Comicon International
General | Posted 13 years agoIm pondering the idea of going to Comicon Internation next July or San Diego Comicon as Im told its also called.
Its just Im always bored at Anthrocon because Im just not into drinking or dancing. Really Anthrocon is the same thing every time I go and Im craving something more entertaining.
Been very curious about comicon as I heard just about every company into gaming and comic books is there. Plus I keep hearing about all the neat freebies being given away.
So my question is what is comiccon like? Im a little nervous at the idea of going to such a large convention. What is it like there as a furry? Safe to wear a tail ect?

Need cell phone opinions
General | Posted 13 years agoThinking about getting a Samsung Galaxy S III, from what I have seen its getting very good reviews. Been wanting to get into the modern age and try texting. Also been wanting a phone that is hot spot enabled so I can use it to get my lap top and other devices online well not home. Mainly I liked this phone because its large so thinking it will be easier to use for simple web surfing and texting.
Im wondering tho should I go with the standard 16 GB phone or go for the 32 GB phone?

Need Fursuit advice
General | Posted 13 years agoIm feeling drawn to fursuting yet Im torn feeling I will only be satisfied with a highly realtistic suit. Yet Im a little relucant to spend that kind of money lol!
And then there is the part of having nightmares over some little kid with grape jelly hands touching said expensive suit lol! As I fear I would come to love such a suit perhaps a little too much and become overly worried about it becoming stained by such contact...
So Im wondering is it better to go with a lower priced toony style suit that I might not like as much?
Second issue is I wonder if I even go to furcons enough to think about having a suit to begin with and yet Im wanting one.

Finally at four pm
General | Posted 13 years agoFinally got that phone call I have been waiting all week for, my face to face interview is today 4pm. Am so nervous I felt as if I was going to throw up for a moment just now lol!
So a key question I know Im going to be asked....."What will you do if you get an angry customer, and how will you handle it?" They want to know what your response will be and they are trying to see that you are going to do the best that the customer can get to have a better experience.

Im a bit confused why that Boomer the dog person is even talked about in a news story that was ment to focus on Anthrocon lol!
Also found it odd how no mention of this news piece was spoke of on the Anthrocon forums.

A Dog's Tale
General | Posted 13 years agoJust finished watching this movie about a boy who makes a wish and ends up a dog, a german shepherd. Well the movie was a bit corny and all the transformation happens sadly off camera I rather liked the movie.
Oh advice of a friend I signed up to netflix and have slowly been working my way threw their collection ::grin::
Rosario + Vampire is another amusing watch about a human boy who ends up at a college for monsters. Him and his vampire girl friend battle a different monster each show...oddly for a Japese show it took them a while to get to a fox demon but it was a full feral four legged fire fox. Sadly the fire fox was not on for very long. There is also a werewolf with tail and digigrade stance who seems to be more a second string character.

Many years ago while talking in a transfur chat room I told the room about my going to Anthrocon. I of course never dreamed anyone would wish to meet up at the convention. So imagion my extreme surprise when well at the convention my phone rings. Now Im not overly social so I can count on one paw those who know my cell number....It took me a few moments to figure out who had called me lol! And even longer to find each other at the maze Anthrocon Philly was. For those not in the know the Adams Mark hotel in Philly had a split level first floor that made it tricky meeting up.
Anyway to make a long story short Provo basicly looked as if he had just stepped out of an office building on lunch break. He was very wide eyed and almost shaking with nervousness, very stiff. And funny enough seeing someone else nervous helped me not be nervous as I often struggle meeting new people. It often amazes me to see the Provo now and remember the Provo then, the two are so vastly different and yet the same. And now we see Provo running a pannel at Anthrocon...Just makes me laugh some thinking of him back then being so nervous and scared around fursuiters.

General | Posted 13 years agoHopeful new dawn
General | Posted 13 years agoMight be changing jobs soon, the company I applied for had me fill out a more detailed job app so Im hopeful. its become a very needful thing. Working graveyards has been difficult for both my family and my social life.
My current job well its forty hours I have more of a conversation with the newspaper vendors then I do my own coworkers. I just dont feel a connection with my coworkers even when I do try to have a conversation it tends to turn into me doing all the talking and them head nodding. Im just not sure what is with the people who work here. As shy as I am I have tried to be social. A lady who was very out going and chatty was told not to come back. It seems her need to constantly talk got on the supers nerves.
Im feeling a change is needful and have been a bit excited at the idea as well as a bit nervous. As change of course is a bit scary, the great unknown. And yet the term nothing ventured nothing gained comes to mind. I have advanced and learned as much as I can at the current job and now have out grown it. Also am eager to escape from the midnight shift, the company I applied for does not have a midnight shift. Just getting to sleep normal hours to me is worth the 40 min comute to work.
And of course there is the possibly I might happen to make a few new friends once I change jobs. I have been pondering going to one of the local fur meets but I fear what would happen is I say hi they say hi then the painful silence begins...

For your amusment my major skeleton from the past. Yes I was once ::gasp:: a muck wizard. Yes I know I was truely insane back then...unbeleivable naive and super trusting. So yes it was perhaps looking back on that just a matter of time before I had such bad experices I am still haunted to this day by the memories.
The year was 1989...I had recently discovered all that is the furry fandom and unwisly opened that Pandora's box so wide I fell in lol! I day dreamed of how great it would be if I could turn into a dog...Hey no laughing I orignally wanted to be a wolf but well...dog seemed to be more me. I was super shy even online and still struggling with the very idea of calling myself a ::gasp:: furry. I heard of an online place where people role played as dogs and wolves but I was just too shy to try it. The place was called Baltomuck and by the time I got ready to give mucks a try Balto muck closed down. So then I ended up at a muck known as Artic Thunder, little did I understand at the time the curse I was setting myself up for ::snicker::
Of course I was still learning how to type back then so my role play was so bad at first I was often poked fun of and teased good naturedly by other players. In time I got to the point I could role play two dogs in the same room and no one was aware both where played by me. I once got into a fight with myself which was funny...my wolf and a few others started a role play of us picking on this border collie bitch and she asked my dog character to come help her lol!

General | Posted 13 years agoAnthrocon crazyness
General | Posted 13 years agoNow I have seen er read everything. Anthrocon did a fundraiser giving a for profit bussiness man twenty one thousand dollars. Why? Because he had put a welcome anthrocon sign out side his sandwhich shop? Im at a loss as I ate at that shop last year and it was nothing special. It looks so shabby I would of never went in the door if not for having a groupon.
Picture a place that once might of been a subway shop years ago and you will be able to picture what the place looks like. I had liked the bacon maple donuts till I learned they bought the donuts and simply added bacon to them.
Besides the donuts who my friends ate most of (lol) I only sampled a foot long roast beef sandwhich at that shop. It was during the lunch rush so everything was fresh in part because the staff where opening food packages as fast as they could. But really the food is not worthy of the endless praise the Anthrocon PR group is going on about.
I think the true claim to fame is the rather lacking choice of cheap places to eat near the convention center. Some furries think nothing of spending a hundred dollars for a sketch yet act horrified at the idea of spending twenty dollars for a nice meal that will keep them full for the day.
Me I simply bought a dozen bagels and snacked on them between breakfast and dinner, one dozen lasted me five days.

Horse trading and new cars
General | Posted 13 years agoI nearly spent the entire day at the Toyota dealership and feel exhausted and partly a little disbeliving I managed to pull this off. I got a 2012 Coralla for two hundred over invoice. Plus I got the dealership to pay three thousand for my 1994 Geo Prism. And talked them into giving me a thousand dollar gas card.
A car is a car
General | Posted 13 years agoSo far Im liking the Toyota Corolla LE tho seems as if fifty percent of the people I know are in love with Honda. Both my parents have a Honda.
Im a bit unsure about the honda civic as first its about a thousand more in price....
and it has an issue with the shift that causes it to upshift early which I found a little distracting from the ride.
Plus the honda is all plasic interor wise so looking very ecomony in my opinion tho on the other paw plasic is easier to clean then cloth.
Im told how honda keeps its value better tho I dont plan to sell it...I have had my current car for eightteen years so Im not sure if a car holding its value really makes much difference.
Could not find my car title so had to pay eighty dollars for a replacement title, the government could at least include a frame for that price lol!

The main focus of the story is a family named Stark, each of the Stark children have a direwolf as a pet.

Time for a new car?
General | Posted 13 years agoFor a long time now I have had to keep one hand on my light switch just to dim the lights when a car was passing....Then I lost the right turn signal which given it was the right did not matter too much. Tho now the lever is fully broken...lose in the shocket all I can do with it is turn the lights on and off. Now when I turn the lights on I can not control the brightness so passing cars shine their brights blinding me for a sec till I pass them...
To replace that plastic lever Im being told it will cost me $550. Im already replacing a hose to the power steering ($168) just so its drivable. But as its a 1994 Im thinking maybe its time to replace the car with a new one....Im not too hopeful of finding the lever in a salvage yard...
The car needs a new paint job but other then that nothing else is wrong with it. 1994 geo prism four door

General | Posted 14 years agoI heard about badges at a convention going for thirty eight dollars and about choked. To me colored or not thats way too much money for something too small for any great level of detail.
As seriously why not just get a full color drawing make a copy of it and then cut it out and wear as a badge?

http://www.flayrah.com/3841/mixed-v.....rians-otherkin
Im curious how real these are as cant help pondering if perhaps the results got "adjusted" I find it very curious how going by this survey there is a drift between therian and furry as to me I have always felt the two are the same. Just that therian was a relabel to hide from the precieved bad parts of furry. And yet any fandom has a sexual side so no use trying to hide it because doing so just makes outsiders think you have some deep dark secret....
Funny enough for years I have been playfully poking fun of friends who called themselves therian....if these survery are true then Im not a furry at all but a therian. Talk about a deep dark secret lol!
