Been too caught up in new job, sorry! Also FA's just got a lot of scummy stuff behind the scenes I'm not too fond of so I'm not very concerned about this site anymore.

So, last post I made I said I was working for a youtuber, yeah? Still am! Been going great! I do asset work for theodd1sout, & I've already helped with a few vids~ If you see an anime reference/cameo character that was probably me lmfao.

So yeah, that's pretty much what I'm up to + still making fan merch on the side. Takes up a lot of time, but it's been good & fulfilling! I'll probably dump art on here sometime soon since I still appreciate the gallery aspect of this site, but uploads will be very infrequent. I pretty much only check on this site for certain artists anyways.

I've taken up a position as an asset artist for a youtuber! I'm EXTREMELY excited to be doing this work, & will be dedicating a lot of time & energy into it to make sure I do the best work possible.
This ALSO means commissions are CLOSED and they will be for the foreseeable future.
I may take YCHs or something every now & again, but otherwise, this is my new job.
Ty everyone who's supported me in doing commissions for over a decade, but I'm so excited to be doing something new & exciting!
I'll still be running my online store & merch on the side, so if you've ordered anything from me, don't worry! You'll still get your stuff~

Yo, long time no update! So this is basically just a 'hey, commission methods are changing to be more smooth' announcement. As stated in the title, these changes will be effective in 2021, so for the remainder of the month, things won't be changed.

So, onto what's different:

FLAT COLOR, SCREENTONE, & SHADED.

Flat color & screentone commission options will be remaining the same, but I will be removing "cell shaded" & "full CG shaded" options in exchange for a single shading style!

Said style is the one I've been using more in personal art or YCHs. It's a bit of a soft cell shaded hybrid, but I'd really like to focus on it only going forward.

BACKGROUNDS/SCENE COMMISSIONS

I've found this year, that I've had some anxiety when it comes to specific scenes being commissioned, where bodies are cropped for composition-sake. But then I end up worrying if people will be upset paying for a full body when, say, the feet are cropped out.

So, to solve this issue, I'll be adding a 4th commission option called "scene" commissions.

Essentially, all normal commissions will be whatever amount of body paid for, 100%. However, they will not be eligible for backgrounds outside of simple pattern BG type things.

Scene commissions, however, will be the only option for backgrounds, & the pricing will be more focused on the idea asked for. This way, if characters are cropped more or in a specific way for the sake of the image, it can be priced appropriately & I won't have to worry about feeling like I'm "shorting" the client for a better result.

Those are really the 2 big changes! Chibis will stay the same aside from also switching to a single shading option, & reference sheets will be the same as always.

Telegram stickers will be permanently discontinued unless I randomly feel like taking some. I just don't find them fun to do anymore, & often times the pay is not worth the stress for them.

There will be another slight price increase, & probably brand new price sheet for everything in 2021.

SO, FINALLY:
If you want to commission anything that's going to be discontinued by next year (basically anything cell or full CG shaded), I suggest you do so this month before it's gone! I won't be taking commissions with old shading styles once the change is made.

Heya, popping up here on my phone to give an important update:

Yesterday, a series of servere thunderstorms formed a derecho that ripped through my state & the midwest. What's a derecho? I had no idea until yesterday, but essentially: due to the large number of storms moving in cool air, it pushed the air current forcefully & produced hurricane-level winds.

I live far south, so I got no damage. But, many areas & cities that were in the middle of it are destroyed & without power (my aunt's city is without power, & half of my grandma's house got ripped away. She's ok, but this was a serious event I've never experienced in my whole life living here).

Along with this, my internet provider is down for my entire state & then some. They've stated they cannot proceed to fix their systems until power lines & electrical systems are fixed in the larger cities, so it's kinda...up in the air ATM on when it'll be back. Hopefully not that long, but I've heard from some others that it may be the end of the week. Unsure atm.

I've already contacted all clients regarding this, but I also wont be able to upload art due to this. I'll be working on what I can without internet on my desktop, so I'll hopefully have stuff to post when it comes back.

TL;DR: huge storm knocked out internet for my state, idk when it'll be back.

We're apparently suppose to get a derecho twice a year, but I'm 25 years old & have never even heard of it until yesterday lol. 2020 never stopping, I guess.

tldr: my pet died, I'll be working, but it'll be slower. Below is just elaboration.

On Saturday evening, we had to make the difficult decision to put my 5 year old ferret, Jiji, to sleep. She formed lymphoma last year, & had almost lasted an entire year on medication & a special diet to keep her from losing too much weight.

I scheduled the euthanasia appointment for Tuesday, but she seemed to be in pain & could barely move, among other problems. Thankfully, we have a wonderful vet who was still at the clinic after hours, so we were able to get it done quickly.

This is my first pet death since I moved out, with my first pet since not living with a parent, so it's a lot. I'm doing generally ok, knowing she's not in pain anymore, but it still sucks & I catch myself getting sad & thinking about her. She was a very special ferret who was loved by a lot of people, & turned around a lot of people's perceptions (mean stinky creatures) who met her. I miss her a lot.

We have her ashes & are just waiting on the urn I ordered to come in to complete her memoriam. It hurts to know she's gone, but comforting to have her home in that way.

I'll be distracted & slow, but still drawing. Frankly, I'll go nuts if I just sit around all day doing nothing, so art will still happen. I just ask for patience.

I'll also be spoiling & snuggling the shit out of our other 2 ferrets (who are doing fine, they've bonded so they aren't experiencing loneliness) cuz that's just what you do.

So the short of it is: Went in for selection this morning, but one of the attorneys got into a car accident (she's ok!) on the way to the courthouse cuz today was also the trial date. Due to this, everyone summoned was excused & our service deemed "fulfilled".

So, no need to worry about that, now! Back is still an issue, but I'm trying to work around it as stated previously.

Hey y'all, bit of an important update!

Last Sunday, I believe I slipped a disk in the lower area of my spine while bending over. The pain was EXCRUCIATING & I could barely move. I took a day of rest the next day, & paced my work (since sitting for too long hurt badly) & I was starting to recover.
Then I believe Thursday, I dropped an egg, & while bending over to clean it, & re-slipped the disk or whatever! Either way I was back to square one. 8)

I've recovered a little bit from that, but I've been in a decent amount of pain with no real signs of getting better for now. So, due to this, I'm having to work for 1-2 hours, then go lay down for 1-2 hours. This makes it so I have less time & am slower with work.

Along with this, I have jury duty starting tomorrow (let's hope I don't have to do it for too long) & potentially sitting in a court room for a long period of time won't be doing me any favors. Idk if I'll need to rest even more during the day if that's the case.

So, due to these combined factors, artwork will be a bit less frequent. It sucks, cuz I would LIKE to work & frankly can't afford to take too much time off (nor see a doctor lmao rip) so I'm just kinda? Stuck.

This'll probably seem a little e-beggy, but during this time, consider commissioning me? Or picking up some of my Pokemon merch once my charms come in (Soon hopefully!). Medication for my pet, taxes, & car repairs are looming over my head, so I need to bring in money to help keep us afloat. I'll most likely be keeping up with the sexy titty YCHs (since they're selling well) if you're interested in those, cuz more are coming!
