I'm sorry, but I'm coming to the realisation I am just not gonna improve any more or be able to share works of quality with you folks

I'm kinda old now by this fandom's standards, and very entrenched in a demanding career and just, living the day to day of a solo occupant a long way from any kind of support network

I still really enjoy creating I'm just... very tired, run down, beat down maybe? I dunno

So yeah, idk I'm rambling I guess, but I'm sorry for not putting much up here (I struggle to think of anything as of the quality I want to formally share), and just pushing doodles out onto bsky as basically my only interaction with the wider fandom these days

I probably wont have anything more to contribute this year on FA, or maybe anywhere not sure yet. Regardless

I hope folks had a good year, I myself had probably the worst year of my life to date and it's been difficult to remain creative throughout. I've run out of juice at this point.

Hope to come back next year with more creativity after a short refresh, but the fact of the matter is next year may be another slow and less skilled one, as my career slowly eats away at the skills I've developed and replaces them with useless game dev information.

But to truth is probably more that I've lost a certain level of creativity to anxiety, and don't seem to be able to bring it back.

Hi, I don't know why I'm typing this up, I guess I just have a bunch of nonsense in my head and feel like writing some of it out... I'm not very eloquent or wordy so forgive me.

I look back years and years and just see... Mess... People disconnected and drifted from, relationships soiled and ruined, friends turned to people who despise me... The myriad times I've been a stupid fuck and deserved every bit of clap back I got.

Part of me wonders what life would have been like if I got my shit together at the right time, if I had focused properly on improving, if I'd ever listened to the people going "hey you're an asshole"... Bleh

I miss those people, every last one of them, but there is no going back, no reconnecting and picking back up, and even if it was possible why would those people ever want to welcome me? It's not reasonable to ever... Expect people to take you back...

I know some day I'll do it again, drift away from everyone, forget who I am and what matters and just go. I don't want to, but I don't feel I have much control over it.

To those of you from the old days still hanging out, thank you, never feel like you can't say hello.

To those I've disappointed over the years, I'm sorry. And that's not enough I know, but it's all I will ever be.

To those around now, thank you for your support, I'm sorry for when I inevitably squander it.

Here's the plan.

1. Yeet the long commision list. It's an anxiety generator for me, it's too damn long to ever get through reasonably, nobody has paid anyway (As I don't take payment upfront), and I'd rather be free to do other projects without the sword of damocles over my head.
2. Start opening up for short run colour pieces. I'm going to begin doing this Soon™, prices will be set when I open and there will rarely be more than 2 slots. I'm doing this because I still want to do commission work for folks, but I also recognise I'm -extremely- busy in my day job, and trying to chase art as a profession while still working 40+ hours a week is not something I'm capable of doing. Maybe one day things will shift and I'll be able to support myself only on art, but right now I don't think that's viable.
3. Actually boot up my patreon. I'm not sure how or when I'll do this, the plan was to start it in January but the state of the world sucked the life out of me in that instance. I'd LIKE to offer something back to Patrons other than just "here's basically a tip jar" but right now I'm out of ideas for something that doesn't burn me out.

So that's it really. If you're upset that the commission list is being trashed, it's not like the idea went away, you can always commission someone else for it or hold on until you can get a colour slot. Something I neglect doing a lot is making decisions to improve my mental health, but this year I'm actually going to give a crap and start working on that sooooo... yah.
