Dusting off this account just long enough to point this out.

FurAffinity has had an incredible amount of problems (including the unilateral appointment of a staff member that was accused of sexual abuse and certain other staff were implicated in hiding said fact, which ended up being the straw that broke my back); I'm going to assume that those who were around for those remember them and won't rehash.

This week, however, two ex-FA staff have come forward with their tales and supporting documentation of what it was like trying to work under FA management, how feedback was routinely ignored and consumer complaints brushed aside, and how they were, eventually, fired and then banned for speaking up about these issues. Their information details the workings of an incompetent leadership that could only respond to constructive criticism with defensiveness, threats, or (most often) silence.

Since the mods are doing their best to immediately ban anyone who links to the Imgur and/or dropbox files with the documentation, I'll instead just point out that searching for FATransparency and #FATransparency on Twitter should allow you to find the info yourselves while I, myself, am not providing any links to any off-site content.

FA is not the world of furry, and I think the community deserves better than what the site currently represents. Whether FA changes and the majority of the community stays here or whether the majority move elsewhere, we deserve better.

I'm keeping my FA account open for socializing and watching peeps, but future uploads--at least of original stuff (when I finally finish this story that's like 90% done), probably commissions too--will be on my Weasyl and SoFurry accounts, not here.

If you like boardgames and you like Firefly (I almost didn't add the latter because it's fucking Firefly amirite), you should probably give Firefly: The Game a look. I got a chance to buy-and-play it this weekend and OHMYGOD. It does a really good job capturing the "trying to do crimes while everything falls apart" feel of the show but is pretty mechanically simple (well, maybe not for people new to boardgames, but compared to the stuff I play it was refreshingly un-fiddly) and just... really cool. (Nota bene: Do not confuse this with another Firefly game coming out, Firefly: Out to the Black which from all accounts is kinda crappy.)

My birthday was earlier this month, and my partner got me one of the most memorable gifts I've ever gotten: they got a hot crossdresser to come over and be my--more or less--pleasure slave for an hour. O_O

I'll admit it, I cried like a baby during a part of the last episode. I'm surprised how widespread the hatred for the ending is. Personally, I thought it was a little Anvilicious in the last few minutes, and I do kinda wish that a certain twist hadn't been included, but overall I thought it was a fitting ending for the series. I think it's more that I'm upset the series is over at all; like finishing the last book of a ginormous epic series, you can't help but feel empty when it's done, even if the ending was perfect. :(

Also: I'm in the midst of finishing watching the final season of Battlestar Galactica... you know in The Neverending Story (movie version), when Bastion gets really into the book around the midway-to-2/3 mark, he's barely able to eat he's so absorbed? Yeah, it's pretty much like that. Convincing myself to go to sleep rather than pull an all-nighter to watch the last 4 episodes was a lengthy internal debate.

To follow up (sorta?) on this journal, my partner took a smart guess at a good present for me and got me a Tenga Fliphole (NSFW). And, uh, I approve. Mightily.

Was good and a fun 10 hours, but seemed to seriously pale in comparison to the Curious Village. Maybe the newness has worn off, but I felt more like they were stretching for puzzles this time around (and, seriously, Layton should NOT be a "Find the difference" game: stop. doing. that.). Layton took a Level in Badass, though, in the ending cinema. So awesome.

I have a problem though. There is one person I haven't given tea. And I don't know WHO IT IS. AAGH.

As a follow-up to this journal, I want to say that Winter Fire was amazing. And hot. Hotly amazing. Even the vast amounts of delicious eye-candy aside (and there was plenty. let me tell you; I think my quota of drool-worthy lesbian strap-on sex is filled for at least a year), there was so much going on. My partner and I had a couple of really sexy scenes, we got to see a show by the Wet Spots, we met some awesome people (including Trian Taormino!!!!), and, and...

This is largely unrelated to anything furry, but since I've noticed a large overlap between fur and kink in general (and also because there's some more vanilla-type items up for grabs), I figured I'd spread the word. Okay, so you know when you are a kid and scared at night? And you try to convince yourself that if you stay under the covers or keep all your limbs on the bed that the monsters in your room won't be able to get you, but deep down you know that they could get through your covers and onto your bed if they wanted? That feeling of not only crushing terror but also complete and utter helplessness to prevent a long, horrible, painful death from coming for you?

Yeah. Paranormal Activity reaches into the depths of your brain and wakes that part up. Good movie but goddamn I had nightmares last night. And am still shaky today.
