Update
Posted 14 years agoGot home about an hour and a half ago.
My mom had AAA take my car.
I think she's going to get my brother to pay for whatever they do to fix my car up :T
Today has been pretty terrible and stressful, but I appreciate the concern. I took a really nice shower and now I'm going to go to bed.

may not do art tonight. bad stuff happened ):
Posted 14 years agoI was going to finish a couple of commissions tonight after classes but two things just happened:
1. I got into a small accident. I think we're both partially at fault but it's mostly my faultt. I was pulling out of my spot at the school parking lot and the guy try passing me (apparently he didn't see me pulling out) and i ended up scraping his driver's side from the front to the back. (Only my bumper got scratched) :S he was totally cool about it and is not gonna involve the police but I already had another small accident in May and I just can't afford to have my insurance go up...
And 2. My batttery died just as I got on the highway. In fact, I am currently writing this out while on the shoulder. My friend,
is coming to help me. I doubt she'd be able to jump my car though... I need a new battery but I only have about $60 to my name and I can't afford it. It also doesn't help that I'm sitting in a hot car with no working AC. This is all really stressful. I don't know what to do.

TOS: Advice, tips, and suggestions please :)
Posted 14 years agoAs many of you have noticed I've been working hard to finish up my current outstanding commissions! :3 I am constantly updating my journal on the art I owe to show where each commission stands. I am really hoping to get done with everything by the end of next week at the latest!
With that said, I am going to try and work on a TOS. I've been looking around on FA trying to get an idea of what I should put on it and I think I have a pretty good grasp of it. Here are a few examples I've been looking at:
http://fs12.formsite.com/Eskiworks/.....382/index.html
http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1213103/
http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2173226/
These are all good examples though I would still like some help :) if you guys have any thoughts please share! Maybe there's something that all of these are missing that you'd like me to add to my TOS or maybe there are things from one or more of them you'd like me to incorporate into my own TOS. I would really like some opinions ^^
I'm really hoping to have a TOS that benefits both me (Covering my basis etc,.) and my customers (quicker turnaround time!).
Here are somethings I definitely want to include in my TOS:
-A time frame for me to finish commissions by (Three weeks tops maybe?)
-An incentive for me to finish my commissions on time (refund plus a free sketch?)
-I definitely want people to pay up front
-I want to change my policy on mailing things (It costs too much to mail stuff. I should charge..)
-Rights and usage of the image
And, uhm... that's all I have right now. ^^; I think I will also write up a coherent "will" and "will not" draw list. I will also fix my prices and bump them up so that it's more fair for me. I've been underpricing myself too much (:
Thanks for any help in advance! :3

So proud of myself :D
Posted 14 years agoMaaan... I'm so proud of myself. I've gotten so much art done this past week. It feels so good! :D
I feel so motivated and I just have this drive to sit down and work hard on commissions! I hope that once I get my current queue out the way I can take a couple of commissions at a time and actually make some money xD (The majority of the commissions I've been doing and have to do I haven't actually seen a dime of the money as they went to people needier than I) I really need to make money now though since I'm pretty poor now and my current job doesn't pay me enough and I can't even work much due to my and my brother's school schedule ~__~ sooo... need to work hard on my art in between classes and make some money! :)
Also, I've learned that I shouldn't take on more than I could handle. xD when I open for commissions again I won't take a bunch at a time. Just one or two and then I will open more as I finish ^^ I want to get better at giving my customers good service in a timely manner :) this will also allow me to work on personal art without feeling tremendous guilt for not having finished paid artwork. Haah. I really want to work on improving my art and I really want to grow and evolve and commission work really hinders that sometimes.
Wish me luck guys! I'm excited for a bright future art-wise (:

THAT FEELING YOU GET
Posted 14 years agoWHEN YOU FIND WHAT YOU'VE BEEN SEARCHING FOR ON AND OFF FOR THE PAST FIVE OR SO YEARS. (I probably sound so obsessed hahaha)
For the longest time ever I had been searching for this artist. She was someone I used to follow and worship on Neopets. I tried looking up her name on Neopets and google and tried every combination I could think of! Turns out I was completely right on neopets... but her account is long gone ):
The artist in question that I was looking for was called Oasis21/Oddduckoasis. I finally found her after stumbling upon the website "Side7". The site rang a ton of bells for me and I searched for three hours. I found copycats and KNEW I was getting close! And 'lo and behold I found the gem I'd been looking for for so many years:
http://www.side7.com/gallery.cgim?m.....er=odduckoasis
Looking at her art now I find it funny how different yet the same it looks. I was 12 when I had started following her art and 14 when I lost the link to her art. The memories are flooding back to me and the art brings me nostalgic joy :') Sad though, she seems to have been otherwise wiped from the face of the internet. I wonder if she still does art?
Now that I've finally found her art and relived a little of my childhood I can finally lay this search to rest. :D
Now to go back to bed I'm so freakin' tired :C

Fan Art Day!
Posted 14 years agoAs some of you might have noticed, there are people posting all these journals about fan art day. I think it's a GREAT idea! :D This is copied from
's journal:
So I've been seeing a lot of migration on here lately due to various reasons. I completely understand almost all of it, but it's still a little sad when someone leaves, even if I never particularly got along with that person. I'm not really a vehement FA fan myself, but its upsetting because when they leave FA, they (in the collective sense) tend to disassociate with the fandom itself.
So I propose a day of fanart. Let's be completely honest here, there's a lot of furry filth that we deal with as artists that is just completely unmerited. It's the internet, yadda yadda, whatevs. But how about giving something back? We get to see artwork for FREE, where just a little over a decade ago, good, high quality fur-art was something limited exclusively to private collections.
On August 31st, everyone should pick two of their favorite artists and make some appropriate fanart for them.
I say appropriate because I'm pretty sure there's people out there who think that a picture of their character humping someone else's face while they're sleeping would be an acceptable giftart. [Hint: Probably going with 'not so much' on this one.]
The reasoning? Get better at art. Everyone has people who they respect and inspire them. Why not actually DO something about it and learn to make your own art? Don't copy and don't trace.
TLDR;
Rules:
1. Pick two artists. Make fanart by aug 31st.
2. Keep it clean unless that artist likes art of their character otherwise.
3. Don't be a fanboy. Its not about you. It's not about riding someone else's coattail.
4. If it doesn't look good enough, then try again next year. Whole year of extra practice!
5. If they don't say anything on your piece, move on (or if angry, just stop watching them). Don't Dwell. Don't pester.
6. Don't get wierd about this guys.
7. Don't ask for shipping info, just post and share a link. Asking for private details is a no-no.
I have no idea what I will do or if I will even be able to do it, but I am certainly going to try~! :D

4th year anniversary! :D
Posted 14 years agoToday
percavius and I are celebrating our 4th year of being together :3 I can't believe it's been so long! I'm so grateful that we've been able to spend the past three anniversaries together <3 <3
We're going to go to a really fancy restaurant later today. Though, we're just going to get their calamari appetizer. Haha. (: We're cheap but that's okay since we're both poor.
I love him so much <3 <3 Here's to many more years! \o/

Oh yeah, back from camping
Posted 14 years agoIt was crazy fun! Quite a few mishaps and SPLENDID food was eaten almost every day! (I never ate so well before!)
I will make a livejournal about it sometime soon so if you want to look at it here is my LJ: http://silver-pichu.livejournal.com/ (It's an old name that I've had for a long time. I don't really want to change it out of convenience~)
I over came a lot of things and the experience will leave memories that will hopefully last a lifetime :D
NOW TO START WORKING AGAIN.

Going to be gone for about 10 days (:
Posted 14 years agoI'm going camping with Jason, his brother, his brother's girlfriend and his grandma.
We're going there primarily to spread his dad's ashes. (The place we're going to was his favourite place to camp: the mountains)
So I'm going to be gone for about 10 days. If Jason brings his laptop I might hop on every now and then but I don't think it'll be possible for the most part. You guys probably won't miss me too much anyways hahaha.
See you guys later! o/

Because Canada SUCKS right now...
Posted 14 years ago... I will not be able to mail anything for an unknown amount of time.
This is why:
http://edmonton.ctv.ca/servlet/an/l.....b=EdmontonHome
The postal service across Canada has basically shut down and I have to go to the UPS store or Fedex in order to mail things. Unfortunately, it is ridiculously expensive for me. :X So... unless you want to pay an extra $20 I simply cannot afford to mail anything to anybody right now. It just can't be done.
I'm thinking that maybe I should charge for mailing anyways. I mean... for when there isn't a strike and it's just normal price :P Maybe just a few dollars or something like that. I figured I'm losing a lot of money by just mailing things to people for free. It's just not fair to me.
The people I've promised free shipping will still get free shipping. After that though... I am going to charge for it. :x I should probably make a TOS or something relating to that. It would make things easy for me.
EVERY TIME I come to Canada there is a STRIKE.
This time is personally affects me.
WHHYYY.
Also, I hope I can still get home when I'm supposed to because Air Canada is ALSO on strike. :I

Ngghh, this poor girl needs help ;w;
Posted 14 years agohttp://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2427698/
Jeez, her family is having it pretty bad. She certainly needs the money way more than I do :C
She's doing name your own price commissions and seems to be doing anything at any price.
I found out her paypal is: coloriffic[at]live.com
So I highly recommend donating if you're only going to give a few dollars (Or just donate a bunch of money 'cause you're a nice person), but if you're gonna commission her I hope you give a generous amount :3

I FEEL SO DIRTY
Posted 14 years agoI am the kind of person who hates to wear the same shirt more than once unless I'm sleeping in it. I also hate wearing jeans after a certain point in time (otherwise, it's alright to wear them multiple times before a wash)
BUT NGGGGGHHHHH.
The washing machine and dryer here at my boyfriend's are shitty and broken and will destroy my clothes :||| I haven't washed my clothes since I've been here and I've been here since the 21st? Aaaaurgh! I feel so dirty D:
GUESS I HAVE TO TAKE IT LIKE A MAN. >:C
Also, laundromat is freakin' expensive. ;;

List of art I owe and I could use some tips ;w;
Posted 14 years agoI figured I should make a list of all the art I owe in the order in which they were put on my queue (Or the order in which I THINK they were put in my queue):
1. flat colour full body for
-Paid (Outlining)
2. couple lines for
-Paid (Need to sketch)
3. Badge and icon for
-Paid (Need to sketch)
4. Traditional picture for
- Not Paid
5. Sketchpage for
- Paid
6. Sketchpage for
- Paid
If you're not up here please let me know! This is quite the list for me and I feel pretty bad that I've let it get so long. :C I am trying to rectify that while in Canada and next time, I won't take on so much stuff at once.
This list will be mostly completed in order. I am going to try and finish the most outstanding ones first. That is my main goal. Currently one of them resides back at home and I hope that
has sent it or will be sending it to me soon aaaahhh.
Thanks everyone for being so patient with me ;w; It's really nice not to feel so pressured. But but... don't be afraid to poke and prod me for information on your sketch or to poke and prod me to FINISH IT. Especially the people who have already paid. You guys have the most right to do so and I totally don`t mind prodding. In fact, it really helps me get into gear when you guys are like, "Hey! How's my commission doing?" Just be polite about it please :3
Also... was wondering if you guys had any tips on how to better manage owed artwork? Or any advice on handling commissions better? I was also wondering how I can help myself feel more motivated about doing artwork. :C I think one of my biggest problems is that I find it hard to feel motivated to do some of the artwork I owe. I dunno. Any help would be very much appreciated :3
Thanks for being awesome guys <3

In financial trouble: maybe sketchbook auction?
Posted 14 years agoSoo... due to several setbacks and horrible luck, I've lost pretty much over $1000. I am probably going to lose even more due to some of the situation not being resolved quite yet. While I may not be put in the negatives, I am probably going to end up losing 3/4th of everything in my bank account. None of this doesn't even include the large amount of money I owe my boyfriend .__. (though, fortunately, he is not expecting me to pay him back soon)
Despite all of this, I am VERY reluctant to open up commissions due to the artwork I already owe. (Though, I do plan on buckling down and finishing everything I owe while at my boyfriend's house. I will have no excuse NOT to finish everything because I will have more free time than I will know what to do with.)
But I was thinking (after looking at someone else doing this)... what would you guys think of a sketchbook auction?
Selling a sketchbook would be nice and I wouldn't have to worry about having it done so soon because it does kind of take a lot of work and time to finish a skethbook. It would not be as stressful as a one picture deal. (In my opinion at least.)
What I was thinking it would have:
- fun little doodles
- sketches
- headshots
- drawings
- inked drawings of all sorts
- coloured works (marker and pencil)
- Collab work? (I might make my boyfriend do some stuff. He's an excellent artist, I promise. And he wouldn't do much since it's supposed to be a sketchbook from ME)
Those are stuff I can think of now. I am not sure what else to add! If you have other ideas, please tell me.
The sketchbook would probably be about 50 or so pages. Whatever I can find. And it can either be with brown or white paper (I loooove love love brown paper.)
Obviously the sketchbook would have at least one of the buyer's characters, but what should I do in the case of more than one character? I'm not sure how to fit that in so that it is still fair to me. Thoughts and opinions please!
I would preferably like to not be instructed what to draw in every page of the sketchbook, but perhaps I should allow the buyer to ask for certain things that they would like included in the book?
I'm not sure if I should do back and front of the pages. Maybe that can be up to my own discretion?
My boyfriend is also suggesting I do a reserve price if I do this. I think it is a good idea. I have very few watchers and I'm not popular AT ALL. I want something that is fair to me and will actually HELP my situation, not make things worse by stressing me out to do a lot of work on a sketchbook for only $25.
Aaahh! Please tell me what you think guys ;; Thanks a lot <3
EDIT: Here's an idea of what some pages MIGHT look like. There can always be requested formats I guess:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1817010/sketchbook1.jpg - Random doodling and headshots
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1817010/sketchbook2.jpg - Headshots, full bodies

Posted 14 years agoAmnesia: The Dark Descent
Posted 14 years agoFirst of all, I would like to apologize for my spotting absence. I should be a LITTLE more active now.
What was keeping my attention from FA for the past two weeks (and letting my messages pile high. Aaahhhh) was the game called Amnesia: The Dark Descent
Seriously... if you want to shit your pants and never sleep at night, this is the game for you. I played it with a friend (non-furry, gasp!). Though...not because I was too scared to. I promised him we'd play it together, so we did. Even though I wasn't alone, it was STILL scary as crap. There were nights where I couldn't play for longer than 20 minutes before I had to tell him I couldn't do it that night. It was a thrill ride from the start to the finish.
I highly recommend this game! It is unlike other horror games in that it really focuses on the survival part of the game. There is no combat (ie., no guns) and it's so easy to immerse yourself in the game. There were even parts where I made the main character, Daniel, go into the corner of a room, crouch, and move around as if he was rocking back and forth 'cause I WAS SO SCARED AND THAT IS WHAT I WOULD'VE DONE IN REAL LIFE.
I finally beat the game recently though. I even played and beat Justine mode. (Over and over again since I kept dying and when you die in Justine you have to start from the beginning! Aaah!) There were many parts in both games where I was shouting and making noises out of fear. Oh god. IT WAS AWESOME.

commissioners and people i owe art to...
Posted 14 years agoTomorrow is the first day I have essentially had off in a long time.
I was wondering if anyone would like to schedule times I could stream their art? The times I could stream are as follows:
1-2:30 pm EST
3:30-1AM EST (I have a doctors appointment at 2:45 heh)
Please note or comment here if you'd like me to stream your art work. I am not saying I will be streaming non-stop or exactly these times though. just giving a time frame for possible streaming!
Thanks~

Plans for future streams with commissioners!
Posted 14 years agoDue to the success of the stream I held tonight, I think I will make it a point to stream art that I owe people as much as possible. At least... digital art that I owe people. It would be so hard to stream traditional work, sorry. ^^;
Anyways, the stream really made me feel good and productive. I got a lot of input from the commissioner (
) and I think it made a lot of difference in how the artwork came out! She was pleased, my watchers were pleased and I was pleased. Streaming seemed to kick me to work harder, better and more efficiently. I strived to put out quality work and it was nice.
I will be noting commissioners within the next 24 hours or so asking about times they may be available for streaming. I think having set times that I will stream artwork would benefit both me and my commissioners. My turnaround time is, quite frankly, HORRIBLE. Sooo... maybe this will help me work at what I owe and help the commissioner have an almost guaranteed date they'll receive finished work (:
Thank you, everyone!
