So! While i havent gone to the doctor to figure out exactly why my hand is being dumb, i've gotten to the point now where i CAN work on art.

SO. Once I at LEAST start the sketches for an art slave project done, i will be opening up commissions. I will also be uploading a guide of the specialty stuff i offer separately from my normal commissions! These guys are usually cheaper and a faster turn around time~

Here's the catch though. Because of whatever injury this is, i do have to take quite a bit of a break between pictures- like currently i'm sitting at about a week between each, so i'm working with a slower turnaround.

Luckily, I was able to be hired as an art slave to get my brakes replaced, woo! That's one of the reasons my commissions are closed.

The other reason is i will probably need to go to the doctor soon. For the last week, my left thumb has been agonizingly painful to move. It started right after the drive to Canada and has only worsened since. I cannot straighten it without pain and the tip going numb and now it's to the point where it hurts to bend it. I cannot pick up anything heavier than a pen, or else i automatically drop it. I can't even grip my art tablet pen to work on owed art. It also twitches insanely if i overuse it.

I've returned from Canada. I'm not overly happy about having to leave, but life goes on i guess. It's incredibly depressing having to leave, and i would stay if i didnt have so many financial obligations to deal with. God, i need to move closer or something, cuz shit sucks..

Before i went up, literally the day before I left, i went to get my oil changed and had the shop take a look at my brakes. I desperately need new brake pads AND rotors. Most people only change the pads, but I've seen the poor state of my rotors and they're just...awful. They're rusted so bad that they're starting to flake apart. I NEED to get them replaced, and very very soon, but I need help with it. I'll need roughly about $500 to do it, so here pretty soon i'm going to be opening up a huge commission sale (or if you're interested in hiring me as an 'art slave', message me for more details)

I have a question for peeps now, tho. What is a good place to create a photography and art portfolio-style gallery? I started setting up a Wix website, but then I saw the GODAWFUL url they were going to give me and noped the fuck off that really quickly (it was like.... myemail.wix.com/websitename and just terrible). I was thinking of starting up on Webs.com again, but i dunno. Do any of you have any suggestions for a [preferably] free website that does image hosting?

I'm in the home stretch for my three week trip to be with my fiance, i leave next friday (the 14th)!~

I managed to get all the things I wanted to get him for his birthday AND I managed to score one of those snazzy NES Classics to boot! I'm pretty stoked about it, tbh lol and I reckon he'll appreciate it too since he can't use trigger fingers, so no xbox. But now he'll have something to do!

And! I might still have internet access while there, so if i manage to art, I will be able to upload it~!

I am still open for commissions too! Even the short break I had helped a LOT to rejuvenate my art inspiration. I will probably start doing personal projects in between commissions to keep that flow going. I hated doing it because I felt i was stealing time from my commissioners, but I've realized that it's something I super need to do to keep myself going. So i am sorry to any future commissioners, but I do need a personal break sometimes and I hope you will understand~

Turnaround time, depending on complexity of the character and how many orders I get can range from a few days to a couple of weeks

So recently my Fiance got into a fight with a potato and lost- horribly. His pinky finger of his writing hand has a deep gash in it at this point. This happened roughly two weeks ago, and it was bad enough that he was taken to the hospital pretty quickly via ambulance. Well, instead of checking for substantial damage, they just stitched him up, wrapped it, and sent him WALKING HOME IN THE FUCKING RAIN WHILE DOPED UP ON MORPHINE. From his place to the hospital, it's about a 45 minute walk.

That part right there infuriates me, but it gets so much worse.

a WEEK goes by before he's able to actually get a hold of anyone, and even then the surgeon STILL isn't fucking available, and wont be for a week and a half. I don't know why, it sounds to me like she moves around the area to different hospitals and does work at all of them. Canada's fucking weird, i dont know. Anyway, he finally gets an appointment at a clinic and when they look at it, they realize he severed TWO TENDONS in his pinky and he needs immediate surgery. Problem is?

The fucking surgeon isnt at that hospital at all for the week.

So they're calling around trying to get him set up for an immediate surgery, and can't get anything so they take out the stitches and put him in a new splint and send him home, telling him to call the next morning.

He calls the next morning, and they managed to squeeze him in a surgery spot at a hospital that's four-fucking-hours away from him. Luckily his mom was able to take him.

But

when they get there

the hospital has no idea whats going on, who he is, and the doctor he was supposed to see wasn't even on call that day. So they can't get him into surgery and he and his mom are stuck there overnight. This was yesterday.

This morning, he finally got a slot, but was told the surgery may not happen until 8pm tonight. At this point, he's already aggravated, his cat was left home alone for more than a day, and just shit sucks. Well, they were able to get him in around 3pm today

and then they go and fucking do a full cast with a balled up fist inside. Essentially they turned his hand and arm into a club.

Know what that means?

He can't write.
He can't game.

and most importantly, he can't play guitar. Guitar is how he gets his money to survive. And it's an even bigger blow because we JUST got his baby [a '74 Gibson] back after it had a cracked headstock for almost a year (he's been using a Yamaha in the meantime).

At this point, i'm outraged by hospitals and doctors.

And incredibly worried for him

and i fucking hate that i can't be there to take care of him and help him with stuff.

at this point, we dont even know if the finger will be usable or if it's just going to be a useless appendage and get in the way of his playing guitar...

I've been reading stories where people have been waiting to get married, and then one of them ends up dying. I don't want that to happen to us, and i mean...tomorrow isn't promised. I already know I want to spend the rest of my life with my best friend, so why wait any longer than we have to....?

Well. I've finally gotten around to telling the rest of my family that i'm getting married. I've had to do so via email, and the only ones that replied back were my grandparents, who seem really supportive of me. And I let them know that we're going to be doing a courthouse ceremony rather than this huge affair. Because honestly, I don't want a huge ceremony...too much stress, too much money, too much time. Now it's just actually figuring out WHEN. I sorta want to do it in september, but NYEH. I'll have to talk to him more about it (which will probably be next week, since that's when I'm heading up there next). And when it does happen, i'll share pictures <3

I am still closed for my regular commissions, but I am open for those specialty Sexy Bodies; Derpy Faces things. Any money I make off of those will be going towards paying my tabs because HOLY FUCK they're going to be $130 this year. $115 for the tabs and registration itself, and then $15 for emissions testing. Jesus CHRIST. Last year I only paid $72 D: I'll also have to get my license renewed this year, which I hope wont be an off-the-wall amount like tabs.

My aunt sorta knows things because we talked quite a bit at our family reunion, but like....I seriously don't know how to break it to people. I was thinking of sending out a mass email to my family to let them know that hey, this dude is pretty wicked and i'm gonna spend the rest of my life with him....but is that like..too asshole-ish of me to do...? How do I even tell them I plan on moving to canada in the next few years??? and that i'm marrying him in canada???

Im hella determined to be a published author by the end of the year, and hopefully with have a new comic started up, plus I plan on maybe even getting married this year, but not 100% on that part yet~ all depends on how things goooo here in a few months up in canadaland

I forgot to post that I have returned safely from Canada~ had a wonderful Christmas with my man and his family, and I'm super sad to be back here. And I never thought I would say it, but I miss the snow ;~; Lord it was gorgeous up there~

On the way back, though, i hit some rocks that has fallen into the road, pretty large double-fist sized ones that i didnt see until the last minute. I was pissed, but it doesnt seem to have caused any damages to my car.

But I also will be opening up a few larger commissions if people are willing to be patient for them. I'm out $200 because of being snowed in and missing two days of work, so if anyone's interested, hit me up~

So this coming week is gonna be hella busy for me. This weekend I'll be preparing for my trip up to canada, which includes vehicle maintenance and packing and all that SUPER FUN STUFF.

And then I have my birthday on monday, which I will be working and....probably not even doing anything tbh. Maybe I'll splurge and get Taco Bell! Lol. No, i'm JK. I need to save money anyway for my trip at the end of next week. I'm sorta surprised it only takes me $50 to make a 400 mile trip up to canada....my car gets FABULOUS gas mileage when I let her loose on long stretches of road! And for a Cadillac DeVille, jumping from 19mpg to 24mpg....it's fuckin wonderful lol.

But about my car, I do have a few questions for you car nuts out there. Are there any ways that I can boost my mileage for city driving? The lowest I've been at is nearly 16mpg, and since I drive for work, spending $40 a week in gas is...well, it's unacceptable. I cannot trade it in either, as I dont want to add more years into paying off a car. Reason for that is that I only have two more years left to pay it off (maybe less if i use a good chunk of my tax returns to pay it off) and during the second year remaining is probably when I will be putting in my application for canadian residency (it's a 12 month process, gross). So...any ideas on how to get a big ol' land yacht better gas mileage? Besides getting a hydrogen kit?

But yeah, ANYWHO. I'll be heading to canada on the 22nd, and HOPEFULLY snoqualmie will be clear that day (the forecast said it SHOULD be with a few flurries, but hnnnn) and hopefully Rossland wont be too terrible either (anyone live in the Rossland BC area that can tell me what that godawful road down to Trail is like in the winter?). As far as the return trip, well that will depend on the weather as well. I'm SUPPOSED to be back the 26th, but I might stay til the 27th, because this will be the last chance i get with my fiance for a few months til my bigger trip in April that will have me there for three weeks.

Speaking of him, it's been TORTURE the last week not being able to talk to him. Because of some drama with his neighbor, the shared wifi wasnt paid and so now we have absolutely no way of contacting each other. He tried (i think) going to Telus to get his phone plan fixed, but since I haven't heard from him, I'm assuming they wont fix it for him. Telus is a TERRIBLE COMPANY. We've had nothing but problems from them. So fuck those guys man! BLAH.

But yeah, I wont really have an opportunity to work on commissions again until the new year hits, so sorry guys D: Luckily my queue only has three people in it (and a floater I owe lots of things to from years ago, no i havenlt forgotten Keldrin!).
