Posted 15 years agoSince i figured i had an evening open, i figured id give a review of a game i remember from my childhood, and recently got a
new copy. Its a JRPG from ATLUS, makers of games such as Persona and and Shin Megami Tensai series.This game Is none other
then Thousand arms.
Story:
You start the game as Meis Triumph, the son of a former lord. I say former because days before, the army known as the dark
acyolites attacked the town of Kant, Meis' home town. Meis is a spirit blacksmith, meaning he has the ability to infuse
spirits into weapons and utensils. On his walk of defeat, he comes across the town of boyzby, where he hears a woman
screaming and comes to her aid...only to fail. After a few more events, meis is then trusted by his master to find the Holy
flames and to help save the world.
Along the way you meet up with Sodina, sister to jybil and meis' main love interest. Muza, a great sword wielding solider who
freezes up anytime a girl talks with him. Wyna, daughter of the king of the pirates...and sadly that's not luffy. Kylene, A
green haired money grubber. Soushi, ladies man and samurai. And Nelsha, A shy and nerdy girl who's dream is to become the
greatest dress master.
The story itself is kind of cliched, and quite frankly is very predictable. But the characters themselves are what keeps you
interested and gripped to find out what happens. The relationships change, go through loops and every character has their own
little back story that you search through, as well as interconnecting stories.
Gameplay:
A lot is unique in thousand arms, from the combat to the upgrades you get.
Combat consists of 3 on 3 battles, but with one on one fighting. The character on the front lines is the attacker, he is the
only one that can cause damage without the aid of items. the two characters behind him are the support team, which, as you
guessed it, support the front line as well as each other. the front lines can use special moves, summon spells and use
offensive magic depending on the character. once an option is selected, a timer at the top scrolls down until the action can
be done, which at the time a button press is to activate it. It can lead to some great tension in the battles and really
build up the action.
When you arnt fighting and not forwarding the story, you will be dating the women in your party. This is where the dating sim
comes along. Every woman in your party has 3 attributes in the dating sim. The attribute shows what element they are, the
intimacy level is basically the level of love the woman has for meis, and the mood is the chance of increasing said intimacy
level. The more developed the heart, the more likely she is of liking mies more. In every town there is a golden statue,
this statue is the place where you will start your dates. once you select the woman, you are to either date her, which you
bring her to a spot and she asks you questions which you must answer correctly, a present which can go either way depending
on the present and girl, and the minigame increases the mood of the girl. The dates with the girls are ALWAYS hilarious, as
well as very informative into their characters, which is what you should be focusing on on real dates. With every successful
date, her intimacy increases, in which you can use to upgrade your weapons.
You upgrade your weapons by forging. In order to forge in the world of thousand arms, you need to have a woman by your side.
Each woman, as i stated before, has an elemental power. when you reach a certain level of intimacy, you can begin forging the
weapons with the girl you choose. With each level, comes either specials, magic spells or just makes your weapon a little
stronger. However, in order to upgrade weapons, you have to use up MP. MP isnt magic power....im not sure what its called,
but it is the amount of energy you have for dating women and forging weapons, which you can replenish in battle.
Presentation:
I love the way this game looks. All of the characters, NPCs and monsters are all shown in 2D detailed sprites, with a
multitude of emotions. From Normal, to disappointed, to shock, and lust, the emotions come off very well and really stand out
among the normal 2D sprites we usually see. The graphics on the backgrounds look georgious too, while blocky by today's
standards, the backgrounds are fully rendered 3D environments, complete with a fixed camera that you can rotate around meis.
Voice acting is mixed. While most of them are competent, the rest feel like they are actors just reading off of cue cards,
and there's no real emotion behind it. Music is superb, complete with different styles for each town. The battle music is some
of the best ive heard since Legend of Dragoon.
Cut scenes are presented a little differently. the opening and closing cinematics are made using handdrawn anime, while the
rest of the cutscenes in the game use in graphics.....sort of. What the cinematics in game do is the camera pans down,
swirling away, pausing to load, and you see the characters, now hand drawn and fully animated. which is really cool, and makes you feel like you're in the action.
Overall:
Its a very Unique RPG, and one well worth playing. The lack of re playability and the spotty voice acting can be a downfall, but if you do like unique and well presented games, go find a copy on eBay for only $40.

Its at the double tree and its a 2 twin bed room. Its only me and 2 other people, so there is room for a few other people. the only requirements is that the payment for both nights is $60, and have a basic understanding of hygiene and privacy.

This dreamcast that i got, brand new out of the box is crapping out on me. I had it since christmas and ive used it all but 2 times since i got it. I got some new games for it, and they all came in great condition, no scratches and clean. However, i played some Crazy Taxi 2 ONCE, and after i got a game over, the game froze on me and i had to restart the system. Ever since then, it wont play any game i put in there.
It says disk cannot be read, and it keeps me at the main menu. Ive tried cleaning the lens with 91% alcohol, didnt work.
Ive tried using some paper to keep the lid just a bit open, didnt work. and i dont have the resources to burn the games i have onto CDs.
Any suggestions?

Just earlier today, I was working and it was incrediably busy, as is the lunch hour. IM working on table which means i assemble the sandwiches for you guys to nom on. I continue doing my job and make burger after burger, then one of the associates from the front say that "hey, wheres my cheeseburger with no onions?"
I say back, "I sent it up there about 4 sandwiches ago, but ill make another one"
Now I didnt mind it this time, but by the 7th time they asked for burgers that I already made, i got pissed because its slowing us down and making our time totals go up. I basicly raise my voice because the front kept blaming me for all of their missing sandwiches, which is BS because if anybody knows me when i work i work in a certain order that i make sure i get every sandwich.
we argue for a little while but eventually she shut me up by saying, "Its Mcburger! youre not supposed to take this job seriously"
Which brings me to my point....I did not have a job for 6 months, and my unemployment was BARELY enough to pay the bills. I submitted applications a few days after i got fired, and kept sending them in.
Having sent in probably over 40 applications, i got 3 call backs and 1 interview. I blew all the call backs, but the interview was with mcdonalds.
i nearly gave up after the 5th month, because i wasnt going to school at the time, and i had to start paying my student loan bill at the time. That interview, while at a crappy job, did give me alot of self appreciation.
Point being, No matter what job you are in, its always a job that you should work your best at. I know this because i asked my manager later that day if he would reccomend me at any other jobs. He answered with a definte yes, because i work hard and do my job well. I asked hm about the coworker, he said, "Well, if her job was to support a wall, then i would highly reccomend her."

How my weekend went

First off, ive finally decided what im gonna do for the next few years. Im gonna go to Harrisburg university, finish my bachelors in New Media Design and then get my masters at Full Sail University and obtain my masters in Game Design. Im also going to try and move out of my mom's house at the time, and im actually thinking about moving into my dad's old house, since he is planning to rent it out. ill need a few roommates though ^^; but eh, that will come in time.
In other news, i broke up with corinne. We just couldnt spend time together for some reason, and really, that just bothered me alot. I just dont see the point in having a relationship....when you dont ever see your partner. Well im sure we will be friends...just need some time apart to get our feelings together. Though im still gonna let her room with me at AC. I do feel awful though about breaking up, but really she just kind of left me with no choice after not seeing her for 3 weeks straight and really, it just didnt seem like she cared for me at all.
and finally, I got my tax refund in :3 so......*jumps into my car with a fistful of money and heads to the megamall*

Also, anybody play Beatles rock band? Ive got the weekend off and wanna play some good ole beatles classics :3

A few weeks ago i was searching through pounced and saw an furry who lived near me, and we started chatting. eventually we met up with eachother and had a good time playing lazer tag and video games :3 Our meetup was pretty much our first date, we went out bowling, which she kicked my ass twice ^^; and saw princess and the frog (BTW, go see it now if its still running in your theater). then i dropped her back of at her place. After that it just got better and better. and im proud to call her my mate :3 Love ya Corinne!

You ever miss the days of meeting up with friends and staying up all night, playing and beating your favorite video games, and muching all pizza and junk food till you passed out from tiredness. Well relive those good memories every other week!
This meetup is a biweekly video game mashup of all ages! Modern gamers will be able to play classics that are timeless, while old skool gamers will be able to connect with the gamers today, and have a good time all while hanging out with fellow likeminded people.
THe meetups will have 3 diffrent sections.
Section 1 is the modern gaming room. This will house all the modern consoles (PS3, Xbox 360 and wii) and mor or less feature the largest area. This is the area where people will be able to compete or cooperate on various video games.
Section 2 is the classic game room. SNES, Genesis, NES and MAster System all rule this room. Wanna relive those days when you dropped the banana in front of your friend in Mario Kart? this is the place to do it! Show off your skills or challange other vets to achieve the top score!
Section 3 The video room. This is basicly the relaxation room. We show a movie, either a video game based one or a bad movie to let our Inner Mike, crow and Tom Servo out. Comfortable chairs and bags of popcorn await you in the room of cinema magic!
There will be a vote before the events to determine what games are going to be played in which room, and movies. HOWEVER, as time goes on, there might be a possibility for a theme night every once anda while.
Pizza and refreshments will be provided, though a donation of $5 would be much appreciated to help the cost of said refreshments. whatever is left over, we will give to the Child's play charity. For those of you who dont know what Child's play is, it is an organization that donates money and video game consoles to hospitals to put in their pediatrics department, letting children who are in long term care.
The first meeting will be on January 2nd, at 8 PM. WE are always looking for new players in the Central PA area and online players to play against :3

You ever miss the days of meeting up with friends and staying up all night, playing and beating your favorite video games, and muching all pizza and junk food till you passed out from tiredness. Well relive those good memories every other week!
This meetup is a biweekly video game mashup of all ages! Modern gamers will be able to play classics that are timeless, while old skool gamers will be able to connect with the gamers today, and have a good time all while hanging out with fellow likeminded people.
THe meetups will have 3 diffrent sections.
Section 1 is the modern gaming room. This will house all the modern consoles (PS3, Xbox 360 and wii) and mor or less feature the largest area. This is the area where people will be able to compete or cooperate on various video games.
Section 2 is the classic game room. SNES, Genesis, NES and MAster System all rule this room. Wanna relive those days when you dropped the banana in front of your friend in Mario Kart? this is the place to do it! Show off your skills or challange other vets to achieve the top score!
Section 3 The video room. This is basicly the relaxation room. We show a movie, either a video game based one or a bad movie to let our Inner Mike, crow and Tom Servo out. Comfortable chairs and bags of popcorn await you in the room of cinema magic!
There will be a vote before the events to determine what games are going to be played in which room, and movies. HOWEVER, as time goes on, there might be a possibility for a theme night every once anda while.
Pizza and refreshments will be provided, though a donation of $5 would be much appreciated to help the cost of said refreshments. whatever is left over, we will give to the Child's play charity. Gonna be in florida for thanksgiving :3
Posted 16 years agoYep, ill be at my stepmom's parents place for thanksgiving this year from tomarrow till next sautrday :3 At this time im not sure where exactly we will be but i know its a 2 hour drive away from orlando ^^; So yeah, :3
