Social media has become unbearable
Posted 2 years agoI now seek asylum in the old, tattered structure of an ancient gathering site used by our predecessors and a place i once called home. I remember this place. It feels familiar, yet uncannily different. Favs, watches and shouts. Terms from aeons past, once replaced by likes, follows and ‘posts’ now retake their presence with a renewed light.
I kid. I kind of missed this place, tbh; but i never really had the consistency to keep uploading or updating; mostly because of their lousy mobile support; but at this point i’ll take anything. I miss the old internet and i specially miss how compartmentalized communities were. which ironically i feel it made them stronger and more significant.
Could somebody just please implement multi-image posts? this ‘having to post every part separately’ is really grinding my gears. what is this, 2003?

I'll be going through the entries and i'll anounce the slots in a bit. I would LOVE to take all of these, but i gotta keep it manageable. I'm thinking if i can go through this quickly enough i could open a second queue, but only after i'm done with the first and if folks are still interested. <3

Blizzard hit us super hard, been a couple of days with intermittent power and water service and even though we aren't through it yet; we've been having to spend on repairs to at least be able to stay in the apartment. Posted 5 years agoHey, i was wondering... what's the oldest thing you guys remember about the furry community?
When i was young I used to have a certain obsession with Stitch; nothing sexual, it was mostly a thing where i 'wanted to be' stitch (LOL, cringe; i know). So i taught myself to "draw" and "drew" my own version of it, put a name on it and stuff. My first OC. I didn't know anything about OC's or fandoms or anything like that. This is prime 2002, i'm fresh out of 8th grade and i'm barely getting dial up in my home. 56 kbps of pure waiting time <3 (Yeah, i'm THAT old. And in a third world country lol)
Through a couple of friends with broadband i was drawn towards newgrounds and Deviantart (back then novel sites :P). I was super surprised at how many people had 'original characters' of existing franchises; and then there were... custom ones? fully realized from what the person wanted to present as. Fursona they called them. "That's my jam" I thought. There was a whole debacle about "Anthro, not furry" :P simpler times.
Years went by and i started to frequent a couple of BBS boards back when social media wasn't even a thing. I remember applying to the VCL when i was a total art noob. In later years getting rars off limewire loaded with adult art collections... NatashaTheCat, Dr.Comet, all the classics. haha~ :P
Anyway... making art and having a community to freely express myself (horny or not) had a huge impact on me. I've definitely had issues verbalizing things, so art has been an important outlet in my life. I've dealt with huge identity issues, and y'all been an integral part in getting through them. I may be a mostly silent participant, but i'm grateful for y'all.

After some very aggravating red flags from my associates i decided to part ways. I'm done with being an Entrepreneur. I'm not good handling people under my supervision, and as much as i liked to work on my startup; i couldn't really sustain my projects properly without having to become 'the bad man' in the equation.
I'm currently unemployed, and i'm trying to find some footing on art while i see what i do next. I'm hoping i can concentrate my efforts in getting better at illustration, build up a decent portfolio and apply for a job that suits my abilities better.
I know i have not had the best online habits, and my presence has mostly been sporadic and rather insignificant in the last years; but i hope i can gain some momentum again and do one of the things i love most: Furry porn. lol.
