Well, I'm home! We did better than we thought we would, but not as well as we had hoped :/
But we did learn quite a few things for next year, so we will be ready! The Scrapbook badges went over pretty well! I was worried about the pricing at first, but in order to make anything (because of materials) I had to bump them up a bit :( But everyone seemed cool with it! Hopefully next year we will be a bit more prepared as well, 2012 kinda snuck up on us lol

So  BlakeOwen and I were working on our post-apocalyptic costumes tonight! I will be Tina Turner meets Victorian and he will be a post apocalyptic pimp! So look for us! lol

First off, yes I am back...sorta. The sorta being that since I have gotten my book store job I have been VERY busy. Between work, our newish home, friends, family, Tyler's DKP stuff and my crafty stuff, I barely have time to focus hard core on anything. I take that back, I am now on a hard core diet and exorcise regime and have already lost 17 lbs in the past month! Needless to say I will make an effort to be more of a presence again, but I can't make any promises (not that I think anyone really missed me in the first place lol).

Now onto Furry Fiesta, due to a few bad eggs at FF2010 I am going to reiterate some things that I have said MANY times before.
1.My art isn't first class, hence the LOW price tags.
2.If you choose to dish out the 5 to 10 bucks to buy a badge from me, then you already know what you are getting into (I display demo work right there on our display).
3.If you buy a badge from me and then come onto FA afterwards and complain about the art, then you are just a jerk and I WILL refuse to sell to you.
4.It takes a lot of guts for artists to put there work out there, constructive crit is always nice, but calling a badge a piece of crap, no go buddy.

So good FF news is that I will be making something new in addition to my cupcake, cosplay and fashion badges.

So I am at one of the peaks of my life, I have a wonderful job, with kind people and a really fun boss, I have wonderful friends who are always there for me, I have a kind, loving husband who is fun and talented, and I'm losing weight!

But the downs are there too, Ty and the rift between he and his oldest friend is really tearing my heart up, what's worse is I'm pretty sure that it's my fault somehow. Said friend says I'm a fat shrew, which could be true, but I try to get Ty to call people all the time, I can't MAKE him do anything. I never stop him from doing anything either though. Ty makes all his own choices. If he wants to go somewhere or do something? I encourage it, because he stays here at home and barely does anything outside of comic stuff. I just... I wish there was something that I could do, anything, but he won't listen to me, and in all honesty, I think Ty's family feels the same way said friend does. They all blame not seeing Ty on me. What can I do? We have one car, so if I have something to go to, I usually find a ride outside of Ty, and like I said, if he wants to do something, I encourage it, but he prefers to stay at home in his free time. I can't control him... *sigh* I guess this is part of being married, but I just hate feeling guilty for something I KNOW that I have no control over.

Ugh okay, gloom out of the way, things are getting better every day. Soon Ty and his comics will be bigger and better than ever, and I think that by the time the next FF comes around, you will all be pleasantly surprised!

Okay let me say first that i had a blast this year at furry fiesta 2010. I met some great people and was supported very well by some great artists. That having been said, i am quite well aware that I am not a "talented" artist. I'm an actor and a singer, it's what i go to school for. My husband  tylerdavasel is the artist. I do art because he asks me to do it with him. He compliments my art and wants me to share in his success, so I do it with him. That having been said, if anyone bought a badge from me this weekend and regretted it, I am VERY sorry. In all honesty, I felt that the badges weren't worth the paper they were drawn on. but other artists,(including my husband) told me I should charge for them so each badge, in all honesty was only $2 more than the cost for the materials that were used on them. So if anyone is angry at $5 I'm sorry, if they were really that bad, then next time I'll charge for only the cost of materials. Sorry again if my bad art offended people.

So, during the downtime, Lillie and I got sick... twice (wow, was it THAT long?) I just came out of mine, but right as she comes out of hers, she cuts her foot (last night) and bleeds a helluva lot (huge bloodstain on our carpet; nice) Fortunately, it wasn't a BAD cut, just in a bad place, as it's almost completely healed by now; no stitches or anything needed.

We're still moving kinda slow, though, so, to anyone who needs us for whatever we had going on before the downtime, we'll try to get right back to you asap.

Today though I received great news: I got the week of Furry Fiesta off! This isn't just any con to us where we might get lazy and not go. This is VERY important to us. Having been at the first year of a potentially large con, we feel like we were part of something special.

Had a job interview, I was apparently too smart for the position, Ty bought me chocolate, ice cream, a hot pink antique negligee, and then gave me mind altering sex to cheer me up. All is right with the world ^.^

I think I just might be in a very "no BS!" kind of mood. I'm grouchy and I don't feel like dealing with stupid, or whiny people this week. Everyone's patience has a limit, and I think mine finally reached the toll booth.

For those of you who don't know, two of the more perverted furries went onto the Tyra Banks show and took it upon themselves to represent the culture as a whole.

Okay, I have no say in this because I don't consider myself a major part of the furry community, BUT I DO think that saying things like "Lets kill them" or "They deserve to be shot" are a bit extreme. I am NOT defending these people, in my opinion, they had ZERO right to represent an entire culture without gaining some approval from the community at large on what they would say and how they would represent furries. You are a community, a close knit one at that. All you need to do is black list them, banish them, give them the cold shoulder. Don't let them on any of your online communities, do not allow them into your conventions, do not invite them to your get together. Simply shun them and ignore them, and they will have to live with the fact that they brought their own isolation onto themselves. They had no right to represent the culture at large without letting a group of the community know. It was like two gay guys going on air and sharing with the world what they do in bed. Not what good they do for the community, not how they influence the art community, and nothing about how they are just like everyone else. It's rude, and uncalled for. So keep it civil guys, I know you are mad, but there are more civilized ways of taking care of things.
