Beware of DesmondDesArt / Valiant_Lamb_95070
General | Posted 10 months agoGood Mornafterning, friends! It's 9 PM and I'm sleepy as heck. But I felt I needed to do a bit of due diligence to forewarn about 
desmonddesart, whos account is only a month old, or "Valiant_Lamb_95070" on Discord, which account is about half a year old.
This person contacted me via notes and we had a conversation on Discord today asking to use one of my pictures as a pose ref for an art project he's working on, which is totally fine. And he wanted to pay me to use my art as a ref, which I humbly declined. But, he insisted I get compensated for the use of my art.
So, apparently Desmond's client was going to pay him $1800 for the project, and he wanted to pay me $350 for referencing my art. And (Now this is where things get scuffy...) his client directly emails me a check for $1800, and they want me to cash the check to my bank, keep my $350, and then send the remaining $1,450 to Despond. And I'm like "Uuuuuuhhh???????????????" The conversation then evolved to me asking a lot of questions, him having a lot of excuses why the client can't just send him the money himself, and an hour of Telegram calls with the client trying to convince me to trust them and cash the check, apparently because the client "Can't use CashApp, Zell, etc." and "Desmond's account is overdrafted", and "it's the only way to get Desmond the money" blah blah... Needless to say, I did not cash that check.
I think it's a money laundering scheme, and I am not going to be a part of it. I've attached screenshots of our entire conversation in a G-Drive, if you want to read (The FA Notes are pretty normal, just general greetings. The Discord Chat Logs have all the suspicious stuff). During our convo, he did show me several screenshots of people who did accept the checks, took their cut, and sent him the remaining amounts. His goal was to have me trust him by showing me these screenshots, but it only serves as evidence that people have fallen for this ploy and are pawns to money laundering. While I can't do much against money laundering or other schemes, scams, ploys, etc., I can atleast spread some awareness so others don't fall for anything that'll put their information in jeopardy.
Tl;Dr - Careful who you talk to, and careful who's offering you big amounts of muns for small amounts of effort. If it doesn't make sense, interrogate and ask questions. If the answers don't make sense, step away from the situation.

But if you fall victim to a scheme, act immediately and you might be able to turn it around just as quickly as the trap was sprung. Yes, I got hacked. What happened is that someone on my friend-list on Discord, whom was also a victim themselves, sent me a link to an "indie game they were developing", I think called Kyrazon, or Kryazon, or something like that. I don't think these were bot responses, either. It wans't just "Here! Play my game, pretty please! <trap-link>", we did have a little conversation that morning. After-which, they sent me a link to the website where they had the download for the game, as well as a trailer on YouTube. Like, the link wasn't just a blank page where it says "DOWNLOAD NOW TO TRY MY NEW GAME", no, it looked like an actual webpage with a well-painted banner and screenshots, and the trailer ACTUALLY looked like a game in development. These fuckers actually made a trailer and graphics for a game as false proof of its existence just to lure their victims in! Though in retrospect, a single trailer doesn't really mean much nowdays anymore (*CoughTheDayBeforeCough*... >w>) Anyways, upon downloading the zip file and unpacking anything - BAM, I done got got. Discord logged out, and upon trying to log back in, the email doesn't exist.
Immediately after the fact - I submitted a trouble ticket to Discord to tell them I was hacked, and I got a trouble ticket number a few hours later. I didn't expect to hear anything else from them for at least a few weeks, but out of my own curiosity, this morning, I tried resetting the password again, and this time I actually received a password reset for the account. Which I quickly changed not only the password, but the email linked to the account as well, just in case. I didn't get an email or response from Discord, but someone did something, and they did it pretty damn fast. Which if funny considering I did read quite a few articles where some people took upwards of two months to get their accounts back.
Doesn't look like TOO much damage was done, but I can already see a few friends and servers are missing from my account, but I can add them back. Most likely the ones that actually combated the hacker and put the word out. Thanks for that, btw, and thanks for realizing it wasn't me at the time - and for all the rude words y'all gave them. To all the friends and contacts I have on Discord (if you're reading this this far into the journal, I'm sorry my carelessness of my actions put the accounts and information of my friends at jeopardy. While I am irritated that I fell into a trap with some clear red flags, I'm 10x pissed that my account was being used to spread and corrupt my friends. But I'm thankful it wasn't worse and that I'm back in control.
For now, though, I'm going into monitoring status and damage control of my Discord account for a few days, just to clean up the dirty milk I spilled. Make sure none of my other accounts got mucked up, too. Be careful out there, friends! Be safe and be smart - atleast safer and smarter than I was, anyways. And if you do find yourself in a similar situation, don't sit and mule over it - report it quickly, and tell everyone to the best of your ability.

Semi-Purge July 20 (A bit of vent)
General | Posted 2 years agoI really should be posting journals more often, but I suppose now is as good a time as ever. I'm also certain that everything in this journal has already been touched on in the last half-day. but screw it, I'm saying it anyways.
I was at work when the news dropped this morning or afternoon depending on where you reside in the world, so I'm sure everyone's heard by now that FurAffinity is cracking down harder on NSFW content involving minors, specifically their policy on small and pre-evolved Pokemon and Digimon. (here's the journal explaining so, if you haven't seen it yet - https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/10552819/ )
I understand, the FA mods have the right to run their website the way they want to run it and it's courteous of them to give artist a decent amount of time to act on the changes. However, I personally feel that there are a number of uncertainties in their journal that I have problems with, specifically the parts "characters only with childlike proportions or are otherwise presented as children in sexual content" and "small or otherwise cute adults, Pokemon/Digimon or not, will not be removed unless they proportionally/anatomically represent a child." (So basically the key points...)
- Quite a number of Pokemon are small and cute, including more than just "Baby Pokemon" who are unable to breed and produce eggs or Pokemon in their pre-evolved forms. Some Pokemon are small and cute even after evolving, and some don't even evolve, like Pachirisu, Spinda, Plusle, Minun, Mawile... Hell, Mew? The Godfather Pokemon with an absolutely child-like nature? A lot of Rookie-tier digimon are, again, small and child-like in nature as well. They can evolve, yes, but do they actually have canonical ages? (Actually, that's irrelevant, since they're still small and cute, ergo NSFW for them is a straight up "no". That's just my venting, let's move on.)
- "Small *OR* otherwise cute adults" is honestly somewhat vague to me. I get it, they don't want small adults dressed in bunny pajamas and banging like them as well. But some people's art styles revolve around cute, small, or both - some curvy short stacks, kemono-style creatures, and maybe even some femboys could very well fit this bill, especially if they're dressed the wrong way. It's way too general of a restriction and demands more specification and clarification, in my opinion.
- Will this new update bleed over to other characters that are small and cute other than Pokemon, Digimon, or centurion loli vampires? What about characters and creatures such as Persona 5's Mona/Morgana; Dust: An Elysian Tail's Fidget; Orii, Klanoa, Animal Crossing characters... Maybe that's just my own uncertainty speaking, but I dunno anymore.
Their fix action for small characters is to "age them up" which, depending on an artist's preferred style, may be indirectly asking them to change their style. I dunno, maybe I'm over projecting now, I'm sure there are a few things I've written that probably don't make sense at this point.
Anyways. That's the end of my rant. Come the middle of July, I'm going to be going through my gallery and take down anything NSFW that cute and small that might raise a flag. Sooo yeah. Been away from DeviantArt and my other accounts for a little bit. Probably missed a bit or a lot, my mailboxes got stuffed with so many notifications, etc. etc. etc... xwx
But things have been less hectic as of late, so I'm going to try to be a little more active again! Including my beloved group for anthro-booty on DeviantArt, which, undoubtedly, my brother (
SexyBigEars69 ) and two of my best buds, ( 
stalkerkittycecy and 
wolfiedesi ) have been carrying along more than they should be responsible for, so sincere thanks and my deepest kudos to them. >w>
I may also do some remodeling of my dA page, just for funsies, and perhaps actually start using social media, like Tumblr, Amino, or Facebook (which I do have one, but I mainly just use the messenger. :P ) I've got my buds to help with that. too. >3>
Lastly, and knowing that doing this for every individual piece of feedback will eventually gnaw away at the threads of my sanity, I just want to say thanks ever-so dearly for all the comments, faves, watches, etc. over the last few months! I know I'm not even close to being one of the biggest or more well-known artists, but I appreciate everything you guys give me and I want to draw more for you guys! I'mma do my best to be a bit more interactive and keep productivity to at least a moderate level!

Overdue Update (Rant, Realization, and Resolution)

First, I want to say thanks to those who've watched me and have faved my
art. I truly do appreciate it and hope you continue to like my work. I do,
also, feel that I have been very inactive and lazy as an artist, hobby or
not (and I feel like part of that laziness is , and I feel like I could be doing better as an artist, in quality AND
quantity. I don't intend for this journal to sound whiney, but there are
some things that I have been thinking about and feel that I need to put out
there, and I apologize in advance if it comes out sounding whiney.
So, I've been drawing for about three years now, and I feel that over those three
years, I've improved considerably from when I first started. And I'm still
improving. But nowadays, I've been looking back at the reason I started
drawing. I saw so much amazing art from so many people, and it inspired me
to compose art of my own. It's been a fun hobby for me, and still is, but
I've been thinking to myself, maybe I want this to be a bigger part of me
than just a hobby. Maybe not necessarily a primary occupation, but
something a bit bigger than a hobby. Maybe do some commissions,
collaborations, etc. I truly feel like I have the potential to do so, given that
a very considerable amount of polish is in order. However. I don't quite know where or
how to start. More accurately I've started by drawing and building up a
small number of watchers, but I don't know how to expand on it.
I've been comparing myself to those of artists that I watch, in terms of our
quality and quantity of art, number of watchers and views, etc. What I've
generally noticed is that they seem to be more well-known. And I ask myself
what is it that I can do to make myself well-known. Is there more to it
than simply posting your work to several websites? Maybe I could try
expanding my horizons with sites like Tumblr or Facebook? Maybe composing
more fanart, holding raffles, engaging in art
trades? buying commissions could possibly help, as well. Hell... Maybe I'm just thinking too hard about it.
One thing is for certain, though, I need to find my niche and work on
improving my artistic ability and repertoire, which is to include capturing
an image from different angles, production speed, working on body structure, lighting,
objects, scenery, so on. I'm sure some tutorials or art guide books will
help. All that being said, I've decided to actually make a New Year's
Resolution for 2016, and work toward bettering myself as an artist, and be
more active and organized as one, as well.
Well, I have quite a bit to think about, and time waits for no potato, and just
felt like I needed to put all those thoughts out there. To be honest, I
feel a bit lighter after doing so. Once again, I want thank those who watch
and faved my art. Even on a tiny stepping stone, it really does mean
something to me. And if you took the time read this entire journal, thanks
for hearing me out, too. ^^
Oh yeah, also, I just recently finished a month of night shift at my job. I lost so much sleep and energy, I felt like I was seriously loosing life force. Like, there were times when I would come home and not even have the will to watch a fluffing YouTube video, it was so bad. I've been thinking to myself, maybe I want this to be a bigger part of me
than just a hobby. Maybe not necessarily a primary occupation, but
something a bit bigger than a hobby. Maybe do some commissions,
collaborations, etc. I truly feel like I have the potential to do so, given that
a very considerable amount of polish is in order. However. I don't quite know where or
how to start. More accurately I've started by drawing and building up a
small number of watchers, but I don't know how to expand on it.
I've been comparing myself to those of artists that I watch, in terms of our
quality and quantity of art, number of watchers and views, etc. What I've
generally noticed is that they seem to be more well-known. And I ask myself
what is it that I can do to make myself well-known. Is there more to it
than simply posting your work to several websites? Maybe I could try
expanding my horizons with sites like Tumblr or Facebook? Maybe composing
more fanart, holding raffles, engaging in art
trades? buying commissions could possibly help, as well. Hell... Maybe I'm just thinking too hard about it.
One thing is for certain, though, I need to find my niche and work on
improving my artistic ability and repertoire, which is to include capturing
an image from different angles, production speed, working on body structure, lighting,
objects, scenery, so on. I'm sure some tutorials or art guide books will
help. All that being said, I've decided to actually make a New Year's
Resolution for 2016, and work toward bettering myself as an artist, and be
more active and organized as one, as well.
Well, I have quite a bit to think about, and time waits for no potato, and just
felt like I needed to put all those thoughts out there. To be honest, I
feel a bit lighter after doing so. Once again, I want thank those who watch
and faved my art. Even on a tiny stepping stone, it really does mean
something to me. And if you took the time read this entire journal, thanks
for hearing me out, too. ^^
Oh yeah, also, I just recently finished a month of night shift at my job. I lost so much sleep and energy, I felt like I was seriously loosing life force. Like, there were times when I would come home and not even have the will to watch a fluffing YouTube video, it was so bad. XD But I'm back working during the day now, so I should be more able to do stuff. I'm way more energized and peppy, and all the mental clutter's been cleared up. To think it took three weeks for me to actually finish this journal. I hate night shift. ^^;

General | Posted 11 years agoOkay, so I've had this account for about two years, and I haven't done much with it at all, so I'm fucking late with pretty much everything with this thing, sooooo... Now I'm gonna. owo I've been practicing art a lot on sketch pads and using my tablet with SAI, and I think I've improved quite considerably ever since I started with GIMP, in both speed, technique, and finess.
