PWO v0.09, and a Supporter Vote!
Posted 3 months agoHey, in case you're not following my site's blog, Project Wild One v0.09 just dropped for supporters, and it's got a big new feature: Animations! I've been working hard breaking into a new field, and I think the game looks a lot better already!
But I've been debating a lot on what to work on for the next update, and I've decided to put it to a vote! If you're interested in either of these, now's a great time to support my work!
I know I've been quiet on here, so it felt like this was a good time to let you know, there's a lot going on! Should I be posting more journals just announcing what's going on with my work? I don't want to spam anyone's inbox, or make you feel like I'm just promoting my Patreon all the time, but a lot of the news tends to relate to that. What do you guys think?

Call for EU citizens!
Posted a year agoI've been following Ross, the guy behind Freeman's Mind for a long time, and recently he has been working on a big campaign to find a way to stop publishers from deliberately killing off their own games. Any game that requires an online component can potentially be rendered unplayable forever when they pull support, meaning you buy a game, then straight up can't play it at all anymore-- and in some cases, this happens in a matter of months from launch! He wants to put a stop to it, and I'm a big believer in this cause!
He's been searching for ways to fight it for years, and it looks like we've finally found our big in: he's raising signatures to put a new law in front of the EU. He has strong reasons to believe it'll pass if it gets enough signatures, but he needs a full million that aren't invalidated by technicalities. So if you're in the EU, please take a look!
You can GO HERE to sign the petition and get info on how to make double sure your signature counts!
If you want more info, he gives a quick explanation of the cause and the current situation here!
I believe video games are an art medium, one still in its infancy, and probably with greater potential than anything we've made before. I love games, and I think it's important to be able to look back and see the history of games, but this practice is creating a gap where many beautiful games will be rendered completely unplayable-- you can't experience all the work people put into the environment, the characters, the animations, the music, you can't get even a glimmer of what it was like to play it when it was new, even in single-player games. Like the publisher managed to track down and burn every single copy of certain books, or movies, forever. It's a horror show happening in the background, and there may well be a nostalgic game you remember fondly but already can't play ever again.
If we can pass this law in the EU, it will force the vast majority of publishers to spend a very small amount of extra time and effort making sure you can keep the games you bought. We just need EU signatures-- a lot of them. Even if you're not in the EU, you can spread the word wherever people love games and it might get a few more signatures on there. So anyone can do their part!
Spread the word! Save games!

If you'd like to get in on it early, you can find them now on my Patreon or SubscribeStar! It's a pretty big jump in a new direction in some respects, and very similar to MVOL in others, so I'm hoping folks will get a kick out of it!

First Survey: Feedback on MVOL!
Posted 5 years agoThe big series of blog posts I've been putting out the last few months has all been building up to the survey I'm working on now. But... it turns out I kinda have a lot of things I want to ask you. So I'm breaking the survey down into parts to make it easier for you guys! With that in mind, I'm shipping out the first survey a little early.
Please give me feedback on MVOL!
I plan to ship a new survey every week or so, maybe a little faster, so be sure to keep checking back on my site's blog! Right now I'm looking at around four of these total, but I'm still developing it, I might split the biggest one again. I know I can't get 100% of my playerbase to respond to these, but I want to get absolutely as many people's opinions as I can, so please add your voice! I care about what you guys think, and now's the time to make the big decisions.
Thank you!

News, Help Needed, Plushies??
Posted 6 years agoHey folks! In case you haven't been following on my new site, I know it's been pretty quiet lately, but there's a lot going on right now!
I've started a series of posts to go over all the details for a retrospective on MVOL and explain what my plans are for after it's complete! This is gonna be a huge infodump over the next few weeks or months, hopefully most of it pretty interesting reading!
And on a more immediate note, I just made a post on two other points: I could really use some more playtesters/proofreaders, and I'd like to see how many people might buy a Lith plushie!
Check it out and stay in the loop with MVOL and my future projects!

New Site! Playable MVOL Preview!
Posted 6 years agoHey guys! I'm finally moving on from the old, frumpy blog to a slightly less frumpy new site of my own! This'll be the new place to get all the news for MVOL and any other projects of mine, and it should be all hooked up with email subscriptions, twitter notifications, and an RSS feed to make sure you're kept in the know!
https://Lithier.com

And to get everyone looking at the new site, I've got a little treat! Be sure to check out my recent post on there for a playable preview of upcoming content for MVOL! I know a lot of people have been requesting the "fourth path" for quite a while now, and I've finally gotten enough of it done to share my work so far with you all. So check it out today!

So hey I'm at MFF!
Posted 8 years agoI probably should have announced this sooner, but I was super nervous about it and not big on sharing any news about "irl me," but uh... I've come to realize this is a pretty social con and I don't know anyone here and have poor social skills xP
SO! If you're going, maybe keep an eye out for me? You can also find my tentative schedule here: http://sched.furfest.org/lithier I'd be happy to have some folks to talk to while I'm here. Today I'll be wearing a black hoodie and a black undertale t-shirt.
...Is it weird to simultaneously want to meet my fans but also be all anxious about it? xP Sorry if it seems like I'm playing "hard to get."

Looking for a few helpers!

The Cathouse Tale!
Posted 9 years agoHey, guys! I know it's been a while since you heard anything about this project from me. We hit a lot of hard times, and a lot of our plans got put on hold while we sorted out issues with our team and tried to get the basic game functionality running properly again. But things are finally starting to look up! Check out the post below for the good news, plus a playable mini-demo to get an idea of what's coming! Also, if you haven't looked at the project in a while, I'd encourage you to go to our main page and scroll through our previous posts, there's lots of juicy stuff to see in there :3

eBooks, MVOL, and Other Stuff!
Posted 10 years agoGosh, it's been an eventful month! If you haven't been watching my blog, you've probably missed some news, so let's run down the essentials real quick!
First off, if you haven't seen my submission, my first brand new story for eBook is up on Kindle, and To Own a Wolf Chapter 1 (Parts 1-5) is complete again. I ran into some issues with the books being blocked, which was frustrating, but they're all back in place, and hopefully it won't be much longer before I'm publishing Parts 6-9, and maybe some other stories.
Also, if you don't use Kindle, I've also published on Smashwords, which then distributes my work to half a dozen other sites, though I haven't been able to verify all the ones they say it's going to. So you've got lots of options if you'd rather read somewhere else!
Last word on eBooks: if you do pick any up, it would be a huge, huge help if you leave a review! Be honest. And if you're worried about attaching your name to a smutty book, you can edit your displayed name on Amazon for reviews easily! Go to your profile here and click the "Profile page settings" button, and the first thing you'll see is the name you're displaying to the world. So you can set it to "Anonymous" or "Amazon Customer" or whatever you want and review without worry! Just a thought :3
Next up: after getting some positive responses for a more in-depth, scene-by-scene discussion of the game, I've gone ahead and set up a subforum for it on the MVOL forums! Two scenes are up, complete with full transcriptions of the scene as it can appear in game plus some commentary from me on what I was going for and what I worry about with the scene. Come check it out and give me your feedback on the writing and your experience in the game! Click here, but if it doesn't seem to work after you click through the 18+ screen, just click the link again!
Also, in case you hadn't noticed, there's been a weird issue with the text formatting in MVOL, where it spread the text over the entire screen in a really ugly way. I went ahead and switched the game to left-oriented, which doesn't look as good as justified, but it seems to have fixed the problem. I haven't found a better solution, as it looks like this is just an issue with an update for Flash itself, as near as I can tell. Hopefully they'll fix it sooner or later!
Lastly, I've joined a friend of mine in making a few silly Let's Play's for furry porn games! We may be making more soon, but right now, there are three up on his page. We've been poking around, molesting sleeping creatures and cracking dumb jokes in SleepWuffl and SleepBurd so far. Decent way to waste a little time, I think!
I tried to make this pretty brief, but man, that was still a lot of info! I try to keep my journal count low here, as I've always been kinda annoyed with artists and writers that make more journals than they do submissions ^.^; If you'd like a more comprehensive, reliable news feed from me, you should definitely try checking/following my blog! Also, see what I'm up to day to day on my twitter! Anyway, thanks for reading, and I hope those of you with the opportunity to do so enjoy my new, exclusive story!

So Let's Talk About MVOL!
Posted 10 years agoHey, folks! I've made a big post over on the MVOL Blog about a new regular feature I'm thinking about adding for the MVOL community to encourage discussion of the game and get some feedback on it myself. There's also some news about v0.18! The new update is coming real soon now. I won't go into the whole thing here, but the basic idea is that we'd look at an individual scene each week or two, I'd give you the inside scoop on it, then open it up for everyone to discuss. I was thinking about using the MVOL forum for it! It's been a bit dead for a while anyway ^.^; So if you've got a minute, take a look! I'm hoping to get some feedback now on whether this is something people would be interested in, or if I'd just be raving to myself here xP
Removed!
Posted 10 years agoWell, shoot. I posted a story this weekend, which some of you may have seen, about a boy with troubled thoughts and strange desires and the mysterious woman he encounters. I couldn't post the whole thing here, since I knew FA has some strict policies on that sort of thing, so I just posted the clean portion of it and linked to where you could find the rest.
What I didn't know is that FA not only prohibits that sort of thing, and by a surprisingly strict set of standards, but they prohibit the linking to other sites, even SoFurry and InkBunny, to tell you when such content is available! My submission, which was technically clean enough to be considered General Audience, has been removed.
So! If you're interested in such things, you may want to consider checking out my other accounts. My SoFurry is linked in my profile. In light of the warning I've received, I'm not going to link directly to anything over there just now. I suppose I can understand why this has happened, but I can't say I'm not disappointed. I hope any of you interested in my newest story will go and give it a look!
Also, I'd linked to this in the same submission, so I'll mention it here: I'm opening up the call for a new Variant Writer to the public! Come help edit and write for MVOL, and get paid for it! You can now look over the full details of the position and poke through a sample of my code to send me what you will and see what you can do with the tools I offer! I hope to hear from you! http://mvolith.blogspot.com/2015/07/open-call.html

Looking for Variant Writers!
Posted 10 years agoHey, folks! In case you haven't seen (and if so, you're missing out) I'm looking for writing help with MVOL! It's sort of a combined writing and editing position, and it's not going to be easy, but if you're the right person for the job, I'll be happy to pay for your services. If you'd like to know more, check out my blog here!
MVOL v0.17 and Patreon!
Posted 10 years agoHello, everyone! v0.17 is ready as of this moment, and next weekend it will be released to the public! If you just can't wait to play, you may be interested in my new Patreon, officially launching today! As a kickoff special, everyone that joins will get advance copies of v0.17+ right away, no matter what amount they pledge. Check it out!
Right now, the only supporter rewards are the same as I've been offering before-- a cheat-enabled copy of the game, and if you're especially generous, early access to the next version. But I'm planning to add more rewards as the monthly pledge total increases, some of which I want to choose based on feedback from the community. Please take a look, and vote in the poll for what rewards you'd be most interested in! And if you're tantalized by these possibilities, the idea of monthly mini-updates, or even an on-the-spot feed of my new writing, then come pitch in, and maybe tell a friend or two!
And yes, for those of you who may be wondering, I will still accept donations the old-fashioned way on my blog, and send the same rewards as usual. I'm hopeful lots of folks will be interested in the Patreon system, though, and we can build it up into something big and exciting for everyone! ^.^

How should I set up my Patreon?
Posted 10 years agoHello, folks! Yes, that's right! I made the announcement on my blog last night, and I figured I should go ahead and spread it around as best I can: I'm going to be starting a Patreon for My Very Own Lith! But half the reason I want to make sure people know about it is that I'm not sure what rewards and milestones would be most exciting to potential supporters, and I want your feedback! I've listed a lot of ideas I'd like to hear thoughts on, and I'd love to hear any more ideas you all might have! Please take a look!
Name These Characters!
Posted 10 years agoAlso, choose their species!
What's going on? I'm working on TagIt 2, and I believe I've just finished brewing up what the story is going to be about. Apparently medieval fantasy is a big go-to for me! Who knew? So I'm getting ready to start writing, I've got the characters in mind as far as history, personality, actions, all that, but there are a couple things I don't have: names and species!
To be honest, I've never been great at choosing them. It always either feels too distracting or too boring. So in the spirit of TagIt, I'm offering up the choice to you guys! This won't be a vote or anything, I'll just choose the ones I like best, or maybe just use them for inspiration, cause I am drawing a complete blank right now. So, let's look at who you'll be naming! Uh, if you'd like the full experience with the upcoming story, you may want to skip these descriptions, actually. SPOILERS!
Great Demon(M): Big, bad, horny guy. Did a lot of bad things. Dead.
Demon Child(M): Little bitty demon guy. Enslaved!
Angel of Wrath(H): Formerly mortal, but ascended through great deeds! Likes to kick butt and be righteous, but also likes to fuck the wicked with her magic herm cock.
Wizard(M): Hailed as a hero! But kind of a corrupt, greedy dick. Lots of magic!
Priestess(F): Fallen from grace. Motherly.
Rogue(F): Kind woman, humble. Been away for a while.
So! If you've got suggestions for any or all of them, comment below! I need names for all of them, and species for the bottom four. I don't care if you suggest your own characters' names and species, just keep in mind this may not turn out how you expect :p

Balance update!
Posted 10 years agoI've been getting a lot of feedback on the game with the new release, and I went ahead and went through some parts of the game trying to track down problem areas. The new scale of effect for changing stats did cause a few problems, so I've made some adjustments for that, and I've worked to make pink and blue collars work a little better as well as make dominant Lith a little easier to achieve. I look forward to seeing how these changes affect the gameplay and getting more feedback from you all :3

MVOL, and Tags!
Posted 10 years agoHello, everyone! First, I'd like to mention that the tag sale for my second TagIt story is still going. If you were wondering, you are allowed to buy multiple tags at once, and if you do so, you don't have to worry about paying some of them at "late comer" prices if it's nearing that point, the price is flat for tags bought at the same time. I didn't emphasize this right away since I wanted to try and make sure everyone had the chance to get in on it, but at this point it's a bigger priority to me to have the slots fill up than for them to be particularly diversified ^.^; So if there's anything you've been wanting me to write about, now is the time to directly make sure that I cover your theme(s) or kink(s) of choice!
And in other news, My Very Own Lith v0.16 is complete! Those that donated $25 or more to v0.15 received exclusive advance copies two days ago, and I'll be posting the game for the public next weekend. If you just can't wait that long, however, you can now donate any amount to receive your own advance, cheat-enabled copy! And, of course, if you donate $25 or more, that will also put you on the list to get v0.17+ ahead of everyone else. There's a little bit of an extra goody in this release, and I hope everyone likes it! :3

TagIt Story 2: Sold Out!
Posted 10 years agoFirst thing, a quick correction! Since Paypal has the tendency to flip out over this sort of thing, please don't send your tag in the Paypal note. Instead, please either PM me here or email me at lithiers[at]gmail.com with your tag and with the email address and/or confirmation number attached to your payment, just so I can keep track of who sent what. It may be helpful to simply add in the Paypal note "Tag" or "Character Tag" just to help keep things clear, however.
If you're not sure what's going on, please check out the full explanation of TagIt Stories! As of this moment tags for my next TagIt Story are up for sale, as priced below. Send payment as indicated, then PM me or email me with your tag to get it added to the list! If you'd like to see an example, check out today's new story: The Conception. The first TagIt was chosen by community vote, and I think it turned out pretty well!
Go Here and click "Donate" on the right to buy your tag!

Current Tag List

It's cheapest to buy early, so if there's something you've been dying to see me write about, make sure you get in before somebody beats you to the early slots! I'll be updating this journal as new tags come in, so make sure to check it before sending your payment! If I've updated prices and you send in too little, I'll email you at the account attached to the paypal, and you can pay the difference for the full amount if you respond before it fills up, or I can offer a full refund. You can check my journal after you send payment and your tag should be on there shortly!
If you're not sure if your tag will be acceptable, check the full explanation, which includes an F-List full of possibilities. If you're still not sure or just want to straight out ask, leave a comment on that journal! If you've got any other questions, feel free to ask here!
The slots are sold out! Thank you very much, everyone! Time for me to start brewing this crazy mix up into something tasty :3

TagIt Story 2: Get Ready!
Posted 10 years agoHey, folks! I've finally finished the first TagIt story, and man, it's turned into a whopper! I'm going to give it a couple days to cool, edit it up, and get it posted on Friday. And that means that it's time to get ready for the next one!
TagIt 1 was the big first experiment to see how I could work within the restrictions of making a whole bunch of different tags combine into something worthwhile. Since I wasn't sure how it'd end up going, I opened the first one up to a general vote, but now, I'm ready to start them up properly! This coming Friday, shortly before I post the results of TagIt 1, I'm gonna open TagIt 2 for everyone to buy tags as they want. If you're not sure what I'm talking about, check out the full explanation of TagIt Stories!

I'm excited to finally get to the real thing and see what you all want me to write about! I hope you'll have as much fun with this as I will. See you Friday!

Three things!
Posted 11 years agoFirst thing! I've started a new blog! Its purpose is manifold, but through the link is an in-depth explanation of how and why it's come to be. The short version is, more or less, that it is my personal space to post up all sorts of things, be they related to writing, the game, or anything else. Expect long rants and snippets of my writing often, as well as a more comprehensive series of updates on just what I'm doing or releasing at any given time. I plan to update it regularly three times a week, so it'll be more active than my MVOL blog, and if you enjoy reading the various things I write, this may well be a treat for you. I hope that everyone remotely interested will at least have a look, as today's post is also a sneak peek at my upcoming TagIt story :3
Second thing! I've released my second eBook! The To Own a Wolf series is one of my old standbys, and it was so popular that when I held a reader vote on which series to add a second chapter to, it won by a landslide. I've removed the original series from the public area, edited it up to better meet my current standards of writing, polished up all the little bits, and I'm publishing it in Parts on Amazon in the hopes that folks will enjoy the reborn, fully finished series even more! I did save everyone's comments as well before deleting the originally published works, as I got a lot of great feedback both in praise and criticism, and I went ahead and took a few folks' comments anonymously to add to the ebooks' pages as they come out :3 My thanks to everyone that left kind words on my stories! Also, I commissioned a piece of art from
clockwork-caribou to illustrate the cover, which I'll be adding as a new submission shortly!
Third, final thing! I've started a Twitter account! While my new blog should be a pretty comprehensive place to find out what I'm up to, I guess Twitter will be where I make sure to link to every single thing I do comprehensively, as well as give little bits and pieces of my process and day to day. Or something like that! I'm not sure yet. But that's what you do with a Twitter, right? Dang kids and their birdchirpin' social networks...
So that's three big new things for you to check out! And it's not even that horribly long a post! @3@ Well, THIS one isn't... Hope you enjoy! :3

Somebody's Playing...
Posted 11 years agoYesterday evening, in a small frenzy of activity, MVOL v0.15 was rendered complete and ready to play. For my most generous donators, those who contributed $25 or more to v0.14, I sent out the new version to be played immediately (along with an update briefly afterward when we finally got the Android version working xP).
If you didn't get a copy but believe you should have been on that list, shoot me an email at lithiers[at]gmail.com and we'll get it straightened out.
If you didn't get a copy but you really want to, you can either wait until next Friday, the day after Christmas, when the new version goes fully public, or you can donate any amount any time this week via my blog to get v0.15+ for yourself. Donations over $25 will, as always, get you put on the list to get a copy of v0.16+ as soon as it's ready as well :3
It feels great to finally have a new version ready to go, and I'm looking forward to seeing how you all like it, and how the new play feedback system works ^.^ My thanks to everyone that's stuck around, and I hope you'll find it was worth the wait!

"Tag It" Story 1: Vote Now!
Posted 11 years agoAlright, I've taken all the suggested tags and made up a little poll for everyone to vote on, hosted on my blog.
Go here to vote!
If you're not sure what's going on, see my last journal for an explanation of my first Tag It story! Once the votes have settled down I'll take the most popular tags and see where they take me. Thanks for contributing, everyone!
