Frustrating.
General | Posted 14 years agoI've been thinking lately that I'd like to write more. I have a lot of ideas and opinions (LOTS of opinions, lol), but the problem is that they never seem to amount to much that's interesting. Nothing I can build a story from. I could write loads of opinion articles, but who would be interested in that on FA?
I'm not going to kid myself, I know that people don't come to FA for fine literature. They come here for something to fap to--if they read anything at all. The problem is that I've tried and I just am not interested in posting sexy pieces. Sex is very boring for me to write, which is why I almost never do yiffy RPs.
This puts me in a conundrum. I can continue to post my mediocre (at best) poetry, submit my little opinion articles, and deal with NOBODY reading them (except maybe a few people who know me from F2F). Or I can write stuff I'm not passionate about in an attempt to get myself noticed as an author on F2F. Life sucks, doesn't it?
I do have an idea for a short story or novella that I may one day try to write and try to publish, but unfortunately I'm not in a place where I can write it right now. It concerns a child whose dad has cancer, and she discovers she has magical powers. The story's theme would pretty much be about how helpless we feel when watching a loved one dying/in pain when you can't do anything about it, and how wonderful it'd be if you COULD stop it. But, this story is way too close to home for me right now and I couldn't do the story justice because of that. Not yet. Also, it would not be a furry story, so I'm not even sure if it'd be welcome here at all.
...Ironically, writing this has just given me an idea for a furry short story, though somewhat dark in nature. I think I'll get working on it. Why does inspiration come past midnight for me?

Writing Commissions?
General | Posted 15 years agoI was wondering if there's any interest in this. I've contemplated this in the past, as I enjoy writing far more than drawing. I know my name isn't out there for like... anything, but I'd be willing to work at it for some extra cash because some unexpected expenses may be coming my way -_-
Anyway, please comment if you'd be interested in taking a writing commission from me. Adult or tame, with a limit on some fetishes that I don't feel comfortable writing. Also, what are reasonable prices for writing commissions? I was thinking of going for a word count based price, with something like $0.02/word for tame and $0.04/word for adult. Is that too much? Too little? Is it best to go by some other measure like page count?

Something That's Been Bothering Me...
General | Posted 15 years agoOkay with is with the explosion of random boners in furry art? I used to see this once in a while, but the past few days have been especially bad. It's like, anytime a male is naked in furry art, he MUST BE HORNY. Is he hunting, naked for some odd reason? BONER. Is he sitting reflectively in a random location, naked? BONER. Is he standing on his head on an elephant while he juggles chainsaws with his feet? BOTH the elephant AND the furry have BONERS.
Let's remember that men don't walk around visibly horny 24/7--wouldn't that require medical attention?--and a flaccid penis can also be a beautiful thing. OH but if he is flaccid, he's hung better than most black porn stars! A boner or giant dick draws all attention to it and can RUIN a piece of art. So resist the urge, fellow furs. Resist the urge.

This name is from by a band that has influenced my life for the past 5 years or so. That band is Nada Surf. Check them out if you're into more mellow, calming music. I find the lyrics to be very inspiring! Let Go is the title of their third album, and I find that particular phrase to be very pertinent to my life right now.
