Remember FA resizes your stuff.
Posted 7 years agoI've seen some clients uploading the artwork they've gotten from me and losing quality.
When you upload an image bigger than 1280 pixels tall or wide, FA rescales it down and blurrs it, making you lose some of the small details and crispy lines. If the art you got is kinda messy to begin with it won't make much difference though.
The way to avoid that loss of quality is by uploading a copy the image with a different filename than the final one, so you have the preview and thumbnail matching your final image. Then you go to the submitted image and one of the options under it will be "Change submission file", which will let you reupload now the correctly named image and this time it will stay in your gallery in that bigger size. Using two different file names helps you avoid problems with the low tech systems FA is built on, to make sure it updates the file at all.
HOWEVER! Before uploading the biggest image you can, take a second to consider if you should.
Is your image really detailed? If yes, then go ahead and upload a big size image so we all can enjoy the hard work put into the detail by the artist. But if it's not detailed you should consider that the viewer will be greeted with something unintellegible plastered on their face until they zoom out manually... it's not pleasant when there's nothing to see up close.
Basically remember that we are on the interwebs, we are going to see the image in an electronic device's screen. In many cases it'll be a greater experience to receive the whole image on the screen right away, specially - as I said before - when there's no relevant detail to see up close.

Posted 7 years agoSo I got super sick a week ago, in constant pain throwing up all day, after two days I felt great and got started commission sketches, but I was careless and stuffed my face with food and my stomach couldn't take it, I had a relapse that lasted for four'ish days, it's surprisingly easy to lose track of time while being in pain and staying in bed trying to sleep it off.
Anyway, I'm getting better again, and this time I actually saw what type of foods my stomach was having trouble working with... lol. So I'll be careful and avoid that food for a while.
I'll resume working soon and get those commissions done :)

Share your experience moving from a drawing tablet to a drawing screen with me, please? How much of an improvement/change it was? Any drawbacks like wrist problems or struggling to adapt to work having your hand between the screen and your eyes?

Why I don't livestream anymore.
Posted 7 years agoMy internet connection is very unstable, it disconnects randomly, some days it's every 5 minutes, other days it's pretty stable all day.
Those reconnections cause the streams go on and off, and send notifications for a "new stream" every time.
Even if people don't complain to me about it, I know it's annoying as fuck... I watch game livestreams, and sometimes art livestreams, and it's hard to bear with it when it's not properly set up and causes lot of buffer from their end and stuff like that, so in the back of my head it's the little voice telling me that I need to stop until I fix my problem.
However, the connection has been like this for about a year now. Several technicians have come to check it out, none of them has repaired it, and I'm stuck with this being the only IP in town.
I can't even play online games most of the time because of this. Imagine PUBG with a teammate disconnecting when he's driving the car, or he lags behind to sometimes never come back because reconnecting to games just doesn't always work.
So... yeah... since I don't have a reliable connection anymore I just mostly gave up streaming altogether, because I hate the idea of spamming notifications and annoying everybody.

Posted 7 years agoThere's many people who want to draw, but feel like their lack of skill is good enough excuse to stop themselves from doing it. I've felt that too, I put my own comic projects on hold for years because I felt like I don't have the skill to craft it to the level I want it to be. And I don't need to be a genius to figure out why we end feeling that way... we grow impossible expectations based on the work that the top artists produce in the fandom.
That mindset holds you back from actually growing your skill, expressing your ideas, telling your stories, and even prevents you from enjoying what you fucking do. It's a really bad mindset to stay stuck on. For a while I was in that hole feeling like my art sucks because I can't make it like the best artists... and I've seen many other artists around hating their craft too.
I managed to break from it early on, gladly, and be able to keep my old art on display as a reminder of how far I've come instead of feeling bad about it.
If you wanna draw, just go ahead and do it and show us. Because there's something as, if not more, important than the skill level of the drawing itself: The story being told with the image. Yes, you can tell us a story using shitty wobbly mushy lines or even stick figures, and if that story is interesting, there will be an audience looking at it and enjoying it.
Instead of looking at the top artist, take a peek at the bottom, and see how many cool stories are being told there aswell.
Draw what you have in your head, even if it doesn't translate perfectly from your mind to the canvas. Have fun doing it, enjoy being able to make something people will look forward to see more of from you. Enjoy your craft even if is not as good as you would like it to be, because as you do it it'll get better, practice makes perfection, and talent only gives you a head start but won't make you run.

I want to make a couple character bends. It can be either the gender or the body build... so, for example a thin dude can turn into a big muscle dude or a thin sexy lady. Only male or female, to not complicate it for me this time since it's an experiment. :D
Has to be characters that have not gotten a bend drawing like that before. And has to be your own character, even close friends might not appreciate it if you surprise them with such desecration of their character all of a sudden xD
I wanna throw my own interpretation of how the character would look after the change, but I'll listen to specifics on details that are important for you.
I'll start with 2 max and see how it feels, but feel free to jump in even after two people have commented to get a slot because I might pick a few more later on.

Everything sucks

Right now I'm being surrounded by two family members stepping on my toes, showing they don't want me here at all.
It makes sense to not want me around, I'm not social, I don't make friends easily or keep them easily. For my family I'm that one guy who grows vegetables in the garden and complains when they bring in dogs that target his plants for some fucked up weird reason. So, since I'm not social with them, I'm just a bother even if I don't really get in anyone's way over here.
Being an introvert makes it pretty tough to live around people in society, people just assumes one is angry and weird because of not accepting to go party and meet new people all the time. Other introverts would get it that some just needs more time alone to recharge between interactions and that's all.
But my family is not like that, I'm the only introvert, so I'm just weird and over the years they settled in the idea that I hate everything and I make problems out of nothing when I do speak out because they are stepping on my toes by making decisions related to the place we share, without talking anything out with me.
That's been my problem here for decades now, but it's getting really bad lately, talking with them does nothing, even when they agree to give me back some respect... it only takes a month or two before reverting back to doing things that affect me without regard of my opinion. I feel cornered... I want out.
I have no attachment to this place or the people anymore. I need to move out of here, but I don't make enough money to just rent an apartment on my own... I could probably cover the rent, but nothing else, no food or bills. So I'm looking through options. I really want to keep drawing, so I'll try to make it work around that first and foremost.
Good thing I was never self destructive, or I would be all broken under this depression and stress.

I wanted to describe a little how I'm going to run my Patreon to maybe get some of you on board ovo.
Each support tier also has access to the rewards of all the previous ones, of course.
- Tier 1 patrons ($1) get early access to comic pages and any content produced under Patreon support, also access to project sneak peeks. Also get to participate of special events for milestones. Will be things like livestreams where I draw fan art with your input or make giveaway doodles, stuff like that.
- Tier 2 patrons ($2) get to participate leaving AMA questions to my characters, and can vote in polls for fanart of your favorite characters from movies, anime, other artists, etc. Every month I'll do either an AMA response or a fan art poll. Also get credited on the last page of the comics produced with your support. ALSO become elegible for background spots, where better cameos and even some interactions with the main characters will be available for people supporting for longer time without making appearences or are supporting with higher tiers. These cameo spots can be gifted to a friend, that's cool with me.
- Tier 3 patrons ($5) can download Hi-Res versions of the full comics past and future as soon as they are completed. All my content will be here on FA for free and uncensored by the way, these downloads being higher resolution doesn't mean that the resolution I'll show here will be potato... not at all, patrons just get to download an even higher res.
- Tier 4 patrons ($10) get dibs for general commission slots before I open for public. They get notified one day early.
- Tier 5 patrons ($15) well, this tier will be there just in case someone wants to help with that ammount, but for now I don't have anything special to give back for it other than my honest gratitude. If the support grows I'll make sure to give back something acceptable for this tier.
This is how it's set for now as I start, and I'll be fine tunning further as it hopefully grows and I can reliably count on that support to work on my comic series that will begin after the current YCH project is done (It's already looking good, I'm halfway done). That comic series will cover a lot of different sexual match-ups and kinks following a developing story through several chapters.
I'm open for questions, suggestions and critique for all this. I'm only just getting started.

Posted 7 years agoTurning 35... feel super old. Failed at so many things so far, specially human relationships. At least I like my job as artist, even if I'm barely making enough, but, eh, doing what I can ovo, and it feels it can only get better if I keep going... right? :D

I'll select up to 10 entries, and then you have until I reach 3000 watchers, or May 28th, whatever happens SECOND, to submit your drawing by replying to my response to your initial comment, leaving a link to your drawing in your gallery. And then I'll start drawing the participants... maybe in a live stream, but that is not a promise, my internet it's been shit for months and they can't get it fixed.
Don't push yourself to draw something too complicated just to get something very detailed from me, you'll end up hating me and yourself xD. Let's just focus on having a good time drawing each other ovo.
Alright! To participate leave comment telling me (1) if you like pineapple on pizza or not, (2) a link or two to a single character of yours for me to draw, and (3) 2 to 5 personality traits so I can give your character an appropiate expression and pose.

Big YCH auction project, and Patreon launch!

I don't paywall any of the content I make, you can see everything here in my FA gallery without censoring, so I really could use your support. Posted 7 years agoSee, I'm not a workaholic, I value relaxation and peace a little high in my list. I don't have a strong drive to make myself useful before I die, just being kinda decent person and not getting in the way of people who are doing good is enough for me.
So I have a constant battle to stay at work for long time. I struggle at being perseverant.
So I wanted to ask, how do you motivate yourself to keep going and get done what you have to get done? Do you struggle with lazyness and comfort like me, or you have that natural fire under your ass pushing you to work work work?
I wanna know your experience.

No soy para nada trabajólico, valúo relajación y paz bien alto en mi lista. No tengo un deseo intenso por hacerme útil antes de morir, solo ser al menos una persona relativamente decente me satisface.
Asi que tengo una batalla constante para seguir trabajando por horas.Tengo un conflicto permanente para ser perseverante.
Asi que quería preguntar cómo lo haces tú, cómo te motivas para seguir adelante y hacer lo que tienes que hacer? Tienes problemas con la flojera y comodidad como yo, o tienes esa llama natural que te empuja trabajar?
Quiero conocer tu experiencia.

Do you cringe when looking at past artworks?
Posted 7 years agoI sure fucking do xD And not only the oldest stuff I drew at the start, some of the stuff made not so long ago makes me all cringy when I see it... so many flaws, disproportions, anatomy and things in general that I feel ashamed for doing the way I did at the time.
BUT! Big but here. I like big buts. I keep all that old stuff in the gallery because at the end of the day it's all proof of the progress I have made, and even if I'll keep taking a step backwards once in a while, gotta make sure I keep taking two steps forward after that.
Let's take the cringe and shame in the right proportion as a milestone of our progress, and keep moving forward.

2018 plans and goals \o/
Posted 7 years agoI never do new year resolutions because I've noticed it's easy to miscalculate perseverance and stress levels of oneself through the hype of trying harder and anew next year, and failure to keep up with those unreasonable resolutions just leads to disappointment and depression.
But! That being said, I do have plans that carry on normally from the previous year, check 'em out:
1. I'm gonna offer printed physical badges soon. Shipping only in the US and Canada, and if there's a good response and people likes them I'll see to ship worldwide later on. At first it'll be only the digital plus physical option because I want to see if everything works well with the making and shipping, and after a few of those I'll offer the option for only digital in case you want to print and laminate them yourself :)
2. Sometime soon aswell I'll start uploading an 8 page adult comic commission I did for TheBlackRook. It's completed now, and we are letting his Patreon supporters have first access before it goes to general public.
3. Production of my first original comic series is already in progress. It's adult content, but it has some balance on developing characters, their stories and relationships, with a slightly stronger focus on their sexual encounters to keep the sex comics about sex. I have high hopes that you'll like it. Once this comic starts going public I'll also launch my Patreon page, and hope for the best xD If I can have some support I'll be able to work more on those comics which, if they succeed in getting people interested, won't have any shortage of ideas to produce more chapters for a decade ahead because I have enough content written down to produce at least 25 separate comic chapters of 40ish pages each. It'll start vanilla, and will explore kinks as it goes on.
4. I want to reach 3000 watchers here this year. It would be amazing and feels achievable, it's not too far of a milestone.
That's it. I hope 2018 works out well for me and for all of you too. ovo
Nunca hago promesas para el siguente año ya que me he dado cuenta que es fácil juzgar incorrectamente los niveles de perseverancia y estrés de uno mismo a través de la emoción de empezar de cero en el año nuevo, y fallar en realizar esas metas insensatas solo te lleva a decepcionarte y deprimirte.
Pero! Aun así tengo planes que continuan normalmente desde el año anterior, tales como:
1. Pronto voy a ofrecer insignias impresas. Envios solo dentro de USA y Canada, y luego si hay una buena respuesta y a la gente le gustan, entoncés veré de envíar a todo el mundo. Al inicio solo habrá opción de forma digital mas forma física ya que quiero ver si todo funciona bien con el proceso de creado y envío, y después de eso ofreceré la opción de solo digital en caso que la quieras imprimir y plastificar tu mismo :)
2. También pronto comenzaré a subir un cómic de 8 páginas comisionado por TheBlackRook. Está terminado, y estamos dejando que su gente en Patreon tenga acceso anticipado antes de que llegue al público general.
3. La producción de mi primer cómic original ya está en progreso. Es contenido para adultos, pero tiene cierto balance en desarrollar los personajes con sus historias y relaciones, con un enfoque ligeramente cargado en sus encuentros sexuales para que el cómic sexual sea sobre sexo. Tengo altas expectativas en que les va a gustar. Una vez este cómic empiece a ser publicado también voy a lanzar mi página en Patreon, y rezar porque todo salga bien xD Si logro tener algo de apoyo podré trabajar mas tiempo en esas historietas que, si logran entusiasmar a la gente, no tendrán escasez de eventos para continuar en el tiempo ya que tengo escrito contenido para al menos 25 diferentes capítulos de mas o menos 40 páginas cada uno. Voy a empezar con sexo básico, pero a medida que la historia continue va a explorar perversiones mas interesantes.
4. Quiero alcanzar 3000 seguidores aquí este año. Sería genial, y parece alcanzable, no es una meta tan lejana.
