A little life lesson...
Posted 10 years agoLast year I posted articles on how I thought life would be easy breezy, and let me be the great example to say it wasn't. It was hard to find a job at first. Once one came to me, I soon learned I was going to pushed to my limit and beyond to make sure my job security was still safe. I went through a few jobs thinking I could just keep at a pace I liked and was comfortable with, but superiors find ways to take that away.
I also had challenges financially. I kept blowing every check I got, leaving no room for major repairs on my car which I thank God never happened. Im now making less money, but have a new car bill to pay and I needed a reality check real quick on how to start saving money again.
I could mention more about how much hell it was that I went through up until now, but its made me the hard and diligent worker I am today. Im glad I was pushed because now my standards are set higher, and they get higher everyday. All I'm doing now is waiting until I can go get my licenses in forklift, cdl driving, and maybe engineering as a recap so I can have more job choices. I also would like to thank God for keeping me on the straight and narrow, and I want to go into ministry as well to preach the word of God.
This past year I think I've been molded, and now I am a coccoon ready to hatch. But a little more pushing and fine tuning needs to be done before I fully awaken my peak as a human.
if there is one thing I want anyone to get out of my experience is that prayer works, and hard work pays off. And you will have to fight like hell, and through hell, just to get where you want to be.

Bronycon 2013
Posted 12 years agoAt the beginning before the doors even opened for Bronycon. I was met with a few hundred bronies just standing right outside the door. But as the doors opened and the day progressed, more bronies piled in along with random groups shouting "Fun Fun Fun" and "Pink Fluffy Unicorns Dancing on Rainbows".
Friday I went to a bunch of panels, spent time in the vendor room and bought hella merch, took photos with famous bronies, and had dinner which gave me severe heartburn later on.
Saturday was about the same, more photos, panels, but this time there was Bronypalooz. The 6 hour rave/concert which was completely awesome.
Sunday was just packing up, and enjoying the rest of the con. And then the trip home.
A few things to note on the side. Bronycon 2013 doubled its amount of con goers from Bronycon 2012. It went from 4000, to 8000 in one year. Which is most likely it moved venues to Baltimore. And something that really surprised me. There was a table in the vendor room promoting Antrhocon. That I wasn't surprised at since furries and bronies are almost the same. But the man at the table surprised me, it was none other than Uncle Kage. Yea being the con chair of AC would probably mean he would be there, but it was still a little surprising. At least this means that Anthrocon and Bronycon don't hate each other.

So much cons, so little money
Posted 12 years agoGranted I've been to a lot of cons already this year. I think Im starting to like the con life. Its very fun and there are a lot of people there that you don't know but end up meeting because you share the same interests.
I hope in the years to come (maybe 10-15 years) I hope to be a con chair or run my own convention entirely. That there is a big step, but even con chairman is good enough for me. Hey I've already worked security for one. And Im going to work a table for another con that my friend is doing. So its safe to say this is turning into my life.

Summer 2013
Posted 12 years agoNow that I am graduated, I got a lot I want to do, and got a lot I want to see. First off is conventions, I got a few cons I'm going to such as Bronycon, Trotcon, and Kentokyocon. Its gonna be really fun and I just can't wait to finally go out and go places without family.
Then right after that I am going to work. I figured I get the fun stuff done before I start my full adult life. But I won't get to held up in work. I'll still make time for just relaxing and being in different fandoms

A little bit more in depth about Lonkary Fluff
Posted 12 years agoMy IRL personal stuff - I have been trained to work as a machinist, but I also may want to work for truck driving. I may also want to go to school for Neuroscience. I currently live with my mother and step-father. I have no plans on moving because I just don't feel like it. I like where I am and with who I am. I have been pretty slow at learning the internet culture but in the past few years after I have gone to 4chan and lay witness to other sites. I learned a lot quicker about the internet and its fandoms. Im a well rounded guy, I find enjoyment in most things.
Why did I become a fur? - I became a fur after I did a sociology project on the Furry subculture. I was curious to learn a little more and I had learned that the idea of anthro is spread across mainstream society with sports and cartoons. Which to be honest Bugs Bunny is still my old favorite. And I liked those shows as a kid and I liked the anthro style artwork too so I joined.
How did you come up with the name Lonkary? - Lonkary is the name of my Flareon in Pokemon.
Why a fox, there's so many of them? - Well at first I didn't know when I chose a fox as my fursona. So when I heard about the massive amounts of foxes. I just said hey, you can't really change how you look when you are born can you? So why should you go and mess with you original fursona?
Do I fursuit? - No. And there are a few reasons why I won't. Too much money to go into it. Chances the suit will rip and Im not good at sewing. And the suits I heard get hot. I like staying warm. I'll wear a tail and paw gloves and maybe some shoe coverings but that is probably it.
Im also in the Brony fandom - I like the Bronies. In fact, they are what led me to this fandom. Most of you may not like them but oh well. Not everyone does.
