Metroid Prime 4 review. Spoilers included.
General | Posted 4 months agoDespite the whirlwind of hell around me, I did get Metroid Prime 4 and have completed 3 playthroughs, 100% items and scans, and that includes hard mode.
For note, I got this on Switch 1 and this review will be of said Switch 1 version.
Graphics: There is no complaints here. Everything is detailed and gritty when it needs to be or otherworldly sterile when it needs to make a point. The character models look very detailed and Samus' armor looks excellent. The game also runs at a solid 60 fps and I never saw any frame drops.
Music: As with many metroid games, a fair few tracks are little more than ambiance, but the areas with music are very strong and match the area you're in. Boss battles notably have suitably intense themes. That said, a couple areas lack music and it's to make a point, which I'll get into later.
Controls: I play with two Joycons in a controller grip and the game is different from other Prime entries, namely in that it's a twin stick shooter instead of a one stick movement with a focus on lock-on. The first boss is actually a lesson for the later bosses in the game, namely that the Lock On will work akin to Prime 3, locking onto the center of the target, but the vulnerable parts will be off to the side in some way, requiring you to hold onto the lock while also using motion controls to aim at the actual target. Anyone fresh off of Prime Remastered will make multiple mistakes with the controls for a while before getting into the proper rhythm.
Gameplay: A metroid game by any other name would work this way. Unlike the 2d entries, however, there is virtually no sequence breaking, as is the style of the Prime games due to them frequently having a specific set of events and a more complex world to work with. One of the things advertised early on is the Viola suit and Viola motorcycle. This is the primary mode of transport across the Hub area as there no true fast travel functions. This actually plays into the central narrative as the main hub area is a massive sandy desert and it's... virtually empty. You race and breakneck speeds and... sometimes see birds. See some sand whale things in one specific area... and that's about it. Later on some killer robots show up once in a while, but it punctuates how dead this world is becoming. The 5 other areas you go to have themes akin to previous metroid games, such as starting in a forest/temple, going into a mechanized facility, going into a frozen mountain, traversing a volcano, and going deep underground in the mines. Every area has things to look for, upgrades abound, and like Prime 3, there are things you can activate to show you the locations of items you didn't collect yet. Samus gains numerous familiar powers from previous games, but they are all now Psychic tinged. This gives all of them additional properties. For example, bombs are dropped in morph ball form, however you can now float a morph ball bomb with psychic powers and throw it to a distant bomb slot or foe. Samus also gains elemental weapons though these run off of an Ammo system akin to the light and dark beams of Prime 2. There is the fire and ice, but another is Electricity which can be used to reactivate certain machines. The most notable thing are Green Crystals. These are a power source the local aliens used and you are tasked to gather them through the expanse of the desert. More and more appear through the course of the game's progression and by returning them to the temple, you can enhance powers of Samus. This includes making her basic beam drastically more powerful to the point missiles virtually have no use in combat as rapid firing her normal beam will obliterate most foes and even bosses. In each of the 5 areas, you will encounter Galactic Federation soldiers. Well, most are soldiers, one isn't and the one who isn't is the first you encounter, the Engineer. He's a nerdy guy who talks a lot, but he talks a lot because he's scared out of his mind and when he's scared, he talks to calm himself down. He and Samus end up finding a safe area in the temple and he sets it up as a home base that the other GF soldiers will also stay at when Samus rescues them. He also has to modify the Alien's technology to work with Samus' suit in some cases, mainly because he's forcibly modifying tools into weapons. There was a massive smear campaign due to this first fellow due to him having slightly stupid dialogue and that he was part of an escort mission. This is in contrast to the reality where the "escort" mission is through all of about 4 fairly brief rooms and then he is safe at the base. This isn't remotely a challenge even on hard mode. Another complaint is that he takes over the role of the "Suddenly Samus realized she knows where to go and knows where the next goal is.", which was always irritating when you were doing something else, it just now has a voice line with it, and again, it's really not a big deal. You'll still be spending plenty of time in silence.
Story: Okay I'm spoiling everything and laying it out. Samus gets called to help with a full scale assault on a GF compound. She tears a swath through the pirate ranks until she encounters Sylux and his modified Metroids, which perform a full scale fusion with a creature, rob it of it's sanity, enhance it's power, and make it 100% loyal to Sylux, which basically means it'll kill anything on sight. During the scuffle, Sylux shoots an unknown alien artifact, which turns out to be a dimensional teleporter, and it activates. Samus is whisked to a new world where she has a psychic crystal embedded in the forehead of her suit and learns of the Lamorn, an alien species on the cusp of extinction on a dying planet. The Lamorn's story is spread out through the game, but essentially, the Lamorn achieved species peace due to certain ones being born with a biological crystal in their forehead allowing them to communicate with virtually anything as well as manipulate aspects such as teleportation. They eventually mined out crystals of a near exact match and had crystals embedded in every member of their race. They then began advancing technology at a rapid rate, but the rate was so rapid it depleted most of their environment and they decided the back off and work on more esoteric abilities and help restore the damage they did to the world. Using the Green Crystals, they formed it into a liquid that could spur on rapid life growth and fashioned a rain machine to pour it over the land to restore everything. It worked in a couple small areas... and then the side effects kicked in, which was that EVERY Lamorn who had an artificial crystal embedded in their head turned into a blind, savage creature known as a Griever. Not only was the world dying but now their race nearly went completely extinct in the blink of an eye and only 13 were left. They fell upon a prophecy that "one" would come and save them, but the prophecy never said when, only that the One would come from "outside". They had no way of knowing if the One would arrive on their own or if they had to find them, so 12 of the 13 Lamorn left across space and dimensions to try and find the One and none returned. By the time Samus reaches the inner sanctum, the 13th and final lamorn has long since dies and only a recording is left. All that is left is a unique tree that has all the memories and legacy of the Lamorn deep in it and when Samus collects enough green energy, she is given a single Fruit from the tree that she is to plant on a new world. This effectively gives her a new suit which is very powerful. After this, Samus is to gather 5 keys to activate the master teleporter to return her to her point of origin, and the 5 keys were entrusted to 5 guardian creatures who befriended the Lamorn... Surprise, Sylux rendered them into mindless freaks by bonding them with his metroids in a bid to kill samus and any GF trooper. Oh and Robots keep being activated that target and try to kill samus and the troopers. And a shield goes around the complex that the teleporter is in... Oh, turns out Sylux ended up in the same building as samus, but he was in the control room while Samus was in the chamber of greeting "The One" and Sylux has been mentally controlling the remainder of the planet the entire game. Samus encounters the Engineer, but after that she finds Tokabi, a sniper who used to be a Hunter but joined the GF to pay the bills. he has a deep religion that he stands by and if you find him in his camping areas, he'll share more of his backstory with Samus. Next Samus encounters Duke, a commander, and a soldier from his squad, Armstrong. Duke is a hardass and when he sees Samus, he instantly realizes that something is wrong as he is not a high priority safety concern, meaning they aren't in familiar space anymore. Armstrong is a loyal soldier who heavily admires samus to the point she can't help but make Giddy comments towards her and after Samus saves all the soldiers from one of Sylux' attacks, she even outright hugs the antisocial Samus. Duke politely asks for Samus' assistance, even if he is embarrassed to admit he needs it. The final ally you pick up is actually a robot. He is a large humanoid designed specifically to pilot the new class of Golem mecha that are about three times larger than the ones soldiers are permitted to pilot. He develops a personality and actually is afraid of the normal memory wipe after this mission because of how unique everything is, and Duke agrees that he wants to argue that he should be allowed to keep his memories of this mission. Samus eventually saves all of them, rebuilds a mecha golem to break the forcefield on the tower, gets all 5 keys for the master teleporter, and brings everyone to the tower while carrying the Legacy Fruit. Except when starting the teleporter, Sylux wakes out of a rehab pod, now having his body and suit infused with Lamorn nanomachine technology. The first part of the fight has all five of the GF soldiers assisting you in attacking Sylux and they are quite good at it. When you weaken him, he tackles Samus and reveals he has dimensional slip powers and pulls them into an arena in the middle of some space area. Samus and Sylux fight like mad with Samus finally overloading Slyx's suit and seemingly sending him plummeting to his death. Samus manages to go back through the gateway and go back to the teleporter with the 5 GF troopers, but as the teleporter is warming up, Sylus isn't so dead and pops back in, clearly beyond insane. He shoots the controls to the teleporter, which causes the entire system to start overloading. The troopers rush Sylux but he starts manhandling them, all of them screaming at Samus to get the teleporter working because if anyone should go back, it should be Samus since she's the only one who can keep up with the nightmares attacking the galaxy. The mech has Sylux in a full nelson, Tokabi has ahold of Sylux's gun arm, Armstrong has ahold of his left arm, Duke punched Sylux in the face and is trying to push him back, but it's not enough. Sylux fires a shot while the teleporter is warming up and our Engineer jumps in the way and takes a fatal shot. All of them tell Samus to go, and Samus reluctantly activates the teleporter just before it explodes as Tokabi throws her his religion symbol he kept with him. Samu is forced to leave all 5 behind with an utterly insane and currently unkillable Sylux. When she comes out the other end of the portal, she plants the legacy fruit, which instantly sprouts, and hangs Tokabi's symbol upon it, carrying on the legacy of the Lamorn and the last wishes of the GF troopers she was forced to leave behind.
Summary: All of the Prime games have a theme. Prime 1 is Solitude. Prime 2 is Twisted darkness. Prime 3 is corruption. What is prime 4? Desolation. Aside from the ONE green area you are in early on, everywhere you go is dead. Dead and sandy, dead and frozen, dead and in a volcano, dead under ground, or completely dead and just full of machinery. The only constant are the Grievers, all that is left of the Lamorn. There are sequences that are loading screens of Samus running down obscenely long halls, of Samus riding at high speed on her bike, or traversing in a rocket powered cannon shell, and the long long stretches of silence... take their toll in telling you just how empty this world is. As you go around, you start to appreciate hearing your Engineer buddy talking to you. you look forward to hearing what Tokabi has to say about his life. You look forward to hearing Duke's advice to Armstrong. You can't help but smile when the mech friend helps Duke remember a song or play a little joke on the Engineer. You have a shred of hope you'll get to see the last Lamorn.
Then you realize the last Lamorn died so long ago he doesn't even have a body to bury. Then you see that you have to say goodbye forever to this little family you've spent the game with and know you'll never see them again.
You couldn't save them. You couldn't save any of them. All there is, is the hope and seed of the future.
The game is solid and enjoyable, but it's emotionally brutal.

Shifting to Digimon
General | Posted 5 months agoTo be specific, I'm changing all my Pokemon OC's into Digimon.
I always loved Digimon long before Pokemon was much of a thing and as time has gone on, Pokemon has just grown to be a bigger and bigger cesspool.
Thus, I'll be shifting all my pokemon OCs into Digimon ones. A lot of the backstories will remain fairly similar and there will still be easily recognized aspects.
I just can't tolerate advertising for a franchise that actively dumps on it's own fanbase, nor a fanbase who is so frothingly loyal that they gobble up slop willingly and knowingly.

Love those who deserve your love
General | Posted 5 months agoShare your love only with those who return it.
if you are sharing your love with someone who isn't returning it, stop.
Turn your attention to those who DO return it, because when the day comes that they no longer can, nothing can ever replace it.

Silksong and Sonic Crossworlds reviews (Spoilers)
General | Posted 7 months agoSilksong:
I want to preface this by noting that I never played the first Hollow Knight. The characters and world didn't interest me. I did, however, watch a playthrough of it by
Tsuki-Akurei so I know all the story in it and did like the character of Hornet, who interested me enough that when Silksong was announced, I wanted to get it to play as her.
Graphics:
The art style is the same as the OG Hollow Knight, however there are more details on things and better shading. That said, characters can vary on how much detail they have. Hornet for example is a literal stick figure despite allegedly having an exoskeleton like the rest of the bugs. This sadly continues into the pre rendered animations and not just gameplay. The game also is generally pretty poor about indications of secret placements as cracked walls you can damage are often nearly impossible to tell apart from other walls.
Music:
Most of the music in the game is very dour and depressing to match the setting and as a result nearly nothing stands out. In fact the only theme I can even somewhat remember is the battle against the boss Skarrsinger. It's fitting for where you go during the game but it makes for a rather unremarkable OST as a whole.
Controls:
While I was playing this on the Switch, I chose to use only the 4 Directional buttons, not the analogue stick since it has no actual function. Items and skills are mapped to simple to remember buttons, however it is very notable during certain fights or platforming segments that the game will randomly mess up your inputs. For instance, you could jump, then press down and attack and Hornet does a standard attack, leading to you dying in the boss fight or failing your platforming. I can confirm that is not controller related as i continually swapped between several controls during my gameplay and this happened repeatedly.
Gameplay:
Hornet is very fun to move around and attack foes and do platforming with and grows more fun the more techniques you learn. HOWEVER... the problem is that the developers don't know how to balance a boss fight. In most cases, a boss is a very powerful foe who doesn't react to your attacks and only leaves specific openings for you to hit that while you carefully dodge their attack in a very elegant type of dance. The issue is that the developers wanted to make the battles "harder", but instead of making the bosses faster with limited tells, they instead often chose to implement multiple mooks in a gang fight. Said mooks will not be synchronized with the boss in any manner. This become so much worse later on in the game as you will have multi stage boss fights that start throwing random attacks from random directions while random mooks spawn in throwing random attack patterns, all while the boss is doing their scripted movements. This often is made worse by making you walk three miles from a bench to even reach the boss again. For the last leg of the game, all the bosses have pre-fight arena fights, often consisting of ten (10) powerful mooks that you must kill before you have a chance to fight the boss and with no breaks inbetween. This often gets squished all together so you will have a mook arena fight, a boss that summons mooks, and when you die you have a 3 mile hike back to the room where you home the RNG gods work on your side. Want to make a Silksong player feel rage? Ask them "So how was Bilewater?"
Story
Taking place about 200+ years after Hollow Knight, the story opens with Hornet being captured and hauled across the lands before she finally builds enough strength to slaughter her captors and destroy her imprisonment, but she's drained of all her energy and needs to slowly regroup. You soon find the area she's in is one of the origin points of the Weavers and everyone is trying to go to the castle-like area at the peak of the lands here for some sort of holy journey. naturally this is a farce as the people here have Thread weaved deep inside of their bodies and the one at the citadel is pulling on said strings. The game initially follows Hornet cutting her way through the processed people to the one who captured her and then killing her. The only issue with that is the being who is doing all this is "The Primordial Silk" and she allegedly made the weavers intelligent in the first place but they abandoned her when they learned she was a corrupt controlling monster. Said monster sent out soldiers to try and capture weavers and bring them back, willing or unwilling, to make them slaves so she could have them around her. In the normal ending, Hornet kills her and absorbs her, something Weavers can do to gain the power of foes. This causes hornet to fully grow into her true six eyed, six armed weaver Goddess form, but the game ends before it gives any clarification on if she would be a positive or negative influence on the world. By doing all the side quests and talking to a specific NPC, you can kill the queen a different way, but this instead causes the Void to come back and use her silk threads. The game proceeds to become about 4x HARDER than it already was. By doing increasingly more bullshit bossfights, you eventually fight again in the void in a supremely bullshit three stage fight. Your reward is an ending that leaves no explanation on where things go or what becomes of the entire place you spent hours trying to liberate. It honestly left me feeling infuriated that i went through that much bullshit gameplay to get such a shitty reward.
Summary:
While i applaud Team Cherry for only charging $20 in a day where $70 is the fucking norm for games, don't get this game unless you're a masochist. You put in a ton of effort and a ton of pain for extremely little reward.

Sonic Racing Crossworlds:
I've played Mario kart since 64 days all the way up to Mario Kart 8, and the best one was Double Dash as driving was more important than spamming items. The best mario kart game after double dash was actually Sonic Racing Transformed. After seeing the stupid "Open World" aspect of Mario Kart World that is filled with nothing and no reliable tracks with laps, I had no interest in it, but Crossworlds did interest me. So... how is it?
Graphics:
This game is freaking gorgeous. While retaining the typical sonic style, lots of color is in every track and every racer. Every car and board is wonderfully detailed and even has custom decals you can apply as well as mix and match parts. it's honestly lovely to look at. I never had any issue of not seeing where I was going.
Music:
Me oh my the music in this game is just excellent. Remixes of well known tracks as well as all new tunes are a treat to listen to. They also have sped up lap 3 remixes and have really well done transition points for when you slip into a crossover world.
Controls:
Oh so simple yet slick, anyone who ever played a kart racer will pick this up with no issue. Accelerate, break, drifting, item usage, all super simple to use. This goes for aquatic and air portions of maps as well.
Gameplay:
So as soon as you boot up the game, you can choose a racer and their vehicle and right away you see the freedom given to you. NO racer is locked to any "type" of vehicle. Want to play as Eggman, a power character, but use a Speed vehicle? You can. Characters and vehicles are split into 5 different types: Power, Speed, Acceleration, Handling, and Boost. The boost types are the Extreme Gear air boards and get the most from drifting, speed pad, and other boosting methods. next, you likely will go to a grand prix, which will have 8 cups you can go to. Each cup has 3 tracks on them and when you pick your character, you'll be given a rival. Said rival will have much higher abilities than the other racers and will share a banter with your character before the beginning of the whole race. A race on a track consists of three laps, however after the first lap, you will be sent to a crossworld. The person in first place will get to choose. While there are many places that only exist in this one lap crossworld, there is the ability to go to a Random selection, which will pull from ANY course for the second lap. After you complete the one lap in the crossworld, you'll come back to the original track which in some later cases can have some modifications, mostly rings being worth more or some elaborate jump. The fourth and final race of a grand prix is a crossworld event where you start in the first course of the cup, do lap two in the second course, then do lap three on the third course, so I hope you know the best places to do tricks. Speaking of, while drifting can build a boost, you also can do tricks off of jumps, all of which give boosts upon landing, and no you can't flub a trick. The items are very wild but easy to understand. There are in fact 2 "blue shell" items, but they are vastly more destructive. The first are the Gold and Silver weights, which crush first AND second place. No more sandbagging to steal an easy win. The most powerful is King Boom Boo. "But doesn't he shrink into a shadow during the daylight?" He has a fancy set of shades and proceeds to smash first place with five pillars of fire, which will destroy anyone and everyone around first place and down the track. There ARE ways to counter this with a couple defensive items, but you gotta drive well in first place in order to keep it as being hit by an item causes you to DROP your items to disable mario kart's style of constant backlash item fests. This is also only one mode as there is an entire area dedicated to gimmick type races, even team based races. All events will net you tickets, which are used to buy new car parts, decals, horns, and the ability to RETRY A RACE MID GRAND PRIX THAT YOU GOT ROBBED IN. The only penalty is that it will say you won with a little ticket item by the cup showing you needed to retry, which goes away if you win it with no retries. You also can spent tickets on a "friendship" function. This is where you donate tickets to a character and they complement you and give you things such as their name tag, decals, and other amusing things. There is also going to be free updates adding more sega characters over time. You also upgrade a "plaque" that allows you to bring specific abilities with you for different races. Things such as boosting when you touch another car, get a boost when you respawn after falling off the track, don't lose your items when hit, but also goes more in depth with more powerful abilities. Sadly online is the worst place to be as you often end up in lobbies with 2 players who have already blown the game open and 9 other racers who are just trolls and will somehow target YOU, despite you never getting above 5th place. if you get into first somehow, expect all hell to rain down on you. Stick with friends.
Story:
Dodonpa invited everyone here for a virtual reality race. The only deeper story is the personal interactions in the Rival mechanic or a quip certain characters will say when you use them on specific courses.
Summary:
https://youtu.be/CYOfP1a7xjc
I want to preface this by noting that I never played the first Hollow Knight. The characters and world didn't interest me. I did, however, watch a playthrough of it by
Tsuki-Akurei so I know all the story in it and did like the character of Hornet, who interested me enough that when Silksong was announced, I wanted to get it to play as her.Graphics:

Gameplay:

Can we just stop being awful to other people?
General | Posted 7 months agoI don't know where to begin with this...
I do my best to keep away from harshness as I have an extremely difficult life. When I go online, I seek relaxation and sanctuary. However I'm seeing a gross uptick in people who cheer when something bad happens to a person that they "just don't like".
They can NEVER know who this person was and then hear something bad happened to them and be told "Oh they did [moderately bad thing that's been blown out of proportion], so they deserved it." and they will accept it at face value.
One of my very closest friends got disturbed by this trend and asked why "it's okay" to hurt or even KILL someone you "just don't like." Maybe this person would talk and say stupid things. maybe they would do stupid things, but they didn't physically hurt anyone else.
Instead of any logic, he was dogpiled. He was told how it was a "good thing" that someone who never physically hurt anyone was hurt/murdered. He was told that the person who performed the assault was " a hero" instead of a murderer. They ignored how the assault of this person shines a spotlight on THEIR community as to where such a cold blooded killer could come from.
No logic was found anywhere, just pure hatred was spewed forth from the "supposedly peaceful" community towards him.
My close friend NUKED his gallery and profile as a result.
I came online to find a few shreds of messages and my friend GONE.
I don't know how to handle this other than as another loss in my life.

Gallery Restored and new posts uploaded
General | Posted 11 months agoYup, everything viable is back and I have uploaded my current backlog.
Gallery restoration and new posts.
General | Posted 11 months agoWith the current administration of FA willing to talk 1 on 1 on specific posts, I no longer have fear of something violating the terms in my gallery.
I will be reposting most of my removed images, but not my scraps.
I will also be uploading new posts, though a little slowly since I am still rebuilding my gallery from when I purged it.

Posting again? I think so.
General | Posted 11 months agoI decided to talk to the administration and verify every image I wished to upload.
This appears to be no issue along with most of the images I removed from the gallery barring, like, 3.
So expect some uploads.

General | Posted a year agoOr is that still just an automatic "everything is cub and you're banned" mindset for this place?
I love small MATURE males with LARGE ladies, but how soon would I post one before some one on the mod crew decides that THEY don't like it and nuke my gallery with the excuse it's Cub?
Or how about the reverse? A small MATURE female who has a larger boyfriend/husband?
October of 2024 showed that the entire mod crew was guilty of AND flooded with the deletion and requests of deletion of "small characters" for some unknown metric they couldn't quantify what passed and what didn't.
This was so bad, I went into my gallery and removed ALL images that could even be misconstrued as remotely unacceptable, replacing the image with a rather obviously repeating meme image.
Even if the rules are firmly repealed, they will NOT be re-uploaded here.
So, CAN short MATURE character be posted?
Feral ones?
Small Digimon?
Single form Pokemon?
Or is this place still locked down and I shouldn't risk anything here?

October 30th 2.7

lmao even.
I could have told everyone here that such mass reports would happen.
That is why I stopped uploading anything here since it would be so easy for some punk with a chip on their shoulder to just report me for having a male character smaller than a female. You know, ignoring the male character is close to6 feet tall and holds a job and that the female is nearly 12 feet tall.

Always a "new policy"
General | Posted a year agoBack in May of 2023 came the announcement of a stipulation of 2.7's crackdown on small statured characters.
The writing was on the wall and I knew this would go south very quickly and I promptly removed all the images in my gallery featuring any such characters.
Now, Dragoneer is gone and the rule of 2.7 was so vague that now pregnancy images and egg laying images are at risk of being offenses to the site.
Next will come the depiction of fertilization being classified as "a minor in an explicit image".
But this all is the astroturf because the inevitable tumblrification of this place.
Don't trust the mods and administrative crew. They could have implemented firm age verification and site secure functions that would mean any minor who DID come in here was at fault, NOT the artists who just want a gallery to showcase art. They could have implemented a blacklist function.
They COULD have. That COULD have spans around 20 years, and they never DID.
Keep that in mind and remember why I stopped uploading here.

Dragoneer
General | Posted a year agoI never knew him personally. I did not agree with how the site was run and I still have many gripes in regards to the infrastructure and rules in place, however I can't say I ever hated him.
I was overjoyed that he favorited one of my submissions, of which I had to edit out the image from as the small stature of some pokemon now violates the rules, but I archived the image of him favoriting it mainly because I wanted to be able to show folks it happened and because I was archiving one of Athus' last conversations.
Little did I know I would archive a favorite of Dragoneer.
It's horrible how he died and how the health care system held his life for ransom.
Hopefully in the hereafter, he will be able to rest.

Today is 2.7 day
General | Posted 2 years agoHere it is, the big day where the mods and admins of FA get to destroy your gallery because you had a shortstack in it or a first form pokemon.
All content of that nature has been removed from my gallery here, replaced with wholesome images of my OC Dinosaur cop telling you he has some donuts. I won't be uploading anything here for fear it may set off a mod/admin as i do like size difference between two adults.
Inkbunny is still full on stupid with Ai so I've not been uploading anything there either.

No April Fools

Does torture stop?
General | Posted 2 years agoI haven't said much and I haven't done much as of late. There are reasons for that.
Internet related:
-FA: With the new policies in place, I can't risk anything I post being deemed "under aged" just because it doesn't happen to be tall enough. This is horribly irritating for someone who loves smaller males on larger females and thus, I won't be uploading to FA anymore because of it, though I'll still use it.
-IB: I've made a firm point that I will not upload so much as a single image to IB until they ban and remove all "AI" images. As it stands, IB is being flooded with metric truckloads of it and it's drowning out actual content made by hard working artists. There also is no guarantee that anything I upload WON'T be scraped for their machines, which is a theft I will not accept.
As it stands, Itaku, e621, and rule34xxx are the only places I upload content.
IRL related:
So I've been quiet on this but now I must speak it in full.
I am the oldest of 3 siblings, all brothers. Middle brother got married in 2018 and things began to go bad ever since. Said wife lives with her grandfather. She does not have a place of her own. My brother never officially moved in, he just "stopped coming home" one day. What was hidden from us is that his wife has very bad Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. She is missing about 25% of her brain, her body is riddled with health issues, and she will have manic screaming events where she lashes out at anyone and everyone, but usually targets someone. People with FAS ALWAYS project their issues onto someone they don't like.
My family has the misfortune of having my mother's sister with full blown FAS, and she gave that to her son, along with having a full outbreak of genital herpes, meaning he was born not just with 25% of his brain missing ,but he's insane on top of it. The problem in all this is my brother is autistic and can "act" like a functioning adult, but he isn't one. He only sees things on a surface level and is the poster child for the phrase "if it was a snake ,it would have bit you".
After many hellish years dealing with insane aunt and cousin, we warned Brother and his wife to NOT interact with cousin and aunt because the yare violent, abusive manipulators.
Brother did exactly the opposite and socialized with his cousin. Said cousin wanted my brother for himself to be his personal "husband" who would pay for him to sit around, eat, and play video games and him getting a wife angered him greatly, so he devised to torture brother's wife. He did this by making fake facebook profiles of my mother's profile and harassing said wife relentlessly.
See, my mother knows all my aunt and cousin's tricks, so it was important to twist things so my brother would NEVER see her face to face. This has worked because 2020 happened and said cousin and aunt got to "face time" over facebook without any interruptions. My cousin soaked my brother's brain for a solid year. This was perfectly in their plan because brother and wife had a daughter and my aunt is a violent child abuser who is obsessed with children under 5 and she will do anything she can to be interacting with them as she hallucinates that they are her own, so further demonizing my mother on baseless claims is her go-to. As a result, we never saw my brother or his daughter for all of 2021, 2022, and 2023. But the insane aunt has had free access to her all this time.
The following three years have been nothing but me supporting my mother emotionally. Every morning she wakes in tears because said brother is such an idiot he believes hearsay from his cousin instead of actual facts. I know this as I saw him as of April 2023 and he is making up excuses on the spot as to why he shouldn't see his mother and see the truth.
Said cousin has blown out his kidneys intentionally with diabetes so he could be unemployed, but now he's in the hospital as this is the 5th year of dialysis. He dies this year and no one will mourn him. Said aunt is rotting away in a similar manner, though she's degenerating in different areas, namely her sight and claiming everyone in the world is a chronic liar EXCEPT her.
And finally, we found out that the grandfather of the Wife is ALSO full of FAS and he's a total coward who tried to call the cops on my father for trying to talk to my brother. This failed hard for the old man since he has zero right to prevent a father from seeing his child and the cops now have it logged that the old man made a bogus emergency call.
But even with that said, this is reaching a breaking point for me and I cannot handle it.
My father has issues he won't address and he frequently causes many issues around the house and for our family on a GOOD day, so he is NOT helpful in the emotional damage my mother is suffering. She lost her son and her granddaughter to her disgusting, insane sister who ALWAYS stole things from her all her life, and she mourns it every single day, and it won't end until those THINGS stop breathing.
And now we know the old man is an accomplice keeping my brother hidden from his own family.
No joy is in my life in any manner, just fleeting moments. My brain is filled with chaotic events of what I should do, what I could do, and never anything useful. I wake and all I know is that I will try and fail to console my mother. That my father will be useless, and hinderance, and sabotage everything because of his issues he refuses to address.
This is robbing me of years of my life I needed to prep for the real world, where I would get some "final teachings" from my parents to go and make it on my own.
No, I don't get that.
Dark thoughts swirl in my brain all day long, though I've managed to keep them at bay. Something in this insane stalemate has to break...
I hope it's not my mind...

Who's that dinosaur?!
General | Posted 3 years agoSome folks say they see a dinosaur with donuts who claims that they are growing stronger as they go through my gallery.
I'm here to say it's OKAY, he's here to help. There WAS a picture there containing an offending image as per FA's impending 2.7 policy, but he's replaced it with assurance that he's getting stronger.
He is making sure that all the comments, especially from those who are no longer with us, are still present and archived.

The "image swap" method?
General | Posted 3 years agoI'm finding it virtually impossible to delete these older submissions...
I can't watch the comments go.
Artists who aren't around, artists who have passed away... I can't do that.
But if the submission doesn't have the "thing that breaks the rules" in it, then it should be fine, right?
Has anyone done this? How effective is it?

Important words for everyone here.
General | Posted 3 years agoIn a normal situation, I'd not touch my gallery, I have nothing they can pin on me as "cub" as I made certain I swept through my gallery with a fine toothed comb.
But just a couple days ago, I realized I never backed up the art made by my deceased sweetheart
renamon19 and so I did so.
To my horror, one of his images had been deleted (that I thankfully already had saved) because it was a spur of the moment thing. I then found other images he did, including one including my character, his character, and
keeperofjunk and I realized... I'm the only one out of those three who's still alive... It was soul rattling and I'm still not over the loss of my sweetheart 13 years ago.
Then the clarification came out, specifically tagging "small" pokemon or "first stage" pokemon... So what does this mean for Zangoose who only has one stage? I refuse to send out a ticket, that puts you in the bullseye and they will FIND something that they deem violates the rules.
But the more damning one is that they listed Gatomon. I had two gatomon OCs and even though I specifically have them anthroed, what the hell will the ruling be?
I normally would do nothing. I would leave my gallery as is.
... but as I went into my early gallery pics... I saw comments left by users who aren't alive anymore. I saw images done by people who have outright vanished. I run the risk of my gallery being banned simply because ONE image that some mod/admin doesn't like and those comments, those images, can be lost... And I can't let that happen.
I therefore will be going through my gallery and removing all of my Zangoose and gatomon images and backing them up on IB.
I hate this so much...
Because what is this for? What is this witch hunt aimed at? Vore and Teen Pregnancy doesn't "protect minors". Deleting Gatomon and Cubone pics doesn't protect minors.

Ultraman + Monster Rancher!
General | Posted 3 years agohttps://youtu.be/2qGu1TEN4WA
This game is a joy, it's the familiar Monster Rancher formula, but you raise the monsters from the Ultraman series. It's very beginner friendly and all the monsters are quite amusing.
The only downside is it's currently a Nintendo Switch exclusive, but if you have a switch, go for it ^^.

Trias Is a fantastic artist of who I've commissioned many great images from and who'd love to make some sexy comics, but cannot feasibly do so without proper funding so that they can take fewer individual commissions per month and use the time to make the comic pages.
If YOU can't donate, then share the journal with your friends and people who would LIKE to donate to it.
