So, both surgeries went great! My mother should be out of the hospital on Sunday or Monday. That aspect is finally done, now it's just helping her recuperate.

I also landed the job. Just gotta be there for orientation next Tuesday.

So, little bit of bad news. Mothers surgery was postponed another twoish weeks, so its happening on the 18th of Janurary instead of the 4th, but hey its still happening, so nothing too majorly bad

I haven't really said much about either of what I am gonna announce, but I figured a heads up is in order

1) Mother has been needing surgery for a while, and its finally got a set date.

I will be going offline around the 1-4th 18th (surgery was postponed) of Janurary 2017 to help her recouperate from surgery. This should take about a month to a month and a half at the very least if all goes well.
During this time, since she hates porn because "its degrading to women" (who are 100% consenting to said porn acts) I won't be able to do any adult art. If I can get a phone card, I WILL however, to fill downtime, be taking things like flat coloured headshots as a start to (what I hope) will be a new year and a restarting of me getting more art done.
Might even do them at half the price I normally charge for the entire time I am offline :>

I'll be posting a journal in the coming week or so with prices and what-not and how things will go.

2) For the last few years, since I was 19 years old (and I am 23 years old now) my fathers been fighting against an old ex-girlfriend in court over my little brother (there is a picture in my gallery if you can find it haha) of him when he was 2 years old, so I have mentioned things here and there about it, just not full details (and I won't go INTO full details) but the long and short of it is... my father finally got full custody of my little brother, and his crazy mother (who my little bro's doctors said in documented work, she might have Munchhausen's by-proxy), and she only gets him every other week.
You all cannot imagine how relieved I feel after 4 years of watching her say my father is abusive and he ends up with full custody anyways.
My mother even started crying when she was told this, and I say that is an amazing reaction~

This December I would GLADLY go without anything Christmas wise just because of these two things that I learned about today. Feels like the last 4 years for my dad, and the last six months for my mother, have finally come to a GOOD ENDING! I'm certainly just.... full of energy from this news I've been a little shaky!

I am going to state right now, that I still love the Sonic community. There are genuinely still good people within it, but alas, with the good, there is also the bad. Sadly, it seems though as of late, the bad has started outweighing the good. Between the people who "claim" they care about the community, but then turn around and start attacking those who actually care, users from all communities copybotting stuff, and so on, things have just declined in the years since I first joined the community, both on SL and various Art sites I reside on. I honestly feel like the community is split in half, and has no idea how to bridge the rift and begin the process of putting it back together.

Then there has been the daunting question of "How can we repair it now", and this is the only thing that I can think of.

"We can't... or at least not as easily as some would hope."

In the last 6 years (7 come July 4th), I myself have grown after being in the community. I've learned new things, made my mistakes, gained new skills and hell, have even begun making content for Second Life and have branched out into Opensim as well as a few other online games to get a feeling for new territory. It was part of the sane/good/logical side of the community that helped me become what I am today. An artist that loves creating content for users and who also wants to help contribute to the community, but after all that I have seen in the last week that has happened... things being taken out of context, slander against other users and flat out accusations that are not true, it's made me want to distance myself, and I won't lie. I have wanted to in the last few months, and more-so over the last week... but I haven't. I still honestly believe that the community can regain solidarity, regain itself and even rebuild its reputation as a whole. And in hindsight, there have been some friendships as of late that have been rekindled and are being worked on. Which is proof that there is still something left of the community that is salvageable.

I seriously believe that the community doesn't want to die out, I truly do, but the friction is too great to make any progress either way. I hope above all else, that the community will one day become something to be proud of.

And for point 3
4) usually, about 45% of the time (or maybe more/less, havent bothered looking in depth, just going by what I see in comments from image to image) have some form of "Ewww hooman, gtfo" or "-does RP action- Don't worry, she wont be in that disgusting form for long! -does RP action-" yadda yadda, you get the idea. Some comments are joke based, others dead serious.

Part of me understands that there are some furries who either hate human characters (or non furs in general) and is OK with that since it is how they feel and they deserve to have that respected, but the other part of me really wants to tear my hair out from seeing some of these comments and not be a white knight/SJW/etc.

Then some comments.remind me of the anti-human furs on Sofurry. Ran into a few, didn't like how they pretty much acted like biggots and after blocking them got harassed over just commenting "I didn't see anything about posting links in a journal as a no-no" on the original artists journal. And no, I know its not the sites fault, was the users. I actually liked the site layout and usability. (Oooops, diverged from topic x.x)

Eh, anyways, basically just noting how sad it is that some users feel it nessecary to comment in a negative way instead of "Not my thing, but it looks nice." At least that sounds a little nicer imo.

Be I right or wrong though, I am not worried about that. Just thinging out loud about things I notice that I know I need to start getting into if I wanna career in vidya gaems.

Just to clarify since I was a dumbass and forgot to say it:
Yes, I tried OBS, and no it did NOT work. Xsplit also had the same issue.
Yes, I tried compatibility mode for both programs and no, it did not help
I run Windows10 now and this is literally the only issue I am having with the OS, so no I don't plan on reverting. Will have to find a different work around later.

I am so fucking pissed off right now.

Apparently I can't run either of the broadcasting softwares I have installed because I "Need Windows 7 or higher" to run them.
Set to compatibility mode on Win7, nothing.

So until they either
A) Send out an update that is fully compatible with my graphics hardware (which will never happen knowing microsoft)
B) I get a new computer (which is more likely than an update, but a long fucking way off)

I can't stream.

Oh, did I mention that the Xbone power brick we have doesn't work now and we can't get a replacement power brick for another like, 9 days?
