Head-fitting funness and Car accidents, oh my! :-O
Posted 14 years agoStarted off absolutely perfect! Drove over to 
lexi_foxxx to get fitted for my head piece, which was absolutely fun and didn't take too much time since this foxy needed to get to work remotely close to on time. Well, the adventure continued as soon as I crashed into this crazy driver in front of me who on a whim decided to SLAM on his breaks, thus making me do the same, and since it was raining, I rear-ended the guy. =/ So, poor little foxy is all shook up and had to get all this insurance shinanigans all sorted out. Luckily, I'm safe and that's all that matters. My poor car (named Roadrunner [due to the horn sounding like the Roadrunner from the Loony Toons...]) started leaking radiator fluid along with power steering fluid = not good. So, I had to call in to work and tell them I couldn't come in (booo, 8 hours missing from my paycheck). -.-
Now, I'll be looking to investing in a new car, depending on if they total my car on Friday (which I really hope they do because my car is going to shit anyway). So, here's to me praying that things from this point on will go my way. (since this really hasn't been my year... things should be looking up, right?)
Oh and also, Lexi is amazing and wonderful and I absolutely love her to pieces! <3 Seeing her in the morning totally made the day well worth it!

I know I would need a reference sheet drawn, any idea as to who is willing to draw something up for my fursona would be much appreciated (I'll pay, of course). Also, if anyone knows of anyone who is open for commissions to make an epic partial fursuit for me, I would love to hear about that too! Posted 14 years agoI know, I fail at life still for not completing the 30 days of me thing, but to be perfectly honest, I haven't had much time to come on here and dedicate five minutes of my life and time to write anything. -.- I'm still doing great though, I'm actually going on a mini vacation to Palm Springs starting tonight, after I get out of class and everything. It's going to be a grand adventure and I deserve every minute of relaxation.
It's really hard to work and go to school 7 days a week, it really is. A fox needs a break at some point in her life. ^_^ Anyway, I'm looking in to making a fursuit for myself, so if any of you have some advice as to how I'm supposed to do this correctly, much would be very appreciated. I already have all the links that Matrices provided me, but if there is more out there, I'd appreciate all the help I can get. ^_^ My Lena will be complete hopefully before I go on the Furry Cruise in December! If not, its totally fine because I'll still go anyway!

I took a little break from this. I was getting a bit overwhelmed with having to post one of these every single day. Sure it says 30 days, but that doesn't necessarily mean I have to post them every single day, right?
Anyway, onward ho! I only consider only one of my siblings my brother and that's my younger brother, Nick. =) He is 22 years old and works at Disneyland as some of the characters and even partakes in the parades that Disneyland has to offer! He' s so determined to learn new things, like stilt walking and because he has that ability, he is now able to do stilt walking at Disneyland! Freaking epic right? Oh, have I mentioned he is in Fantasmic, too? Yeah, he does that, as well. All in all, he is pretty much my favorite brother and the only person who has been a brother to me. We've grown apart and grown back together and he's been there for me when I needed him the most and I for him! Oh and the random cookie making and brownies/cake time we have together is a ton of fun too.
The other sibling, is older. Don't consider him anything in my life. Sure he is family and all, but he is no family to me and I don't think I will ever consider him family...

Posted 14 years agoI feel like I'm a horrible person for not being able to help a friend in need. I'm able to take her to the Emergency Room, but I can't stay because I have to wake up at 5am tomorrow in order to be at a nursing home to do clinical for school. I have my responsibilities which I have to follow through with and to me missing a day is a set back for me. It seriously is, I work pretty much full time and if I did miss a day, I would have to take time out of my work schedule in order to make it up. I don't know, I just want to be done with school so I can actually do things that I want to do in order to help my friends and everything. =/
And i just wish my sadness would go away, I hate feeling this down all the time. I'm so upset and hurt that shit always seems to happen to me and I seem to not be able to stay in a lasting relationship. He hurt me like crazy and now I don't think I can trust anyone anymore. Oh well, I'll stop venting now....

30 Days of Me <3 - Day 10
Posted 14 years agoDay 10 – An inspiration
My inspiration are my friends and my family. Without them, I wouldn't be who I am today and I don't think I would be writing this journal if it weren't for them. I've had a shit ton of crap happen to me all at once and I didn't think I could pull through it all, one bit. But somehow, they managed to be there for me and have inspired me to move on, become stronger and continue pursuing my career as a nurse. What else inspires me is being able to make a difference in someone's life and knowing that I made a difference in the world too. =) Helping patients is what makes me want to become a nurse more and more each and every day that I live. Xoxo.

I've been trying to figure out my beliefs for a very long time and I'm not sure where I label myself with how my beliefs are. I'm Jewish, yes, but I don't really like the way organized religion is handled. Its totally fine to believe in a higher power, I have nothing against that, but I'm not a big fan of those that come to me and try to convince me to convert and be saved. I'm not even entirely sure there is a God either. I think I'm more of a spiritual person. I love being one with nature and experiencing the beauty that is all around me. <3 There could be something out there, there could not be, but all I know is that I accept myself for who I am and I accept others for who they are. I'm not one to judge another person for what they believe in and I expect the same respect to be returned to me. =)
I've been trying to figure out my beliefs for a very long time and I'm not sure where I label myself with how my beliefs are. I'm Jewish, yes, but I don't really like the way organized religion is handled. Its totally fine to believe in a higher power, I have nothing against that, but I'm not a big fan of those that come to me and try to convince me to convert and be saved. I'm not even entirely sure there is a God either. I think I'm more of a spiritual person. I bought this really neat huge fan when I was visiting in Israel and it has a painting of dolphins on it with a purple sky and pretty sun. I've had it for so many years now, but it always brings me back to Jaffa where I got it. Very interesting street market place where they had a ton of stuff for you to choose from.
I also love all my tinkerbell stuff! She makes me happy too, as does my laptop and all the books and movies that I own. =) And a bluray DVD player that I will NOT be giving back to jerk-face ex douchebag POS. =)

I have several best friends, so I'll write about each and every one of them.
First one is Danny, or as I call him, Yulia. I met him when I was in High School and we've been friends ever since. If there is anyone I need to talk about anything without being judged and getting the advice that I need to hear, its him that I go to. Sure it's blunt advice, but seriously, it's been helpful in more occasions than one. We've been through thick and thin together and I know I can always rely on him to be there for me when I need him the most. We have epic adventures, so random, and hilarious alltogether. He has a girlfriend, her name is Anna and she is the sweetest thing on this planet! She's the one that started the Free Hugs thing at the con when I went to Califur, and then I continued it for her! =)
Heather is another best friend, I've also known her for the longest time too. Her older brother and I were in the same grade and went to the same school together. Unfortunately, he passed away almost 4 years ago and I miss him dearly. Heather is also another friend of mine that I can go to for advice. She's going to Respiratory Therapy school and is also an EMT like me! She's so much fun to be around and I can't wait until she and I move in together. She has a son named Jayden who is a year and 4 months old now. =) I love the little bugger and I love her immensely too.
And Lacey! I met her through my ex. She lives a bit further away from me, but she is honestly way epic and such a beautiful person. She and I have so much in common its absolutely amazing. She's been here for me through thick and thin too and was the one who actually convinced me to break it off with my ex, who was at the time treating me like shit and not being there for me. He considers her his sister, and she considers him her brother, but I don't think they've talked in a while either. All I know is she is pissed at him for what he did to me. But yes, Lacey is epic! She loves to bowl and makes skateboard deck designs.
So, those are my best friends and without them in my life, I wouldn't be who I am today! <3

Well, whenever I have time to do anything, I pretty much knit, read books, go bowling, mini-golfing, play video games, etc. I just wish I would have more time to do all these fun things, but alas, I don't. So instead, at work I just knit or read a book. Maybe I sleep too when I get the chance. I know, I'm a boring person. Lol. Hai, I like long walks on the beach and stuffs. =) So, fun things are my hobbies. I love listening to music and everything too. Yay for epic iPodness.
I apologize for this journal entry being so lame and all, I'm epically tired and I have to wake up at 5am in order to drive to San Dimas for clinical, then to school afterwards to do more clinical practice until 10pm. =/ Sleeeeep, MY BED!!! *nom nom noms*

This is going to be a tough one to write, kind of postponed it until now so I don't have to cry as much when I get myself a nice drink to distract me from the hurt.
Love is unconditional. It's when you wake up in the morning with a big smile on your face, knowing that that one person will always be there for you, no matter what. It's that one phone call that makes a huge difference in the day, just a "Hi, how are you feeling today?" Or even hearing those three special words that mean pretty much everything in the world to you both. It's having secrets between the two of you, inside jokes, laughing at the little things. Having butterflies in your tummy every time their face crosses your mind, that jolt in your heart, skipping a beat when they kiss you tenderly. Love is when they show up and surprise you with flowers just because. Love is about growing together and moving forward in life. It's about being their for each other through thick and thin, no matter how difficult things get in life. You will always know you will have that go to person.
Being in love is an important aspect in life and it's the best feeling in the world. But when that love is taken away from you it's the most painful feeling in the world. *sighs* And that's my definition of love and now I hurt so much again, I think I'm going to drink the pain away. =( I hate crying.

Oh goodness, where to begin? I listen to pretty much everything and anything, with the exception of very hardcore rap and a few other things. But you name it, I pretty much got it on my iPod. At the moment, I have 6100 songs on there and I couldn't be any more happier with it. I have a shit ton of Disney, Glee, Country, Classic Rock, Rock, Metal, etc, etc. My music selection is spastic and I'm very proud to dance along with my music while I'm at work, not feeling ashamed or caring that there are others in their vehicles staring at a red-headed chick dancing in an ambulance.
Bands/Music I listen to- Disney (Pretty much anything), Musicals_ Phantom of the Opera, Rent, Wicked, Jesus Christ Superstar, Starmites; Country, minus bluegrass and the real ultra twangy stuff, but I love everything they play on 105.1 and 95.1, so it makes me happy. Bands- System of a Down, Pennywise, Rage against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Queen, Metallica, Britney Spears, Mandy Moore, Bruno Mars, Eminem, Lady Gaga, music from glee, basshunter, etc, etc. It's honestly a wide selection that it's impossible to name them all, but that's just a few...

My father works as a computer programmer for this small company somewhere down in Irvine. He is very involved with the synagogue that I go to. He can be a bit of a meanie-face sometimes but that's because he knows what's right for us and what's not. Then again, he yells constantly and it gets kind of ridiculous. Aside from the yelling and ranting, he's actually a pretty cool guy. Ha ha. Wow, ya, no comment.
My mother works as a Registered Nurse! She and I have gotten really close lately and I've been able to talk to her about pretty much anything. She is a homehealth nurse and an excellent wound care nurse at that. I had these gnarly spider bites and I learned a lot as to how to make them heal faster and have minimal scarring in the end. She's really sweet and always means well. Her laugh is absolutely hilarious and I always try to make her laugh really loud just to get on my dads nerves while watching TV. It's kinda sorta epic. Oh, she loves board games and we play a ton of those when her best friend is visiting, who is also like a mommy to me!
All in all, I love both my parents very much and I wouldn't be where I am today because of them. They've been supportive and absolutely amazing lately. Yay for my parents!! =)

Getting Pulled Over
Posted 14 years agoJust got pulled over, again, for the second time in a time span of 3 weeks. First time I was driving the 241 (Toll Road) to get to work and it was the day after I broke up with my ex and I was all emotional and stuff. So, I was driving around 90 miles per hour and the cop pulls me over. Obviously I'm aware I was speeding, and I just started bawling my eyes out, the cop just looks at me, tells me to calm down and not worry about it. He let me off with a warning telling me that I should slow down, and that he expected me to be the first on a scene of an accident if there ever was one. Epic win!!!

First love? Well, the longest relationship I've ever had was about 2.5 years. His name was Eric and he was a really sweet guy. We started going out in High School and I was actually going to graduate that year. At that time, I was a really shy person, not as open as I am today. I was quiet, not that talkative, and so was he. Despite the fact that he didn't talk much, he was in acting and actually doing stage performances, and on top of that, in choir. He was very talented, really sweet, and nice. =) We were together for about two and a half years. Unfortunately it didn't work out but I believe it might have been for the best. I learned a lot about myself in this relationship and have improved in relationships I've had previously. He's actually going to get married this upcoming October I believe, which is pretty cool. I'm very happy for him.

Day 30 – Your aspirations
Hmm, so about me huh? First off, I am never really all that great at talking about who I am and what not without sounding like I'm conceited and I definitely know I'm not in any way. So lets do this!
My name is Bekka aka Lena Garnet, 25 year old female/fox. I was born in Stockholm, Sweden, yes I do speak Swedish and its by far the coolest language I have ever been able to utilize in my life. Every time my mother calls me and I answer, pretty much anyone I'm around has to do a double take and be all, "Omg, what on Earth was that language, that's soooo cool!" I have two brothers, one of them younger and the other older (whom I do not consider to be my brother in any way due to many reasons I choose not to say.) My mom and dad are still married and we live in Anaheim, about 20 minutes away from the Happiest Place on Earth, DISNEYLAND!!! Wooo!!
So I kinda wish I did have a pass, but I don't technically need one because my younger brother, Nick, is epically fantastic and works at Disneyland so I am able to get in for free. =) Not that I have all the time in the world to go.
I'm currently working as an EMT for a private ambulance company in Orange County, and they also are in Los Angeles, as well as San Diego. Apparently we will be getting a Riverside contract too, but I haven't seen that happen yet. Continuing on! I'm also in Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) school and I have about 5 months and 6 days left! I also got in to Santa Ana College for RN school and I have a meeting with them today which I'm very, very, very excited about! I'm crossing my fingers everything goes well.
I'm very laid back, but I know when I need to be serious. I'm spontaneous and I thrive on epic adventures to be happy. I hope I'm fun, quirky, weird, sweet, caring, adorable, and other words that describe me! I'm also fluffy, but I'm working to make that fluffiness be small fluffiness. And when I get paid again I'll be starting my journey of making a fursuit so I will need all the help I can get! =)

Such an amazing experience!
Posted 14 years agoI had such a wonderful and epic time this year at Cali-fur! I cannot believe how many new friends I made in the process, but I think it might be because I was giving out Free Hugs. What can I say? Free hugs are absolutely fantastic and everyone who loves hugs always deserves to receive them. Besides, they make people feel welcome and happier because they sure as hell took the pain and hurt away from me. =) I'm officially happy and stoked and can't wait to get started on my fursuit! It will be a process, but I now have an idea as to how to get started thanks to awesome tutorials and what have you's!!
So please keep in touch, I'll be on here every once in a while, and perhaps draw stuff too! Oh, and show off my knitting! I'm making socks and a scarf right now, with more scarves to come later because epically fuzzy ad fluffy yarn is so cool and very pretty, especially with pretty colors on them. =)
