Posted 14 years agoSo yesterday at work I was asked to join a different team because the rest of the members on that team likes the way I work and the results I give. Its pretty awesome to have all the team members in another team ask that you join the their group. As cool as this is, I'm not jumping on the opportunity right out. There are some pros and cons to taking this position that have me pretty weary about it.
Pros.
~I'll no longer be taking inbound calls from customers(I would love to get off the phones).
~A lot less stress.
~Not having to work under a manager that "micro manages".
~I'll be working more with our Operations Team and the servers(not on the servers, but closer than I am now).
~No longer have to do shift bids, my schedule will be set.
~Better chances to get time off for vacation(or in my case furcons)
~Holidays off, *IF* I work a holiday, I'd be getting double pay.
~$200 bonus a month(This is kind of needed ATM)
~Possibility of getting an extra $1 an hour(for reasons explained below).
Cons.
~Its night shift, I won't get off till 10am(This is why I might get the extra $1 an hour). This is my biggest issue, or rather my only issue with this. This will utterly destroy my social life! I had spent 5 of my 6 years at Wal Mart working night shift and hated every moment of it.
*EDIT* the hours will be 1:45pm to 10:15pm, so its a swing shift. Just as social life killing as Nights.
~I will be working Sunday night to Thursday night(Meaning Friday night and Saturday night will be my weekend).
*EDIT* I'm trying to see if I can get Sat and Sun off
As you can see, there are more Pros than Cons here, but the Cons are pretty fucking hefty IMO. This is a much quieter shift with not a whole lot going on phone call wise, enough work comes in via web submissions, but there is a lot more "down time"(for a lack of a better term). This "down time" I could fill with learning other skills that could potentially get me into another job that pays more and works with "bankers hours".
So really, I'm just wanting to see what you all think. I'm not asking you all what I should do, just what your opinion on the subject is. I'm pretty sure that I'm gonna do it as I need the money.

1. Who did you last get angry with? Most recently I was angry with myself. I'm very much my own worst enemy.
2. What is your weapon of choice? A staff
3. Would you hit a member of the opposite sex? Only in self defense.
4. How about of the same sex? If the need presented itself and I felt I needed to, yes.
5. Who was the last person who got really angry at you? Besides myself, I honestly don't know... People are rarely angry with me.
6. What is your pet peeve? The human condition
7. Do you keep grudges, or can you let them go easily? Its really hit and miss for me, but for the most part I can let them go after some time.
SLOTH
1. What is one thing you're supposed to do daily that you haven't done in a long time? I should be studying SQL so I can work on getting out of Tech. Support.
2. What is the latest you've ever woken up? 1PM
3. Name a person you've been meaning to contact, but haven't: My father.
4. What is the last lame excuse you made? "Sorry, Traffic sucks today!"
5. Have you ever watched an infomercial all the way through (one of the long ones...)? Yes, more times than I care to admit to.

GLUTTONY

4. Have you ever used a professional diet company? Nope, there are no diet companies geared towards fixing my weight problems
5. Do you have an issue with your weight? Yes, very much so! I hate being this scrawny.

Posted 14 years agoI'm in need of 3 roommates for RainFurrest this year! I have a room in the Hilton from from the 22nd(Thursday) to the 25th(Sunday)
The room is on the fursuit floor and has pool access.
If i have 4 people total in my room, it will be about $130 per head, 3 people will be about $160.
I will be bringing booze and plan on drinking for most of the con, with that said I encourage anyone staying in my room to do the same, but I don't want people getting so drunk they are getting sick. Responsible drinkers only please. Small drinking gatherings are fine as well.
NO DRUG USE IN THE ROOM! I don't mind if you smoke some pot and are high in the room, just don't do it the room.
Like I said above, I have a fursuit room and fursuits are more than welcome! As I have a fursuit room, I'd rather have suiters take the room slots.
This will also be a yiff friendly room, I have no qualms with walking into my room to find some "Playtime" going on, hell, I may want to join! XD
I also would like the room to stay nice and tidy, being able to see my floor is a big deal for me.

Yes, yes I am, though I don’t think of myself as a typical furry, I hold a job that is a big stepping stone in my life. I am working to better myself so that I may provide for myself and be a contributing member of society.

One of my best friends was showing me art work on DA when he stumbled upon some furry art. He then went on a tangent on how much he hates “fuzzies”

The openness, there is no need to hide who you are in this community.

Not sure. It varies between people but it's mostly just a fun place to make friends. I have met a lot of interesting people due to having one nebulous thing in common. Furry is a conversation starter. A way to bring dissimilar people together. ←I’ll have to stick with that, as it is an amazing answer and its what I, myself believe.

Blind prejudice annoys me, but, everyone has their opinions and right to share them. So these bashers and furry haters, they really just annoy the piss out of me. In the end, as long as nothing comes of it, I really don’t care.
*How strongly do you feel about anyone bashing you yourself for your interest based on the media's aspect of what furry is?
If anyone is into 'bashing' me, then my association with them is finished. I don’t know how to answer this one really, mainly because I just don’t know! I’ve always felt that I’ve had a connection with cougars that I couldn’t explain, and its not something I have ever shared. LOL still living at home with my Mom and Brother
2) What was your status by Valentine’s Day?
Taken, was the first Vday I've ever been taken!
3) Were you in school anytime this year?
Nope, can't say that I was!
4) How did you earn your money?
I made a small amount at my full time job at Wal Mart, but I was able to quite and get a real job! :D
5) Did you have to go to the hospital?
Just for some testing, nothing broken or anything like that
6) Did you have any encounters with the police?
Nope, i did towards the end of '09, was kinda caught longboard in one of the parking garages on the UW campus! :P
7) Would you relive 2010 over and over again?
Some of it, maybe, but for the most part, I'd rather not revisit it.
8) What did you purchase that was over $1000?
in the year 2010....nothing

nope
