Question Regarding a Book I’m Writing
General | Posted a year agoPurely hypothetical. Of course.
Let’s say I have a main character who would benefit from character development the most. A natural process that happens overtime with the characters most in need of it typically being the points of view throughout the book(s), where having that PoV allows for an easier time developing the character.
Now, let’s say I didn’t do that and instead I wanted to try developing their character (who again, needs it the most) through the perspectives of the other main characters. The character in question would have a slow, gradual development, but it would be conceivable with every book, from the first to the last, until it finally comes to an end along with the narrative. So the reader would come to understand this character more with each PoV they experience, in addition to seeing those PoV characters’ thoughts and opinions of said character change over time.
I feel like this approach could be interesting, but I’m curious to see what others think.

More Writing Things
General | Posted a year agoI realize I’ve talked a lot about the fact that I write in the past, and I’ve mentioned a little bit of what I write, but I’ve never really talked about the world I’ve created for the series I intend to create.
I call it Esthaire. It’s a world where the dominant species are dragons, split up into tribes of (originally) eight. Earth, Fire, Ice, Light, Lightning, Shadow, Water, and Wind make up the first tribes. In addition to these tribes, there are also seven Heirs (deities, basically)—the Lightning and Wind tribes share an Heir, hence why there’s only seven.
In the thousands of years since the inception of these tribes, entire new ones have formed through hybridization. I call these the modern tribes. So there’s the ancient (the original) eight tribes, and the modern tribes that have spawned from them.
Although the Heirs are essentially deities to their respective tribes, they do not rule them. Instead, the tribes all have traditional monarchies, ruled by a queen. This includes the modern tribes. The Heirs themselves interfere as little as possible with their tribes.
The Heirs exist to be worshipped, for the most part. Or so they’re supposed to. Though they still formed relations with dragons from their tribes, and the resulting offspring, who I am [for now] calling Demi-heirs, inherited—and passed down—the same power as their parent Heir. Though it is a recessive gene, and extremely rare to be inherited in an active state.
In this world I’ve created, there exists a darkness created to oppose the Heirs. It lurks in the shadows, spreads at night, but retreats at first light. How it came to be is a mystery, not unlike the Heirs themselves, but what it creates are simple-minded monstrosities.
In whatever form my series takes, this darkness, its monstrosities, and those who take advantage of its simple-minded malleability, will be the opposing force to the protagonists.
There’s not much more I want to say this soon.
Oh, and I also write fanfiction, but anyone interested enough to read this journal all the way to this point probably already knows that. Right now I’m working on Spyro fanfiction. I just finished chapter 1 last night, and I’ll be uploading it sometime soon. So keep an eye out for that if you feel so inclined.

My Discord (Again)
General | Posted a year agoIt’s been almost a year since I made the last journal about my Discord. Not much has changed since then, but I figured I should make a new one. In case the old link no longer works or whatever other reason there might be to do so.
I did decide (at least for now) that I will link all of my in-progress and finished writing projects as I write them. So all my new projects will be linked alongside my old ones. Meaning anyone is more than welcome to read my works in progress live, since they’re Google Docs.
Anyway, here’s the link:

Fanfiction
General | Posted 2 years agoI started working a little more seriously on chapter 1 of my TLoS fanfiction, since I hit a bit of a creative brick wall with my original series, and I realized I could've tried a little harder with the prologue I've already posted. I'm not too worried about it, since I'm trying to take fanfiction writing significantly less serious than I do my original content writing, but I may still rewrite the prologue in the future if I feel too disconnected to it. You never really lose that feeling of "but it could be better" and I'm no exception. We'll see. Either way, I am working on chapter 1, so if I stay as consistent as I was last night, it might be up soon.
Call Out
General | Posted 2 years agoNo, I’m not the kind of person who makes a post online to their nonexistent follower base trying to ruin someone’s life. Some people deserve that, some don’t. It feels like these days, most victims of a call out don’t, and once again, such is the case.
This isn’t a call out. This is an apology.
I’m sorry on behalf of the kind of people who do make call outs, and who do victimize people who have done no wrong. I’m sorry if you have been the victim of a call out that was unwarranted, unprecedented, and, such as with the case that has spawned this journal, fucking stupid. I apologize to anyone who has been called out for drawing, admiring, commissioning, or in this case even just being friends with someone who has, any form of NSFW art featuring a quadrupedal dragon.
Yes, these are the people who have been called out. At least three of them. In the same call out post with at least two people who have actual disgusting allegations, artists have been called out for drawing art with adult, consenting, intelligent, and speech capable dragons on the basis of those dragons being quadrupedal. Consumers who do no more than commission such art have been called out alongside them.
So this apology goes out to anyone else who has been on the receiving end of an undeserved call out, whether public, private, or otherwise. If anyone has ever given you shit for something to do with a quadrupedal dragon, then I am sorry. You deserve an apology, and I hope mine can offer you some solace.
I will not link anything. I will not name names. I will do no more than inform people that a call out has been made, a call out that most people reading this will be a victim of. And for that, I repeat, I am sorry.
In honor of you, yes you, Jeremy, I will contribute more NSFW art of quadrupedal dragons. I will commission more NSFW art of quadrupedal dragons. I will create more NSFW literature of quadrupedal dragons (that’s all I can personally contribute). I will continue to roleplay NSFW scenes as and with quadrupedal dragons. In honor of anyone who has been made a victim by this ridiculous call out targeting anyone who appreciates NSFW quadrupedal dragons such as myself, I will do these things with pride.
I do this because you do not deserve to be victimized by an attention seeking idiot. You deserve more NSFW quadrupedal dragon art, stories, and roleplay. You deserve all the quadrupedal dragons in exposing, revealing, and sexual situations you can imagine, and as a part of this fandom, goddamn it that’s what you will have.
I dedicate the next of my NSFW quadrupedal dragon smut to you, yes you, Keith, you filthy degenerate. I love you.
And to anyone who has, is considering, or intends to call someone out on the grounds that said person appreciates sexy quadrupedal dragons, fuck you. Your mentality sucks and I do not love you. I’m calling you out.
Edit: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I forgot to make a journal.

About My Discord
General | Posted 2 years agoI may or may not have forgotten to set the link in my last journal to never expire, and by may, I mean I did.
The link has now been updated to not expire, so if you tried to join before and weren’t able to, now it should work.

Discord Server
General | Posted 2 years agoI have a Discord server now. Another one. A server that I won’t give up on this time as I have the two iterations before it, thus the name. I feel confident enough in its potential now, what with how close I am to having several reasons for utilizing it, that I’m making it public today.
With that said, it is unfinished right now. I copied a template I made a long time ago and have essentially a complete server, but without the nuances of a complete server. I’m in the process of setting up the bots I want and a few remodels here and there as I establish the kind of architecture I want.
It’s themed after a settlement set in the world I’ve created, Esthaire, which is where the name comes from. I’ll happily discuss lore related to my projects and scatter a few independent snippets throughout the server through channel topics and other means.
In the future, I intend to use this server to post literature works in progress, as well as links to my finished projects, as I would on Furaffinity. I also stream on Twitch fairly often and upload the vods to YouTube somewhat regularly (I’ve kind of slacked off in that recently), and will have unobtrusive notifications for both for anyone interested.
Starting tomorrow (for a limited time), I’ll be putting the links to two of my WIPs in this server, so that anybody who’d like to see what I’m working on will have the ability to do so. I’ve already posted a teaser here for the novella I’m writing, but anyone interested will be able to see the full draft as I’m editing it. The second is an erotic fanfiction I recently started featuring Spyro and Cynder. I shudder at the thought of writing fanfiction again, but smut is smut. It’s not far along, but I’m directing most of my writing attention to it, so there should be more to see in the coming days.
With all that said, if you’d like to join, here you go.

Wow
General | Posted 3 years agoSorry, but the title is a pun.
I recently built myself a computer, much to my surprise. A lot of my free time since has gone into playing games I never had the opportunity to, and replaying some that I have for the sake of modding and 144 FPS. Even more recently, I tried out World of Warcraft. . . . And that was a mistake. I am obsessed now — with Dragonflight and all the old content, too.
I knew about WoW before, of course, but I was convinced I wouldn’t like it. I had the pleasure of learning bits and pieces of lore that I found interesting, and I had a feeling I would love to see more personally, but I believed with 100% certainty that the combat would be impossible for me to overlook. That it would bring down my experience so much that I wouldn’t be able to enjoy the rest of the game. Not only was I wrong, but I actually ENJOY the combat. As someone who spent my entire life on console until now, I never fathomed a game like WoW consuming my attention so completely.
None of this is important information — I’m just ranting. I’m making this journal to say that I most likely (99.9%) will not be uploading anything to do with my current writing endeavor this year, as much as I hoped to get even just a teaser out. And you know, I’m not that upset about it. I managed to achieve a lot this year, and after struggling so long with Writer’s Block or whatever it came down to, that feels good. My intended writing style changed, reverted slightly, and then changed again as I improved (in my opinion), and my progress has reflected that. As it stands, I’m about 45% done with the edit I’m doing now, and then I intend to do one last edit after that to iron out whatever I leave myself to do later. I’ll also try to smooth out the styles so it’s all consistent and more “professional”. Honestly, it shouldn’t take too long if I can fix my schedule and get it back to how it was before WoW, but knowing me, that might be a while.
That’s all I really have to say. It’s been a good year; for art, for writing, and for my personal gaming experience. I started and finished a lot of really good games, with Elden Ring being at the very top. The entire Mass Effect trilogy (which I played through twice this year) being a close second, I think I can say. I am, to put it nowhere near accurately enough, VERY excited for 2023. Excited for the games that will come, and most of all, to finally show you what I’ve been working on all this time.
. . .

Another Writing Update
General | Posted 3 years agoI’ve taken several months away from my work at this point, which does not make me happy, but despite that, I’ve still made progress. Negligible progress compared to the strives I was making before, but it’s progress nonetheless. I’m up to 12k+ words, which when you consider that’s only an additional thousand odd words, it sounds like even less progress than what I made it out to be. But the bulk of my work since the previous update has been editing.
I’ve done a soft edit just to make sure everything is cohesive, and now I’m doing a hard edit to make sure everything is the highest quality I can possibly make it, which is taking considerably longer. My slow (shoddy at best) editing in addition to further learning and that long, long break/loss of motivation I’m still somewhat suffering from — and things are taking longer than anticipated.
This year has been one of pleasant surprises, but major setbacks. That said, I still strongly believe I will be done with this one thing before the end of the year. I want to be, and I will try my hardest to get there. I refuse to go another year with nothing to show for my efforts. To some extent, I have plenty already to show, and have shown to select or curious individuals.
I’m considering posting an unedited excerpt of around 3k words. A teaser, if you will. So people can finally get an idea of what I’m working on, and because the section I have in mind is semi-relevant to the time of year. Halloween, that is. Ultimately, we’ll see if I do, but right now, it’s looking like I might.
For anyone who made it this far; thank you.

Where I'm At In Terms Of Writing
General | Posted 3 years agoI've been writing a lot on and off the last few weeks. As it stands in the middle of the revision stage of things, I'm currently at 11k+ words for the first in a set of three short stories I have planned. These three will set the foundation for a much larger project that I want to work on, which is still a long way from being started properly. The one I'm working on now will introduce you to a dragon, Sin, who has reached the very end of his rope and is desperately trying to hang on to it. Through his eyes, as he attempts to right wrongs, you will learn a few things about the world I've created and a handful of its plethora of concepts, with yet more being alluded to for another time. Most of what you will be able to gauge from it will have significance later — in the project I mentioned before. There may be some things hinted at in part one that won't be explained in as much detail until a later time, in a future set of stories, and will instead be left for the reader to interpret for the time being. I have to walk a fine line between revealing enough information to satisfy curiosity while withholding enough information to offer surprise later. I won't pretend I'm a professional at this kind of thing (obviously, I'm not), but I'm working hard to do it as well as I can anyway.
It might still be some time before I show anything, or it could happen next week. I only know one thing for sure; that another year won't go by where I have nothing to show for my efforts. All I've wanted for a long time is to finish something finally, and I'm so close now. I'm excited to be able to share it with the world, and I hope that others can enjoy it with me. Thank you for giving me that opportunity.
