The Future of LNCS & TheRabbitHole
Posted 14 years agoFor those of you who have not heard, both LNCS and TheRabbitHole are currently on hiatus and will temporarily not be airing in their usual time slots. It has been brought to our attention that copyright issues could become a major problem in upcoming shows.
Pyrofox's radio show, TheFoxCast, uses a unique (though slow) server which bypasses copyrights at the expense of the server managers. If this http://news.cnet.com/8301-31921_3-2.....43421-281.html goes into effect, the server will probably be disabled and the FoxCast will be cancelled indefinitely.
However, there are solutions to these ordeals. LNCS will not permanently end, just the way you all know it will. We will no longer be commentating over "copyrighted" features. Instead, we have multiple directions to go from here.
We are contemplating using the "Rifftrax" method, in which we narrate any sort of movie, but only release the cast's audio, making it so the watchers will have to track down the movie themselves.
We also are considering livestreaming us commentating over non-copyrighted material, including, but not limited to, Youtube videos, indie films, unknown movies/tvshows, and advertisements.
LNCS is open to suggestions on how to proceed in the future.
Please let us know your thoughts as soon as possible.
