So, recently there have been a buttload of wild fires around the Colorado Springs, Boulder and Air Force Academy areas on the front range of Colorado. Temperatures have been at a constant 90~100F during the day and winds have been picking up:about 20 miles out from where I live, homes are currently burning to the ground.

While It hasn't happened yet, It is very likely that an evacuation will happen in my area. Here's hoping for either rain, a westward windshift (towards the mountains and away from homes) or a containment of said fires. Until then, I will be forced to enjoy permanent orange flavored skies :/

SO a couple months ago I broke my right arm on the radius, just below the elbow: It's taken even longer than expected to heal because there has been some audible (and uncomfortable) popping coming from the elbow joint. Also, I have also been very skiddish in returning to the local gym so that I do not injure it further building my MASSIVE MUSCLES.

Anyways, I'm trying to get back on the art train (its a big, very colorful train with like 2 dozen whistles and chimes) and the process is very slow (not the train.). I want to seriously express that last year and parts of this one have been pretty rough, and I'm coming out of a scenario I'd rather forget. In addition, I'm finding less joy in drawing 'generic' female canine girls, and I'd like to expand my work a little bit. I have been watching the livestreams of a few artists and watching their process and their ideas flow is pretty inspiring to me :) I also have a WIP comic I have great vision for and I want to get the whole thing on paper (photoshop) and show you guys some porn, but also a scenario I think not a lot of furs bother to explore or a relationship I feel is really interesting.

I am thinking about commissions, but I'm really not decided yet: I have a lot of things to clean up before i can continue drawing this summer, and I'm not exactly sure what a color-commission from me would even look like at this point: my gallery for the last couple years has been ink and sketches. Regardless, its on the table, just not for the time being.

Anyways, I'm good to go for art and I'm focused on drawing a good sequence of porn. Consider it a last-hurrah for something I've always wanted to do and for a fandom that has brought me much joy over the years.

Out of a sling and splint and moving around semi-well: I have another +4-6 weeks of full recovery.

I am at the point where I can operate, but not at dexterity.

Just an update.

So, I was having a couple cocktails (rum and diet coke of course), and I accidentally let my folk's indoor-cats outside. I Got one inside, but the other was by our driveway: THE CHASE IS ON.

So, I ran after him, and just as I got to him, he cut to right and tripped me up. I rolled my right ankle (which happens every once and a while) and began to fall backwards. I used my right arm to brace, which immediately resulted in a very, very painful hyper-extension. Of course, my forward momentum caused my chin to bounce off the pavement and cause me to shatter the glass in my hand, mildly slicing my thumb and left hand.

So, after applying ice and a half a day thinking I dislocated it, I knew I needed a hospital trip when I couldn't move my elbow more than a inch.

The diagnosis is a hairline fracture of the radius, just away from the elbow joint. I'll be in a splint and sling for at least a month, probably 9 weeks until full-recovery + additional weight training. I am very thankful that it didn't compound or shatter: that would have required an a implant.

I was thinking about starting commissions soon, but that's definitely out the window for the time being. If any of you are interested, I could talk about potential ideas and scenes but i can't draw right now.

Now you guy know why I am a dog-person :/

Despite my very long hiatus from furry porn, I am still showing activity in drawing canine women fornicating.

I am currently working on a very detailed erotica comic. Here is my major quarrel with how an artist presents his work in the furry fandom.

Incentive.

Let me clarify. As an artist I want to provide the best works I can to the best of my ability (note I am still learning and may not provide the best artworks to YOUR expectations) so that you have something to enjoy and revel in (in this case masturbate to).

As a furry artist, I not only enjoy creating furry porn for the sake of learning and improving but I also want to create a piece of erotica that might get you guys off. Believe it or not, as an artist (lol ‘erotica producer’) I actually have a goal in creating artwork that is not only well presented, but also sexually arousing.

The main problem that I experience is that furries don’t seem to care about quality anymore. Thus, how the fuck can you differentiate your art from the rest of the trite furry shit that goes on in the fandom? You guys (may) know me: I at least try to be professional and have created some decent female works in the past but it seems that in the furry fandom, ridiculous shit seems to win the popularity contest.

In my art, I stick to female canines and try to better my quality on just that subject: I’ve been creating female canid sketches for the last 3 years and only a handful of people notice. Do fetishes really win in the grand scheme of the furry fandom?

Mind you, I have a significantly smaller ‘brand name’ and hell even quality to a few other artists, but it still bugs me: why should I continue drawing my own preference of furry art if trying to improve it takes me nowhere? I’ve contemplated and tried to change style and direction but still nothing as far as acknowledgment goes.

To be honest, if I wanted to I could take the Bernal direction and just be a tremendous asshole, or start drawing odd/weird porn and get a ton of viewers, but I like to think I have integrity and can just draw what I love. I thought that my style would be enough to cater to the people who like pinups and cheesecakes: apparently furries clearly want something other than quality.

Thus, incentive.

I’ve seen artists like Adam Wan and MoonStalker sacrifice their passion or maybe just ‘position’ in furry art from what they used to create (beautiful females and wonderful images of all types) to overpriced commissions and popular creations that are clearly uninspired.

As for me, Lord MagicPants, don’t expect too much out of me. I’m not leaving, I love furry art/porn/weirdness/drama all that awesome shit: It’s just that I have known for a long time that this whole realm is bizarre as shit and I can’t really expect much out of it aside from porn. As far as incentive, I’ll be on the side lines for now.

Time for my end of the morning rant about waffles.

I'm not making them. Period. If you are seeing waffles somehow pop up from me, it's because it was for a breakfast I ate, or breakfast made with obscene amounts of batter. Double digit numbers of frozen waffles flow into my toaster oven every day, and it's reaching uncleanable amounts of constant burnt batter.

When opening one box that the flavors I was craving for was not even close to my usual taste, further prodding about my hunger ended in me telling the box that I was quite frankly out of syrup. I then told the box how hungry I am, and that the box was going to spread the butter away from me to make healthier, tastier options. Way to be a fucking jerk about it, but you're probably not even chocolate chip. You know who you are, so create another flavor and remain anonymous. Pancakes are here for you too.

I make enough battler at my cooking job not to need 3000 calorie a pound waffles, and just because I'm a hungry dude doesn't mean I'm going to do what so many cooks unfortunately do, which is make a severely large breakfast. I have dishes I want to create for myself, and those are not going to happen till my satisfaction for waffles is empty.

I'm not available for waffles, outside of very delicious confections that genuinely delight me and are exceedingly yummy. Otherwise I'd be blowing all my free time mixing boring-to-tears batter of banana/cinnamon/blueberries being covered with their imitation maple syrup, and transform a once enjoyable food for me into a stomach ache.

So, I was in the middle of coloring this image: http://www.furaffinity.net/full/1067842/ and just after I finished coloring her head, which took about 5 hours of work, I go to save the file. I had been saving regularly through out the process, meticulously making sure my work would not be lost.

So I save for a final time tonight and get up to stretch, ready to move onto another task (IE study for my exams tomorrow) when I gently bump the side of my bed. Because I nudged the loose power socket on my wall, power was lost in the middle of saving.

Only 6mb of a 200+ mb image were saved and I get the cursed Photoshop could-not-read file error.

5 hours and one damn fine coloring job down the drain, all because I nudged my mattress. )': what would have been a somewhat on-time Valintines day pic will most likely not happen now.

I am grateful for this though: Because this kind of thing could have happened at any point during the coloring process, I'm somewhat glad it happened only 5 hours in instead of 5 weeks in : And I am a bit happy that I know the process on what to do now, instead of the little errors I started to notice.

Not much I can do right now except collect myself and start again.

First of all, I have been very active, just not at my gallery: within the last few weeks I have moved from my house back up to Boulder for the Fall and Spring semesters and have been studying, befriending and drinking my way into the new settlement. No roommate problems so far, but I doubt there will be.

On top of all of this: I turn 21 years of age in 3 DAYS. It reminds me of the moon in Majora's Mask, except I'm Link, and the moon is mild alcoholism. I have those 2 hours from 12:00 to 2:00 am this Sunday to get my drink on: I'm thinking a nice Jack'n'Coke should seal the morning quite nicely.

Also, don't expect anything too elaborate of a project from me within the next two weeks or so: I just finished work on the frightening Chiral Sisters (for Enden) and I have many exams to focus on this fortnight.

On a side note: I finally got some art classes lined up for myself and Studio Art 101 happens to be one I am currently taking. Does anyone have an opinion on what level of 'furry' I should include into my publicly seen sketch book?

According to my last journal, my final exams have been going on for 6 weeks, which is obviously false.

Not only am I not dead, but only under the radar: I have a bunch of stuff that I am currently working on: namely a large project which demands a good deal of attention. I work a couple hours a day which is really all I can do at the moment.

Because of my summer job (I work as maintenance/mower at the local golf coarse for the season) I seldom have time to focus on anything, especially when I have to go to work at 5:30 am. Last week was a joy: I ended up working 65+ hours with a single day racking up 16 hours in succession. Then again, that autumn rent isn't going to pay itself...

The next few days should hopefully be productive so watch out for some activity from me, I feel like posting some old un-released stuff and I have new work on the way: assuming my job doesn't kill me first.

I love the watches I am getting; I seem to get as steady flow of about 1 a day. Thanks you guys! BTW Os was my 300th watch I may have to congratulate him somehow...

Fortunately / Unfortunately I have begun playing Halo 2 again because it is close to summer and am trying to break the pressure of college by kicking the crap out of people in rainbow colored armor.
