Just post'n this so you all know why I've been away and not responding to the PM's. My computer died on me and not just any kind of died, the most vague, stupid and difficult to find out problem died that cost me quite a pretty penny to fix.

Now, as far as tech goes, I'd say I know my shit. Been building computers for a while now and so far I haven't encountered anything of this sort. Basically, in the middle of games or anything processor intensive, something trips in the computers sensors and causes the whole thing to just shut off. Imagine an overheating issue, but instead of taking the proper steps to shutting the computer down and then turning off, it's like you just pulled the power plug and bye bye everything.

When I first encountered this, it would hardly be able to get past boot let alone get to Windows itself so I was thinking maybe it's the PSU, thing is 7 years old but I've never ever ever had a problem before. I was really hoping it wasn't the PSU cause it's a great unit and looks fantastic. Anyway, bought a new PSU, threw it in, so far I'm doing great! Windows is stable while doing web stuff and just chatting on skype or vent or TS3 or any one of the numerous communication programs. Steam is able to update smoothly, I've installed stuff, so I go to launch skyrim and BAM, halfway through the intro it's dead again.

Now I'm think'n it's not a PSU issue. Thankfully/unfortunately. Odd thing is, it's lasting longer with a new PSU, but still happening. So now a buddy of mine thinks it's a driver issue with the graphics card. Maybe it's telling the computer to GTFO when things get a little steamy (FYI I use a HAF932 case so this should never be the cause of an overheat issue). So, I literally strip the computer of it's graphic drivers, restart, all that jazz, re-install and now I'm here, about to launch GTA V, hoping it doesn't die on me.

After a quick talk with a friend and not putting much thought into it, here are my life priorities:

1. Me

I can't help my partner if I can't help myself first. Fapping/sex is seriously some of the best medicine to feel better and really, c'mon, who doesn't like doing it. Food for survival, man's gotta eat to live. Friends before living conditions because you can always count on 'em to shack you up for a bit until you can find a good way to pay them back and, finally, good alcohol, cause noth'n and I mean nothing, beats the feel of a tumbler in your hands and a $300 bottle of scotch over the rocks... 'Cept maybe a good fap.

Now, given the time I had to come up with these, I might reflect back from time to time and really give it some thought as life goes on. I'm only 24, shit changes and I won't be afraid to admit that. Lets see where this takes me, though.

So  rukis made a meme about furry prices recently and I couldn't help but think about it for a moment, this was my response and I really feel like it's more than fair:

People don't seem to realize, commercialized art has resale value... Furry art is 90% porn and half the time it's all digital. Can't say I see a lot of art galleries around the big cities with dog penis on display or animals mating with copious amounts of cum leaking from various orifices.

You need to take into perspective that most of the furry art you see isn't traditional, it's digital. Digital art is never going to be worth as much as traditional because it takes much less skill to create than something painted, water colored, sketched, on paper/canvas. I could even see wood burning etchings costing more than most digital art. Now, don't get me wrong, what digital artists like Rukis here and many others are VERY talented in their field and know the tricks of the trade and I have huge respect for what they're able to do, but what they have at their disposal is a program with TONS of premade tools for them to use.

A huge reason why traditional art is so price is largely in part due to the supplies: paint they used, time they spent, canvas board, paper, pencils, pens, ink, and all the other art tools that one would need to create such a piece costs a LOT of money. Aside from that, time and names. Time spent on a piece obviously increases the value of said piece, as it rightly should, though one needs to take into account the fact that most people who draw on paper can't just flip their tablet pens over and magically erase the line or press the "undo" button. If you mess up with paints, water colors or acrylics, that could be hours of extra work trying to fix it. That also brings up the skill of the artist, weather they do mess up or what their artwork looks like in the end determines price. And finally, the name and reputation of the artist has MUCH to do with the pricing. This part, however, gives them a bit more leeway into overpricing. Because their name is out there and the work is obviously noticed as their own, they can charge for a certain uniqueness they add to the piece.

Aside from these few things, pricing on art is a very broad range. For digital art such as Rukis' here, I'd pay a bit above minimum wage per hour of work. Set pricing isn't something I like a lot because I feel the artist doesn't get paid properly for the amount of time spent on a commission. If you're to hire someone to draw something for you, pay them for the amount of work put into it, not just a flat fee. Considering that, Rukis should charge a lot more for the work, you guys are getting a huge deal. I've watched in livestreams before and it takes a good number of hours to sketch and finish a piece, even if it is digital.

Hopefully one day, people will start to appreciate the skill of a digital artist as much as a traditional. I feel that they have just as much talent working with a tablet as an artist has working with pencil and paper.

so yesterday was my first time ever at AC. a day to remember... The car ride here was fairly short and enjoyable, a quick little 4 hours and about 200 cops along the way and we finally arrived. Little to my knowledge, getting here was the easy part, fuck if I EVER make the mistake of not pre-registering again... 3 hours in line just to type on some 1993 computer. Cant say it was all bad though, I met some really fun furs in line and hearing the name, "Bondage Banana" being shouted over the hoard of people there was well worth it. After that, it was meeting time for all. We saw long lost friends and hugged, yelled and waved to several, and thn checked out fireworks. Unfortunately, there were thunderstorms moving into the area so we ditched early and headed back to the hotel with the cameras. Day one was fun.

this, however, is day two and it started out bad... I woke up with a stomach pain, couldn't sleep well to save my life and now I'm feeling /really/ under the weather. Thankfully it wasn't all bad. I did get to spend a nice shower with my mate and that really made my day. So far, I'm chilling at my room in the Omni and thinking about heading back over to the dealers den. update later.

So last night I got in from work and saw Meesh streaming online. Of course this is fantastic because I've always wanted to see a Meesh stream and his drawing style at work but what really caught me was the type of music he was listening to.

So It's been a few months, still at my old job, still doing the same old shit. For some odd reason my sleep schedule has been fucked up this whole week so I took an extended weekend vacation.

I've been looking around at more commissioners for my dingo. So far, I've found a few good one's but the biggest problem is that everyone else seems to have priority. I don't know if I should keep messaging them and bugging them about it, I kinda feel like an ass if I do that, but at the same time, I contacted someone about a commission before Christmas and I've only gotten two or so messages from them in response before not hearing anything else at all.

Been talking to a lot of new people as well. Talking about the cons coming up this year and I'm pretty excited about it. I've never been to a con before, always wanted to go but car insurance and rent take priority. It's bad enough I'm looking for commissions instead of food at the grocery.

So, yeah, not much to say. I guess that's all other than the part I can't post publicly.

Halloween is coming up and I have to say, one of my favorite times of the year. The leaves are pretty, I get to rake the yard with friends and throw leaves at one another, only to have to rake it all back up again but totally worth it. It's not too hot, not too cold, snuggling weather of course and to top it all off, I've got a week off for Halloween.

It's been wet and rainy here for the last few days, so much that the leaves tend to get stuck to the road and make it look like someone dripped red and orange ink from 100 feet up. I feel content. Listening to some Samurai Champloo soundtrack. I don't say that to sound hipster, though I know it totally does make me sound like that, but in all honesty, it's a great soundtrack and I wish more people would hear it so they can appreciate the musical talents of Nujabes and all the artists he worked with. It was a great show, anyway.

So this week couldn't go by any slower. It's creeping, so, fucking, slowly. Why is it when you seem to wait for something it takes forever to finally arrive? I'm leaving the end of this week to Maryland to see my boyfriend and I just want this week over with so I can get there and finally spend some well deserved time with him. Heh, funny story too, he just discovered Dave and Busters for the first time. I could have sworn he knew about something that brought food and video games together but apparently not, now I promised him we'd go out there again and play some games after a few drinks.

I've decided I'm going to start working out more. Less computer, more body tone. I can honestly say I don't like the way I look right now and I wish I had done something about it sooner and not had eaten that McDonalds today. Oh well. I really do wish more guys would appreciate their look, though. I know how a lot of furries think, "I don't care what anyone else says, I'm beautiful on the inside!" Yeeeeah, life doesn't really accept that too often. I'm not saying it's completely wrong, but I feel like if I'm going to be a guy who's damn good look'n, I should do my part to look just as appealing for him. For those of you who say beauty is only skin deep... Yeah, that's fuck'n bullshit. lol Everyone is partially turned on by appearance. It's part of what makes us attracted to that person in the first place. It's genetics. It's the idea of wanting to breed with the best pick of the pack so you can have even better looking offspring to better the future and ensure your genetic legacy. Anyway, that's what I see, also, I like getting hit on cause I'm purdy.

So I might get a commish done, just blow some money finally and get a picture of Abso the Bad Dingo. There's not many of us out there and it'd be nice to get a little popularity with a good look'n picture of a good look'n guy and his canine counterpart. I know an artist has to eat and all, but some of the prices for decent art that just takes them 2 hours to scrap together seem a little over the top. I can totally accept you need the money for this or that, but I'm not paying you 200 bucks for a picture that will never have any actual value irl or on the web. I can't sell it, I can't display it to others or they'd think it's fuck'n weird and charging that much is practically me paying for your rent. You'd get a lot more people buying from you if you charged an understandable amount for the hours of work you put in. Half the time a commission is already described in great detail to you so you don't need an imagination to draw up the picture and all the specifics are already in place so coloring isn't a problem. Maybe 30 bucks for a full digital piece, anything more would be from adding extra characters to detailed backgrounds, understandable small charges for changes, but in the end, asking 100 for a basic picture and 30 for everything else is a bit over the top. Besides, I'm sure you all have jobs outside drawing pictures for furries who love to fap to themselves.
