I'm back! Unfortunately, the experience with the surgery was quite miserable this time around due to staff (except for the surgeon, she's always awesome~), but it seems we are making progress. They decided to release the end of the doner flesh that had been attached to my hip since blood flow seems good on the other end. They are estimating the next surgery will be in the fall, I'm kinda hoping it will be sooner if things heal up well but it seems like it does take as long as they guess usually. The good news about it is that the steps they have taken thus far have always made improvements, so I think it is safe to believe it will continue that way~
I've been seeing a therapist for a bit now, and I'm making a lot of progress in terms of mindset and I had a very well-timed session the day after the surgery and that helped take a lot of the negativity's blow. The week I took away from here after the surgery helped clear my head a lot as well.
Fortunately, it seems there aren't too many messages backlogged so I should be able to get things rolling again fairly smoothly. I'm feeling good about the plans we have made regarding my commission scheduling, and I will be testing that out starting today. So those who have been waiting for WIPs shall see some soon :°3

Just wanted to let everyone know I'm sorry I have not responded to everyone's messages at this time, my mental health tanked within the last few days. I'm gonna be okay, I think it is likely just the big surgery coming up and stuff like that, but that after the over-exertion has depleted me. I think once the surgery is over and I'm on my way healing in that regard things will be a lot healthier looking~
I think the most accurate forecast I can provide now is that I will try to work on some of the pieces until I have to go, but things may be a little slow and choppy until my recovery at this point. Sorry for those of you who are waiting, I'll be back as soon as I can~

I got a bit over eager with how well the drawings have been going, and have exhausted myself lol So I'm gonna try to pace myself a little better this week and those of you who were supposed to hear from me on Monday may be looking more at Thursday ish~ There should still be a reasonable amount of time to get the current list of people's projects done before the surgery including those who are still waiting without prolonging this problem :°3
One thing I have noticed is I may need to shorten the studio hours I am doing per day, I think I am expecting more out of myself than I can handle. So I will reconsider my schedule and see how that goes :°3

Well, now we know when the surgery will pop up! I know it may sound far off, but we gotta keep in mind these two peeps are, as far as I can tell, the only ones doing phalloplasty in Sweden and they both have to be at my operation since they kinda teamwork to figure out this problem. Fortunately, I don't know if I mentioned it in a previous journal or not but the inflammation situation has improved even since my previous journal and is almost entirely gone. There used to be a hard spot on my hip where the doner flesh is attached, where it felt hard down to the bone. That has softened up a lot, it feels a bit "thick" still, but it can be squished around and such. This is great news because their biggest concern is how tight that spot will be when they reattach the doner flesh on the other end. Considering this, waiting another 3 weeks might be good news for the process itself.
So far it looks like I can fit everyone from the current waiting list in before that, and it's very likely more :°3
Also a quick update on the postybirb situation for anyone wondering about the submission pattern. Drawings are posted every 2nd day (From the time of this journal, it's as far as until March 6th) and I'm trying to do a pattern of color ->black and white -> color, etc. Some of them are a little iffy regarding if one would actually call them color or black and white, but I guessed as best I can :°D

I had mixed up the days, my surgery was tomorrow not Monday, so I figured I'd take two vacation days then since I had got things fairly in order up to this point. Of course, this morning I woke up neck-deep in a cold. I called the hospital and they confirmed I cannot go into surgery in this condition and have opted to reschedule. I don't know when the new date will be yet, but I suspect I will know within a few days.
So I will be back at Altair's picture when I am feeling better from this. If the dates line up so I have time to get anyone else done before the new time, I'll be sure to make an announcement as soon as possible.

I am going in for the reattachment surgery ((phalloplasty correction, it's been a while since I mentioned lol)) on Monday. I'm hoping it should be a fairly quick recovery this time, so fingers crossed it might be a week or so until I'm drawing again. I'll let everyone know when I know. :°3
Meanwhile, I've loaded Postybirb with all the stuff I've fallen behind on, so I'll set that up to trickle out for a while to avoid spamming and let each pic get some time to be seen~

Thankfully things are just kinda rolling at a good pace here at the moment. I got informed that my reattachment surgery will be on January 18th. It being later than expected is good news to me because I was not really enjoying the idea of my partner doing long icy drives during Christmas traffic. The other good news is I imagine since it's JUST a reattachment and everything else is kinda just healed now, I suspect the recovery should not be as long as it was before. I should have time to get through the current waiting list before then, too.

Thankfully there is not really much news here recently. The eye thing should be well healed over right now, it is still blurry but that can take some time to clear up. I suspect that the reattachment surgery for the bottom surgery situation will be in the middle to end of December. The open wound from that is FINALLY healed over save for a couple tiny superficial spots, just in time to cut open again 8°3 lolol That at least means I basically don't have to think about it that much until then so handy in that regard~
So in the meantime, I should be able to do commissions for a few weeks, and I'm opening up another slot! The submission with info will come shortly after this journal.

The surgery went well on Friday. It was a lot more terrifying than I anticipated, I had a feeling they were going to use a scalpel to do the cornea scraping but even with that in mind, it was still a thing of nightmares lol I was a bit concerned that being my cowardly self it would take me a while to get over that, but I am already doing quite well and the cliché thing of seeing that every time I closed my eyes disappeared on the first day~ The pain was as dramatic as the doctors had described, but gratefully was only really bad on the first and second day.
Today I am gonna poke at some existing and personal projects and see how it goes. Even though the blur in the eye can take some time to go away, I think I will be able to get back to drawing as early as tomorrow since it has not really changed my vision quality anyway. And according to the docs the scraping should be healed by then too, and it seems like their estimates were quite accurate with this~
I'll get to replies bit by bit also (and check if all the postybirb things went well while I was gone lol) Thanks again for your patience and support and I look forward to being fully back soon :°3

I just got a call saying the best chance of me getting my eye surgery without it clashing with the surgery I have in December is to do it tomorrow morning since the hospital over there doesn't have any other dates open this month. I guess someone else canceled because it is pretty uncommon to get such a short notice thing like that, especially for something with such a long waiting list. I think I should go for it, so unfortunately all the clients I have been working with this week will have to be on hold until further notice. It sounds like I should be back in action within a week if they guessed accurately.
This is a lot more simple and more commonly executed surgery than the huge thing I got going on downstairs, so I am suspecting their time estimates will be quite a bit more accurate.
So hopefully I will see you all just a few days after tomorrow. Thanks again for your patience and I hope you are all doing well,

It has been so long I last saw a doctor about my double vision, I thought they had forgotten about it. But on Friday I was sent to a specialist in another city and according to the records, my vision is deteriorating way too rapidly to ignore. The condition is keratoconus if anyone wants to look it up, I know a few of you here on FA were already familiar with it~
It was weird when they did a test lens cause I'm so used to my vision being so fucked that seeing words even relatively clearly was like experiencing VR for the first time x,°D I wear glasses during my commission work to avoid headaches, but I haven't seen anything clearly since probably 2016.
They cannot reverse the damage that has been done, but they can stop it from getting worse, and those tests proved that with glasses I may be able to see clearly again~
So yeah, I guess all my health things are gonna come up at once. lol Anyway, they are expecting the recovery time to be less than a week, so I'll let everyone know when I know the date so you know when I'll disappear again for a bit. Then another month later I have my reattachment surgery lol I guess

I had a chat with the surgery crew this morning. They were able to move the shaft 10 centimeters, closing the gap between where the necrosis had to be removed and where the shaft should attach to my body. They said it went smoothly and today the shaft is still soft and warm, a good sign that the blood is still flowing smoothly.
They were not able to reattach the shaft yesterday since they did not want to risk compromising that blood flow, reducing the risk of necrosis happening again.
So in December I will go back for the reattachment. Unfortunately that surgery will have to be done while I am awake, so I'll be bringing headphones and our iPad for that 😖
They are expecting to be able to do the full release surgery in March. I forgot to ask when they do the head sculpting, so I'm not sure if the one in March is the final of the penis process yet :⁰U
It's a process for sure, but in my opinion the hardest thing to deal with was the necrosis, so considering I'm feeling quite well about it.
I get to go home today, my partner is driving over now and should be here in a few hours. Then it's rest and recovery for a while. Right now I'm feeling this part was quite a lot easier than the first, and if that remains true I hope to be back drawing soon :⁰3

Writing this from my phone so I'll keep it brief but I just woke up from the surgery a few hours ago. Not too bad with the general anesthesia symptoms, and the docs called my partner while I was under and said things went well.
They decided to just the first half of the reconstruction this time since it would be the best way to guarantee good blood flow when they do the full reattachment. I'm feeling quite a bit better about it right now tho, they seem to be confident about the slow and steady~

There are less than 24 hours until my reattachment surgery. I'm actually feeling quite a bit better about it since the last journal. Of course I am still scared and quite paranoid about the same problem coming up again, but I feel like the good news is with the shaft being mostly healed as it is, my body will have less work to deal with healing so I'm hoping that means less inflammation and thus less chance of any blood flow being blocked when they reattach the vessels.
Unfortunately, much like the first time around we won't really know if it worked until probably a week or two after the surgery, but I will post another journal and let you guys know what the surgeons' opinions are about how it seemed to go when I'm over the general anesthesia and feeling not too drugged. lol
I appreciate how supportive everyone has been, and hopefully things will be back to normal soon so it can just be porn flow again I°3

I have been waiting for good news for my next announcement, but unfortunately that's just not happening any time soon.
I had a visit with my surgeon earlier in the week, we're gonna do the reattachment surgery on the 27th of September since that is the earliest the whole team can align their schedules. It's been tough, and this next surgery is kind of our last chance to salvage this without having to redo the whole thing from scratch on the other side of my body, so I'm really hoping this will work. Whether you pray above or below, any well wishes are greatly appreciated hehe
I'm taking baby steps to kind of rebuild myself, and while I'm making progress, it will mean a little bit more waiting for some. I haven't forgotten any of you, and your patience is immensely appreciated.

First of all, I want to apologize to everyone who is waiting for replies back from me right now. I am working on catching up with everything I fell behind in, and things are starting to get back on track in that department.

Had another check up yesterday, and basically for the most part just got some questions answered this time. I thought my surgeon was gonna be back next week, but it turns out she will be back the week after. I'm not looking forward to two more weeks of this open wound, but to clarify it was a mutual agreement that this was the best option. The guy who has been doing my touch ups and stitches for the past few weeks said he technically has the skill to reattach the graft, but he feels more confident in the surgeon who has been working on it up to this point since she has much more experience with this procedure. And since the wound has been staying clean, infection free, and the necrosis has not continued for over two weeks now, it is not an emergency.
The phallus itself seems to be healed pretty well so I will not need more stitches to hold its cylindrical shape, and during the clean up yesterday it was a little bit painful -I take that as good news because that means that so far there is some sensation in the graft. It is super soft and jiggly and feels much more authentic than I was anticipating. It is easy to understand that it will not be "real" given how complex the natural organ is and what limitations the doctors have to work with, but I must say I am very impressed.
I always imagined myself just ignoring the scar, but the way it healed with the holes where the stitches are looks like a Jacob's ladder situation and that's kinda cool haha
I will eventually do the mega write up, but I have decided to wait until this first leg of the journey is complete. There will be three versions, one with just writing, another with some easier-to-swallow images, and one with all of the images. I want people to be able to see if it they want to, since I feel I would have been more mentally equipped if I had known what this could be like, but I do not want anyone to be discouraged. I am feeling confident about this surgery for myself, and I believe that those who may also need it will be able to handle it too.
In other good news, no more six hour drives until after those two weeks lol I am just gonna go to the local clinic next Monday and the next two Fridays to make sure the wound is staying in its current condition meanwhile. Tho at least the drives are always nice, my partner is very pleasant company~
You may have noticed things are starting to get posted. I set up a Postybirb and things are scheduled well into September, so the content will continue to trickle in even when I hermit for the most part. And of course that stack will continue to grow.

They still had to touch up a little and were able to close the wound a little further this week. It turns out I will need to go under another time, but since the surgeon is away until two weeks from now, I will be going back for one more touch-up session before that. Oh yeah, and I am now pump-free~
On the drawing front, I have been poking around a bit with some personal stuff to warm up. I'll get back to those who have been waiting for replies soon, and we can figure out a pace to try it at~

I guess once a week seems to be update time lol It's been a little rough I have to admit, and I had originally thought the docs had managed to close the wound with the touch up surgery I had a week ago, but that was not the case. I went in yesterday to have the dressings changed and ended up having to have some more surgical work done, this time I did not get to be asleep so that was uncomfortable to say the least. And it's not through yet, the wound is about 3x5 centimeters at the moment, they told me yesterday they were able to narrow it down by about a centimeter and it seems like I will have to go back 2 - 3 more times for a similar procedure and continue with the pump system until they can get it to close.
On the bright side, they do seem confident that it will recover and I noticed there seems to be some sensation in the shaft this early. I noticed that I can sense temperature like if I cup my hand over it, I can feel warmth coming from my hand, and when I had to have the work done yesterday I was able to feel it somewhat especially the stitching.
This is taking much longer than I expected and I appreciate that everyone has been very patient with me, especially my partner who has had to deal with driving 6 hours every time I need to go in on top of working as well as supporting me through this psychological endurance marathon. I'm grateful to be where I am and I'll keep working on this recovery.

I forgot again to ask the doctor about the whole series but I am now sitting in the motel after having the touch up surgery. I will write more about it when I get to the write up, but to put it short they removed a chunk of necrotic flesh and reassembled parts that had sort of decayed and come apart. Apparently very common with this type of surgery as mentioned and an easy fix and I get to pretend I'm a gas powered cyborg with this implant (it makes a constant putt putt sound lol) that I have to carry around for a week or two lol https://twitter.com/Loonertick2/status/1549446190114213889?t=-fTGLktKsLXm0ZvkGflfUA&s=19
I have to go back next week to have them examine the implant and decide if they need to remove it yet or not, and then I have to go back the following week to get it removed for sure and also get the area examined. So I'll keep everyone up to date and get a start on the write up soon~
Im feeling much better mentally now that I've had the necrosis dealt with and feeling just fine physically~ I feel like I'm at the point now I can just be excited for things to come 😊
