Back like a weird recurring dream.
Just popping in occasionally because otherwise this page is like the old perpetual "Under Construction" .gif'd Geocities or MySpace pages, resplendent in their HTML and sparkling pixel art. I'm not sure why, but here we still are, just kinda like life in general, and as long as I draw breath I might as well poke around and make weird stuff, right? Now I've sorted some things out with myself and life during the last decade, it's interesting coming back every once in a while to check on who's still alive and kickin'. Fewer and fewer these days, that I knew of old, but that's life.
It's been a good decade, hope the next will be even better for you.

Fall Cleaning
Posted 13 years agoJust thought I'd post a notification beforehand, but I plan on deleting some of my older, jankety-er pieces from my gallery here before the end of the next month or so.
It always really bothered me when art would disappear from an artist's gallery with no warning, so I figured I'd at least give heads-up to anyone who wanted to save backups, petition for me to keep one piece or another, or what have ye.

Dangerous Deficit (Free Commissions for a limited time)
Posted 14 years agoSo, I live in a place where there's some mad partying on occasion. Sometimes it's wild and crazy drunken fiestas (hosted by my house-mates), others's it's ponies and cupcakes (mine! X3). Last weekend was the former, and was so 'successful' that we all ended up gruffly ordered onto the cold front porch with flashing red and blue lights lining the street, and the neighbors all craning to see what those wacky kids were up to this time. Not my idea of a fun party, but hey, apparently it's some people's thing.
In short, I (and my housemates) have a pretty hefty ticket.
What to do, what to do? Me and my house-mates have canvassed our options, anywhere from prostituting ourselves to starting up our own maid cafe / host club. As you may have guessed by the previously stated range of options, so far we've got nothing worthwhile.
That being said, I had the brilliant idea of starting up some commissions to help fill our failing finances and supplement our slightly slippery situation.
BUT with a twist. I figured I'd entice some interested individuals by opening up my commissions with a sweet deal.
Would anyone be interested in some free commissions by this here fellow?
If so, just say that you would in the comments section of this journal, and send me a note with what you're interested in. You can find some examples of my chosen media and subjects within my gallery, but don't be afraid to ask for something new! (Don't worry about it ahead of time, I'll just say then if it happens to be beyond my capacity) The order I receive them in will help determine the order that I complete them in. We'll negotiate particulars in the note, and when it comes to production, I'll do my best to be timely and professional. Also, I'll make another journal or modify the title of this one when I get enough work on my paws already, so take advantage of the free stuff while you can (like convention swag, or free refills at restaurants).
The idea of the whole thing is that this free commission spree will hopefully garner enough interest to spark some full commissions in the future.

Off the deep end? Real Love, Fake Self
Posted 14 years agoI dreamt I fell sincerely in love with a cardboard cutout.
I don't even recall what it was of, but I'm pretty sure it was of a fictional character.
Then I woke up, and realized how depressing my dream really was.
It sounds really weird, but it's not totally unexpected when I mull it over. I know this feeling well now, the disappointment of feeling connected emotionally with, or even attracted towards fictional beings that do not and can not exist. (Y'all are furries, you probably know this feeling)
It's why I love much of the art I do, why I create most of what I do, constructing fantasies to immerse myself in, to distract myself from the obvious reality outside of my imagination, that tiny bastion of insanity of mine.
Maybe that's why I love cyberpunk and trans-humanist fiction? The promise of the unattainable, through technology, here, soon.
It's 2011 already though, where's my full-immersion VR? Where's my robot avatar? Gr.
