Anthrocon!
Posted 11 years agoHi All!
I am very much looking forward to being at Anthrocon in less than two weeks! =) I will be staying at the Omni by myself on Friday and Saturday night only due to work obligations. If you are interested in going for these two days and are in the NY area, please feel free to contact me. I will make you a great deal on lodging/transportation. You must be someone that I have met in person before. Just wanted to throw out the opportunity in case anyone was interested!

Midwest FurFest is NOT a go!
Posted 12 years agoHi All!
I decided today that I'm going to go to Midwest FurFest! I was able to get a very reasonable flight so I'm just going for one day. Not having to pay for hotel will help and I have to work on Sunday anyways! I'll be there on Saturday only, arriving at about 11am and staying until the end of the Saturday night dance. If you will be there, please let me know so that I can say hi!! =) Can't wait!!
Edit -- I didn't actually make it, I missed my flight on Saturday and the whole day was pretty much a disaster. I'll be at Further Confusion though, so hope to see you there!! =)

Anthrocon - Now!
Posted 12 years agoLeaving my apartment for the Port Authority Bus Terminal to catch my bus to Pittsburgh now! I'll be there before noon tomorrow! If you want to hang out, send me a shout or note (I'll be checking FA) or text me if you have my number! See you soon!! =)
One Year of Furriness!
Posted 12 years agoWow! It's so hard to believe that I've been a part of the furry community for one year already! I have to say, it's been a profoundly positive experience. It's hard to even start to name all of the wonderful things I experienced - the Lion King Fan Panel, seeing a fursuiter for the first time, doing the Thriller dance, room parties, rocking out at all the con dances, tons of new friends, TWO Lion King parties, late night gaming, not to mention getting to see Pittsburgh, San Jose, and Atlanta for the first time, all three were fantastic!!! =)
A year ago today I was driving back from Anthrocon and on the drive I created my character Ledgewood (Happy birthday Ledgewood!) I can remember how happy I was and remember thinking about all of the awesome people I had met - I wasn't alone, there were thousands of people who shared the same interests as me! The feeling of belonging has been with me ever since.
I cannot believe that I went to eight conventions this year. I think it's safe to say I may have gone a little fur-crazy! I will most likely have to cut back at least a little this year due to financial and vacation time restraints but I'll decide on this later!
Thank you all for welcoming me with open arms! If you are reading this, thank you for being a part of what makes this fandom special for me. Here's to many, many more good times in the future!!!

Anthrocon Hotel - Saturday
Posted 12 years agoHi All!
I will be attending Anthrocon, but will only be staying Saturday night! I wanted to see if anyone had floor space in their hotel room for that night only. I would certainly pay my fair share or even a bit more and the floor is fine. I will only have a backpack so I will take up virtually no room. Let me know if anyone has any space available! =)

Back to New York and What the Fur?
Posted 12 years agoHello all! I'm just heading back to New York after a wonderful long weekend spending time with family and friends in Wisconsin! This coming weekend I'll be attending the What the Fur? convention in Montreal. I love Montreal so I'm really looking forward to spending some time in the city as well as having some delicious poutine! This is my first convention that I'm going to be going to alone, but I'm sure that I will be able to make some new friends when I get there! I've met a few Canadian furs, so if you are reading this and you will be in attendance let me know so I can say hi! =) I hope you all had a great weekend!

FWA and Fur The 'More?
Posted 12 years agoHi All!
I wanted to see if anyone else I know is going to be going to Fur the 'More near Baltimore, it looks promising! If anyone is going, I am looking for a room for Saturday night only. I would be willing to take anything - my own bed or floor space even would not be a problem. I'll be driving down from NYC early Saturday morning and returning Sunday night.
Lindsay and I just got back from Furry Weekend Atlanta, what an excellent con! I got to see friends Levin, Leon, Lep, Vexi, and Inuyoko. I also met a few new friends too. I loved Atlanta, it was my first time there! So sad I have to come back to NY where it's definitely still winter... I did take a few pictures that I'll post up tomorrow or Tuesday!
Hope that you all had a great weekend and let me know about Fur the 'More, even if you don't have room space available! It would be great to see some friends there! =)
*EDIT* I found a roommate to share a room and Fur the 'More is set to go! Looking forward to seeing you there!

TLKoB Tomorrow!!!
Posted 13 years agoI am super excited because tomorrow I get to go see The Lion King on Broadway! My mom, her friend, and three of my friends (including justlindsay) are going tomorrow evening. We got tickets in the upper mezz as it is Broadway week here in the city and the tickets were 2 for 1! This is my favorite show ever and I can't wait to see it again... ahhhhhh! XD I would love to do a furry event to go see it sometime, but the tickets are usually ultra expensive :\
Wooot! And if anyone knows of any young performers/dancers/singers out there - there is a casting call for Young Simba and Young Nala at The Apollo Theater here in New York on Mar, 9. http://www.lionking.com/childrenauditions
TLK!!! Woooooooooo!

Cats v Dogs
Posted 13 years agojustlindsay and I had an epic debate/rap battle about the age old arguement - which is better, cats or dogs? Tune in next time to see monkeys v. lions!! XD (Warning! Some coarse language below.)
--
Ledgewood: that would be monkey business indeed.... Lemme drop a beat for you though right quick *boom bah chick, boom boom bah chick*' - BB ya know I'm fly, amirite? I'll be nippin' any cat with my bite. Folks take one look at this fierce schnauzer and they be saying..."Man - I'd rather duke it out with Bowser!" So before you go preachin' that stray cat supremacy, know that this dog is refined - just check my pedigree.
JustLindsay: imma put a muzzle on you, pup, dont mess with this feline...... listen, imma let u finish, but lemmie say just right quick: felines kno how it do, but canines is just a dick. ma didnt wanna go there, but bitches wanna be trippin, have me all upset and all, got me uptight and flippin.
Ledgewood: Pretty little kitty is looking for a fight? Weak lookin cat thinks she mean - ha, what a sight! Buttttt.... I gotta ask about that last rhyme of yours, my flow is naturally smooth, but yours was quiet a bore. Could it be that rhyming for you is a chore? Leave the rappin' to this homedog - don't want the audience to snore.
Ledgewood: WOOF!
JustLindsay: riddle me this, snoopy: tell me why u so silly, sittin here making me rhyme? is u serious? rilly? have me find out, you think you a homedog, someone let this kid know he more like a Goofy.
JustLindsay: MEOW.
Ledgewood: Awe, you're burned out b? Just take a seat.... I knew that this cool cat just couldn't take the heat. All this hissing you be doin' is gettin' me annoyed, I can see you're frontin' - like makin' raps is something you enjoy - ha! So why don't you go back to your litter box, just be quiet and aloof - before I sit you down on a hot tin roof.
Ledgewood: *drops mike*
JustLindsay: PFFFFTTTTT I CANT
JustLindsay: if i had opposable thumbs i'd shake your paw
JustLindsay: im DYING
Ledgewood: high paw! XD nah, cats is cool too b, that was fun though!!!
JustLindsay: PAUSE. now you say cats are cool
Ledgewood: they cool...just not as cool as da DAWGS!!!

FC 2013 Recap
Posted 13 years agoI've finally returned home back to my apartment a few minutes ago after spending about 48 hours in San Jose, CA enjoying Further Confusion 2013. My legs are sore from dancing, my eyes are heavy from lack of sleep, but WOW! that was a fantastic con! It was a great mix of seeing old friends and meeting new ones. Let's jump in!
Friday
justlindsay and I arrived in San Jose at about 11am. We took the bus and light rail downtown to the convention center. After registering and getting our badges, we explored a little bit in the dealer's room where we saw simbaji! I met Simba at MFF and along with being a super nice and genuine person, Simba is the host of the most slamming Lion King party in existance! We went up to Simba's room at the Marriott and we got to meet sakitastar another very awesome TLK fur that we got to know during our time in San Jose! Lindsay and I went to lunch at a Mexican restaurant that was really excellent and super authentic but I can't remember the name! Anyways, after lunch we went back to the Dealer's Den and Lindsay picked up two star wars CDs (ones that she actually entered for but didn't get in the FurFright auction) and two Doctor Who CDs. We went to part of the 2/Kage comedy performance which was alright. Lindsay and I hung out in San Jose and went to a locar bar. We had our con stuff on and I had a tail and both of our bartenders asked if we were part of the convention. They were both super nice! After that, we went to the dance. Both dances we went to at Further Confusion were incredible, probably the best dances I have been to at any con so far. Lindsay wasn't feeling all that well so I went with her back to the Ramada where we were staying. I saw lyonlover (Kiwa) - another TLK fur that I met at MFF outside the Marriott so I got to say hi to him! After that, I returned to the dance until it was over at 2:30. I went to Simba's room to see if he was still up. He wasn't, but kivulii was there, another awesome TLK fur that I met at Anthrocon, so we went to Pita Pit to have a late night snack before it closed at 3:00. I had Pita PIt when I visited my friend in Eugene, OR last year, and it was just as good as I remembered. We need to get it out on the east coast! =) After that, I went to bed!
Saturday
Lindsay and I woke up at about 9:30am and went over to the convention center to see a panel with live animals! We were late so we only caught the last two animals. I didn't catch what the name of the first animal we saw was, but it looked like an ocelot but with a shorter tail.. I'm going to have to look that up! The second animal we saw was a ring-tailed lemur. It was great to see the actual animals in action and the woman who ran the panel was awesome, she answered questions and shared information about the animals with us. After this, we went to Simba's room for a waffle party! I had southwestern waffles with sour cream and shredded cheese, they were so delicious! After this Lindsay and I took a quick powernap back at the Ramada because we were still tired. Then, we went back to the convention to see the fursuit parade. We got some cool pictures, my favorite suit was probably the wooly mammoth quad suit. The suiter was walking down the street later in the day and I was able to get a photo with him! =) After that, Lindsay got some cool Doctor Who patches from outside of the Dealer's Den. We were pretty hungry by that time so we went to a place that we heard about called Pizza My Heart. It was seriously the best thin/regular style pizza I had ever had. (Giordano's stuffed pizza in Chicago is still my #1!) Check this place out though if you are ever in the area! We had the Big Sur with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, green onions, and whole roasted garlic cloves. It was rediculously good. After that we headed back to the con to go to a panal called "Hey! Come talk to me!" about interpersonal communication. It was really good, each person went around the room and introduced themselves and said something interesting about their fursona (or just something in general if they didn't have one). It was very interesting! At the panal, we met catsby707 and Emmy (no FA). They were both very nice people to hang out with! We went to the art auction room to look at the art and then walked around a bit more before Lindsay and I went to the Matthew Ebel concert. I had heard of him before but I didn't know what to expect. I have to say - he was incredble!! If you haven't heard any of his music you have to check him out. He had songs that were both funny and moving. I'm definitely seeing him again at any convention that he performs at! He is from Boston so I'm not sure if he does shows outside of conventions too, but I would definitely go to another one of his concerts! After that, Lindsay and I went to the highlight of our FC experience - The Lion King room party in Simba's room. People played Simba's Mighty Adventure, we watched funny YouTube videos, watched TLK 1 and had a wild and fun time in general! I met a bunch of new people and got to hang out with my friends that I had made at Anthrocon and MFF. Even if we would have only been able to come out to FC for this, it would have been worth it! =) After we had been at the party for a bit Lindsay, Simba, Sakita, and I went down to the dance for the last hour of it. It was excellent again! Genki was an awesome DJ, I hope I get to go to another con where he DJs again! We all went back up to Simba's room where we hung out for a while and Lindsay and I went to Pita Pit to grab some late night snacks again! We left Simba's room at about 3:30-4:00 and then headed back to the Ramada to sleep!
Sunday
Waking up on Sunday was a little bit of a drag because we knew that the con was over (for us at least!) and we had to get to the airport soon because our flight left at 12:20 so we could get back to New York. After packing up, we headed back over to the con one last time before getting on the light rail. It was pretty quiet, the Dealer's room didn't open until 10:00 so we stopped by the Creator's Lounge. Whenever we were around the lounge during the con I would look for my friend that I only knew online - keirajo that I knew spent time in the lounge. I never found her and I thought that I might miss out on meeting her, but she was there! We got to chat a little bit about the con and her trip to the Kinokuniya Bookstore (I have to go for sure next time!) I was very happy that I was able to meet her - she is just as nice in person as she is online!! =) After that Lindsay and I hopped on the light rail and bus back to the airport. Before getting on the plane, we learned that there was a Pizza My Heart in the airport so we got to enjoy delicious pizza one more time before we headed back home!
Yep! So that's about it! I'm sure there are details I missed but that's the majority of it! Time to get back into the swing of things in the real world, but I'm looking forward to Gallifrey (a Doctor Who convention in LA in February) and Furry Weekend Atlanta in March! =)
I have a few photos I took that I'm planning on posting tomorrow, but until then, good night folks!!! :)

Time for Further Confusion!
Posted 13 years agoTomorrow at this time I will be at Further Confusion in San Jose! justlindsay and I will be leaving New York very late tonight/early tomorrow morning so we will arrive before noon in San Jose. We are staying at the Ramada, just a few blocks away from the convention center. I know a few people who I have met that will be there, but I'm also very excited to meet new friends as well! If you will be there, please feel free to send me a note or a shout if you want to hang out! :) I can't wait for the dances and of course a very awesome TLK room party! :) I'm also looking forward to the predicted 65 degree weather!! :) Talk you you all when I get back, I'll let you know how it was! =D
Bango the Deer
Posted 13 years agoHi All!
(For those of you who don't care about my rambling - just skip to the video below - it is AWESOME!!!)
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and holiday season! Wishing you all the best in 2013 - this year is going to rock - I'm kicking it off with a new project at work and Further Confusion in mid-January, I'm so excited!!! :)
I was home in Wisconsin this past week to visit family over the holidays and my flight back to New York was cancelled. The upside is though that I am getting to spend more time with family and friends! I didn't realize the flight was cancelled until after I got to the airport so I had already driven to Milwaukee. My mom and my friend and I decided to go to a Milwaukee Bucks basketball game while we were there - it was a great time and the Bucks won, but the part I probably enjoyed the most was the Bucks mascot - Bango the Buck!
I really admire this guy because he did absolutely crazy stunts while he was in suit. He made some cool dunks and he also put on a tutu to trampoline onto a balance beam to do a gymnastics-type performance. I kept thinking - wow, this guy seriously has a dream job! Imagine having to put on a fursuit to go to work!! XD I looked him up when I got home and I found this insane video of him - you've gotta see this!
If you can't see the embedded video, here is the link! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3umtw179KA
Whoa! How did he do that? I like watching sports, basketball, football etc. but when you add a fantastically talented fursuiter to the mix, it totally put the experience over the top for me! I'm going back for sure next time I come home again! :)
Enjoy the weekend all and hope to see some of you at FC!!! :)

justlindsayMidwest Furfest!
Posted 13 years agoHey Friends!
My friend Lindsay and I will be attending MFF this weekend and we are super excited to meet up with anyone that we've met at other conventions! It's a little far from the usual eastern conventions, so hoping some other people we know are going! Let me know if you are! We also scored a nice suite so we should have plenty of room to chill before dances, etc. if anyone is available! Can't wait to be back in the Midwest, see some old friends and make some new ones!
Travel safely and hopefully see you there!!! :-D

NY Furs Bronx Zoo Trip
Posted 13 years agoThis past weekend I joined
ironmania2003,
bigztehwuff, and
thedoubtinglion for a fur meet at the Bronx Zoo! I was really happy to have the opportunity to meet three very cool new furs in person! Iron brought his fursuit and entertained many people. (Although people couldn't get his species straight... guesses ranged from lion, cat, duck, and Lady Gaga). He's a ocelot people!!! :) Although... Iron did a nice rendition of "Poker Face!"
To be honest, walking through the gates of the Bronx Zoo is like magic to me. You leave the rush, cars, noise of the city behind and you get to see animals from around the world in a stunning setting. I'm super blessed to have this zoo so near to me! I took a few photos, my favorite is probably the polar bear napping on the rock... so cute!!
I'm glad I got to meet new friends. Big thanks to
nyfurs for mentioning this meet so that I could attend. I'm looking forward to the next one!
Also, looking forward to seeing those of you who are going to FurFright! Less than a week.... come on Friday!!!
Hoping for a smooth week for you guys.. and see some of you all soon!

Visit to the Milwaukee County Zoo
Posted 13 years agoThis past weekend I visited the Milwaukee County Zoo and had a wonderful time, I was so impressed! There were many zoo employees around to answer questions about the animals and everyone was very friendly. I would love to become a sponsor and go on the "backstage" tour... so incredible! Someday when I have the money I will! :D
I was able to take some photos and videos that I will post to YouTube. My favorite part was visiting the Florence Mila Borchert Big Cat Country. I was able to get an up close view of a pride of lions, it was so awesome getting to see them interact with each other, especially the two young male lions! My second favorite were probably the bongos and the greater kudus. I will definitely be going back next time I am in Milwaukee!
Check out my submissions for the photos.

Paradise
Posted 13 years agoI heard this song "Paradise" on Pandora by Coldplay and I liked it immediately! I looked it up on YouTube and discovered that the video features fursuits! It seems like it has been out for about a year so it's very possible that you have seen this already but I decided to post nonetheless in case you hadn't!
The elephant is Chris Martin throughout the whole video. He didn't want to take off the head (ruin the magic X3) at all during the shoot, but the film's director convinced him to do so at one point so that people would know it was him.
An interview with the director of the video detailing how the video came together (in two days!! =-o) is available here: http://coldplay.com/newsdetail.php?id=850
I'm super excited for FurFright! if anyone out there wants to carpool from NYC to cut down on costs, let me know. I've taken off on Friday and will be leaving early Friday morning to catch opening ceremonies!
Happy Columbus Day everyone, and I hope you have an enjoyable week!! :)
