Opening some MTG Aetherdrift, then "lap 1" of a special box opening series this year! I know I'm not super active online anymore, and I was supposed to stream this past weekend, but life threw a curveball at my family. Monday last week, my dad passed away, and this past week has just been nothing but mourning, laughing and remembering, and healing. It's hard for me to listen to music, sleep is light, but I'm slowly getting better. One step at a time, one day at a time.

Stream has been rescheduled to later this month, and will be super chill.

It's been a hot minute! Well, since I posted. Last things I did were a charity stream and have a panic run while saving up for a new car...so here's a lil update

First off, guess what, I opened this years Extra Life page early, so we have the whole year to reach $500. I'm also adding and tweaking things, such as all donations get a name on something, and more giveaway stuff that's actually varied this time. Even making some things bundles, like a Lego Minecraft BUNDLE, a boardgame BUNDLE, a SET of Pokemon plushies, etc. I also have some guaranteed games, from continuing the randomizer nuzlocke, to a new Bionicle Heroes save file to 100%, and Minecraft with Kat and/or solo (snapshot exploring and Stoneblock!). I'll post links at a later date, but I plan to do the first "mini stream" sometime next month (March), including fulfilling on the "Plague Doctor Plays" from last year.

Aside from that, I've just been sketching here and there, nothing I feel like posting online just yet. Had some minor art block, but I'm starting to get through it, starting with the Illushines. Seriously, I love them so much, I love drawing them, and will keep making more adopts of them, even if they don't sell (but if you'd like one, feel free to claim one, or commission a custom for your own personal design). I also forgot to post art from MONTHS ago, so expect some Mario that's not actually drawn because of the movie.

Will I post regularly now? Unsure. Work is work, time is valuable, and sometimes I just need to relax. But I want to draw more, and finally have ideas and motivation, I'll be drawing at least A FEW things.

Also, did get that car. God new driver insurance hurts, but I'm getting by. It's a nice car though, and actually works and is good on gas. If you'd like to help my irl financial situation, here's your second reminder this post that I have adopts and commissions open. Not required, but boy does it help.

Life is just generally really good right now, and honestly I'm glad I'm spending less time online. It may not be what helps grow my following and "brand", but man, just drawing what I want, when I want, how I want? If at all? Feels good man.

Hey, so life is a little hectic right now, but I'm managing to stay afloat. Kinda...car broke down, and it's better to get something new(er) than keep sinking money into this old thing.

If you're interested in helping an artist out, I take commissions, and have several adopts open. I'm in the process of buying a car so I can still work my day job and live, and just in case I have to go certain financial routes, any commissions and/or adopts would be super appreciated. I'm hoping maybe I can do some new eevee adopts, but we'll see how these next few days go.

Heyooo, life's been hectic as FUCK, and I missed MerMay ;w;

BUT...I have a plan to fix that kinda! So Pride is next, sooo I'mma just...draw my merms for Pride? Romantic situations, and/or repping flag colours, we'll see, but I intend to draw them now that my time is freed up more and I can plan things better. A request + comm back to back with unexpected life stuff just created chaos, but that just feels like life now.

On that note, some changes are being made to what I'm taking! As of now, technically a week or so ago;
- OC asks are closed
- Trades/Collabs are closed
- Commissions are temporarily closed as they are getting reworked

"Why are asks closed?"
It comes down to interest and motivation. When I first opened them, I had lots of motivation and drive for them, but hardly any response without me constantly pushing them. I get you have to do that for certain things, but the interest wasn't really there, and when more came in I just didn't feel like it anymore. Maybe I'll open them again as a periodic thing, but for now they're staying closed.

"Why are trades and collabs closed?"
Well, I switched them to "ask" because I did end up having a certain standard for who I'd work with. Not like "I only work with top tier professionals with thousands of followers!", no, I mean I just did trades for written stories with one person (which wasn't bad), but kept having people on me asking to do trades when their "style" didn't appeal to me, nor did it feel up to par for a trade, and that's IF there was even examples for me to see. And collabs just didn't happen. I think one person asked, but it was same with trades, it just didn't feel like a fair balanced thing. So, straight up trades and collabs are being closed, and in the future, I'll do posts looking for such via application, and then I can pick and choose what feels good.

"What's happening with commissions?"
Commissions are getting revamped again. Prices are adjusting, which does mean rising, but also terms are getting reworked and added upon. Once more, things cost money, and now that I'm taking on main roles during my day job, I'm more tired afterwards, on top of a newfound social life, so my time feels more valuable to me. As well, skills and styles improve and change, and more time goes into certain aspects than once previously. And as far as terms, things are getting simplified, plus other things added or subtracted depending on what. For example, there will be a tweak to refunds at certain points.
AS WELL, I want to note that I will be taking future comms by way of google forms, with notes and other direct messaging systems used as the communication line while things are in progress, as well as obviously finalizing details before starting. This is to make both mine and the buyers life easier getting started, as well as a more easy way to ensure the terms are read. I know people like to skip over ToS, but considering artists hardly even have half a page of terms, usually just very basic things even, I'd like to think people would more likely read them.

Something about my OC's...
Some of my characters I'm still very happy with, others not as much, and still some I haven't even drawn yet outside a ref. While nothing's set in stone, I thiiink I might shelve some of my characters, and just keep ones I know I feel good about or have some strong attachments to still. Nothing will be deleted, but some characters just might not be drawn again unless maybe via commission, but that'll depend.

Onto life updates, not too much. Actually, that's wrong, I literally said "hectic as FUCK".

So I got to meet an internet friend for the first time, the one I actually "met" on Tinder. We went for a hike up this nice trail to an outlook, and my god the view was stunning. You can see pics of the trail + view on my insta, but man, it was so much fun. It's roughly a 3 hour round walk, but with our chatting we were there for maybe 6 or 7? Then just last weekend on the 21st we went to the FaceToFace tour in Halifax for some MTG fun! She played in a draft, I played some commander, met some friends from the card shop, and we played some casual "anything goes" games. She's the type of friend I think I've needed in my life, one who not only wants to do things, but actually makes plans to do them! It's honestly awesome, and we're gonna hopefully go see the new Jurassic World when it hits theaters, and eventually do another trail hike!

Other than that, bowling finished for the season, so I'll be out walking more. Work is going good, learning more, taking more responsibilities. If I haven't mentioned it, I build custom kitchens for a living. It's awesome as an artist.

It's been awhile since I did a journal update, but if you've read my blurbs in my recent music pieces, you can guess part of this update post.

First off, hi! Hello! I do still exist, just at a slower pace online! In the process of recovery, I've stepped a bit more outside the online hubs, and it adds up quite a bit. I've played most of Legends Arceus, raised about $150 USD for that charity stream back in NOVEMBER, been getting out to play MTG in person, bowling, and recently I've been getting into going for walks! Among other small things.

The big one for me is getting to play MTG in person again, because over the holidays up until the Neon Dynasty release we were on another strict lockdown, and then for 4 weeks after we had snowstorms on Fridays! But getting back into it has been such a blast, playing new decks, becoming arch enemy more frequently because I like to play more powered up decks. Not cEDH level, but higher than generally what the table is playing. It's fun though, unless it's a 6 player game. Then it just becomes "You played a thing? TABLE! ANNHILATE HIM!"

Bowling has been more fun lately, now with some family matters aired, and we have team members that ACTUALLY show up! I've been less harsh on myself, and save the competitiveness for tournaments, which I've become official captain of! That technically happened awhile ago, but it's become less of a headache now that I have dedicated players.

And with summer coming up, and a couple other factors, I've decided to try and get outside more, by walking, and hopefully can build enough stamina to eventually bike around and not die. I know I work in a trade that gets me moving and lifting, and I bowl, but I haven't done much actively outside that in years. I wanted to change that. So I started walking around my neighbourhood, extending the route at the end of the week, and will probably cap it off at a certain point. I'm also gonna try to keep it to a schedule; Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. I don't need to lose weight, but getting good exercise and fresh air is never a bad thing.

And the big update, again if you haven't read my blurbs in my recent music pieces, I've been in the process of mental health recovery. To catch you up to just before this update: In September I went through a break up that left me feeling shattered, I felt it very hard to keep myself together, so I reached out to local mental health services, had an appointment in October that set me up with a therapist which started in January. Updates anew: With the very minor appointment and my own research giving me new coping strats, I found I was able to get over the break up before therapy even started, which is good, but then what? Well, I know full well I still had things I needed to deal with, or wanted to improve, so I took the opportunity to use therapy to work on my personal social anxieties, from phone calls to interacting during in-person conversations.
Well, suffice to say it's been working wonders, whether people see it or not. Phone calls have become so much easier to make, even if answering could use a little more work. I've been making more "meaningful" eye contact during conversations and interactions, and speaking up more during conversations both one-on-one and in groups. Like, I had to call one of my bowlers to see if he was still able to make it. Normally I'd avoid it, or make it as quick a call as possible, but the call turned into a phone conversation about a few topics, and nothing catastrophic happened like my mind was falsely telling me! I've made more eye contact with people than ever probably, because I know that eye contact is a big factor in developing closer connections to people, and I haven't gotten any weird looks or remarks like my mind told me it would! Not only have I been jumping into conversations more, I've been having FULL conversations, and about things I wouldn't have ever guessed I would, and I don't feel the panic that my mind normally created in silence! Hell, on the way out leaving Friday Night Magic, I just blurted out "G'night everyone!" without really any thought, and it felt good! I felt fine! Hell even just going for a short walk and having a small disconnect from the web for an hour just to be at peace feels amazing!
I don't wanna say I feel like a whole new person, but I definitely feel more like the person I've always wanted to be, and that alone is enough to make me happy.
And you know what else? I've been happier with myself as a whole more, and in doing so, felt different about my singleness. Long long loooong ago-okay, September 2020-I made a tinder account, which led to a relationship, and a current new friendship. Well, I grew tired of the same things over and over popping up, so I deleted tinder, just last week actually when I started walking! And even though it means I "see" less faces, I've felt better knowing I'm not in some rat race for a partner, that I can just be ME, and know people like me for me, however that may be. I still have a little ways yet with therapy, but like I said in the most recent piece, the series ain't quite done yet! One more song, when the time is right.

Hey my guys, just another life update. While it's just gonna be "write as I think", I gotta say there's gonna be some important things addressed, both in regards to myself and my art.

First off, let's get an update on things I mentioned last update, cause I think it leads to some of the big stuff. A week before the break up I was having panic attacks, and when all the changes happened, they amped up severely, to where I was scared on a level I'd never felt before. After a couple weeks of fighting my thoughts, I made an appointment with a mental health person, which said appointment just recently happened (yeah, free healthcare, but gotta wait weeks to months). In the end, with other resources to help and hold me over, I'll be seeing a therapist starting in January.
I know there's stigma's to that, but after having been on meds, and trying various coping strats, I feel it's the right next step in finding peace of mind. Plus, I don't see it as anything to look down upon, they're professionals who do want to help. If they dismiss what I say to push some easy pass-it-off thing, then that person is shit at their job and I'll happily find someone who's willing to listen.
And in case it's on anyone's mind, I'm still friends with them. Despite the panic, anxiety, and thoughts spiraling around them, they were the one to give me the push to reaching out for professional help. Actually, even before the appointment, a random night of going down the youtube rabbit hole did a lot to help, mainly when I landed on a video that talked about emotions that related to mine, and finally giving a name to this thing I was feeling. I legit almost cried, and even the simple search I did gave me tools to help me up til now. So yeah, that's what this past music inspired series has been, my process of healing.

October's going pretty well, and this challenge is also helping me keep sane. Btw, it's still just on Twitter, posting in bulk on other sites when the month ends, or when I get the last day done, whichever happens first. You can view the thread here. I like a lot of the later days myself, but hey, still got a little over a week left to go. And I know I said I'd post day 1 here, but whoops, I forgot.

I kinda wanna stream, but at the same time I'm not quite sure I feel up to it. Would love to stream some Stardew, but I know I'm not the best with talk topics, nor do I have people I could do co-op games with.

I mentioned music earlier, holy crap is it ever the season of new music. So many bands I listen to have either released a new album these past couple months or will be in the coming month. Fills me with joy, currently listening to INK's new album Welcome to Horrorwood heavy and on repeat. Honestly, they're my Halloween music playlist, cause metalcore meets horror movies? Uh, yuh! Gimme them screams and death growls about everything from Nightmare on Elm Street to Resident Evil.

Ok, circling back to last update, I also came out as Ace/Bi-romantic. I also explained how I got to that realization. Still holds up, but since then I've learned a bit more. I look at things I drew, things I remember enjoying drawing and seeing the results, but now I don't feel it. I see certain kinks and feel nothing, or feel weird. I think from this point, the weird stuff might get pushed aside for other stuff. I'd still draw it for commissions, trades, etc, but not so much for personal projects. Like, the recent pin up I did felt so much fun to draw, but looking back on the very lewd stuff I drew, I didn't enjoy it as much. I took so many breaks, and only felt good when done cause it was done and out of the way for other things.
So yeah, I want to do more pin ups, more experimental style stuff, and less kinks and explicit art in my personal projects. If y'all want to see that stuff, the best way to see it from me is by commission, trade, or potential adopt extra. I mention this cause I know it does matter to some.

Oh, and on that note, trades and collabs are going back to "Ask" status. Mainly cause I still have preferences for who I'll do them with, and it does kinda require asking anyway, but also cause timing can be weird.

So, it's official, I'm a 1-man show again. At least this one didn't end in a dumpster fire. No, we talked, and even though it's over, we're still gonna try being friends. Unlike prior, I have the closure needed to move on sooner/dwell on things less. Still stings tho, but that's to be expected.

On a somewhat related but not though note, this relationship helped me discover more about myself that I was unsure about and questioning. After experiences and self reflection, I'm finding I'm asexual and bi-romantic. Looking back, I thought I was bisexual because "I'm drawing all this porn/lewd art, I must drawing it because of sexual attraction!" but now I realize I draw it because it's fun? It's interesting? It presents a close bond in most cases, or just evokes special emotions. I don't get anything sexual from it other than "these characters are having sex/being lewd." If people have a problem with this, then those people can leave.

I dunno what life has next for me, but I feel okay taking my time until my next search for love.

"For $X, I will draw this thing for you."
- Payment via Paypal*.
- Payment must be made within 48 hours of commissioning**, in which I (the artist) will start officially working on the commission. If there's no payment, the commission will be considered cancelled.
- I will send work in progress (WIP) shot when everything requested is sketched out in rough, in which the commissioner may:
-- Request changes if they're unsatisfied. In this case, you will receive a new WIP with the changes.
-- Decide to go through with the commission. In this case, you acknowledge you cannot be refunded beyond this point.
-- Decide to cancel the commission. In this case, you will be refunded in full, and the art will not be finished.
- It is the commissioners responsibility to provide any and all necessary reference materials, including, but not limited to photo, drawn, and written descriptions.
- It is the commissioners responsibility to request a deadline. If no deadline is requested before work starts, the commission will be done at my (the artists) leisure.
- I (the artist) reserve the right to decline any commission I see fit, without having to give reason.

4. Adopts
"For $X, you can own this character design I drew."
- Payment via paypal only.
- When you purchase an adopt, you buy the rights to use the character however you see fit.
- When purchasing an adopt with an extra, you only get that tier + the base adopt image. Example below
"$35 - Unmarked image + alt
$50 - Includes icon
$65 - Includes chibi"
In this case, buying the $65 tier gets you the base adopt (the $35 tier) and the chibi art. The icon would need to be a separate commission.
- The additional "$5 for NSFW alt" applies to each tier except refs.
- The owner of an adopt may request changes to the base image, and/or may make the changes themselves.
- If anything bought of the adopt is NSFW, it is assumed the buyer is 18+ years of age.

5. Gifts
"Here, a surprise for you!"
- Gift art by me is for friends only.
- The only exception is if art via commission or trade is intended as a gift for a friend.
(In short, I draw gift art for friends & the occasional person I follow)

6. Requests
"Drawing your thing for free."
- No.
- I do not "take" requests seriously.
- I save legit requests for my close friends and family (for example, my girlfriend, my brother, my best friend from high school)
- If I say anything akin to "yes" or "sure" to your request in any serious manner, it will be added to a list that I'll pull from for ideas. That does not mean I will work on it like a commission, it means I like your idea, I'd like to draw it, but will draw it when I feel like it.
- If you want your thing drawn by me for 100% certain, the way you'd like, any option above from 1-4 will always be guaranteed.

- If you commissioned art, or got art from me via a trade, collab, gift, etc, the art you get is what you may post wherever you like, with a link back to my page(s).
- Only the person the art is intended for may repost, unless the art is being gifted, in which the person receiving may also repost.
- Personal art I've drawn for fun on my own time may not be reposted at all.
- Adopt bases and extras may be reposted, but must credit me for the design on those posts. If you or another artist makes a new reference or other art, credit is not needed.
- Collabs are a case by case, depending what everyone agrees on.

I know I include them with normal updates, but I wanted to put up a little update on what's going on in my life atm

Warning, first topic is very...gross/cringe
First off, bashed a couple fingers a couple weeks ago. 1 nail looks like it'll survive, the right hand pinky nail isn't as lucky. I give it another 3-5 days before it's gone

Okay, gross stuff done

Then a week ago, after a week of just great things, life gave me a kick. 3-ish days of mental hell, filled with self doubt, imposter syndrome, severe burnout, and a mild identity crisis along with a minor panic attack and depression. Fun -w-
But, this past saturday was great, got to see my gf, and she stayed the night (she was gonna go home, but something was putting her off and not making her comfortable to drive). And since then it's been pretty uphill. She started a job at a place that makes coffee customization machines

I started streaming to twitch, as evident by recent posts, and is in this journal cause it's a livestream, things happen...live :P
But really, it's been so much fun to stream now that I have a computer setup that can handle it. After Pohatu, I want to do a "themed" stream, where there's a gimmick of sorts. Special comms, or possible open-ended requests (aka: give me a character request, then I draw them how I want). I'm seriously so excited, the only downside being that music, for VOD purposes, is very limited, nsfw is completely off the table, and I'm still quiet in front of a camera (seriously, I have chat open, I will gladly chat back)
If y'all have ideas for stream stuffs, let me know, I'd love to hear them

Work is going good, I'm becoming more and more reliable with finish painting and sanding. Makes me happy, since my skills in the trades were little to less than none

I bought a backlit keyboard! A Razer one with the programable lights, so now I have this green/blue/purple aurora borealis effect. Still trying to figure out the audio meter layer, cause I wanna listen to music and let my keyboard go nuts

I say this in light of having to file a dmca on DA because of someone using my art as a story image without my permission.

Saw the pokemon announcements video, and I gotta say...meh.

For the record, D/P/Pt (and gen 4 in general) are my least favourite games in the whole series. The dex was bland and full of 'mon with just 1 evolution, the level curve wasn't great and worse in Platinum, and the exp gain was nightmarish, on top of just being so. damn. slow. And wtf kind of story is it even? Tired apathetic man creates a cult to remake the universe...by having his grunts stealing honey...and people complain about the XY story, yet there's that. And then there's the fans. I don't mean the people who casually like it, I mean the die-hard "SINNOH IS BEST REGION, EVERYTHING ELSE SUCKS BY COMPARISON" type fans. Like, first off, please quiet yourself. Second, I understand those games brought pokemon to the DS systems. I understand D/P were probably your first games. I understand every game has flaws or bland designs. But ffs, the games aren't this infallible golden-idol-esque godly thing you praise it as. I started late playing XY, but gen 5 is my overall fave gen of games, and I wish they got a little more love than they do. But I'm not gonna scream to the heavens and masses that no other games are as good as them, or that they're flawless gems. I think this applies to genwunners and other people that're like "everything after X isn't original anymore" too, but I see this a lot as of late with the Sinnoh games.

Now, ranting aside, back to the update.

I think the reaction to the update was as follows:
"Well, New Snap sure does exist. Wait, YES! SINNOH REMA-wait, what's with the chibis? I mean I guess that's cool. Wait wait, what's...OH MY GOOOD, OPEN WORLD/BOTW POKEMOOOOON!!!"

Seriously, I feel like Legends: Arceus just stole the show, and will absolutely overshadow the remakes as time goes on. Myself, I don't care about Snap. It exists, but not really catching my interest. The remakes, I might get one so I can see what, if anything, gets majorly improved. But L:A actually looks interesting to me, and I'll definitely be keeping my eye on it.

Anyone excited for one or more games?

So, with work taking more of my energy lately, I've been drawing/sketching more on the weekends, the exception being the good days where I find a bit of energy to do something. So, what's in the works:

- Finishing up the raffle grand prize! Had a mini motivation block when lining, but that's what happens when there's lots of details to draw by hand and not able to copy/paste
- An icon. I have the details, I like the adopted character (maple leaf tail leafeon)
- 2nd trade, which hopefully won't be another motivation block for whatever reason
- 1 ask...I want to get at least 1 done, as it's been awhile

After that, I plan to do some personal art and a new adopt batch, not sure what order, but both will eventually happen. And as far as adopts, might be pokemon, might not be, who knows
