Project Status Page (Last Updated 2023-11-03)
General | Posted 3 years agoIt's been a while since I posted a proper journal. For those who might be curious what's been going on, not much to report on my end.
More importantly, I've been writing more in the last 3 months than I have in almost 3 years before, and that spark s starting to bear fruit!
Ongoing Projects
The Hot Springs - (2/3 parts completed) - After the great serum run, Balto tries to adjust to the life of a local celebrity. Despite her shy demeanor, his feelings for Jenna may not be as one-sided as he believes.
Dancing and Swinging - (First draft reviewed - Editing) - When Balto and Jenan run into Lady and Tramp during a night on the town, it’s the Dears' turn to extend an invitation. A friendly dance is just the beginning of another long night among four friends.
The Manager's Daughter - (First draft in progress) - After their chance rendezvous on the riverbank, Aleu convinces Chief to accompany her on a business trip to Chattanooga, aboard the Endurance. When their expected travel guests never materialize, Chief realizes Aleu has quite a different sort of relaxation on her mind.
The Stowaway - When an everyday trip is interrupted by a familiar, unwelcome guest, Balto must find a way to diffuse a tense situation alone.
In His Name - (Hiatus) - A historical-fantasy story centering on a half-breed named Dominick who finds himself swept up into the army when a neighboring state invades the kingdom of Faolchia. A remarkable feat on the battlefield brings word of his name and deeds to the crown, and his regiment is summoned to the capitol, where his sordid past awaits.
The Bartender's Mercenary - (Hiatus) - Anyone who's watched me for a while probably knows Anna and Jace. The spaceport bartender and waylaid mercenary started as Star Wars tag-ons in the AU that Wielder (now cockiestspaniel ) and Koofins whipped up. As the years went on, I realized I could trim away the Start Wars bits and still have a solid sci-fi story, so that's what the plan is here. The first chapter is up, but I've hit a writer's block and have set it aside for now.
Upcoming Projects
Tail of the Banker's Special - (First Draft In Progress) - A companion story to Folwilliar 's The Banker's Special. Take some time to read his story first, and hopefully you'll enjoy this little addition.
For the Thrill of It - As Balto prepares a surprise for his anniversary with Jenna, Chief and Aleu try to steal a few moments together on the clock and Kodi stops for a chat with the GM.
Appreciate the Lady - (Plotting) - After the events of "Tail of the Banker's Special", Tod and Vixey become a pair, and he reveals what happened onboard the Banker's Special the day he hadn't been able to meet her for dinner. Vixey offers to help smooth over Tod's falling out with Copper.

Folwilliar
This guy, one of the ever-elusive creators that can write and draw with gusto, has whipped up a late 19th century steampunk world with all your favorite Disney gals and guys (including some you've forgotten about)!
Oh, and did I mention his stories come with sweet and spicy art? Well, they do.
Check him out. Do it.

Merry Christmas + Stories Posted
General | Posted 6 years agoMerry Christmas to all, and happy holidays, too!
Hopefully everyone has been able to enjoy time relaxing in whatever way they like best.
They're a bit delayed, but I did post the first chapter of In His Name and The Bartender's Mercenary.
If you have time, I'd love to hear your thoughts on either or both.
Here's to a happy new year!

New Year, More Stories
General | Posted 6 years agoWell, I’m back.
Really, I never really left, just stopped posting. No big lofty reason why, just life. A lot’s happened these past 2 years, most of it good to be perfectly honest. I’ve been blessed. Since my last upload 3 years ago, I’ve gotten married, bought a house, adopted and lost a lovely dog to a preexisting condition, and adopted two more. I’ve also reached 3 years at my current job.
With the new year already a third gone, I’ve got some catching up to do, but I’m determined to make 2019 a writing success. What does that mean? Well, right now, that means posting stories. What stories? So glad you asked!

Upcoming Projects
A Mercenary Walks Into A Bar (working title)
Nothing ever happens in the wilderness mining town of Arkglow. After a shot-up starship lands in the midst of a blizzard, shepherd bartender Anna Mosen finds herself playing host to a mercenary who suddenly has nowhere else to go, and nothing better to do than waste her time. But despite his easy-going nature, Anna’s visitor seems to have brought trouble chasing after him...
--
Red And White In Blue (A Jace/Anna Alternate Universe)
After the suspicious death of her police captain father, Anna Mosen quits her job as a bartender and joins the capitol police force. Meanwhile, a jaded army lieutenant named Jace Taer leaves the military and starts a bar with his battle buddy in the far south mining town of Arkglow.
--
Angel With A Shotgun (A Jace/Anna Alternate Universe)
When Jace’s ship Guardian arrives back in Arkglow on autopilot, Anna’s world is turned upside-down overnight. Donning Jace’s left-behind cloak and vest, Anna goes in search of the bastards that took her mercenary from her.
--
In His Name
The jacket that nearly got him hanged was not one Dominik Raes had ever expected to put on again. When a neighboring nation smashed through their border, Dominik dutifully took up arms alongside those who saw him as nothing more than a mongrel, a half-breed. Drafted into the very army that cast his family out, he seeks to clear his slandered father’s name and give his family what they’ve lacked for so long: a home. A stunning victory carries his name to the king, but a summons to the capitol may not be all it seems. Joined by a castaway sergeant, Dominik must come to terms with a past he would rather forget.
--
Q: Why didn’t you mention Star Wars with your Jace/Anna stories?
A: This is actually something I’ve been grappling with for a while. Jace originated from a comment on one of Wielder’s fantastic Star Wars pieces, because I’m a writer and when I see something awesome I just want to join in. All the fun I’ve had since then I owe to Wielder, Koof1313, DJ_359 and many others. Fantastic creators, all of them.
The trick is, I realized that most of my writing didn’t depend on the Star Wars backdrop, and with some revisions I might have myself a fully-functional, stand-alone story. So, I’m going to give that a try. I may still write Star Wars stories, but this will be my main focus.
Q: Are you purging your gallery?
A: Nope, everything stays where it is for now. Should I decide to remove anything, I’ll be sure to let you fine folks know first.
Q: Will you be open for commissions again?
A: Sadly no, but if I get a good wind under my wings I should be able to bring my Patreon back online, which would include cameos and small request stories.
Q: Who the blazes is Dominik Raes?
A: More information will be forthcoming, but should you wish to see his first appearance, you can, here. (All credit to jodimest

Any "Destroyermen" series fans on FA?
General | Posted 10 years agoI got into the series around when Iron Gray Sea came out and I've been hooked ever since.
Recently, I've had an idea for a trailer for Into the Storm buzzing around in my head, and I wonder if I could work with someone to draft it up, along with story boards. Surely Hollywood will tire of reboots and sequels, right?

Extra Rukis Books and Art for Sale
General | Posted 10 years agoAs a result of supporting Rukis on Patreon and my own inattentiveness, I've ended up with several extra copies of a few of Rukis' books. I'd like to find them a home, so I'm reaching out to you fine people. All books are in near-new condition, having rarely been touched since I received them, since I already have my copies. Woops!
1 copy of Cruelty : $10.00 USD (Currently selling for $19.95 USD)
2 copies of Unconditional : $7.00 USD each (Currently selling for $13.95 USD)
2 copies of Initiated : $7.00 USD each (Currently selling for $13.95 USD)
I also have an assortment of prints from the monthly print packs that I'm happy to throw into the deal.
(The prints are M and M/M in nature. Just not my thing. ^^;)
If anyone is interested, please comment below to claim these, and we'll sort out shipping. Can certainly ship within continental United States. Haven't had to ship internationally yet, but shouldn't be that difficult to work out.
**Oh, and yes I have spoken with Rukis regarding this second hand sale. If anyone is concerned, I'm happy to provide evidence that all this is on the up-and-up.
Cheers, and happy reading! (Back to scribbling for me.)

Patreon is Live (Suggestions Welcome)
General | Posted 10 years agoHello and a belated merry Christmas to everyone! I hope that whatever holiday you celebrate (or your break time, if you choose not to celebrate any) was fun and relaxing.
Having just returned from travel myself, I will be completing my last contracted day of work on Wednesday, after which I will continue searching for a new job.
With (potentially) more free time on my hands, I figured now was as good a time as any to announce that I've set up a page on Patreon!
The reward tiers so far are :
$1.00 / month - Milita Member - A cameo appearance in one of my stories. (Contact me for details. The Jace/Anna series is a sci-fi universe, and my new series with Dominik Raes is in colonial times.)
$5.00 / month - Militia Captain - Your character in a scene in one of my stories. (Contact me for details. The Jace/Anna series is a sci-fi universe, and my new series with Dominik Raes is in colonial times.)
$10.00 / month - Skirmisher - A short story commission, up to 1500 words. (Contact me for details. Terms and conditions apply.)
$100.00 / month - You get to decide which story I work on first each month. (Must be from an existing series.)
One of you fine folks actually found my page before I could post this, so you'll be a trial run!
(Sorry, but that's what happens when you go poking around on the internet. You get used as a social experiment! XD)
Are the tiers fair? The rewards suitable and engaging? Let me know what you think in the comments.
Any comments or suggestions are welcome. As stated, I am new at this, so if you have any experiences to share that might help it would be most appreciated.
As always, thank you all for your continued support and patience.

Thoughts on Pen Names?
General | Posted 10 years agoLately, I've been considering a pen name in case I ever get published.
Why? Professional appeal. Rukis and Tempo, for example, look more professional (or at least would draw less negative attention) than LoneWolfSniper44. Looks like an AIM username instead of a pen name.
Should I set up a new account with my pen name?
Granted, I could just as easily have a separate pen name for when I submit to publications, but I don't know if I'd have to prove ownership of my stories (under LoneWolfSniper44) should I utilize them as part of a larger work. The last thing I want is to appear to be a plagiarist.

Level 25
General | Posted 10 years agoI've been on this planet a quarter century. Wow.
Guess that means I'm officially in the category of "old enough to know better, but still too young to care."

Star Fox - Lylat Legacy
General | Posted 10 years agoIn browsing tumblr, I stumbled onto this incredible comic in development :
Star Fox - Lylat Legacy
So far, it's a great look at the back story for some of our favorite characters. Wonderful art and a great story!

On tumblr
General | Posted 11 years agoJust a quick announcement.
I've been fiddling around with tumblr for a while, and thought it'd be a great place to post some scribbles and works-in-progress.
If you want to keep an eye out for developing stories (canon and non-canon), you can find them here :
The Glass Half Full cantina for stories from Anna Mosen
- One posted piece so far. Not a happy one. I make no apologies. :)
Jace Taer's Chronicles [Still in the works]

Patreon?
General | Posted 11 years agoI've been looking into Patreon as a way to push myself to create content faster and perhaps raise some funds while I'm at it.
So, does anyone currently use Patreon? Any tips for a newcomer?
Feel free to point me to awesome Patreon creators, too!

Memorial Day and Level 24!
General | Posted 11 years agoIt's been an enjoyable Memorial Day so far. My father and I took down our outdoor flag at sunset last night, and raised a new one at sunrise today. Per the day's custom, we left it at half-mast until noon, then raised it to the top.
To any who have served or are serving our country that happen to be reading this, thank you, sincerely, for all you've done and all you do.
That said, another trip around the sun, another year is done. I'm almost a quarter-century old!
You may now return to your regularly-scheduled program.

Crowd-Sourcing Plot Ideas
General | Posted 11 years agoHello again, fine folks of FurAffinity.
No, I'm not dead yet. You can't get rid of me that easily. Thankfully, the workload has lessened, and I'm writing more these days. Maybe I'll have something to show off this week...
Anyways, I thought I might pick your collective brains for ideas. While I’m fairly certain what I want to do with Jace and Anna, I have a few secondary characters that I want to flesh out more.
The characters are:
Cera, a velociraptor barmaid who works at the Glass Half Full cantina (just got out of a relationship with starship mechanic)
Max, a cheerful Labrador retriever who frequents the Glass Half Full (just got left by a local girl for someone else)
I have a few ideas for these two, but I’m curious to see what the people of FurAffinity might come up with. Feel free to ask me any questions you like. If you need details about their town, their past, anything like that, let me know.

Ask Anna Mosen
General | Posted 12 years agoHello all!
In the spirit of my previous journal, here's your chance to ask Jace's bartender friend, Anna Mosen, any questions you might have.
Cheers!

A Quick Question
General | Posted 12 years agoI've been browsing my FA galley lately, and I've realized a trend in my older work.
Whenever a piece of mine receives no comments, it's also only gotten 15 views.
So naturally, I ask myself : Who might these 15 wanderers of FurAffinity be, that found my work and promptly backwards marched right back out? Could they be the same 15 people each time? Are they bored with what I've written, or was it simply not what they expected?
Or is everyone waiting with bated breath for more smut?
Thank you for your time. You may now return to your regularly scheduled programs.
Do not pass GO, do not collect two-hundred dollars. Good grief.

Ask Jace Taer
General | Posted 12 years agoGood evening, good people of FA.
I've been working with
hanneharper on a project to go along with my Jace Taer's Chronicles series, and she's been asking Jace a questions to sort things out.
Well, I thought I might open it up to everyone, if you all are curious.
So, the floor's open. If you've got anything you wanted to ask my character Jace Taer, fire away.
There'll be another journal for Anna Mosen later in the week.

Quick Commissions Open
General | Posted 12 years agoHello again everyone.
Sorry to say that work hasn't noticeably lessened, but I can only wait so long for the other shoe to drop.
That being said, a friend of mine is coming home after a year abroad teaching English and Math in the Marshall Islands, and I want to treat him to a few good meals and of course a round of drinks, so what better way to raise funds than commissions?
Now, due to the short time frame until he gets back two weekends from now, I'm limiting my commission slots to 3, which probably won't matter, but it's more for my sanity. Since you fine folks don't pay until I finish the final product, it's my goal to have these all sorted out by next Thursday evening.
Commission guidelines are here.
Note me if you're interested or have any questions or concerns. Commission statuses will be listed below.
Cheers!
1.
hellshound - FINISHED!

Level 23
General | Posted 12 years agoWell, looks like I made it through another year.
Not too many updates to show for it, but that's life.
On a brighter note, I went out with some friends yesterday and bought myself a guitar! My fingers are going a bit numb, but I gather that's to be expected.
I'd like to take a moment to thank everyone who's supported this page, through comments, watches and faves.
It's a great morale booster, and I really appreciate it.
I hope to have something out for you all soon. Full-time employment has really limited my creative time, but damnit, I will get something done.
Hope you all have a peaceful, relaxing Memorial Day.
Keep the families and friends of those who gave everything for this country in your thoughts and prayers.

I hope to have something out for you all soon. Full-time employment has really limited my creative time, but damnit, I will get something done.
Hope you all have a peaceful, relaxing Memorial Day.
Keep the families and friends of those who gave everything for this country in your thoughts and prayers.
Closing Commissions For Now
General | Posted 12 years agoWell, the Schumer just hit the fan at work, so until I can get my hours and workload settled, I'm going to close my commission queue for now.
Thanks to those of you who supported me!
If anyone has any input for when I eventually reopen for commissions, I'd be much obliged. Otherwise, I'll just go on believing that my prices and terms are flawless, and I'm sure that's not the case, so don't be shy!
In other news, I'm writing when I can during the week (mostly on lunch breaks) so I have something new to post for you all soon.
Thanks for your patience!
Cheers, everyone!

First Round of Commission Slots (3 Available)
General | Posted 13 years agoHello everyone! Thanks for pausing to read this.
There’s no fundraiser here. I’m just testing the waters with a few commission slots. This'll be the first time trying this, so those who sign up will essentially guinea pigs. Just FYI. :)
If you’re interested in a spot, please reply below.
If the slots are filled and you still want to commission me, I’ll be opening up another round once these are done, provided my day job doesn't pile on me.
If you have any questions about my prices or guidelines, you can find them here!

Commission Guidelines
General | Posted 13 years agoCommission Guidelines
Hello and welcome, citizens of FurAffinity. I'm glad you've found your way to my writer's corner, and I hope you enjoy whatever you read here. I've always enjoyed writing, but I haven't made a practice of offering my services for payment.
This is an experiment of sorts, you see. I've seen plenty of folks buying and selling art commissions of all kinds, and I'm curious if anyone is looking to commission a story from me.
Pricing - No one seemed to have any opinion one way or the other when I first posted these, so this is where I'll start.
Normal pricing:
Up to 1500 words: 1/2 cent per word (up to $7.50 USD)
1500-3000 words: 1 cent per word ($15-30 USD)
3000-5000 words: 1.5 cents per word ($45-75 USD)
Erotica pricing:
Up to 1500 words: 3/4 cent per word (up to $11.25 USD)
1500-3000 words: 1.5 cents per word ($22.50-45 USD)
3000-5000 words: 2.25 cents per word ($67.50-112.50 USD)
For reference, Bartender Chatter is 2096 words, Welcome Home is 4,309 words and most of the numbered submissions are just over 1000 words. Now into the nitty-gritty.
What I Will Not Do :
Underage characters in sexual / fetish situations
Hermaphrodites
Scat / Waterplay
Vore
Excessive Gore - While I understand that blood and gore can be used effectively to heighten anxiety and tension in many kinds of stories, but if it goes beyond that, I'll probably say no.
What I Will Do :
- Ratings from G to possibly NC-17, depending. (I'm fine with all sexual orientations, but I've only got experience writing about straight relationships. Just something to keep in mind.)
- Genres ranging from romance, espionage, mystery, horror, comedy... (I do not have examples of all genres in my gallery, and you can see that I lean toward military / espionage writing, but just let me know what you're looking for, so I have a general feel for the story)
- Stories involving my characters - I'd be honored to write for my characters on commission. If it's not something I'm comfortable with, I'll say no, but if it's not on my Will Not Do list, I'll probably be up for it.
What I Will Need From You :
- An Idea! - It doesn't have to be super detailed, but a rough outline of what you're looking for is key here. If you'd like some help brainstorming, I can offer suggestions.
- A Reference - Either written or visual, I'll need to know what your character(s) look like. A brief personality description, or even better, a short bio will help me capture your character(s) as accurately as possible.
- A general idea of how long you would like the story to be, or a price limit for you. I will do my best to work within your limits.
FAQ:
Will you pad the story to get it up to the next pricing block?
- NO. That’s unfair and dishonest to the commissioner. Also, I hate putting in unnecessary words.
My story's at 1502 words! Do I have to pay the extra pricing per word?
- Borderline word counts are negotiable. I'll try to be lenient.
Why does the pricing go up for longer stories?
- Because shorter stories require less time and work.
My first (and probably last) request ended up being over 29000 words, and it took me over a year to finish. Shorter is better, but just note me if you have a question about higher word-count stories.
I have this great idea for a novel...
- NO. Sorry my friend, but I’m occupied as it is with my own publication preps. I can't take on a novel-length commission.
Why does erotica cost more?
- Erotica and smut are more challenging. Simple as that.
Will you write fanfiction on commission?
- It depends. I have a small repertoire of fanbases, and honestly the last thing I need is a “cease and desist” notice from Universal or one of the others. However, if you’re set on fanfiction, just note me and I’ll give your idea due consideration.
I have a completely original character and would like you to write with them. Is this okay?
- YES. By all means! I'll need a rough physical description and a detailed personality description, possibly even with a bio. I want to be able to capture your character(s) as accurately as possible.
Can you write me a story based on one of your characters?
- If it's in-character for them, then YES.
Will you pair up my OC with one of your characters?
- Hmm… This would be another one of my “depends” categories. If it’s in-character, I don’t see why not. If this is a popular option, I may have to create some more secondary characters.
Could you write so-and-so's original character with one of mine or yours?
- If I can positively obtain permission from the character's creator, then sure. Otherwise, I'm gonna have to turn it down.
I'm 17 and want to commission porn!
- Sorry. Legal issues, my friend. I need proof that you're over the age of 18 before I write any sexual situations for your money.
So how does this work?
- You tell me about what length of story you want, what genre, what characters, and a loose outline. I type it up, give you up to three paragraphs at random as well as the final word count and total, and you send me money via PayPal before I give you a Read-Only version of the text file.
Will you be showing my story off to everyone else?
- Again, it depends. The writing is technically still mine to showcase, and having a portfolio of stories built up looks good to a potential new buyer. However, if you're really uneasy about the story you paid me to write being up for public viewing, let me know this up front and I'll see what we can work out. I try to be reasonable.
And, I think that about covers it all. If there’s something I haven’t addressed, you can reply below or note me. Thanks for stopping by!

Thoughts on Commissions
General | Posted 13 years agoHello again, all!
Well, as I'm stumbling through my resolution to write at least 1000 words for 300 different prompts this year, I was reminded of interest in story commissions. Now, this is just a preliminary thing. Honestly, I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop at work, as things have been...disturbingly calm, I would say.
Furthermore, as my postings (or lack thereof) show, I'm not the fastest to upload...anything, really. So, I'm not sure this is the right idea, but I figured I could give it a try.
But, as a general interest question: If I opened for commissions, would anyone be interested?
And, as a follow-up, I did some looking around and found a few different pricing systems.
The first is really a flat word-count price : $10 for 1000 words, $20 for 2000 words, and so on...
The second is a bit more complex...
Normal pricing:
Up to 1500 words: 1/2 cent per word (up to $7.50 USD)
1500-3000 words: 1 cent per word ($15-30 USD)
3000-5000 words: 1.5 cents per word ($45-75 USD)
Erotica pricing:
Up to 1500 words: 3/4 cent per word (up to $11.25 USD)
1500-3000 words: 1.5 cents per word ($22.50-45 USD)
3000-5000 words: 2.25 cents per word ($67.50-112.50 USD)
For reference, Bartender Chatter is 2096 words, and Welcome Home is 4,309 words.
As I'm trying to lean away from PWOP (Porn WithOut Plot), I think the second system works better.
That being said, I'm interested in your opinions and questions. Fire away!
Or, note me with any questions you have. I'm holding off on putting out my Paypal information for now.

New Year's Resolution : 300 Prompts
General | Posted 13 years agoLike many folks, I made a resolution for the new year two nights past, and I decided on a resolution that I would be very invested in keeping : Writing more often.
So, I resolved to complete a list of 300 prompts this year, each writing to be between 1000 and 5000 words because I'm not crazy. The other 65 days will be there as a fail safe, since I am not a robot and life does happen. However, seeing that I've already used one, I want to get a good running start.
These stories will most likely be labeled as scraps, since I don't think I can count anything I write in a day as finished in any shape or form.
My apologies in advance for flooding your inboxes, but I hope you'll at least enjoy some of my scribblings.
Happy New Year!

Why do you watch me? (And other questions)
General | Posted 13 years agoBorrowing from
henori , I hope you don't mind my taking a moment of your time to ask you one question:
What do you watch me for? Or, why do you still watch me, even though I upload so sporadically, at best?
I've recently shifted from Balto-centered stories to the Star Wars universe, and I'm curious what you all are looking forward to seeing from me, especially if it's not in either of those categories.
Okay, one more question, and this is purely hypothetical... If I opened up for commissions, would anyone be interested?
If you would like, leave a comment, or send me a note.
