well) before driving away from the store in anger.
I took a 15 minute break to process what the ever loving hell had just happened... Later on, I learned why that guy went off like that.(edited)
Apparently, one of the assistant managers had helped him earlier at millwork. The guy was told about our veteran's discount program. Basically, if you register a phone number to us, the discount (10%) can be used by not only the registered guy or gal, but also direct family such as a spouse, kids or parents.
There's a clause, however, where if you use a veteran's discount on your own purchase, you need to use your own cards to pay for it (your own credit card and all that). The guy had tried to use said discount incorrectly (the old lady had given her debit card to the guy trying to use the discount).
Brenda had been trying to explain that to the customer, but he and the old lady would have none of it.
Seriously, the stupidity of people astounds me.

Another Year Come and Gone On This Planet
Posted 8 years agoApproximately 30 years ago today, I had been born on this world. Now, I arrive at a time where my 20's are no more, never to return (unless something really weird happens like time traveling or something). As I approach my 30's, I think back on what had happened over the past decade...
When I turned 20, I felt a sense of pride as thought I had finally achieved adulthood. I was a bit optimistic on what was to come and had an eye on the future. But over the course of that decade, I had been through a few a triumphs and failures at once. Graduating with a biology degree was a triumph, as I had thought I had finally gotten something to help me on my career path. However...
I will say that my failure at Pharmacy School was, to date, one of my top five worst experiences in my life. The fact that I had been proven wrong on the degree of difficulty in going into pharmacy school as well as moving away into a place I had felt both fear and isolation had proven to be a sobering and depressing experience. Being kicked out of the institution due to not meeting their standards was a wake-up call of how not everything can go to how you plan things and how sometimes, there are things you aren't cut out for.
Returning home in a rather depressed mood, I found myself rather stuck, uncertain what to do. I had a job in order to pay off bills, but my second attempt to get a graduate degree with Forensics didn't bear fruit. I felt that familiar feeling of being stuck in a place...
Thankfully, I was able to break from the funk to head back and try again. This time, I've gone into Environmental Chemistry and I am doing OK with it. With luck (and a couple of years), I can get a degree I can use this time.
In terms of romance, I hadn't really tried to go out on the dating scene. The reasons I did this was threefold. First, it was because I didn't feel comfortable flirting or attempting to find someone out of a paranoid feeling that I'd somehow end up in situations where I received physical and psychological harm. In my mind, scenarios were ran where somehow, I ended up being worse off than before either immediately or further down the line. Second, I didn't pursue relationships because I felt I had not enough to offer to a partner that somehow was interested in me. I felt that, given my comparatively abysmal salary as well as my appearance and living situation, I'd be not worth the time of day for someone to have a relationship with.
But the third reason came after observations across the Internet as well as in real life. I had read and heard stories of those who had gotten into relationships, only to suffer in the long run. Whether it was a false accusation of a crime they didn't commit or being cheated on by their partner or even losing everything they had from the fallout of the relationship's end, Not only that, but I had seen those who declared that someone like me (a guy) was akin to less than filth on their shoes and inherently evil. No matter what one did to try to appease these individuals, you'd still be considered a scumbag in their eyes. Combined with the mantras of not needing someone like you in their life and you pretty much see relationships or even pursuing them as a doomed affair.
And so, I eventually decided to forego pursuing relationships, focusing on improving my lot in life. Although I do feel a twinge of melancholy from time to time, overall I feel like this is a good path to follow for now. Once I have put myself in a better situation financially and physically, I might be comfortable enough to try to find someone. However, now that I am at the start of my 30's, I get the feeling that I will start to experience these mantras:
"Are you seeing someone?"
"When will you get married?"
"When will you have children?"
My older sister had already asked me the first question twice this year. Both times I said no and I get the feeling she's worried I might become a hermit or some kind of social pariah compared to others.
If I had to describe lessons to those that approach their twenties or currently living them, I only have a few in mind. First, don't expect everything to go your way the first time around and have a backup plan. Second, save your money as best as you can, for this will help you out in the long run. And finally, don't beat yourself up over your mistakes. The energy and time spent doing that isn't worth it.

Plans for a Let's Play Video
Posted 8 years agoI've been thinking of whether to start up a Let's Play channel or not. I've looked over my games Library on Steam and felt there was a lot of games to pick from. So... I've decided to let you all pick from the list.
I've set up a form to let you pick up to five games from the list. The ones that get the most votes will then be spun at Wheel Decide to see which one will be selected first. The form is found here:

Leaving My Job
Posted 9 years agoAfter two years of work there, I've officially handed in my resignation letter to my work place. Come the 27th, I'm not going back to work there.
Truth be told, I've been thinking about it for the past couple of months. Several factors determined my decision to leave:
1. Work Environment- Where I work, customers need help getting things carried out because what they bought is too cumbersome/heavy for them to carry on their own. However, employees that are responsible for this are not to be found a little too frequently for a business like that. Also, some of my co-workers have a tendency to show up late a lot or call off. As a result, other people have to clean up their mess (including myself). It's happening too frequently for my tastes.
2. College Bound- I'm going back to college to get my degree in environmental chemistry. Based on what I've experienced, it can be troublesome working while at school at the same time. Work too few hours and you may not have enough money for gas, food, or necessities. Work too many hours and you risk losing time to study, thus reducing your grades. My past experiences with this has led me to believe that working at my current place as well as college work will be a detriment to my college work.
3. Morale- Over the past two years, I had been in a funk over what to do with my life. I had attempted twice to get a graduate degree, but to no avail. I spent an entire year working and going home without heading to school. As I learned rather quickly, it was not a way of living. My current job would not be enough to cover any expenses I'd accrue in the future (gas, food, insurance, a future apartment, etc.). Also, I have been unable to improve my situation at work due to unavailable new jobs at my workplace. Overall, I've been pretty much been in a funk. This has inspired me to go back for a new college degree as well as trying to find a new career path.
And that is pretty much what's been happening...
