3 Year Absence
Posted 9 years agoSo, I've been absent for about 3 years. I'd kind of like to talk about that for a bit. A LOT has happened within those 3 years, including coming to terms with my identity as a furry. So, let's go down the list.
1. I hit a roadblock in school. HARD. It was painful, but I've recovered from it and am moving forward. Long story short is that I burned myself out. And as a result I couldn't keep up with almost anything.
2. I was diagnosed with anxiety. That one was tough. Looking back on it now, it completely destroyed my educational and social life. It's also something that majorly contributed to my 3 year absence.
3. I'm not a "Mature" furry. NO NO I'M NOT A BABYFUR GET OUT OF HERE! I mean that as of right now, I won't be posting any "Mature" or "Adult" related content. I will leave my previous works up because, let's face it, this is the internet and you can't erase it no matter how hard you try. I tried being an adult furry, didn't like it, and am moving on from it.
4. I took the better part of a year trying to learn how to overcome my anxiety and life obstacles. Yes I'm doing the anxiety thing twice because this was the main reason I basically had to hit the reset button on my life.
5. I got a job. And it's time consuming. Doesn't pay well, but at least it's something.
6. I started a new project! It's called Timeline. It's an "Interactive Escape Series on Youtube". That is LITERALLY the best I can do to describe it without giving too much away. I will most likely update you when this launches, which I'm aiming to do by the beginning of next month.
And those are the reasons off the top of my head. I'm probably not going to post very often. So this is just kind of a "what the hell happened to you" update. I'll still lurk, just don't expect too much from me.

I COMPLETED THE NATIONAL POKEDEX!
Posted 12 years agoThis happened a few weeks ago, but after so many years of battling, trading, and agonizing meticulous work of numerous checklists and breeding... I have finally done it. I have completed my national pokedex! I am SOOOOO EXCITED I can't tell you how good it feels! There's just one problem. I'm missing 11 of the "event only" pokemon. If ANYONE out there has an extra copy of one of these pokemon, PLEASE send me a note and I will trade you literally ANYTHING YOU WANT FOR IT*.

How I became a furry
Posted 12 years agoI'm NOT dead! Unbelievable! And I've been thinking a lot lately. How in the world DID I become a furry? And so I decided, why not tell everyone how I became one? Because everyone OBVIOUSLY cares about some guy randomly spouting off stories all the time. (Of course nobody cares)
Well, to start off, I've always loved animals. And animals seem to love me. Except for horses. And that's why I'm afraid of them (that and bees). I've always wanted to be friends with animals because they have so much love to give and ask for so little in return. Actually it's thanks to this I've learned one of the most important lessons in life. Be kind to as many people as you can, and in return they will be kind to you. But back on track, why I became a furry.
Well, I love cats. Yes, this is important and probably the reason why I became a furry in the first place. But my dad's allergic, so we could never have one. And my neighbor had a cat which in retrospect was kind of a jerk but I was about 7 or 8 at the time and couldn't tell that so I always tried to pet the dang thing. And then it nearly bit my hand off and I spent the next I think 4 or 5 years afraid of cats. But what really turned me into a furry was Odd Della-Robia from Code Lyoko. For those of you that don't know who or what that is don't worry you're not the only ones. But he was basically a cat boy. And topped off with his wacky personality I LOVED his character. (Side note here I am SO HAPPY they made Evolution! My mid-childhood crisis of Season 4 is finally over! Granted it's not perfect but I'm happy with it.) And I thought it would be cool to BE his character. And then of course puberty hit and I got curious about it. So I google around a little bit and I think I saw some furry lion character or something at the bottom of the search pages and then I was like, "OH MY GOD THAT IS AWESOME WHAT IS THIS THING?!?" I found out the thing was a furry and then I made the unfortunate mistake of googling that very word. First thing that popped up was an explicit fox saying "Yiff?" to the viewer. (I have the picture for nostalgic purposes.) This of course chased me away from the fandom or a while and then I discovered it's not all about sex on this site (but judging from the number of adult posts here I'd say it's pretty worth mentioning). What got me interested again is I found a really sweet cat a tutor of mine had and I managed to get over my fear of cats and love them all over again. (You see how I circled back around to that? Thought that wasn't important, didn't you?) This got me back into furries and here I am. And now I'm a furry AND love cats again. YAAAAAYYYYYYYY!!!

Birthdays...
Posted 12 years agoI hate having a birthday so close to Christmas. Everyone's so tired out from the holidays that it always just gets swept under the rug. I never really ask for anything special, just a nice dinner that I can take my family to. For all of you who have birthdays in the summer, I admit I envy you a little bit. And I'm turning the big 20. I'm approximately 365 days give or take from being able to legally drink alcohol! With all that's happened in the last few years, it feels like I'm going to need it.
I will admit, though, it's nice from an anonymity standpoint. People ask when your birthday is, and all you have to say is, "During the holidays." and they'll completely drop the subject. Works like a charm (almost) every time.

Breaking the conversation barrier
Posted 13 years agoOKAY, THAT'S IT!!! I'M GETTING OUT THE SOAPBOX!!! (Throws crate to the ground and violently steps onto it.) I did NOT want to say this to anyone since I usually keep my mouth shut about things that bother me, but with the average conversation with someone on here at about 4 words a day, I've had it up to frigging <-- HERE with you people.
Is it me, or does EVERYONE HERE WRITE A ONE SENTENCE ANSWER TO EVERYTHING THEY TYPE?!? Seriously, I'm getting tired of writing these long, lengthy replies to people and getting, something along the lines of "Okay." back. I mean, it REALLY that hard to take 5 more seconds of your time to put something thoughtful or insightful into your comments? Seriously, trying to have a conversation with someone on here is about as difficult as digging through granite with your bare hands. THIS <^<^< is why I don't have a lot of friends or followers on my channel. I mean, yeah, I get it's the internet and you don't want to tell people, say, where you live and things like that, but what does it hurt to say, talk about what happened to you last week at the supermarket? That's general enough, it doesn't leave you vulnerable to identity theft! And if you're worried I'M someone even remotely along those lines, would I: 1. Take the time to type out long monologues to you when I could simply move on to a different person a little more dim-witted and loose-lipped? 2. Even bother contacting you in the first place when I have the internet at my disposal? or 3. OF ALL PLACES I COULD CHOOSE TO HACK ON THE INTERNET, why, in the name of sweet Aunt Jemima would I choose a website for animal and anthropomorphic art, story, and roleplaying of general and explicit nature? I mean, do you see someone say, "Hi, I'm going to steal your wallet and phone, think we can be friends?" on the street? NO! I'm trying to frigging get a conversation started with you people! The LEAST you people could tell me is, "Sorry, I'm not really interested in getting to know you even remotely, so please cease all attempts at doing so." <-- IS THAT REALLY ALL THAT HARD TO TYPE?!? I'm even typing it out FOR you so all YOU have to do is copy and paste it into a message to me and hit the send button! FOR CRYING OUT LOUD PEOPLE!!! LEARN TO COMMUNICATE WITH OTHERS!!! It's actually important as it will be a necessary skill for you to develop when you go out in the real world and have to get things that you don't have!

Posted 13 years agoOkay, so a while back I published a thing that said I found out being furry was genetic because I grew up separate from my brother who I also found out was furry. Now here's the question I've been pondering. Should I get in touch with him or not? I mean, it would be nice and all to know who he is and what he's like, but I don't want the relationship to be, "Oh, hey, you're a furry? Me too!" kind of thing. Plus, he's got another brother that lives with him that is NON-furry and I would also need to connect to in some way.
Comments? Concerns? Suggestions? Statements? Exclamations? Kitty porn? Reminders? Appointments? Conventions to attend? Animations to be voice acted (I'm not like the other mooks out there. Believe me. I just can't animate to save my life. Hello Tempkitty.)? Musicals you would suggest? Movies to attend? Repertoire to sing? Particularly for baritone? Preferably German? From either Classical or Baroque eras? Gay kitty porn? (That last one is extremely welcome. Can't seem to get it off my mind... mmmm...) ANYONE?!?

Why I don't favorite anything:

2. I'm a critic. I can't help it. I always think there's room for improvement. It sucks I can't just say, "This is awesome!" and leave it at that. Sometimes I'd just like to ENJOY something, you know?

Scary thing happened today...
Posted 14 years agoMy grandma just went to the hospital today. We went over to her house today to bring her some dinner (I had been lucky enough to come home this weekend from college), but she didn't answer the door when we knocked for her. We finally went in, thinking she was asleep or something, and we found her lying on the ground in a pool of her own vomit. I immediately called 911 while my mom checked to see if she was okay. She was conscious, but she couldn't talk, or rather she couldn't make syllables. I haven't heard any news about her yet, but I'm assuming she's in a stable condition right now and she's going to be okay. It's scary. My grandma is 96 years old, and she's been healthy all of her life. The people sick around me are starting to get unbearable.
I just lost a good friend of mine to a car accident a while back, my grandpa's sick with Alzheimers, my other grandma is trying to take care of both him and my grandma that was sent to the hospital, my mother's yelling at me about all of this on an hourly basis, and to top it all off, I'm sick as a dog.

Working without a budget
Posted 14 years agoWell, I haven't done this in a while (or posted for that matter), so I might as well let everyone know I'm still alive. HI EVERYONE!!! The next F.U.R.R.Y. chapter should be out sometime tomorrow.
What to talk about... well, since I've been here, I've been working very carefully around spending any money on the site, mainly because of personal reasons I will NOT go into at the moment. Let's just say I like to keep my personal life and my furry life separate at all costs. Thankfully after a little bit of searching I managed to find someone willing to do a commission for me (I still hope that's on, anyways) for free. So I will have a decently drawn picture of my character. Yay for free stuff!!! And I'd like to say THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR DOING SO!!!
Wow, my journals aren't usually that short. Well, I might as well take this space to advertise myself.
1. If you like my story, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT'S PURE AND SACRED please tell people about it! I'm still VERY unknown and every subscriber that I get will make it that much easier to get my name and my story out there. And that way more people can enjoy it. To spice things up here, I'm even willing to do a little quid-pro-quo here.
2. If you have an idea of where you'd like the story to go, please feel free to leave a comment or PM me. Preferably PM, I like to keep my notes organized. It can be ANYTHING AT ALL, so long as it doesn't involve a long, drawn-out sex scene or anything extremely kinky. I still don't feel comfortable writing anything mature unless absolutely necessary. My story is mainly open to anyone's input, and it's mostly going to be driven by requests. And (for the time being) you can even request to have your character inserted into the story! The one catch: you're going to start out in human form and be transformed if you want a furry, and it's going to take a little time to weave you into the story. And I'll need a bio.

Posted 14 years agoToday at 4:00 I graduated from high school! WOOOOOOOOO!!! FINALLY!!! Never again will I have to be bound by government law to sit at a desk daily and work pointless problems I will never again use in my life! This is one of the happiest days in my life.

Posted 14 years agoLet's face it, there's really one reason everyone's on this website: the porn. Now, maybe for some of you that's not true, maybe you're on here for a completely different reason. But for 99 people out of 100 reading this, it's going to be for the porn. Isn't it sad that you spend hours on a truly remarkable work of art or a story and get 2 views on it, but slap a mature content filter (or even better an adult content filter) on it and suddenly they come swarming in like flies. I mean... really? Are we all THAT desperate for porn? (Watch them all say yes in the comments below.) But just THINK about it for one second. Why is it we don't really give the regular content its due credit? There can be fantastic works of art out there that nobody pays attention to simply because it's clean. You're missing out on HALF the submissions uploaded to furaffinity daily! Just take a moment one day and turn on the mature content filter and see what you can find simply by looking at general content submissions. You'll be surprised by how much better the artwork and stories get, and you'll even notice some music and photography has been uploaded to this site! Take a day for yourself and look around is all I'm saying.
Haiku written while dreaming!
Posted 14 years agoSo last night I was dreaming I was supposed to write a haiku for some assignment, and somehow I still remember the haiku I wrote, so I'm posting it here. I even managed to come up with a title while I was dreaming!
Summer:

Posted 14 years agoYou know, I'm starting to see a pattern. The more I've talked with people, the more I've seen the same thing. Boys, who consider themselves completely straight, as they rate themselves on the Kinsey scale (a self-assessing scale that tells how hetero- or homosexual you are, or lack thereof) find themselves mildly attracted to single male or gay furry art, particularly artwork that depicts effeminate males (femboys, traps, and the like). I know that this has been the case for myself (which is why I have defined myself as bi), but the sheer number of people that this occurs to is staggering. So there must be a parallel here between straight males and male furry art. Quite possibly it could be to the fact that furries, since they are not depicted as a human by their very definition, take on a more asexual characteristic within the male mind, and therefore make it slightly more attractive (and here come the flames). Or, perhaps animals in general take on a more feminine role within the human brain, and therefore make the depiction slightly more enjoyable to males. This could also explain the lack of female furries within the fandom (think about it, count the number of furry girls you know, then count the number of guys). At this point I don't have enough evidence to make a reasonable conclusion, nor do I have an adequate way to test this theory. Perhaps getting together a number of open-mined straight males and setting two factors: a control where pictures of regular men are shown and the dependent variable where they are shown pictures of furry men. Then they are ranked on a scale of 1 to 10 to find the level of attractiveness they find the picture. One would expect the furry picture variable to show a higher mean score.
Any insight on this issue is welcome.

Being furry is hereditary!
Posted 14 years agoI found this out a long time ago, and according to my findings there is a gene that a person can receive that gives a predisposition to becoming a furry. Now, nobody in my "family" is furry to say the least; I had no connection or inkling of what it was whatsoever until I discovered it for myself. And that was all fine and good, until I discovered something shocking. Apparently, one of my brothers (we have no connection whatsoever other than the fact we had the same biological mother) became a furry on his own as well! No, I don't know his screen name, and no, I'm not releasing what his name is either. And yes, I was in fact adopted if you were smart enough to gather that from above, and no, I don't feel any shame or difference about it, if not glad. But back to my point, both of us grew up completely separate of each other and we both became furries. But of course that may just be a coincidence, you say? I'm afraid not, because I have a control factor here as well. It turns out that two of my brothers lived together, but only one of them became a furry. And since we all share a common point of origin, it shows that there are two different outcomes for all intensive purposes the same person, having a predisposition to being a furry and not having it. And this specific characteristic can be linked back to how our brain is wired, and therefore it can be classified as (drumroll please) a genome! Proving that becoming a furry IS, in fact, based on the DNA you got from your parents.

Mature Content Filter
Posted 14 years agoSo, I found the Mature Content filter in the Account Settings area of my page, and OH MY GOD I've entered into something far bigger than I could have possibly imagined.
Too... many... naked... furs...
Half the site's flooded with mature content! What does that say about me and what does that say about the site? No seriously, I'm lost, but I'm sure it says something.
And now I'm feeling very self-conscious... and small... and not well built... do I just jump right into this kind of thing or do I take things slowly? Oh man I sound like I did when I first started dating!
But in any case it's definitely a new REALM to explore... very cautiously...

Character development
Posted 14 years agoWell, I've just joined, and I'm still trying to set up my character. All I know is that I want it to be a lion? If anyone has any ideas I would be really happy to hear them.

Posted 14 years agoWell, I finally mustered up the courage to wander in to this crazy world we call Fur Affinity.
Oh God, what am I doing here?
In any case, I'm hoping that I can meet at least a few friends on here in the next few days. A few things you should know about me:
1. I'm still new to the whole "Fur Universe" and am probably going to make mistakes. So bear with me.
2. Seeing as I'm new here and I have yet to... fall victim to the "natural urges" of the universe, I'm going to hold off on the mature content until I've settled in.
3. I don't swear. No seriously, I don't. I made a promise to myself that I wouldn't swear when I was five and 4. I've kept to it. I just find it a repulsive thing to do. Don't like it? Don't care.
5. I am HAPPY to be friends with you, just so long as you're not a 57-year old pedophile that lives in your mother's basement or anything remotely similar.
6. I LOVE to write. If you have an idea for a story I am happy to listen. Just leave a comment below. If people begin to flock in droves I will eventually set up a commission station. As of right now... I've never written a furry story, so at this point I'm open to just about anything THAT ISN'T MATURE CONTENT. Can't stress that enough.
7. Because I love to write, I can also be a bit of a grammar freak. When I see "lol u guys this is sooooooo totally awesome i cant believe there doing that" it makes me want to burst through the person's door and rewrite the sentence. However, I understand that people don't want to use perfect punctuation and I'm fine with that. Just try to avoid making too many mistakes.
8. I can sometimes come off as a bit distant and/or arrogant. I don't intend to sound that way, but it's a bit of my personality. I try to keep myself from falling into unnecessary traps. I'm sorry if I sound snooty in any way.
9. Flame me, and you will get burned. I absolutely despise trolls. If you're going to flame me, leave now.
I'm one of the few people that actually enjoys classical music. And have studied it. Extensively. If you have any questions regarding the topic, I'm happy to answer. And no, I can't write music, never had the talent for it. I can sing it, though.
10. I am bisexual. And proud of it. Yes, I've been aroused by both genders, and yes, I have dated women. I have yet to date a guy, though.
And... I think that's just about it. If I didn't cover anything I'll probably post it. Hopefully this place will be (reasonably) enjoyable. And feel free to leave a comment, I'm looking to make friends.
