Posted 9 years agoWhos going to be at FC? With all the holidays it kinda crept up. Its less than three weeks away. These months just seem to fly by. And I think Im kind of OK with that aince this year has been kinda terrible.
Also, ive gotten some questions about badges for the con. I totally forgot about that too, I normally do them for any con Im attending. Been busy with RL, some other projects, and work for the FC Art show (posted about that on Patreon). But I think I can do a couple of badges. So, if you want a badge for FC, send me a PM. They will be 4x6, laminated, with a clip, and Ill personally hand them over at the con.

I am slowly working up on stuff that I owe here. But it's all juxtaposed to the time clock of me moving back home. I am like a drowning man waiting for his first take of fresh air!

Comic Book Commission!
Posted 9 years agoIf you guys have been following me on Patreon, you've probably noticed that I've been working on two different comics in conjunction with two other people (Century, and Real Wrestling). I just finished the last page of the first chapter of Real Wrestling (which I'll be posting here, stay tuned!), and while there will be a second chapter to that comic, I'm kinda curious to know what else I could work on. I'm always looking for a good story.
So, I'm opening for a comic book commission. It will cost $300, be a minimum of 7 pages (more if needed, or if not in color), and around 2-4 characters. For a good feel of what it will be like, check out the Real Wrestling comic here, or all the ones I'm working on at Patreon.

Unlike regular commissions, I would like to hear the story and see the characters first. I would hate to end up as a brain printer in such a long project. Ideally, you'll have a general idea, and we can work together to flesh it out. The way the other two comics have worked, is that I was given a general idea, the characters, and free reign to make it develop. This was awesome (even if it ended up adding four pages more to get there).
Now, as a general disclosure, this will take time. Art takes time. It's a known fact. Those two comics I've been working on have been posting weekly. So expect the project to be completed in two months minimum. Better to be done right, than fast.

Posted 9 years agoI have received a lot of support last week. Much more than I thought I would. It wasn't even about the commissions, it was the messages asking me if everything was ok. You never realize how much they mean until something happens.
A little bit more backstory: A year or so I had a car stolen from work. I went in to work, and when I came out, the car was gone. I didn't know it at the time, but Tacoma is apparently pretty high up on the list of cities for stolen vehicles (I hear that it's because they steal the cars, fill them with drugs, and then drive them to Canada). Now, If you've known me for a while, you'll know that I HATE driving, I truly do. When I lived in LA, it wasn't much of an issue since everything was close, or was close enough to reliable public transportation that it didn't matter. Here, on the other hand, you really have to have a car. If I want groceries, or to go to the movies, or do anything outside of going to a nearby 7-11, I HAVE to have a car or be content with walking at least two miles. Which wouldn't be so bad if it didn't rain. So when my car was towed, I really freaked out. I thought that my car had been stolen again, and I would never get it back. It's an awful feeling, that left me frazzled for a couple of days.
So, thank you guys for your help and kind words, they really helped.

Bad Weekend / Commissions.
Posted 9 years agoSo, there are some times when the universe gives you hints and you just have to know when to get a clue.
This Saturday was definitely one of the worst days of my LIFE. It all started with the hubby taking off to hempfest with his friend and taking my car. I don't mind him taking my car, since it's more comfortable, but he forgot to leave me the keys to his car. So I was stranded all day. Did some cleaning, so it wasn't all that bad. Turns out that he didn't make it to hempfest because there was no parking, and whatever was available was $50+ for the day. So he said fuck it, and came back.
When a couple of friends came over later that day, I tried to fry some wontons, and the oil ended up overflowing all over the kitchen. I didn't get burned, just a couple of rogue drops here or there, but my kitchen was pretty much covered in oil. No biggie, just made something else. But, add insult to injury, one of my friends, and my husband, the man I married confessed that they didn't like Rocky Horror.
The entire night culminated with my car getting impounded and I had to pay about $400.00 to get it back (turns out the impound lot charges about $50 per day for keeping it, plus an initial $300 for towing it). Add some heavy fines by the police, and a really busted tire, and all I wanted to do on Sunday was crawl under a rock.
After getting my car back, the entire debacle ended costing me about $1,300.00
I normally have a stream that I like doing on Sundays, but I was so done that I couldn't do it. I was definitely not in a state of mind.
I really have to thank the guys at FurPlanet for helping me out. I seriously owe them one.
Next time I see a day start this badly on the wrong foot, I'm going to just stay in bed and not get out.
So, in order to recoup my losses, I'm going to lower the costs of my commissions to$40 for a full color commish, with a simple background, and up to three characters. If interested, please send me a PM.

Posted 9 years agoPut in my application for a dealer's table at FC. I really hope I get one, I had a lot of fun at Califur in the dealer's room. It was quite the change to have a spot to sit around and not have to constantly roam around the halls. Hahahah!
If I do get the table, need to come up with some stuff to have out there. I'll have a couple of copies of Perception, but since FurPlanet and Sofawolf are both going to be there, I may focus on something else.
I had some badges featuring the guys from Perception, will probably have more of those. I think I did about 25+ badges at that con, it was crazy!

Anyways, with FC coming up, I figured I would do some badges. So, while I'm not taking regular commissions right now, I am taking badges all the way up to January 5th.
They will be up to 6" x 8" in size, full color, and laminated.
I'm not opposed to mailing them, but Would prefer to deliver them personally at FC.

On that note, I know I joke around a lot about it, but I am definitely willing to do commissions for MTG cards, specifically Gideon and Ulamog from BFZ. Especially now that I closed down my ebay account (assholes!). So, yeah, if you want art as a trade for your magic cards, definitely drop me a line! =D

Posted 10 years agoHad problems with eBay. They told a seller to send a package to the wrong address even though I told him, several times not to send it to that address. Then they blamed me for not updating my address. The thing is that I did! But they have six different addresses, and some really old ones from back when I was living in Santa Monica, five years ago!
They absolutely suck. Now there is a rare Magic card floating around somewhere in Minneapolis.
I am PISSED! Never using them again.
