5/7/2013 UPDATE AND REFUNDS
Posted 12 years agoI am... Painfully aware people are very upset with me right now. A few months ago I had to move with almost no notice, and I didn't think to post up a journal to let people know, but once in the new apartment, I didn't have internet, nor a laptop that would just let me travel to a mcdonalds or anything to use their Wifi.
narcotic-sprinkles lent me some money so I would be able to get internet set up for at least this month so I could give people an update on what all's been going on.
FIRST AND FOREMOST, I'm going to be starting to work on refunds for everyone, starting with those that I've already started refunding. I'm not saying this is going to be fast at all, as I'm not even able to make rent on my own, currently, and my family is helping me cover my bills until I can get a second job, however, they are well aware that I owe a lot of people a lot of money.
At this moment, there isn't much of a second option. Why? I no longer have 90% of the materials for the suits. At first I was happy for the move when I'd learned the old apartment had a flea infestation, and I'd thought I'd dodged a bullet by moving, but the new place had the exact same problem. Even without having pets in the apartment, there were already flees all in the carpeting, and I've been trying to get rid of them almost since I'd moved in. Unfortunately they made themselves at home in the fur as well. I tried washing it, and even after, using borax, dish soap, and any other supposed flea killing methods, they're still here.
At present, I've got some of the fur for
aazhie's otter (Bodysuit partially sewn, head, and handpaws),
mimichan's tail and hands,
themanifesto's Shirt and handpaws, and
demisaurus's tail, but any other materials will need to be re-ordered. Honestly, I don't even want to send these out because there's a very high chance they WILL carry fleas.
The only reason I felt confident sending out the partial for Thera again was because it was in my apartment only long enough for me to re-box it and it was out again.
In all honestly, I AM NOT comfortable being on furaffinity any more. It's my own fault, but everything about logging on here makes me horribly nervous and uncomfortable. As such, I'd like to talk to my commissioners about refunds over e-mail, if possible.

I have records of payment via paypal from everyone, however, I don't remember who was was who, fur to real name. If everyone could send me an e-mail with who you are, your paypal name/e-mail, and how much I owe you, I will talk to everyone via e-mail.

Hey guys (Follow up to Important Update)
Posted 12 years agoI currently have 8 notes that I haven't read yet, and since i have work in 1 hours, I probably won't look at them until after I get back later today.
I'm very sorry that I've been offline for over a week, as I'd originally intended just to take 3 or 4 days to get my shit together.
For what it's worth, I have been feeling a bit better. Having a job has been helping me clear my head and retake stock of the entire situation, and taking a look at everything i have to do, I'll probably only have 3 or 4 hours after work every day to work on suits, and the days that I'm off, which is usually 2 days a week (from what the scheduling looks like), sometimes 3.
Right now, I will NOT be forcing any refunds unless people want them them selves, as I will still be trying to work on suits, and would like to contact me about that, but you'll also need to understand that my current.. well, everything... still doesn't have THAT much extra money, so it will be slow, and I already have a few refunds I'm working on completing.
That said, I MAY end up approaching some with the offer of a refund if I A: Haven't started at all on your suits, or B: Actually have the money on hand to pay it back in full. But there are a lot of things I still need to go over with my records.
Right now, if I'm remembering everything correctly, There are a few projects that haven't been paid for at all, but have been sitting on my que that I will need to permanently(?) put on hold for now until the end of the paid suits. I will also be needing to put trades on hold until further notice, which people can contact me reguarding the status of what we're doing with that.
That all said, I'll be trying to put up pictures of progress on
's white otter and
's Sushicat full suits in the next day or two, and ship off a few things on my next day off.
Also, thank you to those of you that didn't try to contact Narco about me, and those that respected my request for a bit of time to calm down and think things over. I was in a really bad place durring my last journal, and looking back, I do think I over reacted quite a bit to just about everything. I'm feeling better now, and a bit more confident in my own abilites again, so, again, thank you all for being understanding.

Important update on stuff. (Lots of stuff, actually.)
Posted 12 years agoAs a first off, please don't contact
narcotic-sprinkles to get in contact with me anymore. We are no longer together, though we do still live together because we don't have much of a choice at the moment.
I don't quite know right now if we will still be on friend terms or not, but we.. or I... or.. I don't know... but it's not really something I want to talk about much right now. It was not the best of separations, and I would like to leave it at that for now.
That said, I haven't gotten much done the last few days, and might not for the next few as well. I appologize for not being online or as attentive as I'd like to be to this account.
I would also like to officially make the announcement that after all suits on this account are handled, I will not be opening for more commissions for fursuits as a regular thing.
1. I Have not been able to pul my weight with bills lately, and have been actively searching for a regular part time/full time job over the last 2 months, which I have recently been able to get, so I will not have the days on end of 'free time' to devote to working on suits.
2. I've bitten off more than I can chew, and I realize that. Every time I try to set new deadlines for myself, I keep missing them, which is insanely discouraging, even if most of my commissioners are 'ok' with it. It's not fair to you all to have to wait this long, and I'm sorry.
3. A lot of events between the holidays and this past week have sort of made me realize I don't have as much fun making suits as I initially did. I'm not sure if this is because of a few issues with commissioners that have left a bad taste in my mouth, the fact I'm starting to get bored with it, or just as a sort of 'false symptom' from bullshit my family has been giving me for being in a F/F relationship, guilt trips I've been given since I've moved out and 'left the family', or issues related to the fact that I am now single again, or issues because I haven't been able to contribute my share to paying bills.
4. I don't feel like I can handle being a fursuit maker long term. I'm not cut out for it. While I may be able to put a pretty costume together that will hold up, I don't think I can make it for the long haul of doing this for years.
That all said, I will be contacting people about commissions and what we will be doing about them. SOME SUITS I WILL BE REFUNDING, SOME SUITS I WILL BE FINISHING, and some I don't know yet.
PLEASE WAIT FOR ME TO CONTACT YOU
PLEASE WAIT FOR ME TO CONTACT YOU
PLEASE WAIT FOR ME TO CONTACT YOU
PLEASE WAIT FOR ME TO CONTACT YOU
Pleas please PLEASE do not swamp me with notes upon notes. I need to take some time to gather information for each commission, evaluate how far I am on it, how likely I think I am to finish it, and how long it would take, possibly, for me to do refunds if I genuinely don't think I will be able to finish it.
IF your suit ends up being one recieving refunds, please understand that I need about $300 a month from my paychecks to go towards rent and bills so I have somewhere to live while working to make the money to give you your refund. Every penny I make will not be going towards refunds, but every penny over personal necessities for living will. I do not know what I will be making every month from work, since it is a new job, and I do not know if I will get the typical minimum 20 hours part time is supposed to make. Refunds will also be done on a 'I will completely refund person 1, then completely refund person 2,' so if you are farther along on the list and I have not gotten to you yet, this is probably the case.
Again,
PLEASE WAIT FOR ME TO CONTACT YOU
I will not be online again for a few days aside from checking on sending out Sprinkles and Thera to their respective people. There are a few people I need to send payments for refunds to as is, and will address those in time, but please, please, let me start this process at my own pace.
Once more, I WILL BE FINISHING SOME OF THE PROJECTS! Honestly, the suits that will most likely be refunded are the 'cheaper' suits, most likely some from the contests, and those that are generally cheaper, though there are still some that I will be finishing because they are farther along.
After I go through the lists I will be putting up another journal and asking THEN for people that I may have missed and not yet contacted to contact me, but until then, this is where I stand.
Note: There is a possibility that after a few days and I have more time to think hard on this that I will get a second wind, feel more confident, whatever and completely negate this journal, but right now, honestly, I feel like utter shit and want nothing to do with the world at all, but I feel people deserve to know what's going on. It's not really an excuse, but honestly, emotional states do affect working a lot, and somewhere under a rock feels like the best vacation spot for me right now.

Welp. I'm stuck in a hotel for the night.
Posted 12 years agoThank you hotel maintenance.
Well, thank you 'lol, we're not really on the lease, sooooo we don't exhist' situation. But yeah, long story short, maintenance for the apartments we're at got to bust out the kitchen and bathroom walls thanks to broken pipes and water damage, and me and narco, who aren't officially on the lease just yet, can't be seen... So, We're camped out at the Howard Johnson down the street for the night - _ -;
I brought a couple tote's of fursuiting supplies with us though, so I'm still trucking on, but... yeah. Hotel adventures!
ohgod everything is covered in fur....
they're going to think we have a dog.....

TOS update! (longass journal)
Posted 13 years agoWOO, been workin on this for a bit. I think it's a lot more thought out and stuff from my old one. This will apply mostly to new commissions. Only a couple little things on it will be retro-active, so no worries!
ALLERGIES AND PET WARNING
If you are allergic to ______, please let me know in advance. This household has dogs, cats, fish, mice, spiders, snakes, and probably more on the way with time.
No animals are allowed in the workshop, however, hairs/dander can be carried on clothes.
QUOTES, ORDERING, AND PAYMENT
Quotes are valid three (3) months from the time it is given. I may not always have time to go through quotes, so please be aware of when they are open. Quotes send when quotes are closed will be ignored.
If the deposit (usually 30%) is not payed in full before the three months are up, the design will need to be re-quoted.
YOU WILL NOT BE PLACED IN THE COMMISSION QUEUE UNTIL THE DEPOSIT IS IN.
As soon as the deposit is in, and your commission is confirmed, I will order the materials for your suit. The deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE. Please be CERTAIN when you are placing an order for a commission, as it is a large sum of money, and an important decision.
Final payment will be 25% of the total, Plus any surcharges, to be paid upon completion of the project.
The remaining 45% will be paid in monthly increments by a designated date each month during suit construction.
Please, when you notify me you are about to send a payment, make sure it has been sent within 24 hours.
A missed payment (over one week overdue) will result in your suit getting bumped to the end of the queue and the deadline reset.
I accept Paypal and money order. PLEASE NO PERSONAL CHEQUES!
CONCEPT ART
Depending on the type of commission, Artistic Freedom or Personal Character, I will accept photo references of real animals, written descriptions, or a character reference sheet that shows all aspects of the costume. (Full body for a full suit, Head/Hands/Tail and Feet for a partial, etc.).
Artistic Freedom accepted reference
-Photographs of actual animals
-Simple written description
-Expression References (this is the only exception to the 'other suits/not your art' rule)
Note, For personal characters, I will try to follow the reference given to me as EXACTLY as possible, so make sure the reference given is exactly what you want.
Personal Character accepted reference
-Photographs of actual animals
-DETAILED written description
-DETAILED character reference sheet with important markings marked
-Expression References (this is the only exception to the 'other suits/not your art' rule)
Unacceptable reference material
-Messy/Scribbled pictures
-Uncolored lineart
-missing reference (Headshot and shoulders only for a partial)
-another person's character(gift commissions: Recipient must be informed BEFORE the commission will be accepted, sorry)
-another existing fursuit
If I deem any reference unsuitable for use, a surcharge of $50 will be added to the total cost of the commission, and a new reference will be provided by me, based on the reference given. The commissioner will be able to have any changes made to the reference prior to beginning work on the suit.
In addition to the concept art I will require a front and back photographs of the commissioner for final concept art (included with the initial commission) that will be used to make my 'working reference art'. In short, an overlay will be made of the suit design over the photograph, which will give the best possible idea of the final visual outcome of the suit. The colors of the Working Reference Sheet will reflect the physical color of the fur, NOT the exact colors of the original references, since it is impossible to 100% match the colors.
MEASUREMENTS AND REQUIREMENTS
Heads- A front view and profile (side) view photograph of your head with the following measurements marked.
Head Circumference in Inches
Distance between pupils
Distance from chin to between eyes(over the nose)
Partials- The above PLUS a mailed tracing of your hand, fingers splayed. If no hand trace is provided, a default LARGE size will be uses to create the hand paws. The following measurements will also be needed:
Wrist Circumference
Wrist to underarm (for sleeves)
Wrist to top of shoulder (for sleeves)
Shoe Size (US, Male of Female) OR a NEW pair of shoes (Pre-tied if not slip-ons)
Distance from belt loop to the ground (for longer tails)
Fullsuits - In addition to the head and hand measurements, I also require a FULL BODY duct tape dummy. It's advised to start with the main body and work your way towards your limbs. Killkodo Costumes has a wonderful How-To on making a Duct Tape Dummy, here: http://www.kilcodocostumes.com/dtd.htm
Please note that I require all Duct Tape Dummies to have the seams taped up before shipping them to me. Any Duct Tape Dummies received that have not been fully re-taped will receive a $25 surcharge to the final bill.
Also, for Plantigrade(no padding) body suits, the DTD will most likely not survive the patterning process, and will not be able to be returned in tact. I may be able to salvage the base DTD for Digigrade bodysuits, however, since multiple patterns need to be made based off the original form, and might be able to be returned at the end of the project.
ARTIST STYLE AND WIP/UPDATES
While I will try to match concept art as closely as physically possible within the constraints of putting a furry character onto a human body, you are commissioning me for a reason. You like what I've done with other peoples characters and think I will do just as good with your own.
That said, I WILL CHOOSE THE FURS TO USE FOR YOUR SUIT. Unless you have a fur already specifically chosen, I will pick the furs I feel best match your reference. I refuse to work with cheap materials, so I will need a swatch of any 'pre-chosen' furs before they will even be considered.
Updates will be provided at certain stages of costume creation, unless I feel I need/want to post more bits of it in-between. The basic stages of suit progress are:
Head: Foamed
Head: Furred(fluffy)
Head: Furred(shaved)
Head: Finished
Body/Hands: Fur (just the fur for color examples)
Body/Hands: Padding(if padded)
Body/Hands: Finished
Tail: Finished
Feet: Foamed
Feet: Finished
Aside from these stages, fursuits in the building process tend to look like piles of materials slapped together with no real direction, and don't really show much of anything, so I don't feel there's much point in showing them. Unsewn fabric just looks like pieces of scrap, and a half foamed head tends to look like some kind of monstrosity.
That said, please do not pester or hound me about progress and updates. I post pictures as soon as I have a stage finished, and if nothing has been posted, it means I haven't yet worked on your suit. I have a visual calendar posted to show when certain suits are set to be worked on, so please refer to that before messaging me about your commission, since answering note after note after note does take time away from me actually being able to work on things.
DEADLINES
While I prefer to organize deadlines myself, or have a semi-floating deadline for most projects so I can give them the time they deserve, if you have a specific event or deadline you would like, it can be discussed in advance, and while I WILL NOT guarantee 100% a deadline, I will try to meet any I am given.
Unreasonable/Impossible deadlines will not be accepted. I require at BARE MINIMUM one month on small projects, and larger projects, at least 3 months notice.
Rush projects can be arranged, but will incur an additional fee, at my digression, on a case by case bases, and can not be guaranteed, but again, I will try to come as close to them as possible.
SHIPPING
Shipping is not included in the original quote. Shipping and Handling is extra (usually $50-$200 within North America for full suits) and figured out once the commission is complete. Inability to pay this S&H within two (2) months will result in your commission being canceled and your project sold at auction.
I ship using Fed Ex. All fursuits come with tracking. The buyer is responsible for all duty fees, customs, brokerage, and taxes over and above the cost of shipping. This is usually low or negligible within North America but it is up to the officials’ discretion. I have no control over extra fees.
I also will NOT deliver suits (by flying them in) at conventions unless expressly offered before hand. I WILL ship to a convention hotel but the post office is not an exact science so I highly suggest shipping it a week or two early to a friend’s house so you can pick it up before the con.
Shipping within N.America can expect to take 1-3 weeks. Overseas shipping can be 1-6 weeks.
WARRANTY AND REPAIRS
Warranty on a suit lasts 3 events (read: Not conventions) or 6 months, whichever comes first. If pieces of the suit do not fit, or arrive damaged, repairs will be made free of charge at cost of shipping the pieces back to me, if shipped within 2 weeks (14 days) of the item arriving. I will cover return shipping.
If the suit incurs any damages from NORMAL wear, the suit can be shipped back to me for repairs free of charge, commissioner paying shipping both ways.
To show that you have read the terms of service in full, please add Bananga Hanga at the top of your quote form. Also, please be sure to read the last portion of the terms of service, since it is very important. Thank you!
For airbrushed work, an annual touch-up can be arranged once a year to renew markings and detail work, free of charge, at cost of shipping both ways. Additional touch up will incur a charge of $25 to $100 depending on the level of airbrushing involved.
I refuse to do repairs/touch-ups on any pieces that have been worn (aside from test fitting) unless they are thoroughly washed and disinfected first. I will not fix any suits that have been abused, stained, modified, neglected, or used in any inappropriate way. Normal wear and tear is expected, but anything that I feel is obviously out of place will result in the suit being shipped back as is, and all warranty voided.
CANCELLING COMMISSIONS AND REFUNDS
I reserve the right to cancel any commission at any stage of the process, if the commissioner is rude, threatening, or otherwise unreasonable.
Once the order has been made and I have begun work (which includes having already ordered the fur) then no changes may be made to the commission.
If you wish to cancel your commission (for any reason), I will refund the balance (minus any applicable fees) and the deposit will not be returned.
I also reserve the right to not accept certain orders and commissions – these include copyrighted characters, ‘yiffy’ suits or items, ‘blacklisted’ commissioners, poor reference art, and such.
If the commission is complete and you decide something is not quite correct, let me know and I will tell you if it can or cannot be changed. If it can be changed and is my fault (for not following the reference/directions) there will be no charge, but if it is something that was not in the reference and/or is my own interpretation of the reference (The expression is not ‘happy’ enough even though you did not tell me you wanted a specific expression or the fur is the wrong shade even though it matches the references) then a fee will be charged for the adjustment to cover time/materials.
If we cannot come to an agreement, then you will be applicable for either a refund (minus deposit) or a remade head/paws/etc depending on what I think best fits the situation.
If the commissioner, at any time, decides to cancel the commission WITH A VALID REASON, a refund of the balance will be issued, minus time (if construction has already been started) and material costs (the deposit).
Buyers remorse is NOT a valid reason. You should be triply sure that you can afford a several hundred dollar costume before sending any kind of deposit.
IF UPON CANCELLATION OF A FURSUIT COMMISSION YOU DESIRE THE FULL PAYMENT AS REFUND, you will forfeit the commissioned design and all rights to said character to me in return for the deposit amount. The suit will then be finished and auctioned off before any refund payments are begun, and will be provided in payments over the course of one year.
loooong day
Posted 13 years agoGot up at 8
got SushiCat halfway furred
Drove to the beach to take fursuit pictures... but forgot the suit at home. @_@
Stuffed Aazhie's DTD, so there's a third body in the workshop now (don't ask about the second >_>)
Made a 'jumper' undersuit for body padding for the otter.
Managed to build a portal in minecraft without a diamond pick-ax. (yay break time :D)
And now, Sleep.
got SushiCat halfway furred
Drove to the beach to take fursuit pictures... but forgot the suit at home. @_@
Stuffed Aazhie's DTD, so there's a third body in the workshop now (don't ask about the second >_>)
Made a 'jumper' undersuit for body padding for the otter.

And now, Sleep.
Gonna be taking a few days off from suit work...
Posted 13 years agoin a day or two. Got VERY last touches to do on 2 suits (Digibears and Theras), Digi's to be finished tomorrow around noonish, if I sleep, sooner if I dont, and thera's later on in the afternoon(Sleep will happen before then.) But yeah, been going near non-stop for the last week almost, and it's been starting to take it's toll. I probably haven't been sleeping as much as I probably should, skipped a few meals, blahblahblah, ya know how it is when you're in crunch time, and I can usually pull off crunch time awesome, but...
eh, details aside, this is just a heads up that I need a few days of just lying facedown in bed to not exhist once these two are done and ready to go. I'll probably not be online over the weekend, but I'll be jumping back to work on monday/tuesday something... then thanksgiving between 2 families and an appartment *everything's 3 hours away from each other @ _@* and Narco's planning to hit up Black Friday with her mom.
Kill me.
THEN back to work for real.

I'm going to punch my sewing machine >:I
Posted 13 years agoit will not keep the thread in the needle.
I've rethreaded it like... a metric friggin ton of times. All I've got left on
digibear's body section is attaching one arm and stitching in the zipper.
Latex nose is attached, fur's shaved, hands are sewn. Need to do the inner mouth bits, glue the fur down make the feet, and give it a neck, and it'll be done~
But for now, I need a break before I break my machine :I

Moving Jaw issues and updates
Posted 13 years agoVERY IMPORTANT JOURNAL HERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/3974504/
PLEASE READ THIS IF YOU ARE ONE OF MY COMMISSIONERS AND HAVEN'T YET! (same journal from last week)
Minor update...sorta, on some stuff fursuit construction wise.
I may not be offering moving jaws as an option in the future, and moving jaws as is may not be guaranteed. The method I've been using hasn't really been yeilding 100% results on every time (some they move amazing, others I can barely get a wiggle) so untill I can completely re-work my method, if you're getting a moving jaw'd suit from me, it MIGHT be hit or miss. They're more hits than misses, but just as a heads up that for now, MOST future suits will probably have a static jaw untill I have the spare time to experiment hardcore.
That said, RESIN based heads aren't so much a problem for moving jaws. If nothing else, I may figure out a way to make a universal resin jaw blank that I can do foamwork over for a more consistent moving jaw.
Idk. My brain's been rather broken lately ~ n~
Anywho, back to pumping out suit stuff. Possible photo updates later today!
You know who you are! XD
ALSO, I'm going to be re-vamping my TOS in the next few days to reflect a bunch of new things/problems that i've run into since setting it up the first time, and after talking with different people about it *advice on things to change to save both my butt and the commissioners butt in the long run!*
I'll keep a copy of the current one available, but I'll also be posting a journal with the new one and I would appreciate it if my current commissioners could look it over, since a lot of this may be retro-active. Since it's not the TOS most of you agreed too, I will need to know ahead of time which of the new things you won't want to agree too *basicly, this will be a TOS agreement update to switch over to the new one* and once everyone is onboard(or we at least get something figured out) I'll be officially changing the TOS on the website, which, as of right now(actually, a few weeks ago probably since I don't think I ever posted the original revamp I was going to do, because I didn't have the time) is outdated, I'll be takign the old one down for good and replacing it with the new one.

ATTENTION COMMISSIONERS! IMPORTANT JOURNAL! PLEASE READ!
Posted 13 years agoI'm not going to lie, this isn't the easiest journal to write, but at the same time, I don't want to keep jerking people along while I'm trying to get my life back under control.
::A quick TL;DR about this journal - I'm going to be offering REFUNDS(paid over a period of time because I need to make back a lot of the money spent of materials and moving costs and living expenses over time) For suits that I'm already late on, OR, change the deadline to a floating deadline, where it WILL get finished no matter what, but I need the time to space the suits out more now that I can actually work on things on a regular basis, but I'm not nearly as fast at this as I thought I was, especially when working on another persons character.
::The long version.
As some of you might have been following, the living conditions at my grandmothers house were less that perfect for suit work.
At the beginning, I got the family blessing of 'OH YAY! YOU'RE DOING SOMETHING PRODUCTIVE!' but as the work actually began and they realized just how messy suitwork can be, the attitude quickly changed, but instead of saying anything right away, frustrations with my 'public workspace' of the living room, it turned into lots of little glares and disapproving looks but everything was always 'perfectly fine :D' whenever I'd ask. I'd keep working, or trying to, and the main questions that would always pop up was 'when was I going to be cleaning up this mess' or 'when will I be done with these projects' like it was just a momentary thing. I tried to explain that it was going to be something of a constant, and the 'happy' attitude was dropped. After that, the attitude between us and them deteriorated into arguments and fights every couple of days, and staying in the community areas of the house was asking for conflict.
A little over a month ago things came to a head and we were asked point blank to find an apartment and move out. About the only lucky break was that my friend was actually looking for roommates, and also does suit work, so it was something of a god send.
We weren't actually able to move out until last weekend, and the moving process pretty much took up the week before with packing, and this past week with unpacking, but the workshop is 90% completely set up aside from filling in things both of us are missing.
Starting this week, I'm going to be trying to dig in and finish the suits that have been started more than just materials ordered, but I realize that 'I dun fucked up' a lot, or that one circumstance after another has royally fucked me with suit work, and I have not been able to even pretend I've been on top of things.
That said, I'd like to be able to finish every project I have, but I don't think most of them will be on time, especially considering how many haven't even been started yet, and how many deadlines have already been missed.
I want to be able to possibly keep up with the deadlines that are still coming up, November and onward, but everything that was an october deadline and earlier, I'd like to offer either a Full refund, to be paid over a period of time. I'm not sure how long it would take because as mentioned before, I do need to gather some funds to replace the material cost that's been used to order things for the suits, moving costs, and other living expenses that have come up over the months. This would be something of a long term payment plan, depending on how many people will want refunds versus option 2, how much the refunds will actually be, and how fast I can gather funds while still being able to pay rent and other bills.
Option 2 would be scrubbing the previous deadlines and I will work on finishing the suits as I go. I won't be taking on any new commissions until I can get these done, and I'd hope to get everything finished before Furry Weekend Atlanta in March, BUT I'm not sure if that would be possible. It's about the same amount of time that has been lost due to family issues, and it's more a floating estimate, but this could change for a shorter amount of time, or longer amount of time depending on how my speed at making these goes. I like to be able to spend a lot of time on suits to make them looks as good as I can, but at the same time, this works against me for finishing suits faster. With each suits I do, I SHOULD be able to work at the same quality but make the next one faster than the last. I do NOT want to cheat quality for speed, and unless someone specifically tells me 'I don't care as long as it's done on time' I would rather miss a deadline and make a sturdy, nice looking suit that make something that falls apart the first time it's worn just to make it on time.
I'm really really sorry things have gotten so out of hand, and I really want to own up to things. I'm not good with words most of the time, and I get really nervous posting anything like this, but I'd rather try to keep things under control during chaos than hiding in a corner and waiting for my mistakes to to away, cause I know they won't unless something like this is done. Sorta, I think? I don't know. I just realize I'm getting backed into a mental corner, and I don't want to make anyone upset, and I realize I've been put into situations that I wasn't able to work on things, but now that we're getting settled in the new apartment, things are turning around, and I'm going to be posting a lot more, a lot more often.
If anyone has any other ideas more than what I've put up, or other options that I don't know of, or something, please, put that out there on here, too, cause I kind of know what I'm doing, but at the same thing, I'm kind of floundering. I don't want to let people down, but I feel like I'm already doing that.
Advice would be amazing, and if people can be patient with me a little bit longer, I promise to get my shit under control again <:3

The sick is finally losing! Also, how do you find a butt?
Posted 13 years agodid some more minor suit work today while hawking over Narc while the body suit for her first commission got put together, but..
When the pieces for it got cut out, the butt... wasn't there.
So...
Got to help make a husky butt XD
@_@ Also, I feel like a derp, cause I totally forgot monday's a mail holiday, so a bunch of stuff that I thought was coming in AND Going out monday... will be tuesday or wednesday.
fml... i've got so much work to do for forever. 9_6

Airbrush is here FINALLY! also I'm sick. + Moving! :O
Posted 13 years agoBut i'm not takin a break from workin on stuff unless people want me to. I know I've still got a stupid amount of stuff to get finished asap, so I can rest when I'm dead XD
In other news, gotta run to the store to get an adaptor piece so the airbrush will actually connect to the air compressor right (the cord and the nozzle pieces don't match up, so it leaks air, but I thought this might happen).
I also ran into the problem of some of the fur for
craftypaws was just barely not enough to fit everything and handpaws on too, so I've got another half yard of it on order right now, which should get here by the weekend.
Starting on a bunch of foam bases later today after doing some smaller work (paws, trim work on faces and paws, adding pawpads, and messing with latex a bit) after we get back from the store.
Well, at least for a bit.
Middle of this month, Probably the 17th to the 23rd...? I'll be off the map of the internet between packing, moving 3 hours away, and unpacking stuff. At least to a managable level. I won't be packing any of the fursuit stuff till the very last minute, but we're finally gonna be getting out of my grandma's house and moving in with
skellybeans! So fursuit work should like... Double in speed, just cause there's gonna be an actual PLACE TO WORK! :D We were down there for all of last week, and I was actually able to get a ton more done in that little bit of time than I'd really been able to get done most of the rest of september.
But yeah. The next two weeks for me are going to be a freaking hurricane of trying to work around this mess of a place and get stuff ready to go out. I want to get at LEAST 5 suits completely finished and mailed out by then, if not more. These will probably be:
Moby
Thera
Donut
Mimi
and Digibear
I've got starts on Ivory and Andromeda, and the suit for Kiuro*can't... remember the characters name right now to save my life @_@* as well as another bunch of fur on the way for the november/december suits that have their downpayments in. which should get here before the move. If not, I'll be making a day trip to drive back up and get them after it all comes in.
But before I do anything today, I'm having a chicken noodle soup breakfast and taking enough dayquil to tranq a horse.

Pictures later today! Still waitin on the airbrush though :/
Posted 13 years agoSo, I'm pissed with the company that shipped the airbrush. They sent me the shipping estimate based on the day I ordered it, but apparently, it didn't actually get shipped out till last friday instead, and they just NOW sent me an e-mail about it. New arrival date will either be today, possibly tomorrow depending on who they sent it by, or monday.
But, we got a couple sets of handpaws done up, I've got the main parts for
themanifesto's shirt together,
demonnyoko's Mold and mother mold *still need to do the first casting, but that will be later, too. Been having rain, and I tend to cast outside cause of the mess.
But yeah, just a little bit of an update for now. Got more fur that should be coming in soon too, and depending on how the day goes, I'll be workin on some more foam bases that NEEED to get done like woah.

Aaaalrighty :3 Time for people to be getting ready with suit design ideas.
I'm officially opening up the Fall Makers Choice (yeah yeah, I know it's still summer, but I'm picking it the first day of fall :D), which will be a super scaled down version of my original Grand Opening contest.
The chance to get a Light Partial fursuit (Head, Hand paws, and a Tail) for $150, plus whatever shipping will be.
There is no color limit, design limitation, species black outs or anything.
HOWEVER, The ONLY reference I will be using is whatever reference you give me for the contest. ONE image. If part of the costume is not shown in the image, I'll be figuring that part out myself.
I'll also be trying to match the STYLE the picture is drawn in as close as I can, so, be sure that the image that you give is the style you'd like the suit to be done in, and that's not just Toony versus Realistic. I'll be attempting the ARTISTS style as well.
All choices on what materials, constuction style, and furs used will also by my choice.
Full payment will need to be made within one week of the winners announcement.
The timeframe for completion of this suit won't be untill 2013, sometime between January and March, so, a 3 month window.
Or in other words, the theme XD
Now, what does this mean? Good question. That's up for you to interpret and try to capture. Take it as literal or abstract as you want to. :3 I'm going to try not to comment on any of the entries, so this will be anybodies game.
What this DOESN'T mean is that if the image you're entering is just a wolf, that it won't have a chance to win. This is a fully open contest for character designs and stuff, but adding the theme might make it a bit more.... interesting.
* ONE(1) entry per person. You can use your entry as a gift for someone else, but that will still count for your one entry.
* When you post your entry, you must ALSO post a JOURNAL or SUBMISSION advertisement for this contest. If you choose to make a submission advertisement, you may use any of the images from THIS GALLERY to make a collage so it's not just a 'Text on a blank background' picture.
* DO NOT DISCOURAGE OTHERS FROM ENTERING. I feel I shouldn't need to post this, but if any time I feel someone is harassing/discouraging other entrants, I will remove your entry from the journal.
* Again, PAYMENT NEEDS TO BE MADE WITHIN ONE WEEK OF THE END OF THE CONTEST. If payment isn't made within that time frame, I will choose a Runner Up.
* JOURNAL ENTRIES ONLY. DO NOT NOTE ME AN ENTRY.
* Please mark Adult References as such. I don't always check my FA when I'm at home, so, sudden dog dick on the screen is a little embarrassing if I'm at, oh, I don't know, a cafe'. :I Just sayin. XD
Bet you've been waiting for this bit right here, huh :D
Fill this out:
Character Name:
Character Species:
Character Gender:
ONE Image Reference:

And post it to the Journal linked above.
Well, I think that's it for now. Please note, rules and such may change slightly as this goes on, but I'll be sure to post up announcements as they happen, but for now, GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

RULES TIME :D
XD
How to Enter!
Bet you've been waiting for this bit right here, huh :D

Well, I think that's it for now. Please note, rules and such may change slightly as this goes on, but I'll be sure to post up announcements as they happen, but for now, GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

Posted 13 years agoHey~
ok. So.... some shit happened over the FA down time that I can sorta finally talk about. But essentially, there was drama in the household, and my use of the livingroom as my fursuit work space was immediately revoked, so, the last week or so has been a bounce back and forth between minor fursuit work and moving all the crap that was out there *Fur, tool, and suits in progress* back into our bedroom. we've got about 10 square feet of floor space in there now with all the boxes/Totes of suiting stuff in there, and working is... cramped. The house here is still kind of super tense, so we're mostly hiding out in the room at all times while both trying to get back into a normal work cycle that works for both of us.
It doesn't look like we're going to be staying with my family much longer, so we'll keep people posted on a possibly very near future move. all the fun with that.
We think we finally got the room figured out right now, so, between all the suits I've still got to work on, I'm going to be sort of walking Narco through two full suits in the next month or so, and all that fun stuff.
also my birthday was yesterday, so I got fuckall done yesterday and now I feel waaay the fuck behind again. Why do families insist you don't do work on your birthday @_@;
in other news, uh....
um...
Fuck. I'll try and get some pictures of stuff taken later tonight on stuff that's gotten done, but a lot of stuff is still in the awkward inbetween stages on shit.
Also, airbrush might be getting here between the 20th and 22nd, if not, then the 24th. I'll finally be able to get some suits out into the mail again once it gets here and I can do final airbrushing :D
aaaaa i'm so sorry guys ; _; everything's just been really freaking nuts lately, and i know most of it's my fault. I... kinda honestly regret taking on more suits at the start than I originally planned, but I'm kinda shit at saying no, but now I wanna make sure I get all of them finished. I'm gonna start only taking 2 projects a month, since it seems to be the number I can work with best. I've had a couple of suits drop out of my que for various reasons, so the next couple months wont be as crammed for me, so... at the very least, I WILL get everyone's suits done by the end of the year. I want to be able to start 2013 with a clean slate, so, that's definitely my goal.
I've got materials for everyone that's already gotten me their first payments, and most of the suits have been started at least in part, so... aaah, idk. I got into a ramble.
EDIT:
also, I'm going to be changing my prices for 2013 tonight. As of right now, all my prices are OUTDATED. I've been taking a lot of what I've been doing on the new suits versus Sprinkles 1.0 and Narco 1.0/Piper and the amount of time/detail i've been putting into these, as well as using more expensive materials has actually left me taking money out of my own pocket on a lot of the Grand Opening suits, and way overshooting the estimated material cost for the other ones than I ever really thought it would.
I'll be making up a new price list for here and my website a bit later. If you haven't gotten a quote in to me by now, the prices will be based on my new prices. There ARE *i think* 2 or 3 quotes that I honestly haven't had time to look at/think about that I've gotten in the last month or two, and I'm so sorry I haven't replied yet, but those will still be quoted on the old prices. IF you have sent me a quote and not gotten a reply in the last 3 months, please shoot me a note or e-mail at LigerSprinkles[at]live.com and I will try to get back to you this week.
Man, I really need to get my shit together ^ ^;;;

New Airbrush is on the way! Still taking 2 tail commissions!
Posted 13 years agoAs well as gonna be putting up a couple of standard premade tails up *a couple white feline and Fox tails, and a couple husky tails* if anyone's got color suggestions. The premades are mostly gonna be made by
narcotic-sprinkles to give her a bit more experiance with the sewing machine, and until I ok her 100% on it, will be a good chunk discounted from my prices.
ALSO Got a toony canine resin mold ready to go. I'll be getting some pulls from that and the second feline base done soon. Sad day though, in casting the saber skull for my personal costume, the mold ripped more than I'm able to repair, so I guess that whole little fiasco's kind of moot now. I'll eventually be doing something similar again in the future, but i'm not sure what, exactly ~_~

So... I'm in the market for a new airbrush i think
Posted 13 years agothe gun part at least.
After much soaking and cleaning out what I could, the airbrush is still being testy as fuck, and I'm scared to use it on any suits :I
I'm gonna be hitting up stores around here soon to see if I can't find a super cheap one that'll work at least as a temporary thing till I can get mine replaced, but if anyone's got an old airbrush they don't use anymore or something, hit me up and we can see what'll work. Might just go for something mega cheap offa amazon just cause it'd be faster right now, but... I kinda.. really need the airbrush to finish some suits ~_~;
fuuuuuck. The month of august has been complete and total dicks :I I'm reeeeally hoping september is better. *least I got a birthday comin up*

lol, I'm pissed at myself, also resin bases
Posted 13 years ago.... So, I've off and on been working on some resin bases the last 3 weeks *puting on coats of silicon doesn't take long, but waiting for it to cure 9 _9*
so, I've got 3~ feline bases. 2 legit for fursuit ones, and one Sabertooth Half Skull, which looks absolutely beastly I think >w> *gonna have such a pimp halloween costume*
BUT YEAH, those two fursuit ones will be available for purchase.
Did the second fursuit feline one for 2 reasons. Needed a more beefy-in-the-face look cause the first one came out really slender, and I wanted a different look for the Sweeny Blake fursuit coming up next month. The bridge of the nose definitely has a bit more of an... outsider-ish feel to it while still being realistic in shape.
buuuuut pictures of those coming soon. I've mostly got pics of the molds themselves, and the base sculpt *need more resin for casting* but yeah
Uncut, raw bases fresh from the molds will be $50, Cut/hinged/padded/assembled bases will be $75
I'm also in game for doing custom made bases if there's something kinda ~out there~ that doesn't exhist yet as a resin base. Custom sculpted bases will start at $100, and will come precut/hinged and padded. pulls after that first one will be the normal $50/$75 pricing :3
NOW, for why i'm pissed at myself.
I clogged the airbrush.
Like a dumbass. :I
So, it's sitting in paint thinner to get the dried gunk out of it.
Cause I'm a dumbass... and forgot to clean it out after the last time I used it.
LIKE A DUMBASS >:I
I feel... so stupid for this. it's like... airbrush 101...*facedesk*

Makers Choice Contest - Winner picked on September 22
Posted 13 years agoAaaalrighty :3 Time for people to be getting ready with suit design ideas.

SuitMaker Problems- Unfinished WIPS vs Finished WIPS
Posted 13 years agoOK. So.... Do you ever have that moment when you've been working on like... 8 projects at once, alternating between A, B, and C or whatever, and you've got a good bit of work done on all of them, but... none of them... look like it?... Like... Partially done foam work, or half sewn faces....
and it's like..
I CAN"T POST THIS D: It looks like bawls..... :C
But... then not posting....
bluh.
idk. I have a problem with posting 'Unfinished' Wips. Like, there's certian stages where it's ok, but any other time it's like OHGOD NO DON'T LOOK AT IT, IT'S HIDEOUS >:C
Is this a thing, or is it just me? o _o?
and it's like..

derp, sorry for lack of pictures-gettin batteries for camera
Posted 13 years agoinstead of shitty phonecam pictures XD
But I cracked out the airbrush the last couple of days and all that's left for Moby is to put the ears on the head, finish whiskers on one side of his muzzle, and finish up the feet. at my current work pace, he might be ready for shipping on tuesday... or wednesday....I'm... Not actually sure how to gauge my pace right now still, though I AM able to do just about everything for suitwork again*cheers* I just gotta be ~gentle~ with my left hand still. Hurts when I whack it, or put too much pressure on it, but it looks like the cut has actually mended up pretty well :3
NEOSPORIN IS A MIRACLE DRUG, AND I PROBABLY BUTCHERED THAT SPELLING, BUT IT'S 5:30AM AND IDGAF RIGHT NOW :D
derp
But yeah, we're making a store run this afternoon to pick up a couple pairs of shoes for upcoming projects and some other stuff. Gotta double check how many feet I'ma be making in the next 3 months XD And it turns out some of the fur ordered for one of the suits upcoming was totally the wrong color(the right one's already been re-ordered and arrived) but it's the perfect color for another of my personal project suit idea thingies, and... I SOOOOO wanna make it.
But...
Commissions D: specially majorly backed up commissions :T
I'm going to be busting my freakin tail this month and next month. I'ma try and keep updating here every couple of days, even if it's just a silly journal to say I'm still alive, but....I've got....7 1/2 kinda-really-detailed suits coming up in the next month and a half.... I know there's specific deadlines for some of them, and I'm gonna try my damndest to make them ALL, but...again, this 2 weeks ish of gimped-working has more than destroyed any of my 'emergency days' for suit catch up, and put me deep in the red, time wise <:C
As a new maker, I really hate to ask this, but if you have a suit that's scheduled to be finished this month or next month, and wouldn't be upset about an extra week or two extention on the completion time (so basically, middle of the following month instead of the end of the completion month) , please let me know <:3 It... Honestly, it would be a huge stress off my mind to know that I'll have a little more time to actually put all the details and care into each suit that they deserve instead of worrying too hard about getting it done exactly on time and having to rush work. Again, if a hard date for when a suit is needed has already been talked about I WILL MAKE THOSE DATES, but for those that were just general 'end of the month' deadlines, a little bit of possible leeway would be so freaking amazing you don't even know.
I will still be trying to get all the suits done as close to the original deadline times as I can, and I'll be enlisting Narco's help with a lot of the simple busy sewing work (since she's kind of becoming my apprentice durring her no-job time. I'm having her make a couple suits with my help, then a couple on her own that'll all be up for auction over the next couple of months) before I unleash her on her own for commissions and stuff, but she's been doing some amazing work already, and been a great help the last couple weeks.
I'm sorry about this whole fiasco with my hand, but, I'm not gonna lie, I follow livejounral and the fursuit reviews, and I don't ever want to end up on there over something stupid like this. Yeah, life happens sometimes and all, but at the same time, I know this is a business, so even stuff like this isn't always acceptable as an excuse to fall behind. I'm probably just gonna take this all as a rocky start and a learning experiance *gonna extend the work time I've got for suits from 3 months to more like...5 or 6 on partials and up, and bump my per month back down to 3 slots for big work.*
but.. now I'm just rambling. cause it's the asscrack of dawn... and I realize I've taken almost a half hour to type this out XD
fuck
ah well.
Fursuit maker problems @ w @;
In other news, the hot glue gun still has it out for me and tried to hate-snog my hand, but I used Evade. It was super effective.
