My Discord Account got Hacked
General | Posted 2 years agoThis is an emergency as much as an announcement. On 2-17-2024, I got my Discord account hacked by someone who had likewise taken over the account of an RP buddy. I'll spare the details, save that I needed to call my bank and lost access to my list of contacts and channels on Discord. There's a lot of friends that I don't have any contact with, now. :(
But while I try to resolve this, here's a warning to anyone else: Do NOT listen if the account "LonePhantom756" tries to contact you and says that you're in danger of being taken off Discord if you don't take steps to verify your account.

SFM Workshop Download Queue = Crashing
General | Posted 2 years agoSo. I'm just trying to work on a project, innocent as you please. However, removing some old models that I don't use has triggered something very, very, VERY nasty.
When I'm opening SFM, I get a prompt saying "Steam Workshop Download Queue," and I have to go through that to get to my project. From there, I keep having to answer a "model conflict" prompt popup with the options "Yes," "Yes to All," "No," "No to All," etc.
I go through that, innocent as you please. Then suddenly, out of nowhere, for no reason at all...CRASH TO THE DESKTOP.
I open the program again. Same process. Same old nasty crash for no reason at all.
Eventually, after going through this several times, I end up having SFM crash on me right after I click "yes" on the "Steam Workshop Download Queue," over and OVER. The only fix so far is to find the files shown in that window, and unsubscribing from them.
I've wasted literally ALL my free time after work today trying to fix this. Any progress I could have made in my creative works, flushed right down the drain. I've tried unsubscribing from superfluous Steam Workshop stuff several times, verified my local files several times (and keep getting told that 48 files were lost and would be re-acquired), and I keep running into this problem. And seeing as Blender is an unintuitive labyrinth to figure out, SFM is my ONLY vehicle for creative expression, and it's behaving badly on me.
I'm getting so frustrated that it's bleeding into my conversations with others, and they're telling me to step back and take a break. Which would be all well and good, if the problem resolved itself on its own while I was away. Except it ISN'T getting better; it's giving me the exact same nonsense when I try booting SFM up again. Putting the problem off isn't solving it; it's only keeping me from creating things even longer.
I need some help and advice. Please.

Back to Work!
General | Posted 2 years agoWelp, it's official. As far as the hand surgeon, trauma team, and physitcal therapists are concerned, I've made a full recovery from the car accident I was in 2 months ago. Considering the wreck, and that the vehicle I was in got hit by a semi truck, I'm a VERY lucky guy. It could have been a whole lot worse.
During the later stages of my recovery, as I recovered enough to start using the computer properly again, I decided to begin one of my most ambitious projects to date. I'll be uploading the first 11 entries in this project soon, and I look forward to seeing what people think of it!
I'd like to think friends, viewers, and even those of you who just added my work to your favorites. Your support has given me reason to keep creating.

On the Mend
General | Posted 2 years agoIt's been a while since I updated everyone on my condition, hasn't it?
For those of you who didn't know, I was caught up in a car accident on March 15. Long story short, I was laid up in the hospital, and had a long road of recovery even when I was released back home. Coughing fits, a fractured rib that ached when I lay down the wrong way, a hand in a cast, etc. Even when the cast came off, I couldn't bend my fingers, much less use a computer or go back to work. Now, weeks of therapy sessions, medications, at-home exercises, and general healing later, here's the results:
1) A mild coughing fit every now and then, which a cough drop can usually settle.
2) Fingers that can bend almost completely the way they used to, albeit with some stiffness and sensitivity to the middle finger.
3) Ability to perform two-handed tasks, with some caution exerted on my left hand until my hand surgeon clears me for light duty.
4) The rib is still healing, but it's not as sensitive as it was before, let alone in the hospital. Being able to cough without a stabbing pain in my side is a blessing.
I'm still stuck at home until the hand surgeon clears me to go back to work, but hopefully that won't be too much longer. Work may suck, but it'll be nice to NOT be stuck on disability. More importantly, it'll be good to be back to 100%, or at least close enough.
I'm getting better, peeps!

An update on my condition
General | Posted 2 years agoHey. There's been a delay in uploading my latest SFM render series. It's not just exhaustion on my part.
Long story short, on the way back from the job site last Wednesday, my crew lead and I got our pickup truck hit by a big semi rig. I was hospitalized for close to a week, and ended up needing my left middle finger re-set and fluid drained from near my left lung.
I'm back home now. I'm still wearing a cast on my left hand, so PC gaming and other such activities are limited at best. I'm on medications to ensure there's as little pain from my fractured rib and as few coughing fits as possible. And until my new prescription glasses are ready, I'm near-sighted. And, of course, there's general recovery needed.
But I'm alive. And the road is slow, but I AM on the mend.
I will return you to your usual spicy fan-renders once I'm better able to do so!

HELP WANTED: GIMPS Unified Transform Assistance
General | Posted 3 years agoHey, if anyone knows how to alter settings in GIMPS, The Unified Transform Tool started being very nasty for no reason at all.
Up until just now, whenever I used it on a layer, I could alter and edit said layer while being able to view the layer below it. This was useful for editing a layer so that it could fit into the frame of a photo on a layer below it.
BUT NOW.
Whenever I use the Unified Transform Tool, the image I'm transforming is superimposed over the original version of itself. And when I finalize the transformation, it's put on a Floating Image Layer, which isn't something it did before.
This is making completing the composition I'm working on outright IMPOSSIBLE. I don't know what prompted this change, or how to fix it, and I'm on the verge of having a sobbing breakdown because this shouldn't be happening at all.
I need help. Someone, anyone, I need to know how to fix this, please.

When Cerberus Met Penelope: Gun of Choice?
General | Posted 3 years agoHello again, everyone! Been a while since I done one of these, I know.
In one of my recent pics -- "When Cerberus met Penelope" -- I showed Penelope offering my Sly 5 OC bad guy, Cerberus, a choice between two handguns as a sort of down payment for his aid in her schemes. The question is, which should he go with?
I find myself torn, my good peers.
On the one hand, a revolver is always classy, powerful, and the multiple barrels fits with Cerberus' three-heads motif. On the other hand, that Bolter's well-suited to what's turned out to be a borderline 90s anti-villain edgelord design for Cerberus in regards to his color scheme, if not quite his moral compass.
What do you think?

Risky Gamble, Part 5...Time to Vote!
General | Posted 4 years agoSo, for those following the "Risky Gamble" image set, you might be aware that the present plan involves Carmelita making sure Sly doesn't keep the national treasures he's stealing from Pinstripe Potoroo's casino vault, while Rouge stands guard. Of course, given Carmelita's exasperation, Rouge playfully suggests that she be the one to accompany Sly, while Carmelita stands guard.
So tell me, dear viewers...who do YOU think should have a flirty, perhaps even steamy, moment with Sly in the vault? Place your votes!

SFM Works Again (No Thanks to Over-Zealous Firewall)
General | Posted 4 years agoGot an update for those who responded to my (admittedly emotional) request for help:
Apparently, Windows security (or one of my other protection systems) started flagging saves from Source Filmmaker as unnecessary tampering, and I didn't know this until I tried again this morning, only for the popup message to appear this time.
Needless to say, I clicked the "allow" option. Now I seem to be able to Export > Image again.
I thank all involved for their input, and their patience with my borderline meltdown.

SFM Issue: Export > Image = No Longer Working...
General | Posted 4 years agoSo...I've got an issue. All of a sudden, the Export option isn't saving my projects as images, even though I'm sure I'm following the steps right......
I go to Export > Image. I make sure it'll save to the desktop. I put in "Name.png" And then I hit "Save." By all accounts, the image should pop up there.
Except it isn't. Suddenly, the method I've been using without issue to export the scenes that I've worked so very, very hard on -- the method that's worked, without ANY issue up till now -- suddenly ISN'T working. For no good reason at all. Not even ONE.
I've verified my files. I've restarted the computer. And Export _ Image STILL isn't working the way it should.
I don't understand, and I'm on the verge of a breakdown.
So if anybody could help me, I sure would appreciate it.

Long-Time Viewer, Now a Contributor
General | Posted 5 years agoHello, everyone. For years, I've lurked around this site, checking out the brilliant artwork and stories of others. However, lacking the artistic skill of the better artists on this site, let alone the time to get my creative writing ideas off the ground, I haven't had much chance to provide any samples of my own imagination.
That changes as of today.
Thanks to Source FilmMaker, not to mention biting the bullet and setting some money aside for Patreon, I've gotten ahold of some models for a couple of familiar fandoms that I'm certain lots of folks will recognize. I intend to start hunting down resources to create a series of "still" shots (actual film work with SFM is still beyond me, let alone voice acting). Depending on viewer interest, I might start stringing them together to form a narrative or two.
And, if my work pleases the crowd, I might even be interested in taking commissions. We'll see how it goes!
For now, take a look at what comes from my imagination and keyboard, and I hope it's to your liking!

I'm at my wit's end trying to make this game work.
General | Posted 6 years agoHey, is anyone familiar with this?
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/35.....#cid:144530052
And if so, have they been able to get it working? Because I can't get it to work for me. Not even one little bit.
I managed to figure out how to make my 7zip go to a password selection mode, and thus managed to unzip the file folder. But now, when I try and play the game....
"This app can't run on your PC. to find a version that will run with your PC, check the software publisher."
I'm now past the point of frustration and approaching a meltdown.
How? How do I get this game to work on Windows 10, with a ratio of 1920 x 1080? I've set the scaling mode to "No scaling," and I've checked the "Override the scaling mode set by games and programs." And It STILL isn't working.
