All About the Shroomurai (open species)
General | Posted 4 months ago●Shroomurai
●The Shroomurai isn't the animal, but the fungal colony controlling the host
●Once the host breathes in the spores, the incubation starts and slowly takes control of the host, peacefully bringing them into the hivemind
●Once fully integrated, the fungal colony starts to grow in the shape of ronin or samurai armor, making a surprisingly hard mushroom cap as the armor pieces form around the host
●The longer a host is infected, the more sophisticated and intricate the shroom armor will become, slowly upgrading to a higher rank over time
●The fungus itself can be a bright blue on top and dark red on the underside, or vise-versa depending on the colony's clan.
●So far, there are only two known clans: the Akinoko clan and the Aomeji clan. Both are sworn enemies to one another
●Older fungi will gain a golden trim around the base of the cap and can sometimes create intricate patterns used to identify the age and rank of the growth, as well as what hive mind they belong to
●After the host reaches a certain age in their life, the colours on the caps start to fade. However, only the current oldest will fade completely to white, with the gold becoming more prominent and intricate -- at this point they become the Mushogun.
●The Mushogun is a powerful figure for all the fungal colonies, taking a neutral stance on the clans. Each clan's leader is loyal to them. The Mushogun has the power to stop any conflict between the clans if they see fit
I need to give a big thanks to my friends for their kind words that helped me finish this one and a big thanks to
hakuten for helping with the names. I'm not the best at naming things

All about the Glimmix Species!
Overview
The Glimmix (plural: Glimmixes) are a species of sentient computer glitches. They are all their own individual glitchy computer programs with their own personalities. When near any form of an electronic screen, they begin to glitch out -- garbled speech, distorted appearance, and inconsistent collision with their environment. Eventually, they'll get pulled into the nearby electronic device, into the digital realm from whence they came.
Appearance
Typical Glimmix features include a lanky body with long limbs, hard light-projection hair and appendages, a grid-like pattern in the eyes, and blocky fingers.
Abilities
All Glimmixes have the ability to teleport...however, their control over the ability is very low. They may likely overshoot their destination and end up clipping into a wall (or another person entirely).
Assimilation
Glimmixes have an unfortunate tendency to accidentally draw in other creatures when they're pulled into screens, initiating a form of glitchy assimilation. This can also happen if they clip into someone by chance. Many Glimmixes are immediately apologetic, should this happen. A creature of any nature who into contact with a particularly glitchy Glimmix will begin experiencing the same sorts of distortion to their appearance and senses until said contact is severed.
Staying assimilated for over an hour will result in the non-Glimmix creature being converted into a Glimmix themselves. The original Glimmix will split from the assimilated body immediately, most likely apologizing profusely.
Stabilization
The easiest way for a Glimmix to stabilize themselves is to be away from technology. When far from any screens, the glitchy nature of their beings becomes massively toned down, making them safe to interact with for any other creature.

Hey everyone
General | Posted 7 months agoAll About My Open Species: The Shadow Slimes!
General | Posted 8 months agoHello everyone! I wanted to open my Shadow Slime species up, so I'm putting some details in here for easy reference.
Shadow Slimes are dark honey-like slime creatures with a few key points:
Core
All shadow slimes have a light bioluminescent core that glows a certain colour. It can be any colour, but due to the dark slime, the highlights on the slime will be a darker version of the colour. In the case of Lexi, her core is pink but it shows up as red on her body.
Imprinting
The way a shadow slime is made is by imprinting on someone else, taking on their looks and form. They can make slight changes, but they cannot imprint off another Shadow Slime or someone who's already been imprinted upon. Before Shadow Slimes imprint, they are a small coreless Slimeball. Their only gaining their core during the imprint.
Abilities
Each slime has two abilities: a shared one and a unique one.
The shared one is the ability to sink into shadows and move in them. While a Shadow Slime is in the shadows, their eyes are visible.
The unique is completely up to you, based on the imprint personality and environment! Get creative!
If there is anything I've missed, I'll make another journal.
