Second Life
Posted 13 years agoAnyone watching me use SL? Been kinda bored lately, not much to do and not many people to talk to or hang out with.
If you're on, why not give me a shout? I could use the company. ( Ferrin Dryke )

Turn-on / Turn-off meme
Posted 13 years agoI don't usually do memes, but I thought I'd give this one a shot, at the STRONG encouragement of a certain kitty. :P
Post a comment with a kink, and I'll tell you if it turns me on, or turns me off. Simple as that.
And... GO!

Out of town for the day
Posted 13 years agoTaking Lucca back to Yakima today.. Not happy about the way things turned out, but.. Not a lot I can do about it at this point.. What's been done, has been done.. I should be back in Bremerton later tonight, barring anything major.. I'll have my cell if anyone needs to reach me.
Stuff!
Posted 13 years agoSo, spent the weekend helping
and his mate ChewPeke move into their new apartment, using the truck and our dinky little trailer. Had some fun, hung out, worked, and bitched about life's issues.
At the end of the weekend, I've got a new computer out of it for a fair price. Just got it up and running last night.
It's got an AMD Athlon II X2 255 3.1 GHz 64 bit CPU, a 500 and a 250 GB HDD, and an ATI Radeon HD 4350 graphics card.
I also did some research online, and the motherboard can handle up to an X4 processor, meaning I can upgrade it later if I need to. Also, since it's got a PCIe slot, rather than an AGP, I can stick in a lot better graphics cards later on as well. <3 upgradability.
Everything seems to be working so far. My dad took it to work on Monday to clean it out and fix any hardware errors. The case is beautiful, and much better ventilated than my old one, and it's still running cold after being on all night.
I'll put it through a few paces to test out it's capabilities over the rest of the week, but it's already a massive improvement over my laptop.

Happy Valentine's Day!
Posted 14 years agoCall me cheesy, corny, mooshy, or whatever.. I want to say this, because that certain special someone deserves to have it said.
I see a lot of couples out there.. Some happy, some not.. And I see a lot of singles, too. Some cling to being alone, others are happy to have close friends and family.
And that's the thing: No matter how alone you feel, you never truly are. There is ALWAYS someone, even if you don't see them.
I'm lucky, I know. I not only have a mate, whom I love dearly, and whom loves me dearly, but I share my life with her.. Not many people reach that stage, where more should.
I can't give much advice on how to succeed in a relationship, other than honesty and acceptance. Love can really, really hurt, but without that pain, there can be no growth, no progression to you becoming a better person.
Lucca is not my first. I've made mistakes, lost chances, and seriously screwed myself over more than once. But because of those mistakes, because of what happened, I learned how to be a better person.
From my first, I learned that if I don't speak my mind, I may lose my voice when it really matters.
From my second, I learned how to accept that I wasn't perfect, that I could be flawed, make mistakes.
From my third, I learned to accept that others weren't perfect, and how to accept those flaws.
From my fourth, I learned to compromise, give up something, to gain something important.
I'm still living, still loving, and still learning. Lucca is my teacher.
Together since July 4th, 2010.

WFS8 / Further drama and life issues
Posted 14 years agoFurball WFS8Been kinda half planning this for a couple weeks.
came to pick me and
up Friday afternoon, to hang at his and Chewpeke's place along with
We stayed the night, and left for Honestly, it was kinda frightening at first, and I was very overwhelmed by all the furs both in and out of suit. I was surprised to find
when we first arrived, and having someone familiar to talk to helped me relax a little. After I relaxed some more, I gathered up enough courage to actually talk to a couple of furs, and even got a few scritches. After that, I really started to feel free and fluffy, like my usual self. But now that it's over, I just want to jump out and do it all over again! XD
After the bowling event was over, some of the furs who didn't go home gathered together for dinner at the Old Country Buffet. Me, Tom, Chew, Lucca, Kokki, Greycoyote, and a new acquaintance
shared a table, and much conversation about furries and life in general, and a great many funny stories. After leaving the buffet, some of the remaining crowd gathered for an after-party for the after-party at another fur's house. (Partyception) I didn't socialize as much there, once we arrived. Everyone sort of did their own thing. I mostly sat with Lucca on the deck while a mini-mosh of fursuiters danced nearby, to music DJ'd by Razzy. I may not have done as much, but I had fun watching.
After a while, Lucca, myself, Tom, Chew, and Terra(Another new acquaintance) headed out and home for the night, Dropping Terra off at home in Tacoma on the way around back to Silverdale. We all pretty much passed out as soon as we got back to Tomcat's place. XD
New life dramaAfter arriving back home early Sunday afternoon, I'm greeted by my apparently happy parents, and generally agreeable ambiance. Life is good. A few hours later, there's fighting, and arguments about things that had apparently been going on all weekend while I was away..
My father seems to be having as much trouble dealing with my mother as I am, but he's not even trying to be nice to her about it.. I'm not sure what's going on with him, but he's brushed Mom off enough that today, my mom spent two whole hours talking to me, venting about how she really feels, because I'm the only one who apparently listens..
This isn't something new. Dad's been a general dick for over a month. I don't know what's true, because I've never once seen him attack her or even grow slightly agitated unless she provokes him. My father's a good, honest man, and I don't know if this is stemming from his refusal to break the law to get her pills or not..
Regardless of the cause, the result is plain enough.. My mother has told me, and said within Dad's hearing, that she no longer loves him. And today, she said the words that I'm sure no child cares to hear from their parents.
Divorce
She went on to detail that she wouldn't legally divorce him, because the tax break that marriage provides is too valuable to lose.. But the concept is still there..
My parents are starting to hate each other, fighting almost regularly, and their stress is trickling down to me and Lucca. I have a break for the moment because Mom was able to vent to me, and Dad isn't home yet, but with them both 'hating' each other enough to grow so distant, it's only a matter of time until everything overflows.. The dam will break, it's only a question of when, and how deep the flood will be..
TLDR;
Had a great weekend, met new people, was able to relax, came home to family crisis, facing imminent disaster.
Edit: Apparently the event was actually "When Furries Strike 8"
WTF? (Rant about living situation deteriorating)
Posted 14 years agoOkay, so, Mom's been peeing her pants for the last week or so, meaning I have to wash them almost twice a week. Though Dad did them the last two or three times. Today was a bit of an emergency.
I stick her pants in the wash, and go to do my own thing. As far as I can tell things are okay. Mom asks about her pants some time later, and I ask Lucca to go move them to the dryer. Not more than an hour later, my mom is screaming obscenities down the hall about her pants not being right there.. I go to get them, rushing through my normal time to stretch, and get yelled at for commenting that I was going as fast as I could. On the way back, I hear a heavy, exasperated sigh, and comment that I'm right there with a hint of agitation in my voice at her lack of patience, and she starts cussing me out about constantly being a jack ass, asshole, or other such unpleasant name towards her, and promptly threatens to kick me out of the house.. Even going so far as to ask down the hall which car I want to sleep in..
I choke back my building anger at her accusations, and listen as she tells Lucca about how many times I've left dinner unprepared, because I'm too lazy to get out of my chair and cook it.
I have prepared my father's dinner every night for more than the last several months. I've even been out there to greet him and serve him on several occasions. The most he's had to do is serve himself, or maybe reheat soup that had gone cold after he'd gotten home and I turned it off.
As for pushing my chores off on Lucca? No. I ask if she can do something, or if she'd like to help. Unless I'm unable to, I don't relegate chores or tasks unfairly. We both need to get up and move from time to time, and I'm only trying to make it so that we SHARE the chores. Not one of us do everything.
I have done just about everything I could for the past two weeks to avoid offending her or upsetting her, but I can't get any space to breathe without running into accusations and backhanded comments about my performance. It's not my fault she decided to live in the middle of the house, in a room with no walls or dividers from the kitchen, dining room, and pantry. It's not my fault that I can't look for food without waking her up in the morning, or evening, or often the middle of the day.
I really should get paid for putting up with this shit..

Update (For those who care)
Posted 14 years agoStill largely offline during the day, and in the evening, while Lucca's awake. Her PC is still troublesome, and she's grown attached to having a second screen for use in her artwork. And I can't argue against my PC being far more powerful when it comes to her art programs. On top of that, it's easier for her to use the desk than draw on the bed or in the chair. More space, better posture, etc..
So this has become something long term. Until we can either move out, or magically acquire more space to get another desk for her to work at, I'm only going to be online for limited periods in the mornings. A couple hours at most, since she still can't quite match my sleeping schedule.
I do have MSN on my X-Box, but I'm limited and a bit slow since I'm usually doing other things to keep myself entertained. That, and the limitations of the miniscule chat windows I'm given to work with. So I won't be up for much role-play, if any.
Stay sane.

Going offline
Posted 14 years agoGoing to be offline for a while. Here's why:
Lucca's computer is having technical issues, and I'll be letting her use mine for art and whatnot, since I still have Skyrim and SpaceMarine to keep me occupied. If you need to reach me for anything, you can tell her, and she'll tell me.
Don't worry, I'm fine, not dead or hiding from anyone. Just making sure my mate can do her thing.

Update on life
Posted 14 years agoStill waiting on Forza 4.. It hasn't arrived..
SpaceMarine was everything I'd hoped. Challenging, entertaining, and enjoyable. Still haven't beaten it though.
Skyrim was everything I was warned about, and has devoured most of my soul already. On my third play-through. And yes, enough with the 'Arrow to the knee' comments from the damn guards. I take arrows to the everywhere and I'm still fighting. >.> Hell, one of my shield brothers had an arrow sticking out of his forehead. AND HE WAS STILL KICKING ASS! Grow some freaking balls, Imperial milk-drinker. RAH! D:<
.....
*Cough*
...
Anyways..
Severely disappointed with Dragon Age 2.. Thinking on trying to exchange it for something else, but can't think of anything..
The speed wheel controller is AMAZING for racing. Sensitive, precise, and quick.. But hard as hell to get used to. I'm going to need a lot of practice before I go back to any season play.
The music is enjoyable, though I don't listen to it much. Still trying to figure out why my phone won't sync to my PC so I can transfer it to listen to while I'm out of the house. :(
My new robe has come in handy more than once, and Lucca loves to snuggle against me when I'm wearing it.. Seriously, Snuggles the Downy Bear would be jealous.

Finally Christmas
Posted 14 years agoFinally got to celebrate Christmas today. Presents, breakfast, and dinner (It's still in the making).
The day was enjoyable, at least for most of us, with laughter, and shared joy, so I can't complain.
I may have been unhappy, having to put it off three days, but I think I'd be even less happy if we hadn't: Seeing all of us, smiling, laughing, and just being a family, was worth it.
As for me? I got a few things I asked for. Still no new PC, but it's not like I actually expected to get anything that big this year. :P
Got some music, that I can share with Lucca, a couple games, and a few bits and bobs.. An awesome shirt, and a plush robe that isn't 3 sizes too small.
As to the games.. Well.. Don't expect me to exist anywhere for a long.. Long time:
Skyrim
Space Marine
Dragon Age 2
Forza Motorsport 4 (Still waiting on delivery)
So, yeah. Taking a bit of a sabbatical from life, SecondLife, and the internet in general. I'll probobly pop onto my IM's regularly, but I most likely won't be overly talkative, or up for any role plays.
Now, if you'll excuse me.. I have a new speed wheel to test out.

A mini-trooper update.
Posted 14 years agoSo, I've been playing and leveling up, earning coins to make my force larger, or stronger.
Each army recruited gives me one trooper for use in raids. The first trooper of the recruited army.
However.. If these troopers aren't leveled up, my raid army doesn't get any stronger.. And I lose out on potential money for upgrades to my own troops. :(
So please don't forget to play, on occasion.. Or if you're not going to play, maybe share your accounts so I can use them?
(If they're not password protected, anyone can play your account )
And for those that might have missed the last journal: http://ferrinlonwulfe.minitroopers.com
Every new army recruited will give me credit and one trooper towards my raid army. And any of you can recruit for yourselves to get similar bonuses. :3

No thanksgiving today.
Posted 14 years agoI've never been much of a traditionalist when it comes to thanksgiving, so it didn't really bother me when my parents asked if I would mind postponing the celebration a couple days, since mom's going through her monthly withdraws this week.
Turkey will be served on Saturday instead.
To everyone else: Happy thanksgiving, and I hope your feasting ends well, and not explosively. :P

Original Characters

So here, have a list. :3

Un-suckage!
Posted 14 years agoI finally UN-blocked my old E-mail.
Though I have a feeling I'll only be using it for messenger, and unimportant things.
At least I have my contact list back.
Which means, since it won't be connected to any of my financial information any longer, I'll be posting it up here for MSN. :3
Having a junky mail addy is useful. *Nodnods*

Posted 14 years agoMy email account has been blocked.
Apparently, someone hacked into it AGAIN..
This, just after me finding out that someone way the fuck over in UTAH somehow got a hold of my account and used it for a redbox rental.
Yes. Utah.
I'm dropping it, as of today. It's no-longer secure, and since I never sent out e-mails, I can't recover it. (They want most recent messages sent, subject lines and contact info)
Anyways.. Yeah.. Those of you that actually HAD my email, please note me. I'll send you the new one..

Update - Good news, and bad
Posted 14 years agoFirst off, I want to thank all of the people who have taken commissions with my mate, lucca
Through your donations and commissions, and our own work at saving, we've managed to raise just a little over 200 USD.
Under normal circumstances, this would have been just enough to afford a trip for Lucca and my self to visit her mother and children in Yakima for a day or two, including a hotel for the duration. A nearly 2 hour drive to the east from here, through Seattle and the Cascades.
However.. There is some bad news...
As I've mentioned in a previous journal, the transmission in the Explorer had dropped second gear, but was still mostly functional.. Enough to run to the store or drop Lucca off for her college classes during the week. I went to the auto shop today, just to ask the general running price for a transmission repair, or replacement, in light of the upcoming trip...
The cost of repairs, is more than we payed for the vehicle itself... Where we were hoping it would be under 1000..
We can't take the Ram.. That's my dad's only commute vehicle.. And I don't feel comfortable taking the Caravan, in case there's an emergency, and my mother needs to get to the hospital, or doctor's office. (She refuses to take an ambulance) This leaves me with little to no safe options for transportation outside of Kitsap county..
One solution that was presented, was to rent a car for the trip.. This would mean, however, that we'd need to raise as much as 5 or 6 hundred, to cover the cost of the rental, gas, and lodging for the time we'd be spending over there..
As Lucca has stated in her journals, money is extremely tight, and we don't have extra to spare between bills, food, and payments for various outstanding debts, so options are further limited...
If you can help out, we would both greatly appreciate it. Even if it's just to link to this journal.. The farther out the call for help can reach, the more are likely to hear it.
Lucca is open for commissions, and any donations are more than welcome.
If you happen to need help altering an avatar in SecondLife, I'm also open for work.

Stability results were moderately high which suggests you are relaxed, calm, secure, and optimistic.
Orderliness results were moderately low which suggests you are, at times, overly flexible, improvised, and fun seeking at the expense of reliability, work ethic, and long term accomplishment.
Extraversion results were moderately high which suggests you are, at times, overly talkative, outgoing, sociable and interacting at the expense of developing your own individual interests and internally based identity.
trait snapshot:
messy, disorganized, social, tough, outgoing, rarely worries, self revealing, open, risk taker, likes the unknown, likes large parties, makes friends easily, likes to stand out, likes to make fun of people, reckless, optimistic, positive, strong, does not like to be alone, ambivalent about chaos, abstract, impractical, not good at saving money, fearless, trusting, thrill seeker, not rule conscious, enjoys leadership, strange, loves food, rarely irritated, anti-authority, attracted to the counter culture.
Nothing I didn't already pretty much know, but it's interesting seeing how accurate it is. :3

Snowball
Posted 14 years agoI have a cat. She can be ornery at times, but she's sweet, and I know that she loves me.
I've had this cat since around 2000. She's been through two different moves with me, and has always been curious and affectionate. She would come running when I sat on the couch, and would even climb into my lap at times if I was watching TV. She used to sleep with me, and would cry at my door if I didn't take her to bed.
When I was away at Job Corps, training, my parents said she just slept away the days on the couch where I used to sit and watch TV with her. And when I came home, she wouldn't stop following me, or clinging to me for several days.
So, I feel sad when I look at her now..
Ever since we moved into this house, we've had flea problems.. But they were manageable, and we could afford medication for the cat, and spray to keep them under control.. We haven't been able to buy any Capstar tablets for months now, and the Frontline doesn't seem to do any good at all, and it's almost gone anyway..
Snowball has become withdrawn, and reclusive.. She's begun sleeping away from people, in odd places that she's never really shown much interest in before.. Her normally white fur is greying with the flea refuse on her back, and no amount of brushing seems to get it out.. Her skin seems to be sensitive to the touch, and she starts 'attacking' her forepaws or shoulders of you pet her anywhere but her neck and head..
What's worse, is the fact that there are times when she has some sort of seizure.. That's the only way I can describe it.. She'll start growling, and struggling, digging into her fur and pulling with her teeth like there's something attacking her.. I tried to stop her the other day while a friend was over, and nearly got my finger bitten off.. She can't control herself when this happens..
Her flanks are in miserable shape on top of all this.. The left flank missing almost half the fur, and the fur that's left is turning yellowish-brown from her constant licking and biting..
She's old, and in poor health.. And we can't afford to make it better.. I just want to hold her and comfort her, sleep with her like I used to.. But Lucca dislikes her, and complains when I bring the cat into the bedroom, or put her on the bed at night..
I just want her to be able to spend what little time she has left in the comfort of her master's arms, like she used to...
I have to wrap this up, because I'm starting to cry..
Love your pets, if you have them.. Cherish their companionship, and their love, and their devotion.. You never know when you might lose them..

Birthdays..
Posted 14 years agoMine was today.
Got a few well-wishes, but little else.
Had to loan all my money to my parents.. Joy..
Celebrated the day before, on Sunday, so my dad could be there for it. Was nice.
Got a small Lego set.
A laptop-cooler that I didn't need any more. (Since I'm at my desk instead of confined to my chair)
And a Japanese learning program.
Granted, I didn't ask for much.. I only really wanted one thing.. But then again, when money's as tight as it is, you can't be too picky.
I just hope I get payed back the $120 or so I had to loan out.. It's really hard to save for a new PC, when you need to keep giving your parents your money..
