Do people actually care if an artist deletes their old work or is this just faux outrage?
I figure if they aren't comfortable with what is on their page they should be able to delete it no questions asked and be able to move on from it.
I'm pretty sure most people don't even notice when old work goes missing mainly due to how much new stuff is being made all over the place, so why the big deal about it?

Well that was unexpected of tumblr. They just threw out their core base that actually still used this platorm. I'm honestly impressed with this strategy to get back into Apple's graces, though at the same time I'm actually disappointed in how it came to this to actually get Verizon to get their shit together. Sucks because I actually liked tumblr for what it was even though I don't think I used it to its full potential. Oh well, I guess it be like that sometimes.

What I'm more suprised at, is how newgrounds is soaking up the refugees. Like any sort of crisis those who know how to market themselves are gonna be the ones who end up on top and what they are doing right now is gonna set them up for success in the long run. Unless... they get acquired by a huge conglomerate and then we get tumblr 2: electric boogaloo all over again. Time will tell I guess. It's gonna be an interesting few months to see how people settle into a new arena and hopefully some new faces pop up and get discovered through this. Maybe tumblr shooting itself in the face was a good thing.

I don't understand this thought process I'm seeing from some of the users here. First they claim this place is a great environment to express themselves and its so inclusive. Then the site experiences this sort of action with accounts being purged and whatnot and now the site is "terrible" and "the worst thing ever made" or my favorite, the site "was never good to begin with." I know tumblr is not a hive mind, but the people saying this sound like real dumbasses when they've been using the site for years and then make a heel-face turn based off of one situation.
The next idea is to flood twitter. Aren't you guys kicking the can down the road with this sort of logic? If twitter decides to do the same sort of purge where exactly are you going to go then? As current consensus is shows Twitter is no better with censorship and shadow banning people with 'ad-unfriendly' content. How exactly is this any better?
Please think long term rather than impulse decision making. This 'purge' or change is not the end of the world. Please diversify where you have your audience if you take nothing else from this sort of thing just realize nothing lasts forever and things change whether it benefits you or not.

I dont ask for much in this life. I don’t even want a lot in this world. But one thing I would like, if I could at least control this aspect of my tumblr space is for those people who talk to me… Learn the difference between a request and a suggestion. It’s sorta off putting having people think I owe them something simply by dropping a suggestion and then get mad when I dont do it. Or continiously message me about doing something I had no interest in doing in the first place. Read the signs, feel out the situation. If you’re telling me more than I’m responding you probably lost me a long time ago.

You see this same phenomena whenever a celebrity dies. Michael Jackson dies everyone is a fan all of a sudden. But seems to forget the endless times they referred to him as a pedophile. Steven Hawking dies and now these same people are talking about how important he was. But rewind a few years back and these people act as though this man knows nothing about what he talks about.

I joined a few discord groups over the past few weeks. Any decent ones I'd be able to spend some time in that you guys would recommend?

So I am coming to the end of my creative streak and had some projects I wanted to redo after some time. I mentioned in some of my posts that I would come back to them at some point but for one reason or another didnt. Since I have a bit more time to do so at the moment I wanted to at least get some input on the matter. Is there a picture I've done that you'd like to see remade or an old one that could use a "modern" remake? I've already got 3 I'll be working on soon so that'll probably be what i post next.

so whats the general consensus on discord?
people use it now or is it just a bandaid until something better comes along? only reason i ask is because i dropped skype after years of service and wanted to see where the tides were headed.

The title has nothing to do with the journal. Sorry. Anyway, I'm currently going through this wonderful pinup book I got from an auction I went to a week ago. So while I go through it I've been coming up with some fun ideas I can use (already got three so far that I've put into action.) and some other ideas I try to work around. Since I figure you guys are my audience why not toss out some ideas and see if anything can be mixed with what I have now to make something nice. Either way, I'm in a somewhat artistic mood and want to keep the groove up for as long as I can before I drop off for a while. Working on art in my down time helps me let off some steam as well as challenge myself in various ways. Plus hearing various ideas from other people helps with the creative process. Or tell me other quotes from Ice T.

How have you all been? It's been a while since I've stopped by and wanted to see what was up while I was around. Gonna post some stuff this weekend since I have time to do edits. Been playing some killing floor 2 lately and it's grown on me as of late. Gonna use the time I have off to unwind as much as possible so let's see where that takes me.

I seem to have the best timing when it comes to finding out about cool people. They are either dead, recently passed, or have decided to walk away from music by the time I find about out about them. I'm just glad I knew about Nujabes in his time or I'd be pretty salty.

Anyone else here need something to listen to whenever they are working on artwork. Most of the time its not even music but WW2 documentaries that I like listening to whenever I get the need to work on something. I guess it helps me focus more on a subconcious level. Hell most of the time I just like listening to people explain something (how stuff works, theories etc) and im in the zone.
What helps you draw or write?

It seems that since this thing has caught fire a lot of people I've seen in patreon seem to believe that if they put their content behind a paywall they will simply rake in the money easy peasy lemon squeasy. But for the vast majority of people out there they are simply wasting their time to be honest. Watch count, supporters, view count and quality seem to be the key factors if a person should even consider such a thing.
As a side note, this isn't a message because I cant afford to not support someone because I'm all about the porn. If you've watched me long enough you'd know better.

Well 2015 is on the way and there are many new hopes for the brand new year.
Resolutions are something people try to stick with but lets be honest no one ever truly keeps up with them. So instead of trying to stick with some artificial list that wont be completed I figure everyone could at least try something easy and work their way up. Try not being as shitty of a person as they were the year before. You know, general improvements in all areas. Someone says something to you that you don't like, laugh about it and move on rather than responding. Be more compassionate about subjects rather than dismissive. Be high, when you are low. Shit, anything helps. The way the world is headed in the next decade I'm sure were all going to need to have as many well to do people as possible. Just a thought.


By the way, ever look through your friends list on steam/skype/ whatever and wonder who the hell some of the people on there are. Gonna have to do some cleaning before the year is up.
